Nyala male - Tragelaphus angasii
The dimorphism between the sexes in this antelope are striking - females are tan, males are nearly black with horns, looking like entirely different species. They are born light brown, looking like any other female, which may reduce any pressure placed on them by the dominant male who will eventually pressure them out of the herd.

antelope nerd moment! this is an endangered mountain nyala (Tragelaphus buxtoni) rather than the regular lowlands nyala (Tragelaphus angasii) - because he has a large white patch under his head :)
