Note
Lucky was flying over a mansion when he lost control of his wings and unceremoniously crashed into the tower's glass ceiling, shattering it.
Hawkmoth: The Ladybug miraculous!
Hawkmoth: Give it to me!
Lucky: Yossha Lucky!
Lucky: It seems I bumped into the villain as soon as I arrived.
Hawkmoth begins to fight Lucky over the earrings he had attached to his changer.
Lucky: Tikki said I can create something of my own with Lucky Charm A swarm of ladybugs materialized and created a kyutama that landed on Lucky's hand.
Lucky: Yossha lucky!
Lucky: Let's use this!
The changer wasn't affected by the transformation at all, Lucky simply loaded the spotted Kyutama into his Seiza Blaster
-Wormhole Kyutama: Seiza Attack-
A red wormhole appeared on the ceiling and out came a robot, and two human-looking persons.
Lucky: Yossha Lucky!!!
Lucky: Balance, Naga, get all of the jewels on him.
Balance: oh hey Lucky!
Balance: if you want us to steal something
Balance: the Bn thieves are on the case!
Naga: let us get all of these jewels balance Balance: right behind you Naga.
Hawkmoth tried to stop both thieves from stealing his miraculous but all of them were eventually stolen, apart from the moth-themed one.
Balance: Kotaro, catch.
Dusuu: Hello, I am Dusuu, I am a kwami you can transform by saying Dusuu, spread my feathers
Dusuu: to use my power, which is to create an ally from your emotions, get a feather and give it power let it inhabit something you have deep attachment.
Kotaro: Okay, Dusuu spread my feathers.
Kotaro's Kyuranger transformation undid itself before his uniform changed into something else. He now wears a Hakama-Kimono combination in indigo and sky blue, his hair were now skyblue and the skin around his eyes was indigo.
The back of Kotaro's kimono sported the Kanji for "Peacock" and behind the kanji characters was a peacock with its tail feathers open in a circle.
----
Lucky, Kotaro, Balance, and Naga all leave Hawkmoth, a man in white with platinum blonde hair, unconscious in his tower, devoid of any jewels.
They soon meet with Tikki's holder, who was wearing mouse-themed clothes.
Lucky: you must be Tikki's holder.
Lucky: I found them on the moon.
Marinette: On the moon?
Lucky: I'm sure she'll tell you everything.
Lucky: Can we go to the place where I left my stuff?
----
-Wormhole Kyutama! Seiza Attack-
A wormhole appeared above Lucky before he undid his Ladybug transformation, and so did Kotaro.
Marinette: thank you for the help and ending Hawkmoth's reign.
Kotaro: We'll be going now *rides on Lucky's ride, behind the driver*
....This was a wild ride from start to finish

Drew these out of boredom
Tumblr media
This is Genis and Don Armage fused together, it was a what if form for a Kyu vs Zyuoh teamup that looks like won’t happen, an unknown entity revives the two big threats of baddies from two different worlds to control them, but they ultimately go at war with each other, eventually the two are fused together to create the ultimate form to battle both Sentai teams.
Tumblr media
This is Amber Zircon, she’s a minor villain from that old ‘Heroes in High school’ idea. She’s an empress with her own robotic army, but unknown is that she has a dark secret.
Tumblr media
This is Kamen Rider Snipe BB Tank Level 100, a what if form for Snipe if he used the Bang Bang Tank Gashat (shown in the Snipe miniseries) as a form as oppose to an attack move.
Tumblr media
This was my random attempt at making an Orphnoch form for Smart Lady, mostly based her design of of butterflies (despite there already being one, wish I remembered that earlier when drawing this, lol)
Tumblr media
This is Lupin Ugou, a what if form for the Lupinrangers if they did fuse like the Patrangers did when they used GoodStriker, did what I could despite lack of color.
Tumblr media
This is Kamen Rider Hitoki, a what if Rider form for Asumu’s friend Hitomi, not much to say here (other than forgetting to draw her weapons, whoops >_<)
Tumblr media
This was my weird attempt at making a battlizer for SMF Red, tried combining Goesei and Gokai red’s elements,it’s pretty dumb.
Tumblr media
This is my au attempt of Mika becoming a Kyuranger, giving her the coat and her own seiza blaster.
Tumblr media
This is my random attempt at a reboot design of Kikaider 01
Tumblr media
This is Kamen Rider V5, my attempt at making a fifth showa(ish) Rider, (somewhat like Sangou or Yongou, but minus the whole alternate timeline thing),She is one of many young students who were killed and turned to child cyborg soldiers by Nova Shocker (this was a random prequel idea to the Ichigo movie), she encounters Ichigo and battles him until she regains her memories and sees what she and her friends have become, realizing that her friends are now gone, she helps Ichigo (who gets his new form thanks to her) battle them and they part ways. Her vehicle is a jet ski (like KR Aqua) that can also become a motorcycle (it was made to correspond with Sangou’s car and Yongou’s plane, somewhat of a land, air and see motif).
Tumblr media
This is Ray Kureshima, a side villain  from that old ‘Heroes in High school’ idea. He works for Zenku as his top hunter of the Akaruijin.
Tumblr media
This is some weird attempt at making a female cyborg, doesn’t look as good as I had it in my mind though.
Tumblr media
This is another random attempt at a Kamen Rider Amazons/Devilman crossover design, this time with Ryo to come full circle.
Tumblr media
This is my attempt at a Kamen Rider Nico, after seeing this video online, it gave me the idea to draw this, her suit is mostly a remolded version of Mighty VRX and Diend Driver (with Gashat slot cause we know if this did happen it’d be heavily refurbished)
Tumblr media
This is my attempt at making a reboot movie version of the fan ranger based on Titanus, not that difficult, just had to come up with a different helmet design.
Tumblr media
This is a random fusion of two of my ocs Jack and Rena, I don’t know why but it just came to my mind.
