NASA F-8A Crusader Supercritical Wing Aircraft

NASA F-8A Crusader Supercritical Wing Aircraft
A Vought F-8A Crusader was selected by NASA as the testbed aircraft (designated TF-8A) to install an experimental Supercritical Wing in place of the conventional wing. The unique design of the Supercritical Wing (SCW) reduces the effect of shock waves on the upper surface near Mach 1, which in turn reduces drag. The F-8 Supercritical Wing (SCW) project flew from 1970 to 1973. Dryden engineer John McTigue was the first SCW program manager and Tom McMurtry was the lead project pilot. The first SCW flight took place on 9 March 1971. The last flight of the Supercritical wing was on 23 May 1973, with Ron Gerdes at the controls. Original wingspan of the F-8 was 35 feet, 2 inches while the wingspan with the supercritical wing was 43 feet, 1 inch. F-8 aircraft were powered by Pratt & Whitney J57 turbojet engines. The TF-8A Crusader was made available to the NASA Flight Research Center by the U.S. Navy. F-8 jet aircraft were built, originally, by LTV Aerospace, Dallas, Texas. Rockwell International’s North American Aircraft Division received a $1.8 million contract to fabricate the supercritical wing, which was delivered to NASA in December 1969.

The pandemic could have ruined this sustainable business. But instead, it's expanding nationwide
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/the-pandemic-could-have-ruined-this-sustainable-business-but-instead-its-expanding-nationwide/
The pandemic could have ruined this sustainable business. But instead, it's expanding nationwide
For Loop, a shopping service that sells items from Häagen-Dazs ice cream to Tide laundry detergent in reusable packages rather than the single-use containers that normally hold the products, consumer fears around reuse could pose an existential threat. But instead of retreating during the pandemic, the project has reported sudden increases in sales and is about to expand in a big way. Loop, which launched as a pilot last year in the Northeastern US and Paris, is planning to expand to the 48 contiguous states by July 1.
The broader launch has the potential to take Loop from a small experiment serving 10,000 customers to a much larger initiative — and it will test how committed Americans are to ditching single-use plastics. “What we’re not seeing is any consumers concerned about reuse in light of the virus, which is incredible,” said Tom Szaky, CEO of TerraCycle, a recycling company based in Trenton, New Jersey, and the driving force behind Loop. “I’m very, very happy about that.”
Szaky first pitched the idea of Loop — which he describes as emulating a milk man model — to the world’s largest consumer goods companies in 2017, at the World Economic Forum in Davos. They were interested: Loop could be a way for them to cut down on waste, and help repair the reputations they’d gained for contributing to global plastic pollution. In 2019, Szaky made Loop a reality, featuring a small selection of products from Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Nestlé, PepsiCo, and Clorox, among others.
Here’s how it works:
First, Loop customers have to make an account and fill up a basket on LoopStore.com. In addition to the regular cost of the products, customers must put down a fully refundable deposit for each package, usually between $2 and $5 per item. In the United States, the items arrive via UPS in a Loop tote bag. There’s a $20 flat shipping rate.
Dozens of products are available through the service, ranging from shampoos and food made by popular brands to no-name staples like coffee and oats. As customers go through products — use all the shampoo, eat all the ice cream — they fill up the totes with the empty containers. Unlike traditional recyclables, customers don’t have to wash the packages. They just drop them back into the Loop tote, which a UPS driver picks up. The empties are shipped to an industrial cleaning facility in Pennsylvania before being refilled and sent out again. Customers can keep repeating the cycle or opt out and recover their deposits.
Shopping through Loop isn’t hard, but it requires consumers to change their behaviors and mindsets: Rather than order from established e-commerce platforms like Amazon (AMZN) or FreshDirect, they have to trust an upstart. They also have to shell out for the deposit, and commit to sending back their empties. It was a big ask before the pandemic, and the crisis could have easily delivered a death blow to the service — especially now that customers are also hyper concerned about hygiene.
But people weren’t scared off by the service’s business model. In fact, Loop’s sales surged.
“March, April, May have all set records,” Szaky said.
He has a few ideas why. First, Loop benefited from the sudden shift to online grocery shopping during the pandemic.
“We definitely have seen a benefit for eComm because of Covid,” Szaky said.
