Everyone is talking about the nobody that got sent in and then talking about how it's a Colonist and not a true native. Of course, mechs shut their mouths when Tarn is in the vicinity.

Tarn's looming over anyone who dares make a comment about your survival chances, and bets are taking place if he's crashing into the tournament.

His temper is getting worse with each day you're not at the finish line and he's staring into the ceiling at night with all the sparklings squirming in his berth because he's getting anxious and hides it under the guise of a 'sleepover.' He's simultaneously freaking out and chilling down because on one hand you have Vos, but on the other hand, it's fucking Vos.

On the final day, there's the D.J.D. in the booth with the brood of six to nine sparklings that are all chirping because look there's tor/ori/riri/mom on the big screen that's blood eagling someone from the opposition with ties to the Quintessons with a skirt made out of assorted alien and cybernetic lifechords and Vos hung across your back.

Meanwhile Tarn is feeling something as he watches you ritually take someone's spinal cord, while the rest of the team are commenting that you've been holding out on them and everyone watches in stunned horror as you march to finish line to empty out all the tokens of the annihilated teams that Quintessa and her allies sponsored.

Surprisingly, there are other planetary systems that hate the Quintessons and/or dislike the Galactic Alliance, and look forward to doing business and building ties with a planet that can go toe-to-toe with both powers.

TWOIAF/Fire & Blood: The Beginning of the Dornish War

Warning, Spoilers Ahead…

 Aegon Targaryen has one more item to mark off his conquering checklist: Dorne.

Aegon tries a soft approach for nearly a year: he sent septons, maesters, and high lords to treat with Princess Meria Martell. She wasn’t interested. In 4 AC, the first Dornish War begun.

Rhaenys descended unto Planky Town and set the floating town ablaze. Meanwhile, Orys Baratheon led a thousand knights up the Boneway while Aegon marched through the Prince’s Pass with an army of 30,000. Lord Harlan Tyrell, Warden of the South, accompanied Aegon’s Army.

No word on Visenya – she must have stayed behind to govern the realm. Personally, I would have switched Rhaenys for Visenya.  No offense to Rhaenys – she’s a skilled dragonrider and participated in the Field of Fire and the Last Storm, so she has the Targaryen ruthlessness in her but her strengths seemed to be in the diplomatic/”soft power” areas and Visenya is the more vicious, highly skilled warrior. Was this personal for Rhaenys? Did she feel she failed in her initial visit to Dorne while her siblings/spouses succeeded in their visits to Westeros? Was this return to Dorne a chance to redeem herself?

Aegon’s armies marched into Dorne and found the watchtowers deserted, the fields burned, the livestock destroyed, and the wells poisoned. His forces were running short of food well before they reached the Dornish sands.

The Dornish are vicious – even to themselves. They are destroying their own lands to repel invaders but it’s at a great cost to themselves – Dorne isn’t known for its vast resources.

Thus begins a pattern of invade-retreat-guerrilla warfare-war crimes that would last for the next nine years!

A few highlights (lowlights?) of round one (4 AC to 6 AC) of the near-decade long war:

·         Lord Tyrell lost a quarter of his men and almost all his horses to the Dornish sands

·         Orys Baratheon’s forces were wiped out except for a dozen lords and himself – they became captives of the “Widow-lover” Wyl of Wyl

·         Rhaenys took Lemonwood, Spottswood, and Stinkwater but only found old women and children

·         Aegon took Skyreach, Yronwood, and the Tor; he also engaged in a one on one duel with the Champion of Ghost Hill only to discover it was Lord Toland’s fool

·         Aegon and Rhaenys descended on Sunspear only to discover no one was home – Aegon declared victory by default.

·         Aegon offered rewards for the heads of the missing Dornish lords and ladies; he also named castellans and stewards for the newly won Dornish castles – the most important nomination being the naming of Lord Rosby as the Castellan of Sunspear and Warden of the Sands

·         Aegon then gave the “good job, team. Let’s go home” speech and he and his forces returned to King’s Landing

·         The missing Dornish returned with a vengeance as soon as the Targaryen forces left Dorne

·         The Dornish recaptured their castle within a fortnight and slaughtered the royal garrisons.