Tumblr media
Here’s my second attempt at making Chaser cho, a what if form for Kamen Rider Chaser if he could use the Rhino Viral Core to transform in his Rider state.
Tumblr media
and last but not least, here’s my random attempt at drawing the main characters from that old ‘Heroes in High school’ idea in an alternate setting, I went with an rpg/medieval motif, from left to right there’s: Sara (Monk), Cam (Wizard), Jack (Paladin), Tom (Warrior) and Rena (Healer). It was a random idea that just popped into my mind, might do more like this soon.

Day 6: Your favorite Morpher
We’re talking about the changer, right? I’m just going to give a list because me being me, it’s too hard to list one XD
I really loved the Shodophones of Shinkenger, with that little brush to write the characters on their helmets!
Apparently Gokaiger’s is called a Mobirate. Little keys and the top half of the phone splits open into an X, if I remember correctly. That’s good design right there
Morphing Braces from Go-Buster were my obsession for the longest time
Kyuranger’s...*squints at the wiki article*...Transformation Controller Seiza Blaster. First of all, why is the name so long, and second of all, I can only summarize my feelings as “it’s cool”
Of course I’m going to mention the VS Changers of LuPato. The number of times I spent thinking about that gun was unhealthy
30 day sentai challenge - a thread
Day 1: Your Favourite Sentai
It can be the season with the worst toy sales, the season that’s the least popular, the season where plot is merely a decoration - but LuPato will always be dear to my heart
The moment I saw phantom thieves (because I adore Kaito Kid) advertised with this show, I knew I was a goner. Just not this far gone XD
I discovered with this season that while plot is important, I think characters are what carry a show. And they did - if only there were more specials because all of them have potential!!
W Red. Episode 30. Episode 37. Episode 49. *smacks down my cards and leaves the table*

Kyuranger OC: Fin- Iruka (Delphinus) Indigo (Backstory and Fun Facts)
Well, everyone else is doing this, so I guess I am, too
I feel ashamed at how long this is lol
Fin is from the Delphinus System (duh)
Before the original Rebellion (waaaaay before the Kyurangers) was really underway, her warm, beach planet was a popular place for refugees. One of those refugees was an orphaned little girl named Gill from the Pisces System.
Fin and her family adopted Gill, and they became immediate best friends.
Despite the odd looks from others about a humanoid family with a fish-like alien daughter, Gill became popular among the other kids for her water powers and her ability to light up some of her scales.
As the years went by, Gill became a sort of rebellion leader for the small planet. Fin played a support role, designing new weapons and armor for those doing the actual fighting. She would sometimes join them on missions to test her newly designed weapons herself.
One day, Gill, Fin, and their team receive a tip about a huge load of Jark Matter soldiers unloading supplies. Gill gets held up by the guards while Fin and the rest of the team go to take out the others. Unfortunately, the tip was a trick by one of the generals of Jark Matter. Fin and the rest of the team get fatally wounded in the fight.
Gill is too late to save the rest of the team, but Fin is still barely alive. Gill manages to fight off the rest of the foot soldiers and take Fin to a safe place. It’s too late to take Fin to a hospital, but Gill will not let her sister and her best friend in the world die because she couldn’t do anything.
Gills’ species can use their powers to heal others but at the cost of losing their power. Gill decides that Fin would do the same for her, so she sacrifices her power to save Fin.
Upon returning home, Gill tells Fin what happened and why she can’t use her powers anymore. Fin became so upset at the news her team was dead and her sister lost her powers that it took her awhile to calm down and realize her skin was glowing in some places. She had somehow gained Gills’ powers through her healing. Even more panic ensues.
After the incident, Fin learned of the Rebellion leader Shou Ronbou coming to her planet to look for new recruits. Fin knows she could be useful, so she tells Gill. She tries to tell Fin that happened wasn’t her fault, but Fin is still determined to go.
Gill tells Fin she’s proud of her and they have a heartfelt goodbye. Fin goes on to join Shou and Raptor on their mission to find the Kyurangers and defeat Jark Matter.
FINALLY, I’m done with the depressing backstory. Here are the fun facts:
Fin has long, black hair and wears glasses and a dark indigo yarn headband to keep her bangs back. She wears a sleeveless shirt with matching fingerless gloves under her uniform jacket and blue shorts with indigo sandals. She mostly dresses like this because it’s what she wore back at home, but the gloves are for when she’s working with machinery.
While Fin does have her sisters’ water powers, she is nowhere near as skilled with them as Gill.
Fin is a total Mom Friend™.
She’s a little reserved, but doesn’t hesitate to tell someone off or joke with the rest of the team.
Her personality type is INFP.
Fin regularly video chats with her family back home, including Gill, who monitors her sisters’ progress with her water powers.
She designed the Kyurangers’ specific weapons and tinkered with the designs for the Transformation Controller Seiza Blasters.
On her free time, she can be found in her room drawing. Sometimes it’s new weapons for new KyuTama or she’s just sketching random things.
Her wish that gave her the Iruka KyuTama was her realizing that she wanted to inspire a fighting spirit into those who were oppressed by Jark Matter just like her sister could by fighting along the Kyurangers herself.
Her weapon is the Kyu Kama.
She loves seafood because it reminds her of home.
Fin is more used to warmer, more tropical weather.
She can make certain spots on her skin light up at will, but she can’t "turn it off” when she’s surprised, scared, or angry.
While Gill could breathe underwater, Fin can’t. After several trial runs, however, they both learned that Fin can hold her breath for hours at a time.
Fin was originally going to be designed after my sign (Pisces), but after developing her backstory, I changed it to Delphinus so I could do a literal “Fish Out Of Water” concept.
Aaaaand that’s Fin! I’ll do one for Unari someday, but this took forever and my brain is fried. Hope you like it!

