Hey yo, thanks for the recommendations! 🧡 I'm pretty under-read for manga still, and it's super rare that I actually get into and fully finish any shows because of my stupidly sporadic and picky attention span. But let me quickly run through the list:

•Attack on Titan: haven't seen / read it

•Code Geass: watched like the first episode because I heard Lelouch was a cool character, but mecha and military stuff isn't normally my thing

•Monster: I own the entire manga series and have read about halfway through it! Very good, though so solemn and bleak I lost some steam on it and took a long break. I plan to finish reading it this year, though! I also tried to find the anime, but it seems really hard to track down?

•Cowboy Bebop: watched the first 5 or so episodes a while back. Love the animation and the aesthetic but had a hard time understanding the premise or caring about the characters, then got distracted and stopped

•One Punch Man: watched the first season several years ago and loved it! Saitama and Mumen Rider were my big faves. Need to watch the next season sometime. Also read some of the manga, it was great, ONE is v funny indeed

•Fullmetal Alchemist: owned the first three volumes of the manga about a decade ago, was better written than most but I just didn't get sucked into it at the time. Might try it again soon with the anime

•Hunter x Hunter: saw the first few episodes, seemed really promising and well-written! Would like to finish it someday

•Tokyo Ghoul: own the first volume of the manga, really didn't care for the writing and unfortunately lost interest in it fairly fast

•Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: have read about 60% of part 4, and seen maybe 5 episodes from the same part? Definitely weird and creative and pretty entertaining, though realistic/logical worldbuilding and morally grey characters are usually more my taste

•NGE: watched the first 9 or so episodes last year with some friends. Loved the animation and thought the writing was good, though it's extremely serious in a way that can burn me out after a while, and mecha stuff isn't really my thing

•Devilman Crybaby: tried to watch it twice and was too disappointed by the writing to finish it, though the premise and the music were good. Also read some of the original Devilman manga and quite enjoyed it before I got distracted and then stopped

•Souleater: haven't seen it / read it

•Hellsing Ultimate: haven't seen it / read it

•Berserk: haven't seen it / read it

•Naruto: haven't seen it / read it, though sometimes I think about trying it... the extremely long nature of it is very daunting to me though, I'm such an impatient and flaky show watcher as it is

•One Piece: haven't seen it / read it, though for some reason I like how Monkey D Luffy looks and want to give it a shot sometime, though I also know it's like the longest thing of all time 😅

My Review of Konosuba

(Short for: KonoSuba - God's Blessing on This Wonderful World)

How did I get into this anime? As you all know, I’m being an absolute lazy-ass when it comes to Isekai animes and have only gotten into the recent hits as of 2019. I already finished the suffer edition and the struggle edition. Let’s check out the light-hearted, wonk-fest! But before that…

Let’s go back to the mid-1990s and rewatch the first episode of Yu Yu Hakusho. We all remember Yusuke Urameshi sacrificing his life in order to save a child about to be hit by a truck followed by being told that the child would have survived regardless if Yusuke interfered or not. So dude just wasted his fucking life for nothing! Let’s amp this trope up to 483 with the way our main lead in Konosuba dies. Kazuma Satou was on his way back home from purchasing a video game when he noticed a girl about to be hit by a car. He pushes her out of the way and yada, yada, yada he’s dead!

He is now in a limbo setting, standing before a goddess named Aqua who tells Kazuma that his death was absolutely meaningless. Not only would the girl have survived, it wasn’t even a car, it was a slow-moving tractor. And Kazuma didn’t get hit by the tractor, he suffered a heart attack due to shock, followed by pissing his pants, followed by doctors, family, and relations laughing at Kazuma’s humiliating experience. And then he dies!

Aqua tells Kazuma that he has two options. He can either go to Heaven or be transported to a fantasy world (much like a game) and try to defeat a demon king. Choosing the fantasy world, Kazuma is given the opportunity to take an item with him on his travels. Now at this point, Kazuma has been annoyed by this goddess’s attitude towards him and decides to be a dick. So Kazuma chooses Aqua to be with him on his journey. Sucks for Kazuma however, because Aqua is useless! And unlike the video games Kazuma’s used to, he and Aqua must do manual labor and pay off expenses in the first town. So they might be there for a while.

