I read too many stories of "women" throughout history who lived as men and wore men's clothing getting beaten and arrested for it, sensationalized in the press as "man-woman," painted as perverts and monsters, put in literal freakshows, and forcibly institutionalized to sit by quietly while non-transmascs loudly and confidently claim that "female masculinity" has never been targeted as much as "male femininity" has. Read some trans and queer history that isn't only about gay men and trans women before you open your mouths about butches and transmascs, or better yet just listen to us about our history and experiences in the first place.
#not to mention the modern day lived experiences of trans men and mascs we are always trying to tell you about#I get laughed at and called a dyke for the way I present but yeah sure non transmasc tumblr user you definitely know my life better than me#I've compiled a reading/re-reading list for myself using material from my trans studies classes & over the next couple weeks#I'll be posting some important bits from them that illustrate some of these situations I've learned about once I have more details#trying not to engage with transandrophobes online but when this rhetoric is coming directly from trans academics it's like :/#transandrophobia#mine

💚 Smoshblr December Wrapped #2 💚
Who are smoshblr's favourite crew members?
Our winner by direct votes is Gen Z rep Erin Dougal
With musical talent Josh Fleury coming in second! 🙏
And queen Kiana & Garret both tying for third place 🧡💙
Since Spencer and Tommy are sorta grey area between smosh & crew, a lot of ppl named their as their faves, while also picking a top 3 amongst the crew members who spent less time on camera. So that is why these two still ended up on top for this question. 🫶🩵
So here are the top 11 most voted crew members:
Since there are so many ppl working hard behind the scenes at smosh, there was a wide selection to choose from, by the lovely ppl participating in the smoshblr dec challenge 🫶
So to make sure, everyone gets their due appreciation 💕
Here are the top 12-22 crew members:
Also honorable mentions to Erica, Greg, Lizzie, Sarah Whittle and Mallory for each receiving one vote as well💚
#smoshblr december wrapped#smosh#the people have spoken: so smosh crew it is 🤗#I'll prob prepare for smosh characters next since that was the runner up 💙#but y'all can also always request certain stats to be covered sooner if there are any that really interest you! 🫶#also trying to find pictures for everone on the second list made me realize how many of their last names I didn't know?!#like patrick's is mcdonald?! what?!#spencer agnew#tommy bowe#erin dougal#josh fleury#garrett palm#kiana parker#alex tran#zoe moacanin#heidi ha#selina garcia#peter ditzler#kortney luby#kimmy jimenez#Marcus Munguia#Rock Coleman#tim baker#alex aguilar#rachel evans#patrick mcdonald#smosh crew

They have now clearly stated they want to ban trans health care for everyone, at every age. Their stated plan is to go after it incrementally, so people won't be as likely to resist. We have to stop them - vote these people out of office. We have to vote against Republicans/conservatives like our lives depend on it - because they do. They're coming for us, all of us. They've said it out loud and publicly.
#current events#us politics#trans rights#vote against republicans#vote blue#anti trans legislation#they want to ban transitioning for everyone#trans adults are next on their list

I've been reading a lot recently and it's been making me think deeply about how I perceive myself. Being trans I've kinda just thought of myself as a sort of in-between gender state not male anymore but also not quite female either, my (mostly) lack of day to day passing due to genetic markers (that I am dealing with but slowly (laser takes a while and voice trainings a bitch with no resources)) have never really let me feel like I could 'claim womanhood' or something to that effect like I don't deserve to be a girl until people around me can't perceive me as anything else and it's kinda stupid!
I didn't start to transition just so I could be something in between, I didn't retrain myself to talk and walk and grow tits just to hide them, I didn't shame my family and open myself up to hate crimes to NOT be a girl.
I need to start being true to myself and start properly considering myself as a damn girl, I fought to claim this gender and I need to start acting like I actually deserve it because I do.
I am a girl and no one can take that from me.
#mine#personal development#trans#next on my list of improvements#getting friends who arent men#because i literally dont talk to a single woman outside of my family thanks to an incredibly insular work/home life#my work is full of men and our clients are all men#the last time i felt any solidarity with anyone was when the sweet girl from jersey was asking if they treated me well at work#like she was genuinely concerned about me and that felt nice