·         Stewards and castellans were “allowed to die only after a long torment. It was said that the Dornish lords had a wager over who could keep their captives alive the longest while dismembering them.”

·         Lord Rosby was dragged to the top of the Spear Tower and then thrown from a window by Princess Meria Martell.

·         King Aegon had left Lord Tyrell and his forces to hold Hellholt and he had to deal with constant attacks from House Qorgyle of Sandstone and House Vaith of Vaith.

·         Lord Tyrell gathered his forces to march on Sunspear once he learned of Lord Rosby’s defenestration of Sunpear.  Somewhere east of Hellholt, Lord Tyrell and his entire army disappeared.

Aegon had his brother/best friend/Hand of the King taken hostage, his Warden of the South killed, a lord of the Crownlands executed, and lost thousands of men in the attack. Meria had multiple towns burned and lost hundreds/thousands of Dornish lives. Do Aegon and Meria attempt to make a compromise? No! The degenerate into “an endless bloody series of atrocities, raids, and retaliations, broken up by long periods of inactivity, a dozen short truces, and numerous murders and assassinations.

More year-by-year lowlights:

7 AC:

·         Orys Baratheon and the other captive lords were returned after being ransomed for their weight in gold. The Widow-lover lopped off each man’s sword hand before releasing his hostages. King Aegon retaliated by unleashing Balerion on the mountain fortresses of the Wyls. I wonder if Argella Durandon missed her husband while he was held captive or if it was more of a case “hope he’s dead”?

8 AC:

·         Dornish raiders attack towns and villages along the south shore of Cape Wrath, and set fires through half the rainwood.

·         Visenya Targaryen burns Lemonwood, Ghost Hill, and the Tor.

9 AC:

·         Visenya and Aegon return to Dorne and burn Sandstone, Vaith, and the Hellholt.

10 AC

·         Lord Fowler of Dorne leads and army through the Prince’s Pass and into the Reach, capturing Nightsong and burning a dozen villages. Lord ManfredHightower sent his son Addam with a strong force to retake Nightsong,

·         A second Dornish army under Ser Joffrey Dayne attacked Oldtown. The Dornish were unable to take Oldtown but burned fields, farms, and villages for twenty leagues around the city. Joffrey Dayne kills Garmon Hightower, Lord Hightower’s younger son.

·         Ser Addam Hightower reached Nightsong only to discover that Lord Fowler had torched the castle and executed the garrison. Lord Caron, his wife, and children were taken back to Dorne as captives.

·         Addam returned to Oldtown to relieve the city but the Dornish had retreated to Dorne.

·         Lord Manfred Hightower dies and Addam succeeds him as the Lord of Oldtown.

·         Aegon approaches Theo Tyrell over a 2nd Dornish invasion but he is hesitant considering the fate of his father in the previous war.

·         The three Targaryens unleash their dragons on Dorne: Aegon attacked Skyreach “vowing to make the Fowler seat a second Harrenhal”, Visenya brought fire and blood to Starfall, and Rhaenys returned to Hellholt only for Meraxes to be shot down by a scorpion bolt. Rhaneys and Meraxes die on impact. The three Targaryens unleashed their dragons on Dorne: Aegon attacked Skyreach “vowing to make the Fowler seat a second Harrenhal”, Visenya brought fire and blood to Starfall, and Rhaenys returned to Hellholt only for Meraxes to be shot down by a scorpion bolt.

·         Meraxes died shortly after impact but no one knows the exact time of Rhaeny’s death: “Some say she lost her seat and fell to her death, others that she was crushed beneath Meraxes in the castle yard. A few accounts claim the queen survived her dragon’s fall, only to die a slow death by torment in the dungeons of the Ullers.” I hope for Rhaenys’s sake that she died upon/shortly after attack because life under Dornish captors would make life under Ramsay Bolton look pleasant.

Three more years into this stupid war and what has Aegon or Meria gained? Nothing beneficial! More destruction of towns and farms on both sides. The Caron family has been taken captive/killed, and the Hightowers lost a father and a son. On a personal level, Aegon and Visenya lost their sister-wife and had a brother mutilated. Aenys lost his mother at three-years old! All this violence and bloodshed because of two vindictive egos!

