Decoding Schengen Visa Delays: The Emergence of ‘Visa Shopping’
Acquiring a Schengen visa not only opens doors to a single Schengen country but also grants the freedom to explore other nations within the Schengen zone. Sometimes, travelers find themselves in a quandary while organizing their European journey, leading them to schedule visa appointments in one country while finalizing their travel plans for another. This practice is commonly referred to as 'Visa Shopping'.
Visa shopping involves applying for a visa from the consulate or embassy of one country with the intention of using it to gain entry into a different country within the Schengen zone. Travelers may opt for this route if they believe it might be more convenient or expedient to obtain a visa from a specific Schengen country, even if their primary destination lies elsewhere within the Schengen area.
As the volume of travelers continues to surge, obtaining visas for highly sought-after destinations has become increasingly competitive. Availability of visa appointments has also become constrained. Consequently, many individuals are choosing to apply for visas in smaller, less frequented countries.
While visa shopping might seem like a viable solution, it is generally discouraged and could result in visa rejections or travel constraints if immigration authorities discern that the applicant's true intention was to enter a different Schengen country than the one where the visa application was submitted. It is crucial to approach visa applications with honesty and transparency, adhering to the specific visa procedures of the Schengen country that constitutes your primary destination.
To dispel uncertainties regarding the point of entry, it is imperative for travelers to meticulously plan their itineraries and secure visa appointments well in advance. Spontaneous bookings, especially during peak travel seasons, should be avoided. A prudent approach is to plan at least six months ahead. Travelers are strongly advised to apply for a visa to the country where they intend to spend the most substantial part of their visit.
According to data sourced from schengenvisa.com, France, Spain, and Germany emerged as the top recipients of Schengen visa applications, while Iceland, Lithuania, and Latvia reported the lowest visa rejection rates.
In terms of ease of obtaining a Schengen visa, countries like Slovakia, Finland, Luxembourg, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, and Italy were among the more favorable options. On the other hand, Malta, Sweden, Belgium, and France reported higher rejection rates.
While you plan for your trip, you can depend on VisaMint Overseas Services, the best Schengen Visa Consultant in India to assist you with visa applications and documentation. We help you make your trip a memorable one.

🚨 Visa Update! Starting April 10, 2025, Australia, Canada, and US citizens must have a visa for Brazil entry. Also need to share bank statements first.
Good news: Tourists and cruise-goers can now apply for an evisa online, saving a trip to the consulate. It's $80.90, valid for 10 years with multiple entries, but stays capped at 90 days/year. This was initially slated for 2024 but is now making a comeback after a brief hiatus since 2019.