i just need to make it to shabbat i just need to make it to shabbat i just need
#😵💫😵💫😵💫#short response due tmrw ; seminar presentation potentially tmrw WHICH I ONLY JUST REMEMBERED ; short seminar quiz to do before friday ;#latin club “homework” which im probably gonna tell my friend i cant continue w bc my weekly workload is already too overwhelming w 3 courses#+ i have to have by thrice yearly lunch w my evangelical godmother which means 3 hour convo half dedicated to getting me to abandon judaism#and half to getting me to repent my sinful homosexual ways and go back to being a nice straight girl#all of which is going to happen in public and she WILL tear up at multiple points of the conversation and it WILL be supremely awkward#when people inevitably start eavesdropping bc let's be real if i were at a cafe overhearing this convo i would be listening in too#and everyone's like 'ugh why dont you just tell her to fuck off' but im the only trans person and the only observant jew she has ever met#two groups against which she already has so many preconceived notions so like. idk it feels like my responsibility#as someone who knows her and who she acc cares about (vs a stranger) to try and give her a different perspective on these things ???#like if me being patient and calmly explaining why i transitioned/why i converted can stop her even slightly from sliding even further right#(and like she's Right Wing like covid denial right wing)#and if it might mean the next trans person or whtvr that she interacts with has it slightly easier then like. sure j can sit through#a couple irritating hours every few months#but its just suuuch a shit time for it like im meeting her thursday after class when i have a massive fucking assignment to hand in on sat#which FUCK gotta add that to the list#☞ annotated bibliography due saturday aka friday bc shabbos#okay okay. im done losing my mind in the notes 😵💫👍🏻#p.s.

"the younger generations are idiots who can't think straight. science says that there are only two genders except for rare genetic cases" so anyway 1.7% of the global population is intersex (the same percentage of red-haired people globally) and 0.5% have clinically identifiable sexual or reproductive variations. that's 134 million people that your version of science has othered and 39 million people (more than the population of afghanistan) actively being robbed or have been robbed of their bodily integrity. add to that the fact that there is significant overlap between the behaviour, body shape and size of those categorized at the two ends of the binary, and that gender has almost always been related to a person's role, interactions and presentation in their social and personal life, this whole statement really only paints your scientific understanding in a bad light. also, bad choice on calling people "idiots" because of their gender presentation because guess what science says about the benefits of creating an accepting and supportive environment that promotes gender euphoria. want to be a useful human being contributing good to society? start saying nice things and brush up on your science
#written by the rage and disappointment i felt when my classmate said this with me (who has they/them pronouns listed in my uni account)#and no one bothered to say anything to the contrary#ok to be fair they did quickly divert the convo when i said 'well tbf there are intersex people' which good for them#for trying to avoid workplace conflict i guess but#just ugh :/#trans#intersex#non binary#transphobia#tw transphobia#*with me next to him