And, he said, customers have come to trust Loop’s cleaning process, which takes place in industrial clean rooms, where workers are suited up in protective gear. The process is calibrated to different types of containers and materials. The temperature for cleaning Loop’s glass containers, for example, is set differently than for cleaning its aluminum ones. The clean room’s pipes are flushed after each use to remove potential allergens.
“Unlike the durable coffee cup systems and reusable bags hibernating now, health and safety protocols and industrial cleaning processes are in place in our reuse system,” Szaky wrote in a recent GreenBiz column.
Going national
That doesn’t mean it’s been smooth sailing for the project.
Like other essential businesses that have stayed open during the pandemic, Loop has had to deal with kinks in its supply chain. In some cases, unexpected demand for a certain product — like Clorox wipes — meant that Loop ran out of stock more quickly than anticipated.
“Cleaning products have surged like crazy,” Szaky said.
As it increases its inventory, the service may have to add more of the reusable packages that contain all Loop products. Before the pandemic, that meant some of Loop’s partner companies had to order more packages from a dedicated supplier. But the pandemic took some of those suppliers temporarily offline or slowed them down as workers stayed home or called in sick. To make sure that it was able to scale up, Loop encouraged its partners to broaden their supply chains so they didn’t have to rely on one packaging plant.
The pandemic is also slowing down the growth of Loop’s portfolio of products.
“There is some pressure on enabling new supply chain,” Szaky said. Some companies that recently committed to joining Loop are waiting until the pandemic passes to actually join the platform. “Many of those brands are telling us ‘we’re in, we’re signing, we’re going to do it, but we’re going to actually start the work after corona,'” he said.
Still, Szaky is confident that Loop will be able to meet the explosion in demand he’s anticipating. Of Loop’s initial 10,000 users in its pilot program, only about 100 people have abandoned the project, he said. Now, there are about 100,000 people on a wait-list. If the pattern holds and customers remain committed, Loop may have to increase its service ten-fold.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that everyone on Loop’s wait-list will join. But “we expect a pretty big jump,” Szaky said.
Szaky has a big vision for Loop: Eventually, he wants people to be able to do most of their shopping on the platform. And though Loop is an e-commerce venture at the moment, eventually people should be able to pick up Loop products and drop off empty containers in retail locations, too.
The national rollout, which was initially slated for the end of 2020, is another step in that direction. The rollout was accelerated partially because of that jump in demand from users. And an expedited national launch means Kroger (KR) and Walgreens, which have announced plans to eventually carry Loop’s products on store shelves, can monitor the online sales to determine which regions are most interested in the service, Szaky said. That data will help inform them where and how to launch Loop in their stores.
Szaky, who has devoted his career to reducing waste, is thrilled that Loop has made it this far and is now expanding. But the service has a long way to go before it becomes mainstream.
Lisa McTigue Pierce, executive editor of Packaging Digest, said she’ll consider Loop to have shifted the broader conversation around reusables when it inspires copycat products or services. That hasn’t happened in a significant way at this point. She’s also looking for mainstream distribution of Loop products.
So far, the trends that have made Loop popular right now aren’t unique to the project.
Why it’s working
Across the board, retailers are seeing growth in their digital channels.
The change has been especially dramatic when it comes to groceries. Before the pandemic, online grocery shopping lagged behind other kinds of shopping. But people avoiding crowded grocery stores and long lines have turned to online shopping as an alternative. About 20% of shoppers surveyed by the Food Marketing Institute this spring reported shopping for groceries online “for the first time in memory.”
FMI noted that in 2019, respondents said that they bought 10.5% of their groceries online weekly. In February this year, that figure jumped to 14.5%, and by March and April it had surged to 27.9%.
Not only are people getting used to shopping online, but they’re also looking beyond Amazon, which experienced delays when demand spiked. Major food manufacturers are paying attention: PepsiCo (PEP) recently launched two new websites, Snacks.com and PantryShop.com, which sell the company’s food and beverage products directly to consumers.
That interest in online shopping helped Loop, but still, there are broader fears around reusable products right now. And it’s unclear what that means for environmental movements moving forward.
“Because of the pandemic, there is a new appreciation by consumers and industries of the hygiene advantages plastic packaging can offer that seems to be outweighing concerns about recyclability and plastic-waste leakage into the environment,” McKinsey said in a report.
