THE FINAL DAY

SHOOT DAY 3

After one rest day, the calendar said 18th March and it was now time for the final day of our shoot. The final scene that the team and i shot was the scene where Kabir drops ice and in a rush to return to his game, simply kicks it away instead of cleaning it.

The scene was done through one long trackshot from Kabir leaving his gaming setup to go to the kitchen, while it did take a few rehearsals and a several retakes but in the end we got the shot.

With one final yell of "CUT", it was a wrap and we had completed the shooting and the first big step of our project.

Gentle, slow, Race and Hotshot swayed together, her arms around his neck, his around her waist. He’d lost his damn mind and he knew it. Asking her to dance at prom was supposed to be a seductive affair, to some pulsing beat so he could drag her in and rock against her until he stole a moan from her lips.

Neither of them, he figured, had expected the song to change to something so slow as they were heading toward the floor - but neither of them were going to quit either.

So now here they were, Race in his terrible tux, Hotshot in her stunning dress, eye to eye…and Race was trying not to die.

He hadn’t meant for this to happen. Something like this was too soft for Race. Maybe Hotshot deserved it, but he was a piece of shit, and the whole damn world knew it. Even still, as she leaned in, his heart skipped a beat, and Race’s eyelashes fluttered as he exhaled warmth against her lips.

“Ya look good tonight, Grazi,” he breathed, tugging her just an inch closer. “Who knew?” I knew.

ON WE GO

SHOOT DAY 2

As the sun rose on the morning of 16th March i got ready for my second day of shoot. After looking at the progress we made the previous day, we were content with what we had achieved so far and were looking to do even better

On day 2, we shot one of the more challenging scenes of the lot, the death scene of the mother. The mother, despite not even being seen clearly, is an important character as her death is what directly kicks off the story. We shot the scene, starting from the mother waking up in her bed and walking to the kitchen and slipping on the water and crashing to the floor. We added a followup scene where blood flows out from her head which we also selected to be our title screen.

One of the challenging parts were trying to get a realistic fall from our actress while avoiding any serious injuries that she could sustain, so we placed a mattress in an attempt to soften the landing.

We tried multiple variations such as a trackshot using a skateboard as well as a static shot of the mother walking to the kitchen and by the time we were finished we had lost a significant amount of light.

The final scene of Day 2 was the wound on the mother's head bleeding out onto the kitchen floor which was neither very difficult nor very time consuming.

Pleased with the progress we had made, the team and i called it a day and so it was a packup for Shoot Day 2
