Timelapse Video Shows Chevy’s Inner Beauty In Red Wings Tribute [VIDEO]
Chevrolet tapped former motorcycle stuntman and current artist from the Czech Republic, Tomas Vitanovsky, to make this one-of-a-kind piece. The project took 700 hours of sketching, modeling and sculpting before arriving at the final piece which measures 9-feet by 5-feet and weighs 772-pounds.
Vitanovsky’s work was inspired by Chevrolet’s automotive heritage as well as that of the Detroit Red Wings. The sculpture utilizes 186 pieces from 13 Chevrolet models to create the iconic Red Wing logo. It is currently on display at the entrance to Little Caesars Arena, the home of the Detroit Red Wings.

Arezoo shamsaei-Bawarsadian Final Major Project : Man And Machine My final project it was about man and machine. At the beginning we had some researches about final major project to help us think more about what is this project and what it will be at the end. My tutor gave us three different themes to choose which were: Out Of This World, Man And Machine and Secret Of Life. I started to do research about all the topics we had to find out the artists work which Inspire me to choose my topic. During I was doing the research I found out a new art work called SteamPunk. When I read about the steampunk and the artists who they do the steampunk I realized that they using scrap parts of motorcycles and the cars to do steampunk art work and it was something new for me so I really interested and decided to choose Man and Machine topics for my final project. For my primary research I went to Whitechapel Gallery and Museum of London. At Whitechapel I really liked the printing on the fabric they was so colourful with very nice shape and design. For example I really like the Djerba's dress it was so beautiful with very nice patterns which she did in 1971. I went to the Museum of London it was a huge building with very nice antiques things from history of London, but I really like the fashion on that time when I started to looking at the dresses I just surprised of that much beauty. So I decided to do something in fashion mixing with steampunk for my final work. For my secondary research I started to do my artist research which is connected to my project. So I found very good artist which used lots of colours on their work like Kandinsky or even a artist he just used the main colours like Joan Miro. When I look at the Eric Freitas's work I really love his clocks which they was strange but the techniques was just for him. After him I found Tomas Vitanovsky which he did the steampunk style in art when I saw his work I just love the technique and he gave me idea to use his art style for my final piece. My next research it was Christian Dior which is the best fashion house in the world and at the end I have Edgar Artis is another fashion designer how design the dress with different material and things and I really enjoy his work. I wanted my final outcome be something like steampunk and fashion mix together so I did research of steampunk custom which are based on corset and short skirt and also I did research on farthingale. I generate some sketches of my own ideas for short skirt and farthingale in different shape size and model. When I choose which of them I want, I did some Samples with different materials. The hardest part of doing this project I think it was that part to using the hammer to put the hook on the skirt it was so hard to joining the hooks together. Another hard part it was when I used the machine to join the wires to the circle wire I made before, because they was three wire twist together it was so hard to join them with same measurement of next three wires at the beginning when I joined them they wasn't in the same hight so I talked to my teacher and we decided together to cut one of them and we were forced to cut one of them to make it in same hight. Generate the skirt with new design of farthingale it was a bit hard but I tried my best to do it as much as I can good. I really enjoyed the FMP project because we had opportunity to choose a theme and work with which we choose. My tumblr account name is: arezoosh

Tomas Vitanovsky Animal Sculptures made from recycled Car Parts and Scrap Metal
Combining his love for art and the automotive world, sculptor Tomas Vitanovsky creates complex and detailed animal sculptures made entirely from recycled car and motorcycle parts such as bearings, gears, chains and outlets. As an occasional motorcycle racer and a full-time mechanic, Vitanovsky loves working with steel. He explains, "I love the feeling when an image pops up in my mind and then the process of finding the right scrap bits to bring it into reality, even when it’s not always a direct process. Once it’s finished, I get a great feeling of fulfillment and pride and often find it hard to let them go"