So
I’ve come up with my own Kyuranger OCs. I’ll make art for them later when I have the free time, but for now, here’s their information. For convenience sake I’ll be using both the “correct” way of naming them with their constellation’s Japanese name and the “translated” way ‘cuz I kinda like that way too. I’ll let you guys know that some of these OCs are inspired by my own constellation-themed toku-styled story that I had been making for years, but haven’t really done anything with it since I got busy with college and with other ideas (though I STILL plan on using it one day, even if people will think that I’m just ripping off Kyuranger). Hope you all enjoy the many, many Kyurangers I’ve made.
“Death/Burning Star, RoFlame/FornaxFlame!” (According to Wikipedia, “flame” is an actual color)
- Kirrn/RoFlame I: The first user of the Ro Kyutama, Kirrn was a Kyuranger who became evil after gaining a desire to trample those he viewed weaker than him (the original wish was to defeat Jark Matter and become the strongest). Hot-tempered and intelligent, Kirrn hunts down anyone he deems a target, which includes the Kyurangers, Jark Matter, and anyone in his way. He uses the Transformation Remote RoGunnon to change in RoFlame, and controls the Ro/Fornax Voyager that become the Roho-Oh on its own (it can combine with other Voyagers by folding its arms and legs away). As the name implies, the RoGunnon is a weapon that has a gun mode and a cannon mode, and his sidearm the KirinKnife (taken from a Kyuranger he killed) is able to combine with the barrel of the RoGunnon for a bayonet mode. His title as RoFlame is “Death Star”, though it was originally “Burning Star”. His finisher for all forms of the RoGunnon is the “Fornax Punishment”, where he fires a barrage of fireballs at his enemies.
Notes
Kirrn’s name is based on “kiln” and “kill”.
- Blast/RoFlame II: After Kirrn is killed by the Kyurangers in their final battle, the Ro Kyutama flies off and leads the Kyurangers to its new owner, a native from the same planet as Kirrn. While very eager to join the Kyurangers, he couldn’t get the Kyutama to work with the Seiza Blaster until he entered the second fight between the Kyurangers and his planet’s Daikaan, and in trying to activate the Ro Kyutama, summons the RoGunnon to his right hand, and joins the Kyurangers in defeating the Daikaan. Like Kirrn, he’s able to transform into RoFlame with the RoGunnon and controls the Ro/Fornax Voyager that can transform into the Roho-Oh. His title as RoFlame is “Burning Star”. His finisher for all forms of the RoGunnon is the “Forax Inferno”, where he fires a concentrated ball of fire at his enemy.
Notes
Blast’s name comes from “blast furnace”.
Both of the RoFlame’s unique costume quirk is that he’s got furnace stack-like shoulder armor, and his forearms and legs have furnace gates. Likewise, his visor is styled like a furnace gate as well.
“Shine Star, JuujiCrimson/CruxCrimson!” (personally I prefer Crux over “Minami Juuji”, so that’s what I’m going to use)
- Chryshiro/Original Holder of the Crux Kyutama: The Karo of the Crux System, Chryshiro was known as the weakest of the 88 Karo, but not because of his physical strength, but of his heart. He was perhaps the kindest of the Karo, making sure that his system’s people were well-cared for, moving them from planets that were planned to be drained of their Planesium while appointing Daikaan that shared his views. Because of this, he was often ridiculed by his fellow Karo, though he was just as strong as any of them. One day while visiting one of his planets he encountered the Kyurangers, and fought against them and won, imprisoning them. After making plans to depart from the planet with the Kyurangers to take them to Don Armage, the Kyurangers plague him with questions, since they saw that he took care of his people yet was still willing to do even deeds. After minutes of this, he reveals that he had thoughts about fighting Don Armage before, but ended up abandoning them when he realized how strong he was. They accuse him of being too afraid, that he gave up before trying. That’s when Kirrn attacked the planet, searching for the Kyurangers. With his forces being overwhelmed by Kirrn’s power, Chryshiro goes out to fight, telling his subordinates to free the Kyurangers to fight Kirrn if he alone isn’t enough. Despite putting up a good fight against Kirrn, it’s obvious that Chryshiro is more focused on making sure that the people of the planet are out of harm’s way, which lets Kirrn land a few good attacks, damaging his Enlarge Inro (assuming the Karo even use them). The subordinates watching over the Kyurangers decide to free them, and they join the fight. Lamenting his own weakness, Chryshiro looks around and sees the damage caused by the fighting, and wishes to protect the people. This wish creates the Crux Kyutama, but before he had the chance to use it, Kirrn directs his “Fornax Punishment” at a child and their parents. The already weakened Chyrshiro leaps into its way, and takes the full blunt of the attack. As he laid dying, he realized that with his death, the other Karo will be able to subjugate the Crux System however they want, and he begs the Kyurangers to defend them, handing them his Kyutama before succumbing to his wounds. The Kyurangers chase Kirrn off, and while pondering what to do with Chryshiro’s Kyutama, see that it’s shining a light in a certain direction, leading them to its future holder.
Notes
His name’s a combination of “Christ” and “Hero”, since he’s from the Crux constellation.
If you can’t tell I thought a LOT about Chryshiro, Rook, and CruxCrimson.