Kazuma ends up with two more members in his crew including a witch named Megumin that uses explosive magic and a masochistic crusader named Lalatina Dustiness Ford (or Darkness for short). But don’t get too excited! Megumin’s magic can only be used once a day, wiping away her energy. And while Darkness has a mean sword, she misses every time with it. So yeah, this is a rag-tag team of useless dopes. Let’s watch the wacky misadventures of Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness as they go on missions, drink until they puke, explode castles, and steal underwear.

Yes, Kazuma occasionally does this.

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: Crunchyroll has been able to bless the masses with an English dub. Can’t let FUNimation have all the Isekai hits. So far it’s been alright and I’m hearing more Erica Mendez and Cristina Vee. All good things here! Plus it gives me a chance to hear the voices of Kazuma, whom up to this point I have minimal time listening to either person who plays him. And annoying as Aqua may be, Faye Mata does a really good job with that range Sora Amamiya set in the original. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

*Darkness is played by Ai Kayano (known for Alice on SAO: Alicization, Menma on Anohana, Nana on Golden Time, Ryouko on Food Wars, Itsuwa on Index, Yukika on My Love Story, and Mayaka on Hyouka)

ENGLISH CAST: *Kazuma is played by Arnie Pantoja (known for Watchdog-Man on One Punch Man and Kanbarry on Re:Zero)

*Darkness is played by Cristina Vee (known for Homura on Madoka Magica, Rei/Sailor Mars on Sailor Moon, Mio on K-ON, Sakura on Fate/Stay Night UBW, Kotori on Love Live, and Kanaria on Rozen Maiden: Traumend)

FAVORITE CHARACTER: Darkness is best girl, don’t at me!

SHIPPING (sorta): Can we just all agree that Darkness is just a sober version of Cheryl from Archer?

Whoever ends up with her will end up choking her either because she tells you to or she annoys you with her masochistic nature! I seriously do not know how you want me to turn this shipping discussion into anything other than a comment about a bitch getting choked.

ENDING TO SEASON ONE: Kazuma has been able to get a little good luck in his other world as he was finally able to move out of the stables and into a house with the rest of his crew. Although, it didn’t come easy! Then again, what has in this series? In the final episode of the first season, all of the adventures of the town were called to take on a scary foe. Up to this point, we’ve seen these guys take out mutant cabbages and an idiot dullahan. Today we’ve got…

A giant, mechanical spider!

Why do the stupidest stories always rely on a giant, mechanical spider? Kazuma and the rest were able to stop the spider from moving. However, this monstrosity is set to explode and the impact could take out the entire town. Darkness wants to repay the town for all it has done for her and her family. The adventurer men want to repay the town because of all the succubus taverns they love. And Kazuma just wants to continue his journey so he can take out the demon king. Now, because Megumin already used her explosion magic for the day, she’s down for the count. But she was able to do it a second time thanks to Kazuma transferring some magic from Aqua through his spell and with a little help from Wiz. The day is saved, Kazuma and his crew got a hefty reward, and then Kazuma is immediately charged with treason for sending the evidence to a higher up and it exploded.

Believe it or not, but a lot of these quests end with a giant middle finger to them. Almost like Curb Your Enthusiasm!

EPISODE 11: The special episode that followed came with some more misfortune for Kazuma. A trip to Wiz’s shop ends with a choker around Kazuma’s neck that’s going to strangle him in three days if his wish doesn’t come true. So to figure out what Kazuma’s wish is, Kazuma has all of these girls fulfill his greatest desires in the hopes of one of these humiliating tasks will release Kazuma from the choker.

As you can guess, because this is an OVA, it will be filled to the brim with degeneracy compared to the television series. Fuck yeah it was! Kazuma used this opportunity to use Wiz’s tits as comfy pillows, have Megumin play “Strip Rock/Paper/Scissors” with Yunyun, have Aqua fetch him food, and watch Darkness jiggle her breasts. Even when he thought he was at death’s door, he uses this special time to tell each girl with him at this dramatic moment that they are nothing more than tits and ass. All except for Aqua! No love for her. Not even a pity erection! So when the spell on the choker was released due to a simple wish, Kazuma was then killed by Aqua and quite possibly everyone else and Kazuma was sent back to the goddess chamber as he learned a powerful lesson.

Don’t ever do that again!