Up next, the Dragon’s Wroth, the atrocities continue, and a tenuous cease-fire.

Trying to think abt the relationship between Ori and Lycorine and Elly and Lycorine.

It's really hard for Ori to dislike people with the only recorded case being minimal distaste because said person got in the way of her time w her at the time crush (Only recorded case of Oriana not encouraging someone to call her Ori)

I think Lycorine would like Oriana's "rustic charm" but would be put off by her preference for violence. Even just the fact that Ori is a falcon therefore likes hunting and might eat raw meat would probably be like Eek????? for Lycorine.

Ori will definitely be intrigued by a dragon, the only reason she hasn't raided Another Dragon is because they're often in company of someone she prefers not to interact with. If I go with Lycorine's element being gem-metal related, I can see Ori being very interested.

Earlier I said smth abt Lycorine asking people for favors but I can imagine Ori playing Lycorine by showering her with praise and getting Lycorine to do things for her instead. She does have a track record of playing along people's fixations to remain on their good side. (Pinyan and Cyrus come to mind)

A bit of an impromptu Ori analysis but I feel the more she's willing to oppose someone's pov, the more she actually trusts that person. While she doesn't exactly oppose Tzeq's way of thinking, she does give his point of view far more thought than just 'haha yeah bestie you're soooooooooo right'. I guess???? It's better put to admit she's more than a bit condescending and doesn't consider most people's thoughts to be relevant hafkjdshfkasf

In other words, I think their relationship would be a neutral-positive one. Ori can get away with a lot by being cute and Lycorine can get away with a lot by Being Rich. There's not much room for conflict beyond Lycorine being a pacifist and Ori being well Ori. Like, Ori's fine with pacifism she just likes fighting. Even then, since this Ori's a lot more under control because of actively considering her healer boyfriend's feelings, I can't see them clashing often if at all.

For Elly I feel it's a bit more complicated. Elly will also play with people's ideas for her own benefit but she's much more malicious about it? Idk if that's a way of putting it. She's very nosy, Ori praises to keep people positive, Elly praises to get more information. I feel Lycorine might fall for this a couple of times and eventually grow wary of the wolf.

Lycorine would probably initially love Elly's even greater "rustic charm" like that's just a country girl with a lute dude what's not to love? Probably like her even MORE when they can engage in cute girl's talk then accidentally give out her entire backstory to a random stranger like oh.

Elly's not the type to actively hold blackmail over someone but like... she might do it... implicitly? Probably with passive and vague comments and smiles. It's not that she'd actually give away someone's information, she kinda just likes teasing lol.

Lycorine treating Elly extra nice so Elly won't spill out her entire backstory while Elly has no intention of doing this she just finds her princess friend funny.

Personalitatea mea, doar că îmblănită!

Cred cu adevărat că nu ne dăm seama de anumite trăsături de caracter pe care le deținem până în momentul în care le vedem ieșind la iveală de la ghemotocul cu blăniță ce stă uneori cuminte, uneori jucăuș, uneori năzbâtios lângă noi.

Încă din copilărie legătura mea cu animalele a fost una strânsă, în pofida bunicii căreia i se ridica părul în cap de neputință când mă vedea încercând să infiltrez câte un blănos în casă. N-am renunțat oricum la plăcerile mele vinovate și am continuat să i chinui până s-a obișnuit și ea cu ideea noilor locatari.

Animalele m-au impresionat întotdeauna prin inteligența de care dau dovadă, mai ales de inteligența emoțională… te simt, îți simt durerile, neplăcerile, toate gândurile care te macină pe interior și încearcă așa cum pot ele mai bine să te aline, să-ți ofere o lăbuță de ajutor.

De la o poziție dezinhibată și haioasă, la un tors de mama focului ori un schelălăit nedumerit, acestea au o varietate de metode de a te scoate din anumite stări și emoții care te fac sa te simți la pământ!

