Ten Good Things That Happened in 2016

I was tagged by @x-wishesonfallenstars-x, @the-notsoevil-queen and @theonewithoutaclue, thanks lovelies!

I would describe 2016 as a roller coaster for many reasons, but some amazing things happened and I couldn’t be more grateful because I learned a lot of things, both about life and about myself.

1. Due to my grandmother’s cancer, my family got closer and started to let go of  old grudges. It’s so great, the 18 of us are pretty much on good terms now and really enjoy spending time with each other. Tensions were eased and we all came together as a family again, which showed especially this Christmas. I also got closer to my grandpa and my grandma and got to see many, many sides of them I never thought even existed, and that is worth everything to me

2. I went to San Francisco and Los Angeles in May with two of my friends, this being the first time I went on the West coast and also the first time I traveled with friends (not a school trip or a family trip I mean). It was super great, I went to Alcatraz, to the San Francisco MoMA and saw so many amazing artworks, and then spent a few days at the beach (I still have marks from my huge sunburn and the side of my thigh is always warmer than the rest of my body since then)

3. I also had another trip this year! I’ve been meaning to go to British-Colombia for a few years now, and then, a special someone suggested I come over for a week, so I thought “why not?” and booked my flight after that. Boy it was the first time I was traveling like a big girl, taking the plane by myself and everything. And that’s the story of how I met @the-notsoevil-queen! It still feels surreal. We spent most of the week in Vancouver, went to Steveston and even to filming (parked right where the circus was (remember how I screamed, Alexia? 😉), went to Seattle and just had so much fun. I feel so lucky to have you in my life and I also can’t wait to see you again in 4 days (what a great way to start 2017, hey!)

4. 2016 was the ultimate year of friendship. I have met some amazing people on here (s/o to the OGs, you know who you are), but I also got the chance to form really deep relationships with some friends at uni and I honestly don’t know how I would have made it through the last semester without them. They’re amazing and I’m really grateful to have them

5. I got involved in fandom again, started drawing again and even write and post fanfictions, which I hadn’t done in years. The positive feedback I got was so wonderful and was a huge confidence boost, especially for writing because I’m always worried to make many mistakes since English isn’t my native language

6. Coming to terms with being bisexual is a big highlight of this year too, it feels so good

7. I bought my ticket for the OUAT Toronto con with Alexia and I’m so freaking excited to go with her and meet Bex and Lana and all the cast going, along with meeting all my other fellow oncers ❤️

8. I became more and more independent and that’s something I’m really proud of

9. I started my last year in the psychology course of Sherbrooke’s university and wow, it’s amazing to see how much I’ve grown from that, and I’m really proud to have made it and to almost be a psychology bachelor

10. A lot of people, friends and acquaintances from my course, rooted for me to become the new president of the student council of the psychology course. It was such an honor to see so many people think I was the right person for the job, even people I think didn’t like me all that much.