The question, the report continued, is whether the attitude “marks a permanent shift, or whether sustainability performance could reemerge as a source of competitive advantage.”
Szaky, for one, is enthusiastic about his next steps.
“We’ve been preparing for this for a while so we’re very confident, he said. “All we’re doing is going a little faster… What we do expect is a little bit of strain, but the team is prepared and ready to rock and roll on it.”

"Emotion Analytics, Rand Fishkin, and 3 Key Marketing Shifts" The IMPACT Show Ep. 41 [Show Notes]
In this week's episode of The IMPACT Show, special guest co-host Stacy and I discussed what's going on in IMPACT Elite, 3 key marketing shifts identified at Traffic & Conversion Summit, Google search snippets, and much more.
Just in case you missed us live (or if you want to relive the magic), you’ll find the episode’s show notes below as well as the recording. It's also on YouTube. That reminds me...are you subscribed to our YouTube Channel?
Enjoy and make sure to share!
Like what you saw? Make sure to subscribe to email reminders and give us a review on iTunes.
Have feedback or questions? We’d love to hear it. Comment on this blog or email us at [email protected]
IMPACT Updates
Updates to the HubSpot Partner Directory
The HubSpot partner directory got a face lift! What's new?
Well, you may notice you can’t leave a new review right now. HubSpot said they knew reviews needed tweaking so they are working on a better, new review system but for now you’ll only see existing reviews. They also removed a few filters that weren’t getting much use.
However, the page definitely got a face lift and is now available to non-HubSpot customers whereas it only used to be in the app. Now users can find a partner before they begin their HubSpot journey. Listings are also now available for un-tiered partners. This helps with sales partners who focus on sales enablement and sales tools.
Ultimately, as a marketer at an organization the changes will make it easier for you to find an agency to match your needs.
Traffic and Conversion Summit Update!
As are most things DigitalMarketer puts on, it was great! 3 days chock full of great content, speakers and insights. Bob, Tom and Stacy brought back lots of info for our team but Bob also shared the Ryan Deiss keynote in Elite and asked how everyone felt about it.
What Marketers Be Talkin' 'Bout
Where we go over what you're saying in IMPACT Elite.
In Elite, Bob shared the 3 shifts that Ryan Deiss believes all marketers need to be aware of and take advantage of:
Conversation is the new lead, and how we need to capitalize on the power of chat bots to engage with our customers in a faster, more helpful way.
Community is the new brand - and how important it is for you to be the go-to resource for your industry.
Customer is the new power broker, and the companies that are the most customer centric will win.
Stacy weighed in to say all of this was continuously reinforced by the other speakers at Traffic & Conversion Summit.
She went on to say how conversation marketing was by far the hottest topic at the conference. David Cancel (CEO of Drift) had some amazing points along these lines about how we marketers have become so obsessed with excel spreadsheets and analytics that we forget how important human conversations are, and how much more valuable to the business they can be than numbers in a spreadsheet.
At IMPACT, we clearly believe in community, so this one is a no-brainer. Facebook is making a lot of moves and changes to foster this type of community engagement so it is only going to become more important.
What I love about the third one (Customer is the new power broker) is that it isn’t new at all. Customer has always been king, sometimes we just need a reminder.
I also loved the 40+ comment thread on Bob's discussion in Elite where Chad Pollitt, John McTigue, Doug Davidoff and Chris Handy had an EPIC conversation about all of this. Chris even suggested a “Facebook live [with] a good-natured panel discussion” which I would personally love to witness!
Next in Elite...
There was a great post by Kaitlyn Casso: I'm looking for some recommendations on how to get sales buy-in when it comes to videos. [...]Here are things they are worried about:
Displaying the client to the public giving our competitors a chance to try to steal them
They will feel uncomfortable recording themselves
It will put a damper on their relationship because now they are uncomfortable saying no to us.
We tend to get pushback from anything where we're asking sales to help even after sending over stats and articles. Check out the full post and discussion in Elite.
Zach Basner replied with a few thoughts. He said "first, the chances of them being stolen shouldn’t be a major concern because you’re already recognizing them as one of your greatest customers. [...]