- Rook/JuujiCrimson/CruxCrimson: A native of a desert planet near the edge of the Crux System, Rook had a vision months ago telling him to build a strange weapon-like device. A tinkerer by trade, Rook was able to get the materials he needed for the device easily, though his friends and family were concerned with the fact that he had the vision in the first place. While agreeing with them, Rook managed to finish building the device, and started carrying it around as a good luck charm until the day the Kyurangers came to his planet, looking for the user of the Crux Kyutama. When they find Rook and realize that the device he made looked like it could use Kyutamas, he was reluctant to join since he just wanted to live peacefully with his family and friends, when the Jark Matter attacked, followed by Kirrn. Realizing that the planet he loved was in danger, he takes the Crux Kyutama, and attaches it to the base of his device, transforming into the Shine Star, CruxCrimson. After chasing Jark Matter off and forcing Kirrn to retreat, Rook joins the Kyurangers in order to protect everyone’s homes. As CruxCrimson, he uses the Transformation Cross Cruxaber and the Crux Kyutama to transform and fight, and the Crux Voyager, which can transform into CrossOh, which has its own arms but can fold them away to combine with the other Voyagers to become Great CrossOh. The Cruxaber has four modes, sword, spear, axe, and gun. His finisher name for all of the Cruxaber modes is the “Crux Brilliance”: For Cruxaber Sword Mode it’s a powerful slash of light. For Cruxaber Spear Mode it’s a series of stabs powered by light. For Cruxaber Gun Mode it’s a blast of light. For Cruxaber Axe Mode it’s a strong smash of light.
Notes
Rook is based on “Luke”, as in “Luke Skywalker”, not the chess piece.
As CruxCrimson, I imagine him having gauntlets and boots that have crosses as his unique costume trait, and his face is a stylized cross. Overall, his aesthetic is pretty knight-like.
The Cruxaber’s shaped like a cross, to match with the whole cross theme.
I can’t draw robots well, especially if they’re suppose to follow an established aesthetic, but I imagine CrossOh’s arms to be similar to Go-buster Ace’s with the way they fold to combine.
“Teaching Star, SankakuTeal/TriangulumTeal!”
- Pytha/SankakuTeal: An android tutor from the Triangulum System, Pytha had spent her entire life teaching the children of the wealthy of her planet, not realizing that the majority of the population was illiterate until she was convinced by her students to take them out to the market so that they could see what they had. Horrified by this revelation, she went to her Daikaan in order to persuade her to let her teach the poor, but was denied and sentenced to reprogramming in order to remove her memories. While she was being led away, the Kyurangers came and fought. In that moment of confusion, she ran away from her captors, and managed to find the Kyurangers, begging them to take her away, wishing to teach those uneducated when the Sankaku Kyutama appeared to her. As SanakuTeal, she uses the Sankaku Kyutama and Seiza Blaster to transform, while using her personal SankakuSpinner weapon to fight, and she pilots the Sankaku Voyager which can turn into a limb for any of the robots. Her finisher is “Sankaku Spinisher”, where she rapidly spins with her SankakuSpinner in its current mode to attack. The SankakuSpinner Sword Mode is a spinning slash (best for one opponent), Gun Mode is a spinning tornado of lasers (best for crowds of enemies), Whip Mode she ties any of the Kyurangers for a combined spinning attack (which very few of them are willing to do since it makes them dizzy).
Notes
Pytha’s name comes from “Pythagoras”.
The SankakuSpinner is an arm-mounted weapon that can change modes depending on which point is over the hand. There are three modes in all: Sword, Gun, and Whip.
The Sankaku Voyager is basically a Tenbin Voyager remold, except the shields are triangular instead.
Honestly I’m torn between “Spinning Star” and “Teaching Star” for her. “Spinning Star” because that’s her thing, and “Teaching Star” because she’s a teacher.
Her unique costume quirk is that she has a noticeable triangle pattern on her suit’s midriff and back that’s a shade darker than the rest of her costume.
“Mini Star, HaeAmber/MuscaAmber!”
- Apys/HaeAmber: A fly-girl from the Musca System, Apys is a thief with the ability to control her dimensions (meaning that not only can she become small, but she can also reduce her body’s thickness to that of paper; likewise, she can become huge) who idolizes the BN Thieves and follows in their footsteps as a “good” thief robbing only from Jark Matter. While on a planet stealing from its Daikaan’s office, she comes across her idols who had been sneaking around to find the Daikaan’s plans (as well as any treasure they could sneak off with), and she follows them in her small form, catching a ride with Balance in his Tenbin Voyager. When she finally revealed herself to the Kyurangers (who she proceeded to idolize over when she found out that Balance and Naga were a part of their group), she decides to join them, though they were reluctant (Balance loved the attention from her, though, enough to try and convince everyone to let her join, and Lucky was always ready to welcome anyone in). She proved her worth when she risked her life getting the plans from the Daikaan (who turned out to had been sleeping with them in his pocket), and nearly died fighting him, though her wish to be a part of the BN Thieves (and the Kyurangers by extension) allowed the Hae Kyutama to appear. Like the other members of the Kyurangers, she uses the Seiza Blaster to transform, uses the Kyu Rapier and Kyu Shot to fight, and controls the Hae Voyager, which unlike the other Voyagers, combines with the back of the robots to give them flight (pretty much what the Washi Voyager toy can do). Her finisher is the “Musca Impact” which is a variant on both Hami’s and Raptor’s finisher depending on what mode she’s using.
Notes
If you’re wondering what she looks like, she’s pretty much like Rachnera from “Daily Life with Monster Girls”, only without the huge boobs (if by just a little : P) and is a fly instead of a spider.
Apys comes from “Apis”, the original name of the Musca constellation.
Her unique costume quirk is that she has fly wings on her back, and two smaller arms that she keeps crossed her torso. But they are fully functional, and can hold more weapons. In fact, I’d have her dual-wield Kyu Rapiers and Kyu Shots if the Kyurangers could use more than one set.
“Artisan Star, GakaJet/PictorJet!”
