On The Hammock
An Amazon Milk Frog resting comfortably in its favourite perch in the local zoo. Photo credit: Eleanor Chua.
The tank was dimly lit because of the frog’s nocturnal nature. So ISO had need to be pushed up to 6400 to get a 1/160-second shutter speed for the 300mm focal length. This had resulted in a noise level of some 15 that had to be fixed in post.

Amazon Milk Frog
AKA Mission Golden-Eyed Tree Frog, Blue Milk Frog, Trachycephalus resinifictrix
A buddy from the Amazon rainforest!
These zebra-y buddies produce milk when stressed, and are on the large side, getting up to 4 inches! They often live in vegetation sitting above water, such as a tree with branches over a river.
They have blue blood, and you can see some blue when they open their mouths! So regal!

The Amazon Milk Frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix) is a large species of arboreal frog native to the amazon rainforest in South America. They are nocturnal, have large, adhesive toe pads for climbing, and a loud barking call.
The bluish green colouration and brown markings provide camouflage amongst trees and vegetation. They arise from a combination of
1. Melanophores, cells containing black or brown melanin pigments,
2. Xanthophores, those with yellow pigments), and
3. Iridophores, which have reflective or iridescent properties rather than pigment, and appear blue.
When threatened, specialised skin glands secrete a milky, white, and toxic substance rich in alkaloids, particularly bufotoxins. This behavior, known as “foaming,” is a common defense mechanism observed in various frog species, but the Amazon milk frog is particularly well-known for the potency of its secretion. Bufotoxins are potent chemicals that can cause irritation or even be harmful if ingested or if they come into contact with mucous membranes or open wounds.

Here's the Flockless as each others respective species! Dungeon Meshi was a huge inspiration for this and just my love for my dnd party!
I'll talk about the designs briefly under the cut!
Cherry (Mechanically an Aasimar)
In every form, Cherry is still an Aasimar.
She almost surged due to the Howler, but instead she got a buff, being able to add her Charisma modifier to her attack cantrips.
Frogfolk - Based on the Cape Rain Frog (Breviceps gibbosus). This isn't new info!
Tiefling - She's still small, brown, and has huge eyes. Cherry would always be black and black-coded like all my characters.
Jackalope - Fluffy lil bunny with lil bud antlers.
Kenku - Based on the Canary (Serinus canaria forma domestica).
Yuan-ti - Based on an albino Ball Python (Python regius).
Shelley (Mechanically a Zariel Tiefling)
Shelley's eyes are red and blue, formerly purple, due to a surge caused by the god, the Howler.
Frogfolk - Based on the Amazon Milk Frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix).
Tiefling - Formerly a Dhampir, she is now some kinda blessed and kinda cursed Zariel Tiefling.
Jackalope - Kept her elegant look as a Jackalope.
Kenku - Based on the Secretary Bird (Sagittarius serpentarius).
Yuan-ti - Based on the King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah).
Luren (Mechanically a Harengon)
Frogfolk - Based on the Cinnamon Frog (Nyctixalus pictus).
Tiefling - I wanted to keep his cheeky nature in this tiefling design.
Jackalope - Same old Jackalope with a lucky white foot.
Kenku - Based on the Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao).
Yuan-ti - Since he also has an association with the god, Jack the Dealer, I wanted him to have more snake-like proportions.
Silence (Mechanically a Kenku)
Silence's skin is blue due to surge caused by the god, the Howler.
Frogfolk - Based on the Diablito Poison Frog (Oophaga sylvatica).
Tiefling - Their horns are black and white due to their patrons.
Jackalope - They're just fluffy with a blue nose!
Kenku - Based on an American Kestrel (Falco sparverius). This isn't new info!
Yuan-ti - He's a chubby, blue snake!
Cres (Mechanically a Changeling)
Frogfolk - Based on this frog (Hyloscirtus hillis).
Tiefling - Based on one of their forms aka Elia Crescentmoon.
Jackalope - Also based on Elia Crescentmoon if they were a Jackalope.
Kenku - Based on the Common Ground Dove (Columbina passerina).
Yuan-ti - It's their base form, what else can I say?

Elegant Dancing Frog: They’re named after their peculiar method which they use to show off for breeding. On top of calling and showing off their bright white vocal sac, males will kick and stomp their hind legs to impress females. Sometimes, they even fight each other by doing this! Here’s a video of some unidentified members of the Micrixalus genus doing this. M. elegans specifically was once suspected to be extinct, until their rediscovery in 2010 along the fast-flowing streams of Western India.
Amazon Milk Frog: This species’ most common name is after their ability to secrete a milky white fluid when stressed. Another common name, the blue milk frog, is a clear reference to the bright blue inside of their mouths and the tint lent to their skin from their blue blood. Although they’re often kept in captivity, in the wild they’re entirely arboreal except for when they descend to lay their eggs in tree holes filled with water.

Malika has become the next victim of frog gifting. She can find a huge aquarium with an White and brown spotted frog inside it.
There is also a how-to-care-for datapad next to the aquarium. And a note attached to it
This one isn't poisonous to humans and safe to touch. It's an Trachycephalus resinifictrix //Starscream
@autobotstarscream
She widened her eyes in surprise when has returned to her own table of the studio.
It is, surely, admirable that such a gift has been given from Starscream, never expecting an action like this from a former decepticon.
It was pleasant? Absolutely yes. And the white and brown frog was even cute to see.
“I have to thank Starscream personally when I'll see him.”
Croak!
“Hehe! Yeah he deserves some appreciation~” , no, she wasn't able to understands animals, she just assumed.
#autobotstarscream#verse;tfprime#hajsjsndjxbxkdj#100% honest#it was unexpected for her#but Malika really appreciated it aaaaaah

frog of the day :)
One of my favorite frogs, trachycephalus resinifictrix! Common names: Amazon milk frog, blue milk frog, Mission golden-eyed tree frog
Habitat: Live in rainforest canopies
Found in: South America (in the Amazon Rainforest)
Fun fact(s): Their colours are more vibrant when they are young, and fade as they age. Their skin also becomes thicker and grainier.
They are named “milk frogs”, not because of appearance reasons, but after their poison, which is milky white. This poison comes from its skin when it is stressed.
Their tongues are blue!