There’s a chance they’ll say no. But if that’s all it takes to dampen the relationship, then perhaps they aren’t the best candidate for a video testimonial in the first place."
He also attached a few video testimonials he loves! Check them out.
Salma Jafri replied agreeing with Zach and pointing out how a good next step would be to map out the types of videos according to a potential buyer's journey.
Stacy said: "I'd agree with most of the great advice presented by the incredibly smart members of elite. Often one of the most overlooked parts of this conversation is how it will make the customer feel to be a part of something like this. Most often they are flattered that you’d like them to participate and it actually helps with the relationship. And as all marketers, I like to play amateur psychologist. But one of the most interesting things about humans is how being asked to do a favor someone actually makes us like them more."
There was another great post by Elite member John McTigue posted: “With all of the hype about AI and automation in sales and marketing, how are you layoff-proofing yourself? What will make you indispensable in the next few years?” Check out the full post and discussion in Elite.
I personally was drawn to this immediately because it closely relates to the topic I’m submitting to speak on at INBOUND this year.
John said he’d: "learn as much as possible about all of the apps coming on stream, pick a few that make the most sense for your typical clients and dive in. Be THE EXPERT in those apps. Then show the money to your company, your customers and the World."
Ed Marsh reminded us “but simultaneously know that the run will only last 2-3 years and don’t get comfortable even as dominant. Really hard!”
Emily Hulstein weighed in saying: “AI can only offer so much “human” to it’s list of capabilities. Practice empathy and become great at understanding the power of emotional human connections. That can’t be replaced. You will always bring something to the table that AI cannot.”
Digital Marketing News
Where each week, we share one thing from the world of digital marketing that caught our eye.
Forbes: Let’s Get Emotional: The Future of Online Marketing
Emotion analytics has been a field for a number of years now, but mostly relegated to super techie machine learning companies. They’ve been working to build methods to analyze voice, tone, posture, and other indicators of emotions to try and quantify and analyze someone’s emotions.
Now marketing is going to benefit from some of these ideas. There are a few companies out there working on facial tracking technologies to do just this (in fact Apple even bought one of these start-ups to bring the knowledge in house).
This will help bring us back to the core of marketing. We know that people buy a feeling or an emotion rather than a product or a “thing.” This technology may help us dial in our messaging and help connect companies to the consumers they serve on a more human level.
Rand Fishkin: “My Last Day at Moz. My First Day at SparkToro.”
Rand's post was so transparent and honest and I think that's part of what we love so much about him. What caught my eye even more though was what he's up to next. Rand says in his blog, “I’m hoping we can solve the thorny, painful problem of discovering where a given audience spends time, who and what they listen to, and where they engage.
Some folks call this “influencer marketing” but I’ve found that terminology to be too limiting. It’s often exclusively associated with paying Instagram and YouTube celebrities to post about a product, and that’s not where this product/company is going. In the next year, I hope to have a product I can show you."
I'm really excited to see what he comes up with!
Search Engine Land: Multifaceted featured snippets begin rolling out in Google search results
Roughly 41% of voice search results came from Featured Snippets.
Multifaceted featured snippets will be surfaced for queries that are sufficiently broad enough to allow for more than one interpretation of what was submitted. When this happens the results page will include more than one featured snippet.
One of the most interesting parts is it says “with the original query rewritten as the questions the algorithm assumes the user may have intended” Sound familiar? Sounds like They Ask You Answer to me!
Next Steps:
We would love your comments! Feel free to send us an email or comment on the Facebook thread.
If you really liked it, please give us a 5-star review on iTunes.
We're going to IMPACT Elite to ask what you want us to talk about, so jump in on the post there.
Join Us Next Week!
We'll be back again next Thursday, March 8th at 1:00 PM ET.
Until next time... get out there and make it happen.

NFL 2017 Week 3 Power Rankings – Let’s be optimistic
From the new-No. 1 Atlanta Falcons all the way down to the New York Jets, there’s at least one reason for all 32 teams to be optimistic.
The Cowboys are in trouble. Or are they? Kareem Hunt will be the best of the rookie running backs. Or will it be someone else? We’re examining early-season storylines for legitimacy and sustainability in Week 2’s lessons.