- Canvas/GakaJet: An artist with a photographic memory from the Pictor System, Canvas had been struggling with creating art for a while, if only because he’s been stuck on his planet for years making portraits of his vain Daikaan to the point where he can just finish one within the hour without even glancing at him. Frustrated at the lack of creativity and his own planet’s lack of beautiful scenery (it was almost completely drained of its Planesium), Canvas’s life changed when the Kyurangers came to his planet. Upon seeing the “grace” of their fighting, he ends up stopping them from going back to the Orion and begs them to let him paint them. After finishing their painting and realizing that there’s more to the universe that he wants to capture in his art, the Gaka Kyutama appears to him, and he joins the Kyurangers in order to save the universe’s beauty. Canvas uses his personal Pictor Belt that he and Rook made (since he wanted to stand out) to transform, is armed with the Pictor Set (basically weaponized versions of artist tools), and controls the Pictor Voyager, which arms any robot he combines with with an array of artist tools. His finisher is “Pictor Stroke”, where he strikes his enemies with a series of brushstrokes with the brush weapon from his Pictor Set.
Notes
Canvas name is obviously from the word “canvas”.
“Jet” is a shade of black if you’re all wondering.
His unique costume quirk is that he has the Pictor Belt which is basically an artist’s belt, and that he has “paint splotches” on his arms.

It's Valentine's Day! Since I'm not celebrating (why should I? It's a commemoration of someone's death! And I don't even know the guy ;D), here's the recap-view for "Uchu Sentai Kyuranger"'s debut episode that I've promised two days ago! Hey, I did say that the show felt like a LOVE letter to space opera genre. So it fits! Ahahaha.....
- Our episode begins with a quick shot of Earth. A very quick one. I didn't pay much attention about it before, but now that I've seen again... well, it bugs me a little. We know that Kyuranger cannonically takes place 'after' "Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger". Not directly, but probably years, or at least a decade apart. Problem is, this Earth looks... odd. I mean, putting the ending of Zyuohger into consideration, Earth should've looked... different, right? It's too bad, because TOEI could've easily used this fact to establish some sort of continuity between both series. Of course, this is just a minor nitpick for now, and I might be overthinking stuff (as always). But I do hope this will be addressed later. By the way, the theme of this season is 'GLOBE'. And note what those Earthling boy is playing? A blue ball. LOL. Not very subtle, eh TOEI? But don't mind that, because the setting takes place in an entirely different galaxy. Yep, just like Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy". - If you ask me, this season is promising from the get-go. Why? That shot with all of those constellations is more than enough to make me geek out. To be precise, the "Saint Seiya" fan in me. Hahaha... I'm just kidding, of course. The reason is because it doesn't waste time and immediately gets into action. Space action! Our first planet is Planet Clothos, and the evil Space Shogunate Jark Matter is already hard at work to demonstrate its threat. Destructions everywhere! Civilians in danger! Those spacecrafts... you know what they remind me of? TIE Fighters from the "Star Wars" series. - Champ the Taurus Black (VA: Akio Ootsuka, who is the voice of Solid Snake in "Metal Gear Solid" series!), Hammy the Chamaeleon Green (Sakurako Ookubo), and Sparda the Dorado Yellow (Tetsuji Sakakibara) debut! Respectively, their official numbering and titles are #5 The Ring Star, #7 The Shinobi Star, and #9 The Food Mei-Star. Over-Time chooses to use the official Constellation Names in their translation, instead of its Japanese. Not too sure about "Kyutama" as "Kyu Globe", but I'm totally digging this approach. I'll be using the same format in my recap-view too. - Hammy and Sparda look a bit... nervous, but let's ignore that. The more important thing is that they are ALREADY Kyurangers! I know we'll be getting their individual backstories along the way, that's inevitable. But I really prefer this approach better than having an origin story. The duration of their transformation and roll call are short, but effective. Not to mention, those constellation symbols look amazing too. Why so short? There are only 3 members so far, just imagine how long it'll take when all 9 have been assembled! Oh and yeah, they descend to Clothos' surface using their "Voyagers". The globe-shaped cockpits are comfortably released to land them on the ground. And I'm totally loving this mechanism. - All the while, snarky Raptor283 (VA: M.A.O., who is none other than Gokai Yellow herself!) is guiding them from the Starship Enterpr... I mean, mothership "Orion". She's the pilot of this huge spacecraft. We know that she's a Kyuranger too, but it looks like that's not the case yet in this episode. Orion itself is a huge ship with a statue of a bearded man holding a torch on its front, with 9 ports on the back, globe-shaped part. That torch seemingly serves as the control room, while the ports are likely to store the Voyagers. It has the constellation symbols of our current Kyurangers. - Enter Lucky (Takumi Kizu), who is hovering through space on his... Speeder? Another "Star Wars" nod? Not just that, his costume looks a little similar to... a StormTrooper! And wait a sec... his name, its similarity to a particular "Star Wars" protagonist is just too good to be called coincidence. As suspected from the teasers, this guy is LOUD and well, generally an annoying-type for my taste. He already reminds me of Kai Ozu / Magi Red, and also Takaharu Igasaki / AkaNinger... the latter which is NOT a good sign. Gotta love his optimism though! He came from "Planet Luth", and makes one flashy entrance to the episode. While thinking that true to his name, he's simply... LUCKY. LOL. - Opening Sequence! And this first version (since only 3 Kyurangers are shown together as group) has a nice ring to it too. Maaan, TOEI is REALLY inspired by "The Avengers", eh? I mean, that 360 degrees battle shot? Yep! They even wrap it up with a very cool closing pose. Speaking of music, not just the Opening, this episode has great background music too. It immediately reminds me of "Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger". Which actually makes sense, considering Kyuranger and Dekaranger should technically exist in an era that isn't far off from one another. - Should I be surprised? Sparda is the Orion's chef! He might look nervous before, but not anymore. And great