Mai presus de atât, acestea au o atitudine atât de bine definită, dar totuși atât de plină de surprize. Cu siguranță fiecare stăpân de animal a avut momente, și mai mult ca sigur nu puține la număr, în care și-a găsit animăluțul fie cu o mutră familiară, fie cu o poziție cunoscută pe care nu știe de unde să o ia, pentru ca mai apoi să realizeze oglindirea perfectă pe care prietenul blănos le-o oferă!

What character grew on you in Voltron? Like, you were neutral towards them and as the show progressed you warmed up to?

hmmmm probably keith actually. idk, i actually found him a little annoying with the purposeful isolationism, but by the end of season 1 i had warmed up to him a lot, and once i learned his backstory and fears of rejection my heart fucking BROKE for him and i love him a lot would die for him. my next url is going to have a keith theme!!

“Isi,” said Robin softly, “can I talk to you?” 

On her way over, Isi collected Robin’s bedroll. Getting all the way back to it would only be more difficult with a twisted ankle. “What’s wrong?” 

“This was my fault.” 

It was a sentiment Robin expressed more than Isi felt was reasonable, but she kept any kind of rebuke to herself. “What do you mean?” 

invent(ory) (Hurricane) 

What else needed doing? She was fairly sure one of the sails had ripped, but her memories of the night had somewhat faded together into a blur of sensation and emotion. Rain, wind, the panic she’d felt when a rogue barrel knocked Elizabeth almost almost over the side, more rain, the brief respite while she got Theo up on deck to help too, the burning of the rope across her back, the heart-stopping realisation she was going to fall and couldn’t stop it— 

Someone nudged her arm. It was Cai. “Something I can do?” 

She shook herself. “Actually, yes. Re-stow any cargo that needs it and take an inventory of anything that was damaged or lost. I don’t think anything went overboard, but I heard a lot of rattling around belowdecks.” 

Cai said, “One sail ripped, I know that. I’ll tell you about anything else.”

trace (Hurricane) (time for sads. Theo needs a hug. happily he gets one) 

He said, “Both older. Finn is twenty-four, one year older than me, and Will is twenty-nine. Like you, I’m kind of the baby of the family.” 

She grinned. “Gets frustrating sometimes, doesn’t it?” 

“A little. But it makes being all alone out here kind of… weird.” He swallowed. Tears sparkled in his eyes. 

She’d always been everywhere with her crew—her family—so she had no idea what she could say to make him feel better. She knew what it was like to be alone, though, the feeling of disorientation that came when she couldn’t see any of them. But words still failed her, so she gave up on them and opened her arms instead. Her blanket slid off her back, but she ignored it. He leant into her embrace and rested his head on her shoulder, clinging to her like a drowning man clutches a lifebelt. Perhaps that was accurate. He was all alone here, searching for any trace of something familiar to hold onto. 

“We’ll take you home,” she whispered. “Once all this is over. Whatever I can do to make it happen, I’ll do it. I promise.” 

He nodded, his breath hitching as he fought back a sob. She tightened her embrace and rested her cheek on the top of his head. The sun dipped below the horizon. 

They stayed there like that until Theo’s sobs quieted and the dark closed in. 

drive (Dragonsong) 

Isi came to a conclusion and stopped. “Go home.” 

“Pardon me, tor?” 

“I said go home.” 

Neil looked up, sneaking a glance at her face. She didn’t explain; she wasn’t sure she could explain, so she settled for unlocking his cuffs to drive home her point. He opened his mouth to speak again but thought better of it, and darted away. He was gone down a side street in moments. 

focus (Dragonsong) (tw blood) (time for hurt/comfort! mostly hurt rn though) 

The group parted for Henry, and Isi followed, heart in her throat. Henry knelt beside his husband and reached out a gentle hand, cradling Jasper’s face to turn it towards them. “Jasper? What happened?” 

Sweat beaded along Jasper’s brow, and his gaze took a moment to focus. “Give me a moment,” he said, but his words were slow and laboured. 

“I think not.” Henry untucked Jasper’s shirt from his belt; the fabric there was stained with blood. Not buckets of it, but more than just a scratch. Henry rolled the fabric aside, revealing a long narrow gash. The edges were red and swollen. Isi winced. 

“Jasper…” The word was gentle, but there was an admonishing edge. “This is infected. You can’t keep going like this.”
