Remembering Toby Keith

When Toby was young his grandmother owned Billie Garner's Supper Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas where he became interested in the musicians who came there to play. He did odd jobs around the supper club and started getting up on the bandstand to play with the band. He got his first guitar at the age of eight.

Born Toby Keith Covel on July 8, 1961 and died on February 5, 2024 at the age of 62

I’m back after a short hiatus, and let me tell you—I’ve missed you all! My kids and I have been in an intense showdown with the flu (honestly, I’d rather go toe-to-toe with Sabretooth than battle this brutal strain). We’re still dealing with fevers and relentless coughing, but being stuck in quarantine calls for a little fun to lift our spirits.

So, while my kids are happily watching Spidey and His Amazing Friends, I figured it was the perfect time to dive back into my favorite power couple—Wolverine and Storm! 🌩️🦸‍♂️

To make my return extra exciting, I thought we’d kick off a special theme for the next few days: Songs that remind us of Logan and Ororo. 🎶💙 Music has a way of transporting us—whether by evoking cherished memories or bringing to life the scenes we imagine in our minds. So, let’s explore the songs that capture the essence of RoLo’s primal, passionate love story!

First up: Toby Keith’s “You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This.” This song takes me right back to the days when the X-Men would unwind at Harry’s. I can see Logan and Ororo dancing, their undeniable chemistry crackling between them. But this time—their kiss isn’t just a kiss between friends.