gawd, I'm loving all the cooking-references he makes in his dialogues. Champ is a bodybuilder, eventhough he's a robot who doesn't need one. And Hammy, well... looks like she's a bit sarcastic. So... WOW. We certainly never had a snarky-sarcastic combo for our females before! As for Lucky? This guy boldly proclaims that he wants to join the team... without even knowing anything about who they are, or what they are doing. Just a whimsical action, but a good one. I mean, who could even dare hate this guy, especially when he's spewing out confusions with those 'dumb expressions'? *sigh*. But really, as I've said before, although Lucky seemed annoying at first, his whole 'being lucky' gag, and plain 'ditzy' traits makes for genuine hillarious moments! - Our gang is called the "Rebellion", the sole organization that is resisting to Jark Matter. Aaah yes, another "Star Wars" nod. In order to do so, they need to locate the Nine Saviors chosen by the Kyutam, er... Kyu Globes. Legendary Heroes called Kyurangers, who will save the universe. There are only 3 so far, but Lucky thinks they are in luck, because he's going to be the 4th. Yep, 'going to', because he needs to find a Kyu Globe first. LOL. He even grabs the "Constellation Blaster" (Seiza Blaster) in advance. "What a nutcase", remarks Champ. "Spot On", I say. XD. - The Jark Matter is certainly a force that shouldn't be underestimated! Its Darth Vader-esque prime leader, Shogun of the Space Shogunate Don Almage (VA: Atsuki Tani) doesn't waste time to show how ruthless and terrifying he can be. His general, the Malicestrate of Sagittarius System, Eridron (VA: Takaya Kuroda, that heavy voice of Kazuma Kiryuu in the "Yakuza" game series) is already punished for his failure to deal with the Kyurangers. WHAT. A. GREAT. SIGHT! It has been a while since we last saw a Super Sentai big boss demonstrating his menace right away, huh? A solid improvement over Master Genis. - Second destination, Planet Jugjug. This already feels like "Star Trek", huh? And Lucky is well indeed, lucky. Because his wish to locate a new Kyu Globe is immediately answered as soon as he land... er, crashes to the planet. Its a Blue-colored one, and belongs to a wolfman who doesn't hesitate to give Lucky a piece of his mind! The equally blue-colored wolfman with heterochromia eyes is Garu (VA: Doumeki-kun... I mean, Kazuya Nakai, who is more familiarly known as... ZORO XD). The last of his kind because his clan was annihilated by Jark Matter. Good backstory, but I hope this is not the full extent of it. We still have 40 more episodes, right? We learn here that a Kyu Globe needs to be awaken first, and well, Garu is too pessimistic to do so. Of course, Lucky's sincerety and passion manages to move his sense of justice. - Uhm, scratch that. It works wonder for Lucky first. Attempting to distract the Jark Matter army, Lucky is thrown away to space. Don't you feel this scene looks... similar? Yep, just like what happened to Peter Quill / Star-Lord in "Guardians of the Galaxy". Anyway, this condition luckily awakens his own power. Lucky obtains the firey Leo Kyu Globe! Looks like meteor shower has become his signature item too, as he rides one while transforming into #1 The Super Star Leo Red. "Talk about lucky!", huh? But that's not all. He is also capable to perform a special finisher, "Regulus Impact". And when Chamaeleon Green and Dorado Yellow each summon the Chamaeleon Voyager and Dorado Voyager to help fend the attack on Orion, Leo Red stumbles upon the "Say the Go" function and awakens his Leo Voyager as well. And it has much bigger size than the others! SOOO LUCKY! LOL. - Continuing the trend of rivalry between Red and Blue, Garu is inspired by Lucky, and awakens his own Lupus Kyu Globe. #3 The Beast Star Lupus Blue debuts, and fights together with Taurus Black. The silly thing here, is that the two haven't even introduced themselves to one another. But it doesn't take long for Leo Red to steal back attention, as he luckily stumbles upon the "Say the Docking" function and well, accidentally docks Chamaeleon and Dorado Voyagers (whose pilots are completely dumbfounded about this ability) to his Voyager, and form "Kyuren-Oh". A legless version, that is! Hahaha. This is neat, and I just have to praise that rotating cockpit once again. Because I really love its flexibility! - Doesn't take long for Taurus Voyager and Lupus Voyager to be dragged into the battle. A complete-form Kyuren-Oh is formed, and the Kyurangers have to deal with the giant Jark Matter goon... on the surface of Jugjug's icy moon. Yep, this is the benefit of a Space-themed story. The show's not bound to do the mecha fight on miniature cities anymore. The writers and directors can let their imagination runs wild. Of course, there's got to be an obvious boost of cost for production design and CG. So I hope the show won't run off steam quickly because of it. Anyways, that "Kyuren-Oh! Star Break!" attack looks reaaally good. This mecha battle is sooo exciting, I feel so giddy! XD - New uniform for Lucky and Garu! This once again reminds me of "Guardians of the Galaxy". And also "Voltron Legendary Defender". Five Kyurangers down, that means four more to go. Will we be getting the other chosen ones, one by one in the next episodes? Nope, because two more candidates have already shown up, eating at a Cosplay Caf... er, the Mos Eis... uhm, diner on Planet Jagama. And they seem interested with the bounty of the Rebellions. By the way, who is that on the TV? I wonder why he somehow looks... familiar? Hmmmm. - The ending dance is beyond FUN! I mean, sure, either it's going to be a huge hit, or gets tired really fast, is anyone's guess. But with that catchy lyrics, fun 90s disco tune, the simple, easy to memorize, and highly addictive choreography, along with the funky millenial repetitive format? I think people are going to dig it. Heck, I liked this a lot more than the Opening. LOL. Ninninger had a cool choreo movements, Zyuohger had a puntastic tune, but their whole 'counting fireworks' and 'guessing cube color' didn't work for me. This one's different. Similar to Kyuren-Oh's limb-changing gimmick, I can already see the maaany variations of this ending sequence. Especially if Lucky and Garu (who both made their debut in this episode. Notice how they are taking the highlights in the dance?) are any indication. If TOEI is not holding back, of course. Because similar to the Opening Sequence, this means the Ending will need to be updated each week as well, until all 9 Kyurangers are part of the team. And I'm not counting future members... assuming there will be any *grins*. Also, that fisheye shot gives the sensation of a 3D 360 degrees style. I see what you're doing there, TOEI! Hahaha...