Damn…Kazuma died 3 times so far in 11 episodes. Subaru got you beat by a country mile. He’s probably looking at you like, “You damn, lucky dumbass. I got frozen, shanked, stabbed, sliced, maced, and eaten by bunnies”.

SEASON TWO: As I mentioned at the end of season one, Kazuma is charged with treason and usually that comes with a death sentence. Unfortunately for Kazuma, his unintentional crime was against this big, fat, smelly noble who has many higher-ups wrapped around his finger. The townspeople can’t really help him out otherwise they’d risk being charged as well. And you have a prosecutor wanting Kazuma’s head on a pike not only for the major charge, but for being a pervert. The writing is on the wall, Kazuma is screwed. However, thanks to Darkness (and her family lineage) she was able to take one for the team by saving Kazuma (for now) and have that big, fat, smelly noble do God knows what to her. Also, the kingdom repossessed a lot of things from Kazuma’s crew.

So they’re worse than “square one” at this point. They’re at “square -57” with how much debt they’ve all accumulated.

ENDING TO SEASON TWO: Things are starting to look up for Kazuma and his crew. They were able to abolish their debt, got the treason charges lifted, and they were able to gain back some respect around the village. So what better way to celebrate then to go on a bit of vacation. The gang decided to head off to another town for some rest and relaxation. Unfortunately, the town they spent their time off at is full of religious wackos. And what I mean by religious wackos, I mean WORSE than Jehova Witnesses, Evangelical Christians, and the Heaven’s Gate cult all rolled into one.

…Okay, I’m obviously embellishing here. I just really fucking hate all of those ones I just mentioned. This cult is so fucking annoying! At every turn they’re trying to convert Kazuma, Megumin, and Darkness into their fold.

Oh wait, it gets better! This cult worships the goddess Aqua! And of course our favorite idiot Aqua was using this to her advantage. That is until a priest didn’t believe her, starting a chain reaction with the townsidiots all leading up to them chasing Kazuma and crew out with pitchforks and fire. Apparently, Aqua did a big no-no by purifying the hot spring water and now it’s just regular water.

Unfortunately at that same time, a general to the dark lord was in area poisoning all of the water in this town. Yeah, this guy is serious trouble since he’s on a higher level than Wiz (back when she was working under the demon king). But he’s a slime and works with poison. In this world, Kazuma doesn’t stand a chance. Surprisingly, this battle went well (albeit Kazuma dying inside the slime), but we got to see Aqua at her baddest of ass. Now you’d think the town would be grateful to Kazuma and his team for ridding them of a demon king general. Hahaha, never trust religious nutjobs! They still found fault with Aqua purifying their hot springs and they were thrown out.

In the 11th episode (or second side-story), Kazuma thought he was meeting a new fan in town. So he regales her with tales of his expoditions to woo her. Turns out the girl is a new member of the local tavern and one of her jobs is to listen to useless adventurers to boost their morale. And this girl was totally not digging Kazuma. I think this hurt Kazuma more than all the times he’s died in this series.

MOVIE: We head off to the land where Megumin and Yunyun were born and raised. While there was some miscommunication into if the town and their families were in trouble to begin with, trouble sure found Kazuma and the gang once they arrived. Another general of the demon king ends up causing quite a stir in the town. Sylvia was extra hard to take down in this story. Just when you thought she was dead, she returns from death’s door and brings the poison slime from season two and the dullahan from season one to wreck havoc all across the land. Luckily, Kazuma, his crew, Wiz, Yunyun, and the rest of the townspeople were able to put an end to Sylvia and her cohorts.

But man, Kazuma got some really shitty deals in this movie. His trashy and perverted reputation isn’t any better. Megumin’s father wanted to kill him. Megumin’s mother locked Kazuma and Megumin in a room together in hopes of doing the nasty, was messed with by a chimera of two genders, and was killed in a gruesome way that even the angels had to throw up when they saw the state of Kazuma.

On a positive note, Megumin seemed to have grown a little with this adventure as she was even thinking of putting her explosive magic on hold and give a whirl at other options. But she still gave a giant explosion that’s worth 120 points.