GLOW UP GUIDE FOR 2025⠀
READ: On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And considering that 2025 is precisely these many days away, why not start with our glow up plan already?
Physical Glow Up-
BODY
— 5-10K steps a day.
— 7-8 hours of sleep.
— workout everyday for 1 hr atleast- yoga/stretching/pilates/cardio. a workout may take one hour, but your mood will be boosted for the next 12 hours.
— posture training.
— sunlight exposure after waking up for at least 10 minutes.
NUTRITION
— 2-3 liters of water every day.
— limit your caffeine intake.
— avoid sugars as much as you can.
— high protein diet, pre and probiotics.
— more fruits and veggies (+ green smoothies if you like).
— no junk/processed food/trans fat.
— no eating after 8 pm.
SKINCARE
— be clear on your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive).
— once you're clear, use these accordingly- cleanser, toner, targeted serum, eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen (≥50 spf).
— keep your bedding clean as well.
— no picking of skin on your lips, cuticle etc.
— gua sha to help improve blood circulation and lessen toxins.
— cold therapy may take three to five minutes of being uncomfortable, but your energy levels will be boosted for the rest of the day.
— remove makeup before you go to bed.
BODY CARE
— shower every day.
— exfoliate 2x a week.
— use body lotion (shea butter/aloe vera gel/coconut oil).
HAIR CARE
— wash hair 2-3x a week
— oil your scalp 2x a week, at least 3 hours before shampoo.
— hair mask 1x per week.
— never brush wet hair.
— use silk pillow case.
HYGIENE
— brush your teeth 2x a day, clean tongue and the roof of the mouth daily.
— floss daily.
— cut your nails 1x a week, never remove the cuticles.
— glycolic acid under arm for odor and discoloration.
— never use soap on your coochie.
Mental Glow Up-
MINDSET
— set clear goals- define and breakdown your aspirations.
— start your mornings with positive affirmations.
— surround yourself with uplifting content and people.
— be shamelessly selfish to your career and mental health, remove anyone or anything that doesn't align with your priorities and wellbeing.
— boost your brain health by these 4 neuroscience tools:
difficult first: start your day with the most difficult task (cortisol and dopamine are high in the body meaning that your body/mind is primed to work).
rest your eyes: introduce a micro-pause after learning by resting/closing your eyes - will help retain information better.
tomorrow's worries: write tomorrow's to-do list before bed as it is proven to be effective in helping you fall asleep.
find time to play: engage in low-stake play. can be anything you find fun but where the outcome doesn't matter (induces neuroplasticity + reduces stress).
MIND
— meditation might take as low as ten minutes, but your focus will be improved for the rest of the day.
— no social media after waking up and at least an hour before bed.
— keep aside 1 hr of time to read daily! reading a new book may take five hours, but you will keep the knowledge forever.
— journaling, gratitude.
— digital detox once a week or for 12 hours.
— limit unnecessary screentime, unfollow or cut off people you don't want to see.
JOURNALING
— choose a regular time each day to journal, making it a part of your routine.
— find a quiet, comfortable place free from distractions. light a candle if you want.
— allow your thoughts to flow without censoring or editing.
— write about your feelings and emotions to understand them better. write about things you are thankful for to boost your mood. write about your short-term and long-term goals. identify what triggers certain emotions or reactions
— set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write continuously during that time.
— reflect on both positive experiences and challenges.
— make lists, journal your thoughts on these questions.
— journal at night to clear your mind before bedtime, because emotions and thoughts lose their power once we acknowledge them.
— a gratitude practice may take five minutes, but your mindset will be shifted for the rest of the day.
AFFIRMATIONS
— customise affirmations to your needs.
Personal Life-
WEEKLY TASKS
— initiate small changes: begin with small, manageable tasks such as making your bed or cleaning your room every sunday.
— celebrate your success: reward yourself when you achieve your goals or have a consistently productive week. consider treats like buying flowers for yourself or watching your favorite show.
DAILY WORK
— set achievable goals: establish realistic goals for the day, week, or month ahead.
— track your progress.
— organise your work space, declutter your shelves etc.
— embrace the power of lists: keep a list of tasks to be done and their deadlines. this way, you start each day with a clear plan. to make it visually appealing and motivating, consider using productivity apps like evernote, habit tracker, or notion.
PRODUCTIVITY TIPS
— wake up early.
— plan ahead everything, do scheduling. you can use:
google calendar / notion / tasks .
— if the task takes less than 2 minutes to finish, do it immediately.
— countdown rule, if you are procrastinating, count 1-2-3-4-5 and jump.
— start slow, don't rush and try to do everything at one time.
— follow a proper routine, use app locks based on screentime.
— pomodoro technique, 25 min work, and 5 min break.
— schedule longer break times as well e.g 30 min nap.