Overall: I enjoyed the episode when I first saw it live, and I loved it even better the second time around. There were clear influences from both "Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger" (the big composition and diversity of the team), and particularly its US counterpart "Power Rangers Dino Charge" (notice the similarities in the plot? powerful items from space?). But I genuinely enjoyed both, so I don't mind. Lucky was initially grating on my nerves, but surprisingly, at the end, I just can't hate him. Let's just hope the writers will pull off wonders with him, so he won't end up disappointing like several past Reds. Not just him, this goes to the other members too. They are all rife with personal backstories to be explored, so I hope this potential won't be wasted aways. The main storyline itself is promising, and I hope it will be utilized to optimum level. Eventhough the mecha looked a bit bulky, this show can play up numerious variations of mecha combinations, since every other non-Red Voyagers can take turns to become different limbs (similar to "Kamen Rider OOO"). To sum it up, it really felt that TOEI is going all out with this season, and I really appreciate it. As I said on my First Impression, this was an excellent first episode. TOEI nailed it wonderfully. Of course, the big challenge had only just begun. Can they keep the hype up, maintain the quality, and even better, make it even more stronger and better? Remember, this is still a year-round show, so things can change and fluctuate along the way. And the Super Sentai franchise isn't actually bulletproof in this matter. Yes, we had seen many seasons that started out bland and dull, but morphed into a great one halfway through. But on the other hand, there were also ones that showed promise, but teetered out as it went along. Which side will Kyuranger place itself in? Let's just wait and see... Next week: The dynamic of the BN Thieves! Han So... uhm, I mean, Balance and Naga-Ray arrive!!!
Episode 01 Score: 8,2 out of 10

Kyuranger 3, Ex-Aid 20 & Dragon Blood 8 thoughts (Spoilers)
Well now it’s time we catch up on our recent Toku shows. Last Time: the Kyurangers meet two thieves who would later become part of their team when the Kyutama’s choose them. Meanwhile, Ex-Aid isn’t feeling like himself.so Hiro decides to take action and use the new Gashat to do Emu’s job and get him back. Meanwhile, Zero and the others battle Edel in getting the Dragon Egg back, but at the cost of their new ally. With all that said, what’s gonna happen next? let’s find out.

Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger episode 3:
Champ has a nightmare of someone attacking him, he wakes up and Raptor introduces them to Commander Xiao Longbao, who gives them many Kyutama’s and tells them that Planet Needle is in trouble.
So they enter the planet to fight Jark Matter’s ship and battle the grunts. A mystery man appears and Champ remembers him, he transforms and Champ charges at him, but he loses and the others get stung.
Champ is angered by what happened and tells Lucky that that Stinger killed the professor that created him. Eridron tries to persuade Stinger into joining Jark Matter, later Champ goes to find Stinger by himself.
The two fight each other and Lucky stops it, telling Champ to stop his revenge on a fellow Kyuranger, so Lucky fights Stinger and Jark Matter interrupt the battle, which ticks off Stinger.
They defeat the Daikaan, Kyuren-Oh battles Moraimarz Robo while Champ fights Stinger but he escapes. Later, Lucky still believes that Stinger will join them soon. Stinger swears to defeat the Kyuranger.
Next Time: Too much Pink energy is dangerous
Overall I did not like this episode, which sucks cause their was a lot of potential that was wasted. Let’s start with the bad to get it out of the way, starting with the introduction of commander Xiao Longbao, who just arrives and says that he’s in charge now, you think he would’ve been in charge since the beginning, but no, but then he reveals he has a lot of Kyutama’s that he’s found. Really? you just shove all these power-up Kyutama’s in one episode? This is a lousy way of incorporating the show’s toy gimmick into the series, heck Drive did a better job and their toys just arrive for convenience (in the first half of the series). Long himself feels like he’s just there for convenience, though we know he’s gonna do more later in the series (which I hope is handled well). Another issue I have is that how did Stinger get the Seiza Blaster? cause it’s been established that the others were given theirs thanks to Raptor 283, but maybe it’ll be explained in a later episode (I hope) . Another issue I have is how this episode changes character focus from Champ to Lucky for no reason other than have the Red take the spotlight in battling the new Kyuranger by himself, this could’ve been handled much better if they had Lucky give Champ advice, which reminds him of Professor Anton’s words of wisdom, so he gets back up and fights stinger not for revenge, but for justice, that would’ve been a way better scene than what we got, but instead we got Lucky getting focus and getting to use a new Gemini Kyutama thanks to Raptor rather than Champ, who was the one who should’ve earned it. Also the fact that the other Kyurangers get better from Stingers poison in a few moments was just badly done. Now that I got that out of my chest, let’s talk about the few good things in this episode to end on a more positive note, other than how they ignore him by the third act, I did enjoy that we get to see Champs backstory and how he’s met Stinger before and wonders how did he become a Kyuranger as well as his vendetta against him for killing his creator. While I’m not linking Lucky so far, I’ll give him this, it was smart of him to use the Shishi Voyager to help the others escape Stinger and return to their base for treatment, it wasn’t him relying on his luck or him being dumb, this was him quickly thinking on his feet and shows that this guy might have a chance in getting some development and character growth (I don’t want to hate this guy fully like with Right or Takaharu years ago). One thing I also liked and didn’t expect them to do was have the Jark Matter’s Moraimarz ship transform to a mecha, which I’m not gonna lie, it looks really awesome, I hope Bandai makes a toy of it soon. I was also surprised that Stinger/ Scorpio Ranger doesn’t immediately join the hero side, but instead is now working with Jark Matter, a neat change of pace which will probably give them time to develop the others soon. This series is beginning to feel like a mess and I’m disappointed in myself cause everyone I know says that this series is getting good and that it’s fun, but I don’t feel any of that, this series has a lot of potential and I feel it’s shoving it away with it’s poor pacing and story choices. I’m still gonna keep watching in hopes of it getting better soon. Can’t wait for the next episode, where Raptor 283 decides to take action, sort of and find her will to help the team as Washi Pink.