Konosuba was amusing. Definitely worth a few chuckles! I know it won’t be for everyone as comedy in anime can often be hit-or-miss. But the combination of characters with many quirks, the animation, the setting, the tasks, and misunderstandings, you’ve got yourself an anime version of Curb Your Enthusiasm. So…yeah, not for everyone, hit-or-miss! But in the big five isekai animes, this one is a little more light compared to some of the others. Overlord can get quite gory. Shield Hero will anger any sane person to a point of madness. And Re:Zero is just a misery blanket! Konosuba is that light-hearted comedy where sometimes the main protagonist dies horrificly in battle, but will return like Kenny from South Park. So if Shield Hero and Re:Zero depress you, maybe you might need a break with the silly, zany antics of Kazuma’s crew in Konosuba.

Results may vary on your views of Aqua.

What anime would you recommend to someone that is new to the genre, The only one Iv seen all of is Cowboy Bebop and it was amazing.

Ok so I’m assuming this is the genre of anime itself?? I’m not sure so I’m just going to give a bunch of recommendations for different anime genres.. Sorry if this isn’t what you meant! Here we go!

Action: I would definitely recommend starting with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It was my third anime and one of my top three favorite anime of all time. It’s action packed, full of drama and really amazing characters, and the animation and music are 10/10! Another recommendation would be My Hero Academia!

Comedy: The Devil is a Part-Timer!! I highly recommend this anime as well as the manga and light novels to anyone looking for a funny anime with some amazing fight scenes! Not all of the jokes are my thing, but 90% of the jokes are hilarious. The pacing and the humor have me cracking up every time and it’s such a fun anime I go back and watch it on bad days just for laughs!

Drama/Tragedy: I lumped these together cause I really didn’t know what I would do if I split them. I definitely recommend these two if you want a tragic anime. Either Ajin: Demi-Human or Tokyo Ghoul. With Ajin I would definitely recommend the manga over the anime because the second season kind of went and did its own thing and went off the storyline. Tokyo Ghoul is kind of the same. Both are really gory but also really amazing. If gore isn’t your thing, I recommend Death Note! A classic crime anime with death gods, notebooks, apples, and more!

Psychological: Ok this is another top three favorite anime of mine. Death Parade! It’s only twelve episodes but so far it’s the only anime that’s ever made me cry (and that’s saying something cause I have seen a lot). The storyline is wonderfully paced, the characters are so unique, and the animation is stunning!! Moonlit Parade is my favorite anime OST of all time and I owe it to this anime!

History: This one was a little hard but I decided on Dororo. It’s relatively new and it sucks you in really quick! Hyakkimaru and Dororo are very likable and their relationship is one of my favorites throughout anime. But warning! It is a gory anime! 

Supernatural: Darker than Black! The last among my top three anime of all time! The powers in this show are fascinating with characters having supernatural abilities but having a price to pay each time. Whether that’s eating a hamburger or breaking your fingers, the price is unique to each person. It’s also like a cop/crime anime but with super human people! If Darker than Black isn’t your thing, I recommend Sirius the Jaeger or Noragami! Both really good shows!

Magic: Ok so I obviously have to recommend this one, it’s my freaking username. Fairy Tail! It’s long, and some parts are kind of slow, but ultimately I love this anime, even if I don’t watch it too often anymore. Other recommendations would be Seven Deadly Sins or Soul Eater!

Last category! Romance!: I don’t watch much romance anime, but if I had to recommend one, it would be Ouran High School Host Club! It was my first anime and holds a dear place in my heart. I have so many fond memories of this show, I have roses from cosplayers of this anime and I grin like an idiot whenever I watch it. Some of the jokes make me cringe, but it’s an anime from like 2003 so I cut it some slack :)

- DEATH NOTE (netflix, crunchyroll, funimation, kisscartoon)

it follows a guy named Light Yagami who discovers that a shinigamai(god of death) dropped a notebook into the human realm and that whoever’s name is written in it will die(and you can specify how, if you’d like). it shows how he becomes sort of a vigilante to put criminals in place. he is then under suspect as the killer by L, a smart and elite person who works with the police and has never lost a case.

fave characters: matsuda and L are high up there...as well as Mello, Mikami, and Gevanni ships: i mean the most common ship is Lawlight(LxLight) but i think my main are lawtsuda(L x matsuda), mikalight (mikami x light), mikanni (mikami x gevanni), and mellodramattic(mello x matt)/nearlymellodramattic(near x mello x matt)!!! remisa is also cute:( notes: i just spent all my money on the manga! i’m so excited to read it!!! 