Tom Brady returned to his old self against the friendly Saints defense, while DeShone Kizer threw two costly fourth-quarter interceptions.

Here’s a rundown of our Week 3 Power Rankings as determined by ESPN’s power panel — a group of more than 80 writers, editors and TV personalities — through rose-colored glasses.
Methodology note: These rankings reflect which teams voters think would win head-to-head matchups. Higher-ranked teams would be favored against lower-ranked teams. Coming off a win doesn’t guarantee a jump, and coming off a loss doesn’t guarantee a fall.
ESPN Stats & Information’s John McTigue contributed the following information.
Previous rankings: Week 2 | Preseason
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 7
Falcons fans can drop any concerns about Steve Sarkisian running the offense. FPI has the Falcons as the second-rated offense so far this season, and Matt Ryan is averaging nearly 10 yards per pass attempt. The Falcons are just the fourth Super Bowl loser to start the next season 2-0.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 3
The Chiefs were expected to be a playoff team at the start of the season, but Kareem Hunt might have Chiefs fans aiming even higher. Hunt’s five scrimmage touchdowns are tied for second-most by a player through his first two NFL games.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 1
Le’Veon Bell might be off to a slow start, but the other Steeler B’s aren’t. Ben Roethlisberger has completed 21 passes for 16 yards per catch to Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant this season. Pittsburgh is off to a 2-0 start for the second straight year.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 4
Tom Brady reminded everyone in Week 2 that he is still, in fact, Tom Brady, and that alone is reason for optimism. But another reason for optimism is the Patriots’ stable of running backs, who have combined for a league-best 385 yards from scrimmage this season. James White, Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead are all producing early on.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 6
The Raiders have two wins, have yet to turn the ball over and have the best point differential through two games (plus-35). If the Raiders keep that up, there will be plenty more dancing for Marshawn Lynch this season.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 2
Green Bay fans should be used to this kind of start, as the Packers have now opened five of the past six seasons 1-1. Considering they’ve made the playoffs in eight straight seasons, an early loss is nothing to worry about.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 15
Everyone knew the defense would be good this season, but Trevor Siemian has thrown six touchdowns, and C.J. Anderson is second in the NFL in rushing. If the offense keeps producing, the Broncos will be right back in the mix atop the AFC standings.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 5
Ezekiel Elliott was bound to have a bad game at some point in his NFL career, and at least it came on the road against a special Broncos defense. Last season, Elliott started a streak of four straight 130-yard rushing games in Week 3, so he could just be warming up.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 8
The Seahawks have scored just one touchdown through two games, but the offense could be getting a spark from rookie running back Chris Carson, who has seemingly taken over the top spot. Carson is averaging 2.6 yards per rush after contact this season, second-best in the NFL.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 14
Some might argue that two wins over the dregs of Ohio are nothing to write home about, but eight interceptions, eight sacks and 10 points allowed certainly are. Only the 2006 Ravens allowed fewer points in the franchise’s first two games of the season (six).
2017 record: 1-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 13
Jameis Winston didn’t turn the ball over in Tampa Bay’s opening game, which marked the first time in his three-year career that he didn’t turn it over in the season opener. The Bucs have 15 straight games ahead, but if turnovers are limited, there’s no reason they can’t make a run at the playoffs.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 10
Matthew Stafford is tied for the league lead in touchdown passes (6) and is off to the second 2-0 start of his career. That would be reason enough to be optimistic, but the defense is tied for the second-most takeaways, giving Detroit excitement on both sides of the ball.
2017 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 11
If you’re worried about Cam Newton and the offense despite the 2-0 start, don’t be. The offense will come around, and this is only the third defense in the past 30 years to allow six or fewer points through the first two games of the season.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 16
Derrick Henry provided a big spark in the second half Sunday and could find himself more involved going forward. A backfield featuring the 2014 and 2015 Heisman winners could be tough to handle for opposing defenses.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 9
How many Eagles quarterbacks have thrown for 300 yards and multiple touchdowns in each of the first two games of the season? Four. Ron Jaworski (1982), Randall Cunningham (1994), Donovan McNabb (2006) and Carson Wentz (2017). Wentz does not appear to be primed for a “sophomore slump.”