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid episode 20:
Nico tricks Taiga into going to a theme park to cheer him up and find Daisuke infected with a virus. meanwhile, Emu becomes concerned about his condition until they get an alert on a new patient.
They arrive and the Bugster appears, so Brave battles it, Emu hesitates and the Bugster retreats. Pallad appears to see Brave’s strength, but his power overwhelms him and Pallad leaves, then Taiga takes the Gashat.
Emu explains that he fears the Bugster taking over when he transforms. Daisuke explains that he tried to get over his fear of rides for his new girlfriend, so they try to help him out, but the Bugster takes control.
Hiro wakes up and Taiga tells him that he’ll use the Gashat while he rests. Genm provokes Emu from using the Gashat. Taiga arrives and becomes Snipe Simulation to battle the Bugster and the jets.
Emu decides to take a risk and transformto Mighty Brothers and battle Genm while Snipe defeats the Bugster. Daisuke is glad that he’s cured. elsewhere Dan explains to Pallad that his Gashat’s also Level X.
Next Time: the pursuit of Power!
Overall I Liked this episode, it was cool seeing Nico somewhat try to cheer Taiga up, even if he was tricked into believing that a Bugster was around there, though that begs the question on why did he fall for her tricks? but I give it a pass as it turns out there was someone infected. I did like how Emu was a bit hesitant in transforming and fearing that he’ll lose control of himself because of the Bugster in him, which is pretty understandable, finding out that you have a disease or a virus is a scary thought especially with how it affects your life. I also liked Daisuke’s subplot (his name isn’t mentioned iirc) on how he got the virus from the stress of wanting to overcome his fear of rides for his new girfriends, which is pretty relatable for most of us, the fear of rides is a common fear as well as the embarrassment for having it, heck I’ve had it on a few occasions and felt embarrassed in a few occasions. I did like how Asuna decided to take action and help Daisuke man up in taking on his fears, with hilarious and disastrous results. Now to talk about Snipe Bang Bang Simulation, it looks silly and I like it for that, especially with how overpowered it it, the debut battle alone reminded me of Kachidoki’s debut from Gaim. I also liked how Emu got over his situation and decided to transform and fight thanks to Taiga’s telling him to just give up, only to encourage him not to give up. I didn’t want to say it, but I felt this fight is what this weeks episode of Kyuranger should’ve been, having both characters share the spotlight in defeating the enemy (almost like a team). I also liked how Dan explained to Pallad that he decided to make Dangerous Zombie his Gashat is because it isn’t just Level 10, it’s Level X, which gives him an advantage in staying around (that and that it’s unknown). This episode isn’t perfect though, some parts felt a bit rushed and the fact Hiro had to bring up Saki again was kind of random, you’d think he’d be over that since they defeat Graphite long ago, but other than that it was still and enjoyable episode. I feel Ex-Aid is getting more and more better while also retaining the fun aspect it has had for a while, even when the series has it’s dark moments, it knows when to balance it out so far and I hope it can keep this up as it progresses. Can’t wait for the next episode, where Emu talks with Dan Masasume, we get some backstory and Genm Zombie’s true power is unleashed.

Zero Dragon Blood episode 8:
At a Prayer Bell, Fukuda is greeted by Lyra, who grants him his wish of seeing his family again, at the cost of his live. Elsewhere, Rei and the others have a funeral for Kagome.
Rekka tells them to hold onto the egg until the tribunal’s decision.  Rei tells Alice to leave since she’s needs to live a normal life. Later, Rei trains while Alice takes a pic of him and asks for a favor.
Lyra grants Michiru’s wish of marraige before devouring her. meanwhile, Alice spends the day with Rei, taking pics of him and the town. Rei gets word from the tribunal that someone will come to get it tomorrow.
Alice asks Rei what is his dream and asks who protects his happiness, Later, they arrive at the Prayer Bell until Lyra appears and shows them their wish and tries to manipulate his mind mind.
She reveals her true form, so Rei transforms and destroys her weak spot. The next day,  Alice tells Rei she wants to know more about him, but is told to go, unaware that took the egg, which began to hatch.
Next Time: Motherhood
Overall I found this episode to be interesting, it was nice of them to make a grave for Kagome, it still sucks they killed her off that early. it was interesting to see that Hanazumi decided to join with Rekka, I wonder if they’re gonna bring her up in later seasons. While it was a bit harsh that Rei told Alice to just leave, it is understandable since she’s just a regular girl and the one thing she was only needed for was completed, but fate had other plans. I did enjoy how they spent time together for a day before she had to leave, showing some small growth in their character. I feel this is the series’s attempt at making the next Kouga/Kaoru type of relationship, but I feel that it isn’t as strong as that relationship because that had more time to develop and grow, while here it feels a bit meh-ish. Though I did enjoy the battle between Lyra and Rei, also her Horror form is pretty creepy in motion. Then there’s the ending where Alice decided to take the Dragon egg, that was pretty dumb of her since now that makes her an open target. sure they assume that Edel is dead, but there could be others after it, but I’ll admite the baby Dragon is creep-ishly adorable, This series is taking an interesting turn, but with only a few episodes left how will it end? we’ll just have to wait and see. Can’t wait for the next episode, where Alice interacts with the baby dragon, Rei goes to find her, a mysterious woman appears to go after Alice and it’s up to Rei and Rekka to stop her.