- SIRIUS THE JAEGER (netflix,  probably kisscartoon but i havent looked)

the main character, Yuliy Jirov, is the last of his tribe (he is a sirus. so like...sorta like a werewolf) and he is set to revenge his family’s death as a jaeger(hunter. but like. a vampire hunter) but it turns out his brother, Mikhail, is alive and was turned. the main goal of the plot is to find and also somehow protect this thing called Ark Of Sirius , which is sort of like sacred power that was given to Yuliy’s tribe, from falling into vampire hands.

- CASTLEVANIA (netflix, ???)

Dracula sends creatures of the night(? literally don’t know another way to describe them. uh. monsters?) to attack the cities of Wallachia because they killed his, albeit human, wife (her name is Lisa)because they thought she practiced witchcraft. It follows Trevor Belmont, the last son of the Belmont family (a family that basically killed these creatures + vampires); Sypha Belnades, a badass speaker magician; and Adrian ‘Alucard’ Tepes, the son of dracula. their goal is to end the war against the human race. It also shows Dracula’s side of things and follows the two humans that are on his court, Hector and Isaac (they both denounced humanity because of their bad upbringings/experiences)

Can you explain why you think Attack on Titan had a better ending than Rise of the Titans?

Note the following contains spoilers for the end of AoT cause i read the manga. If you're an anime only then here's your warning

Reason 1: Attack on Titan's ending made sense after rereading the series. Rise of the Titans does not.

With AoT. I know a lot of people had problems with the ending. But when i first read it i thought it was okay. I have seen and heard worse endings. Then after rereading the manga i find that the ending makes sense. It's still okay to me, but i understand how everything led up to it.

Now RotT. I had rewatched all three series to prepare before the movie came out. Trollhunters, 3Below, and Wizards. All 88 episodes done before the movie. Then the movie came out and it made no sense. Everything about not just the ending, but the movie made no sense.

Reason 2: The end of Attack on Titan is an ending. The end of Rise of the Titans isn't.

Attack on Titan's ending really felt like an end. It's a bittersweet ending, but it is ending. Eren is dead at the hands of Mikasa, but the Rumbling has wiped out 80% of humanity, but with Eren's death the power of the Titans is gone, 3 years later Armin and the others are returning to Paradis to explain everything and meet Mikasa, Levi has retire with Falco and Gabi as his caretakers, Eren may have become a bird to continue to wrap the scarf around Mikasa like he promised, even the extra pages helps to confirm that everyone lives long and happy lives like Eren wanted.

Rise of the Titans ending is not an ending and more of a open ending. The Arcane Order and the Titans are gone, but with many lives lost, including Toby, Jim uses the Time Stone and goes back to the beginning of Trollhunters and has Toby become the Trollhunter, and we don't know how everything goes.

Reason 3: There are bad endings worse than Attack on Titan, and there are bad endings better than Rise of the Titans.

Okay this is more of me talking about endings of other series.

Let's look at Bleach's ending. I hate it not cause of what happened, but because it was rushed. There are things that weren’t explain til the novels. But that wasn’t Kubo’s fault. It was the higher ups that made him rush the ending. And with the anime returning for the final arc i can only hope that it can fix the rushed ending.

Now to The Promised Neverland. I like the ending. It was sad, but you knew something was up and was expecting it. Do i think there should’ve been more chapters? Yes. But i still liked the ending and cried over it.

Let’s look at Game of Thrones. Now i have never seen GoT, but i have heard about what happened. And coming from someone who’s never watched the show, i hate the ending. It was so bad. It was so bad that even George R.R. Martin hates it. But the ending was bound to fail as season 8 continued the more bad it got. And there’s the fact that it was an original ending. And George R.R. Martin hates it as much as the fans, so the books ending will be different.

Look at Tokyo Ghoul. The ending was rushed like Bleach’s, but instead of hating it, i loved it. Tokyo Ghoul’s ending was rushed, but it didn’t leave me questioning about things like characters fates and such. It told us what happened after, with somethings being left in the open for us to interpret, something that was really left out in Bleach.

