I’m leveling up my look by going back to sew ins🦋 Do you have any tips for maintaining and styling it? I work in a office setting and I realized braids make me look like a little kid so I’m leveling up my look

I am a huge proponent for sew ins and have this style more often than not. It has grown my hair the longest (as well as box braids, I wear those as goddess and very long so it looks more modern)

Install:

Be sure to go to a reputable hairstylist who specializes in weaves and wigs.

Keep note if a net is applied on your hair. This prevents damage as the tracks won't be applied directly on your braids.

Get a deep condition, steam, and trim before installing your sew in.

Maintenance:

Maintenance every 3 weeks - this involves a wash and deep condition while your tracks are in! The hairstylist will also tighten your tracks. You can basically get this done twice before it's time to reinstall all together.

If you are wearing it straight/body wave, be sure to apply wax stick on your leave out before flat ironing. Sometimes you don't need to every time if you're resistant to heat damage, but it's highly recommended if your hair isn't heat trained also.

Get a small flat iron for your edges if you have any left out. Don't flat iron them everyday, and use a good edge control with very little product at the root so it doesn't get crusty.

Bonnet or silk pillowcase, whatever you prefer to keep it frizz free and smooth. Apply little product everyday. At most some oil.

I like to put my hair in flexi rods before I go to sleep. It keeps the weave perfectly curled for the next day so you won't have to use heat. I do this on my real hair when it is silk pressed as well. This is how you maintain the traditional sew in leave out/tape ins/etc whatever you get the best.

Summary: Your bought as a slave and tought the way of the vikings.

You stood huddled among the other slaves, your heart heavy with despair. You had been kidnapped from your home in Raven United, taken from your family and everything you knew, and brought to this foreign land to be sold like a piece of meat.

You have been beaten, starved, and forced to endure countless indignities at the hands of your captors. But you refused to let them break your spirit. You were a warrior, trained from birth to fight and to lead, and you knew that you would find a way to escape and reclaim your freedom.

As the slave auction began, You watched in horror as your fellow captives were sold off one by one. Some were bought by wealthy merchants or landowners, others by cruel masters who would work them to death. You knew that you could not bear to suffer the same fate, but there seemed to be no escape from this prison.

And then you saw a figure approach the auction block, a tall, regal woman with eyes that seemed to burn with an inner fire. You later found out It was Queen Aslaug, wife of the great Viking king Ragnar Lothbrok, and mother to the young prince Ubbe.

Aslaug surveyed the slaves on the block with a critical eye, sizing them up, and judging their worth. When her gaze fell upon another slave, a tall, strong man with rippling muscles, you could see that Aslaug was preparing to make an offer.

But then, to your surprise, the young man with piercing blue eyes stepped forward and whispered something in her ear. Aslaug's face softened, and she turned to the slaver and made an offer for you.

The slaver sneered and tried to drive up the price because of his knowledge of you being a princess, but Aslaug was not to be deterred. She paid the price, and you were lifted off the auction block, freed from your chains, and taken away to a new life.

As you followed Aslaug out of the slave market, the handsome young man walked close behind you. You were full of anxiety not knowing what this new life would bring you. You also felt a mix of relief maybe because of the young man with piercing blue eyes and golden hair, who looked at you with an intensity that made your heart skip a beat, you felt kindness from the young man. you knew that your life was about to change in ways that you could never have imagined.

You were shown around the sprawling compound, were introduced to the other servants, and explained the various tasks that would be expected of you. You listened intently, taking mental notes of everything you saw and heard.

Day after day, you learned the ins and outs of taking care of a Viking household. You learned how to cook, clean, and sew, and you learned how to anticipate the needs and desires of your masters.

But it wasn't just the practical tasks that you had to master. Ubbe took it in his hand to teach you about the customs and traditions of the Viking people, their history, and their way of life. You were taught their language, and how to understand their culture.

How to: Maintain a traditional sew-in

I don't like wigs. I tried them over and over to try and get the concept of it but it never clicked with me. I didn't like maintaining them everyday, I didn't like the dramatic baby hairs, I didn't like the glue sticking on my forehead/hairline, it was just a big NO for me. Once I switched back to traditional sew-ins, I knew I had found my go-to hairstyle. I usually go to the Dominicans to get my sew-ins and they come out bomb each and every time. The upkeep is what keeps it looking new & fresh and in this post, I'm going to tell you exactly how to do that.

For those who don't know, a traditional sew-in is when you have a portion of your hair left out to cover the tracks. This could be done in a middle or left/right side part. The first thing you want to do when you get your sew-in is to make sure you wrap it down at night, this could be done with a paddle brush, a velcro wrap or a silk scarf. This will ensure that the sew-in doesn't tangle when you wake up or sweat out.

I personally like to put a serum on my natural hair & the extensions before wrapping, the 2 serums I usually use are BioSilk & Chi Silk Infusion, both can be found on their official websites, your local or professional beauty supply stores, Amazon, or Ulta. These 2 products will make your hair manageable & silky when unwrapping it in the morning.

Sew-ins typically lasts me a month and a half before having to wash it from product and/or natural hair oils. When doing this, I use products from the same line as the Chi Silk Infusion, so that'll be the Chi Infra Shampoo & the Infra Treatment (which is a conditioner with a built-in heat protectant).

After shampooing comes blow drying. I do however use a thermal blow dry protectant by Kenra (found at Ulta or online) because I like my hair to feel and look as natural as possible, and using the right products will do so. Depending on my mood determines the style of my hair after I blow dry it. I'll usually go for the easy silk press style, or if I'm feeling fancy I will curl & flexi rod the hair. It depends. After styling, I add a little more of that Chi Silk Infusion for shine, not too much or your hair will literally be oily again, just a drop the size of a crumb.

By following these steps, your sew-in could last for a maximum of 3 months, no later than that because we still have to take care of our natural hair.

Eventually, when it came time for Kei to choose a high school, he chose U.A to receive the best education from their support course.

U.A High School Classmates Mei Hatsume: Kei is often left perplexed by Mei's thinking and inventing process. It frustrates him that he cannot understand her and is, much to the surprise of many, envious of her ability to stay optimistic and continue to persevere even when she has failed. He obtains a bad first impression of her, to which she appears oblivious to, but eventually comes to respect and admire her as a creator.