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 12
Sam Bradford’s injury is concerning, but the Vikings have to feel good about Dalvin Cook. He’s averaging 5.6 yards per rush and has the most rushing yards (191) by any Vikings player in his first two career games, topping Adrian Peterson by 22.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 24
Washington can be a force when its rushing attack gets going. Over the past three seasons, the Redskins are 15-2-1 when rushing for at least 90 yards as a team (3-13 when they don’t). The 229 rush yards Sunday against the Rams were Washington’s second-most in that span.
2017 record: 1-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 23
Jay Cutler completed 73 percent of his passes and threw zero interceptions in his debut with the Dolphins. He might not have racked up yardage, but he also didn’t make the big mistake. With Jay Ajayi continuing to power through defenses, Cutler playing it safe might be all Miami needs.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 17
The offense is struggling right now, but if the Giants can fix their protection issues, Eli Manning could get going quickly. Manning is completing 77 percent of his passes when he isn’t pressured this season, and that’s without the help of Odell Beckham Jr. at 100 percent. Just give it (and Eli) time.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 26
Deshaun Watson’s rushing ability could be enough to keep the Texans’ offense moving as he develops his passing skills. The rookie has scrambled for a league-high 82 yards so far this season, including a game-changing 49-yard score Thursday night.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 20
Carson Palmer had three completions on passes thrown 20 or more yards in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win after starting the season 2-of-8 on such passes. If that fourth quarter is a sign of things to come for Palmer and not an aberration, the Cardinals’ offense will be just fine.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 18
Jared Goff is showing big improvement in his second season. Sure, he has only two passing touchdowns so far, but he’s averaging 9.8 yards per attempt, up 4.5 yards from his 2016 average. That’s currently the fourth-best rate in the NFL.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 19
The bad news is the defense in New Orleans has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. The good news is that Drew Brees still has it at 38 years old, and as long as he keeps slinging it, the Saints could have a fighting chance. Brees has thrown the most passes without a pick (82) so far this season.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 22
Maybe the best news for the Chargers is that it would be statistically improbable to keep losing this many close games. The Chargers are 1-10 in games decided by seven or fewer points the past two seasons, and more wins are bound to come from those situations.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 21
A 22-point win was followed by a 21-point loss for Jacksonville. The good news is if the Jags can get stability at quarterback, the team could really be going somewhere. Leonard Fournette is second in rushes and grinding out yards, and the pass defense has yielded the fourth-best opponent Total QBR.
2017 record: 1-1 Week 2 ranking: No. 27
Three teams have played twice this season and allowed one or fewer touchdowns: the Panthers, the Ravens and the Bills. The offense might lack some firepower, but the defense doesn’t.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 28
The good news for Chicago is that Mitchell Trubisky doesn’t have to deal with the Bears’ issues with dropped passes (league-leading seven) or Jordan Howard’s slow start (2.7 yards per rush). He can continue to learn from the bench while the Bears develop and get healthy.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 25
The Bills fired their offensive coordinator following an 0-2 start last season and then averaged 31.0 PPG in their next four games (all wins). The firing of offensive coordinator Ken Zampese could kick-start Cincinnati’s offense in a similar fashion.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 30
Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco are a combined 37-4 against the Browns in their careers, so an 0-2 start against those veterans with a rookie quarterback at the helm isn’t that surprising. Cleveland’s next three games are against the Colts, Bengals and Jets, who are a combined 0-6, so wins or even a win streak could be right around the corner.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 31
Jacoby Brissett joined the Colts on Sept. 2 and seemed like a vast improvement over Scott Tolzien despite losing in Week 2. The good news is if Brissett can win one or two games, Andrew Luck could be healthy in time to face the entire AFC South slate. With no one currently better than 1-1, the division is very much up for grabs.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 29
The offense is still searching for its first touchdown of the season. But the defense has shown a lot of improvement. The 49ers allowed the most points last season, but currently rank 10th in points allowed per game.
2017 record: 0-2 Week 2 ranking: No. 32
For an offense that some thought could be among the worst all time, the Jets are scoring some points. They’ve averaged 16.0 points per game so far, which is the same as the 2-0 Panthers and better than teams such as the Seahawks, Texans and Bengals. And hey, the Jets are currently the highest scoring team in New York, topping both the Bills and Giants.