Now to Voltron. Voltron’s ending sucks. But it was going downhill since season 4 so the ending was to be expected. It wasn’t rushed. It was just written that way and the writers thought it was good. Nope. Now whenever Voltron is trending everyone looks at it with disgust.

Now for Star vs the Forces of Evil. The ending was hated and the show was ruined cause of the ships. But i don’t think the ending was bad. I just think there could’ve been more to help before the final decision. Maybe a movie to expand the ending.

Okay that’s enough about other series endings. Back to the main point.

Reason 4: Every death meant something.

This is one of Attack on Titan’s selling point. There are deaths, and they mean something to the characters. That one minor character death? Well Eren remembers them and continues to think how it could’ve been avoided. There are deaths of major characters like Ymir, Kenny, Erwin, Bertholdt, Sasha, etc. And all these deaths would help develop the characters into who we see by the ending. You wish none of them had to die, but it had to happen and there’s no turning back.

Rise of the Titans had deaths, but then they were brush off and forgotten. And then with time travel, not just all the deaths in RotT were undone, but every death throughout all three series are undone. We wished this character didn’t die, but they did. And then Rise of the Titans not only did all that, but it also made the sacrifice of that character to mean nothing.

Reason 5: Eren wouldn’t do what Jim did, and Jim wouldn’t do what Eren did.

Let me ask you. Say Eren Armin and Mikasa switched places with Jim Toby and Claire, and vice versa, Eren is the Trollhunter, and he faces everything Jim has. He defeats Bellroc, but at the cost of Armin. Eren is given the chance to go back to the beginning and let Armin become the Trollhunter, even though it was Eren’s destiny. Do you think Eren would accept that? No he wouldn’t. He wouldn’t do that because it meant losing Mikasa and the relationships he has right now. “But what about when Armin became a Titan Shifter?” That didn’t have anything to do with time travel, and that wasn’t what made Eren lose his relationships with everyone. And it was more of a revival than going back in time.

Jim had seen his mother get eaten by a Titan, and he faces everything Eren has. He learns the truth about the world, and he sees the future. Jim ends up hurting Toby and Claire, then it’s reveal he was the one who made everything happen, becomes the final villain of the series, and brings about the Rumbling to wipe out humanity. Do you think Jim would do all that? Of course not. He wouldn’t beat up Toby and tell Claire he’s always hated her. And he would for sure not commit genocide. I do think Jim can pull off the manbun though.

And that’s it. Why Attack on Titan had the better ending. Hell truth be told. I read the final chapter of Attack on Titan more than i watched Rise of the Titans (And i have not seen RotT since it came out back in July. That was the first, and only, time i seen it) I mean if Attack on Titan ended where Eren uses the Attack Titan’s powers to make his dad give Armin the Attack and Founding Titans then i would raise an eyebrow (Okay wait that sounds pretty cool. Attack Titan Armin. I hope someone sees this) And i would much rather take Jim crying to Toby that he doesn’t want Claire to find another man and then becoming a bird.

And that’s my controversial opinion.

-why didn’t haise get a hole kicked him yet they still showed him getting eviscerated?

-the new effect on kagune just looks terrible

-why didn’t they show haise turning back to normal and the reactions of the quinx squad to him being that powerful, it was extremely important character moment

-why are they inserting fruit kun so early?

-why didn’t they show haise breakdown after urie called him a ghoul again pivotal character moment just thrown out the window 

-they completely took out like half a chapter of interactions between urie when trying to get permission to increase his frame, instead just having him just steal Haise’s stamp of approval literally

-They made the touka reintroduction look bad, just straight up it was weirdly animated, paced terribly, and missed so many pivotal and important lines such all of Mutsuki’s observation of this interaction which for the anime only lets just say that is an extremly important moment of the story.........................

This is probably the first time I’ve gotten this flustered when talking about somethin I should like....... It just saddens me that I thing I like is being handled so bad, I was looking forward to this thinking at least It would be done with the same visual fidelity as the last seasons  given the short amount of episodes... 2. first anime crush

adgfsgfh this should come as no surprise, but my first anime crush was definitely seto kaiba. and even though i’ve grown way out of crushing on him, i still love him to death and would defend him with my life.