Italy Part One is Done
We have found the one of the most fun ways to take a tour on a bike, make it an electric bike! We toured Florence on an electric bike. No worries about the hills of the country side or how tired you will be biking all over these sweet little rides go up to 28 mph. They are a bike with a boost. We had a blast except for when my pedal fell off. It was amazing to see Florence from the country side. We saw the groves of olives and some grapes. We saw where Galileo studied and the replica of the David statue that stands in Piazzale Michelangelo over looking Florence.  This tour was a lot of fun. Not only because of the electric bikes but because it was a fun way to see the city and actually get out of the city for a bit. I feel really sad for a lot of the dogs in Florence as there isn’t much green in the city.  I know there city dogs and they don’t know any different but I do.
To wrap up our time in Florence we toured the inside of Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. The dome of the cathedral was build to resemble a lily for Stain Mary of the flower as it is named.  It is a beautiful Duomo. Once again you have to be covered.  Maclaren had shorts on that were just above her knees and she had to wrap my scarf around her waist.  This ticked her off especially when we got in and saw so many people who did not have their knees or shoulders covered.  We did not climb to the top of the dome.  We honestly felt that we had seen the most beautiful views of Florence from the Piazzale the night before.  We also visited the da Vinci museum.  Neat set up with a lot of hands on stuff.  They had some of the sketches from the horse that he never completed, you know the one that was replicated and now is in the Fredrick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids.  According to records di Vinci said his biggest regret once he became ill was not finishing the horse so it cool that others stepped up to make it happen in different forms around the world.
Travel day - these are always stressful days for me. We traveled to Trieste so we would be closer to the border of Italy and Slovenia.  The iron curtain maybe long gone but trains to not place nice between these two countries.  After looking at lots of different options I decided I would rent a car and drive to Ljubljana Slovenia airport and pick up Dean.  We got out of Florence and all was going well, then we had to switch trains and it all went to hell!  I checked with the person on the platform to make sure we were in the correct place and all was good and they said I need to talk to the person at the ticketing desk because I had made some changes to our tickets.  When I went inside the person who assisted me, even though she had my ticket, told me that we’d be better off taking a bus.  The f’ed up part is that it was a bus to the wrong town and it wasn’t until we were on it and I was looking at the information that I realized it so to correct all of this it took an additional 3 hours of travel and about 40 euros.  I am so glad to be done with long distant train trips for a while. We checked into our hotel in Trieste and got a okay nights sleep.  In the morning we headed to the airport and picked up our rental car.  That process took about an hour.  The rental car person told me I needed to get this sticker that you are required to have in Slovenia and you had to get it on this one specific spot.  Declan was helping me find it and we were actually in the correct spot the first time but second guessed ourselves so we went on a crazy 15 minute detour to get back to where we need to be.  We made it back to the spot we should of stopped for the sticker and stopped this time.  Got the sticker and away we went!  It was all highway driving and crossing the boarder here is like driving from state to state.  We met Dean and Jay Cook (his friend from Western) at the airport and were on our way to Lake Bled. Up to the mountains for the peaceful countryside, well except for the church that is near buy and rings the bell I can’t tell you how many times a day.  I’ve gotten used to it now.
We’ve visited the Bled Castle and did some summer tobogganing. Bled is a pretty little town.  Reminds me of Charlevoix, limited access, big lake, tourist, and beautiful. Exception here is that there are bus loads of tourists that come in daily.
It really is hard to believe that two weeks from today we’ll be on a plane home. Time is going by so fast.  We still have lots to do with Dean here this week and my nephew Tom arriving next Saturday.

PERU’NUN HİKAYESİ
Birinci Bölüm: Atanamamış Aydınlanmışların Ülkesi
Tumblr media
İkinci bölümde Peru’yu tadmaya ve sizlere aktarmaya devam edeceğim sıfır takipçili ve hiçbir beklentimin olmadığı sevimli sayfamda:)
Çokça sevgiler, Hande.

Sorry, this time I missed many days and it’s already past one social challenge, but I’m determined to complete the 10-day travel challenge that @tinypoem nominated me for. Where we last left: decided to theme these images of a building or structure I’ve had the privilege of enjoying. Day 10 (we made it!): Kentuck Knob, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, located at Chalk Hill, PA (near Pittsburgh) and only a 15-min drive from Fallingwater. The house is still privately owned by Lord Palumbo (yes, it’s a real name) and when he is in residence, the house is not open to the public (and you can’t take photos inside in any case). It’s a family-sized house (around 250 sq m), yet fully holds FLW’s compression/release magic. The house is on a ridge, just opposite is a beautiful valley. . . . #travelchallenge #franklloydwright #franklloydwrighthouse #franklloydwrightarchitecture #flw #pennsylvania #kentuckknob (at Kentuck Knob & Fallingwater) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDWearrnSAN/?igshid=p58761c9brdk

Day 9 of 10 for the 10 day Favorite Travel Pic Challenge. Every day I select an image from my travel pictures that had an impact on me and post it. That’s 10 days and 10 photos. Today is day 9 😊 Petra, Jordan. Traveling to the famous Treasury (Al-Khazneh) and then allllllll the way up to the Monastery. Most of us were so exhausted on the way back that we got camels to ride back to the Treasury once we were back down from the Monastery. The camel's kiss was given to me at the Treasury before the walk out and back to the hotel where we were staying literally right across the street from the entrance to Petra. Riding a camel is not anything like riding a horse. LOL! There's a whole lot more sway to their stride. #PhotoChallenge #TravelChallenge #10Photos10Days #Travel #Jordan #Petra #Maan #Treasury #Camel #CamelKisses #JewishGirl #AshkenaziJews #IHaveJewishDNA #ILoveToTravel #WorldTraveler #Single #SingleMom #SingleMomLife #TexasGirl #Over40 #GenX #Follow (at Petra, Ma`An, Jordan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZFt2jAFA9v/?utm_medium=tumblr