6. popular anime you didn’t like

i feel like i’m gonna get some flak for this ahahahaha but i never really got into sailor moon. i know that was a lot of peoples’ gateway anime, so to speak, but it wasn’t the first one i watched, and i just never got into it much because the shoujou genre in general is something i typically don’t gravitate toward? also, during the anime heydays of the early 2000s, i didn’t like naruto (i read it in sj for a while but it didn’t keep my interest), death note, bleach, a lot of those popular series of the time. also, i’ve tried to get into durarara!! but it never kept my interest longer than the first three or four episodes, which is a shame, because i always think it seems like such a good series. :(

11. anime you didn’t expect to like but did

i didn’t expect to like code geass. it took me a long time to get into it because for some reason, when i was younger, i was one of those assholes that was like “if it’s mainstream i don’t like it” but when i finally did get around to it, i loved it! i also didn’t expect to love one punch man as much as i do, even though i haven’t finished it yet.

oh god this list is so long, so i’ll narrow it down to the series that i either want to watch very soon or need to continue.

29. anime that deserves another season

fjhgefufdgw i very rarely find series that i think need another season, because so many series run for SO FUCKING LONG that extra seasons are unnecessary, but i would have loved another season of gravitation back in the day, because the anime left out so much from the manga and that upset me a lot. also, if there could be an entire reboot of the tsubasa anime so that it didn’t suck, that’d be great. orrrrrrrrr an actual anime adaptation of tokyo babylon, not just a movie!

I like people who aren’t afraid of showing who they are even if society doesn’t see them as ‘’right’’. I also like when they think a solution when there’s a problem, instead of blaming anything or anyone. I like people who fight for their dreams, not being afraid of leaving their comfort zone and that won’t stop until they make real what they want in life.

favorite male character: Shinsou Hitoshi and Dabi! Listen. We all have Weaknesses. Mine are usually emotionally compromised.

favorite female character: Hmm, Toga Himiko and Uraraka Ochako! I feel like Toga’s underrated as a character (by both the fandom and the creator w h o o p s) and Uraraka’s adorable! Plus she could totally whip Bakugou’s ass into shape lol

least favorite character: Everyone’s gonna say Mineta. Then, uh, hoo boy, sorry about this discord group Midoriya Monoma All Might Midoriya drives me up the wall like 90% of the time and I don’t know why. He just does. The only Midoriya I actually like is Villain!Midoriya. I get very irritated at over-dramatic wimps public…or private displays l o l. Suck it up chief. 😬 Monoma hasn’t really done anything wrong – Bakugou’s as much of if not more of an ass – but again, he just………bugs me. I think Midoriya and Monoma share some subtle character trope: being dramatic, maybe? Half the time I want everyone to geeet oooover themselvvves, bruv. Take a chill pill. I know weed’s super illegal in Japan but smoke some fuckin’ weed. Your nonsense exhausts me. Please. It’s Gonna Turn Out Okay. Please Stop Screaming And/Or Crying. Please God. Finally, All Might. He’s fine, too. Dadmight can be pretty adorable! His antennae are the worst. Why did his hair do that. Makes me think of the grasshopper from A Bug’s Life.

prettiest character: Todoroki and Kirishima, I think! Momo’s beautiful, of course, but Kiri kind of had the right idea – in a world full of unique and unusual-looking people ‘normal’ will only make you blend in. She doesn’t stand out to me. Sorry, girl. 😕

funniest character: God, just some of the background stuff. Ms. Joke taking the piss out of Aizawa killed me. Todoroki legitimately believing he’s a hand-destroyer. Tokoyami’s room. Kaminari calling Bakugou’s attitude a pile of hot garbage or something like that. “A mad banquet of darkness.” “Revelry in the dark.” Todoroki’s action lines when he’s thinking about being hungry or tired. There’s so much.

favorite season: Three! That’s where they get the dorms, right? I really like the League’s rising action and I’m looking forward to Overhaul and Hawks and Shinsou finally and Eri stuff!

favorite episode: Hmm, I liked the fight between Bakugou and Midoriya! That was beautifully animated. And Midoriya vs. Todoroki in the Sports Festival. Also when the vanguard was first shown in action at the training camp! Again I’m really into rising action l o l

favorite romantic ship: Kacchako’s cute and Kiribaku’s cute! Been leaning towards Shinkami and Shinserokami almost exclusively because of @queenofliz4rds‘s art! I don’t ship a lot of canon x canon, though.
