Assorted Headcanons and a Golden Demise sneak peek

Heya! Now that I’ve posted chapter nine, I can finally share a few of the MonsterVerse headcanons that I’ve thought up.

On Tiamat:

Monarch’s profile on Tiamat says that while she can replicate the noises of most other animals in her Titansong, she cannot actually speak. Considering how complicated just plain old whalesong is, I’m easily comfortable saying that Monarch is wrong, and that Tiamat is the only known Titan who can actually, verbally, speak in human languages.

Also, consdering the name of the ability is “Titansong”, in the coexistence or symbiosis timelines, she may be convinced to sing along with humans. And there is no music group that wouldn’t want ft. Titanus Tiamat on one of their songs.

Also, I don’t know fully why, but I have her in my head as having a personality somewhat like a dolphin. She’s the one Titan that can defeat Godzilla in water, in his own element, and she knows it. Playful, but somewhat sadistic.

On the ORCA:

This bit draws from the novelization a little, but in the book, Maddie specifically mentions that the ORCA is cycling through the frequencies of the awakened Titans. So, maybe it can only affect Titans that it scanned and has the bioacoustics of? (this is really so I can add more Titans to the surface without there being plotholes)

On Monarch’s status:

Monarch’s founding has been the subject of a few retcons, and is still being actively changed about with the M:LOM show coming out, but assuming Skull Island’s view is true, Monarch was a pretty small organization up until the expedition. After that, they grew enough to be able to construct the Janjira outpost at the very least, but after 2014 I think there’d be enough evidence of Titans that Monarch would actually become a true, worldwide and supranational organization.

On Jinshin-Mushi:

While the JS-M Primes may have hunted Godzilla’s kind to reproduce, considering how devastating a worldwide plague of them would be, I’d say most Titans would be generally adverse to leaving them be. The parasites would be hunted by everyone else just as fiercely as they do to Godzilla’s species.

On Na Kika:

Canon MonsterVerse gives us very little directly about Na Kika, leaving us to put together the bits we have into a coherent whole. Based on it’s ability to mimic other states, to evade detection, I say it’s as an ambush predator that can even hide itself from the senses of other Titans.

On Titans vs Megafauna/Superspecies

The official definitions aren’t made clear as far as I’m aware, but I’m partial to the distinction being sapience.

Ohoho! I really like these, especially the dolphin-Tiamat comparison, fits her very well. Plus her being able to speak human languages has the potential for a lot of mischief and/or terrifying moments.

Preliminaries: Results

Our first set of polls has officially ended, and here are the results:

Started out pretty close, but Starlight Adventure started pulling ahead and could not be stopped.

Fairy Princess had a commanding lead from the start and never faltered.

Princess Power may be about a superhero, but it wasn't powerful enough to triumph over the titan that is Dolphin Magic.

Barbie and the Secret Door VS Barbie Princess Adventure

I don't think that there's a passionate fanbase for Secret Door, but it still managed an overwhelming victory over Princess Adventure, proving once and for all that Princess Adventure is the worst of the Barbie princess/commoner swap movies.

Barbie and Her Sisters in The Great Puppy Adventure VS Barbie and Her Sisters in a Puppy Chase

The tags and the votes both agreed, and I quote, "Puppy Chase sucked ass".

WINNER: Barbie and Her Sisters in The Great Puppy Adventure (87.3%, 55 votes)

Barbie and Her Sisters in a Pony Tale VS Barbie: Big City Big Dreams

This proved to be our most contentious matchup thus far, and from start to finish it was anyone's game. Ultimately, however, Big City, Big Dreams just edged out its competitor. Sorry Pony Tale, you put up a good fight.

Barbie in Rock 'N Royals VS Barbie Video Game Hero

Video Game Hero has a reputation as one of the worst Barbie movies, and this poll did nothing to help change that.

Barbie: The Pearl Princess VS Barbie & Chelsea: The Lost Birthday

My apologies to the approximately 4 people who voted for the Lost Birthday, but you lost. Pearl Princess truly proved to be the Pearl of this matchup.

Looking ahead for this weeks NFL games (11/21-11/25)

(11/21) My boys in the black and gold kick us off for the week on Thursday against Cleveland in Cleveland. It should be a good day for Pittsburgh's defense going against Jameis Winston and a recieving core who has a huge drops problem. This game is also gonna be a battle between 2 of the most dominate pass rushers in the league, Myles Garrett and TJ Watt and TJ has something to prove after being snubbed of DPOY last year.

(11/24) We get a decent amount of divisional games this day wit Texans vs. Titans, Vikings vs. Bears, Cowboys vs. Commanders, Patriots vs. Dolphins, Broncos vs. Raiders, and Cardinals vs. Seahawks. This should be a good week of NFL games with all of these games fighting to reach #1 in their divisions and divisional games are usually chippy and who doesnt like chippy football.

(11/25) We conclude the week with a brotherly match up between both Harbaugh brothers first match up with Jim being the new head coach of the Chargers.

Anyways my Steelers should advance to 9-2 after this week hopefully the Chiefs lose so we get closer to being the #1 seed in the AFC and get that well needed bye come playoff time. It's always HERE WE GO and go Steelers!!

Last season, we decided not to post a preseason power rankings and let things shake out after Week 1, which led to an interesting initial list based on who ended up 1-0 and 0-1. We were attempting to avoid any offseason bias influencing our rankings later in the year. This season, we tried something different again. We created a preseason list, then averaged the power rankings of six media outlets we respect. The numbers in parentheses below show how far off our picks are from the “consensus” of the six others. In some cases, there might seem to be bias here, but the truth is we are all in on the Bears (and apparently the Jaguars) and way down on the Jets and Packers compared to other outlets. We’ll see how it plays out.

1. Chiefs (Even – consensus No. 1 on all seven sites): They won it all again and, more impressively, won at Buffalo and at Baltimore in the process. How can you pick against them?

2. Ravens (+2): We believed in Baltimore for most of the latter half of last season, right up until the bitter end. We seem to have more faith than others to start, but we’re happy to let it be decided on the field in tonight’s No. 1 vs. No. 2 opener.

3. Lions (-1): If not now, never? Nah, let’s not be negative and ride with the kneecap-gnawers one more season.

10/27 1:00 game slate

Just to start things off, todays early game slate may have been the most entertaining 1 o'clock slate of the season so far with 6-8 games being decided by one score (8-6 points or less). Now the other 2 games... were blow outs but we will get to that. We also had 3 divisional games today.

Eagles vs. Bengals was the battle of the indentical twins, Chase and Sydney Brown and Sydney and his Eagles overpowered the Bengals in a 37-17 win.

We had an AFC North divisional matchup today between the Browns, who lost their starting quarterback last week in Deshawn Watson, but who may have found their new one in Jameis Winston, and the reigning 2023 MVP Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. In a shocking final score the bottom of the division Browns beat the not anymore top of the division Ravens 29-24.

The Lions, whose quarterback Jared Goff who continues to have another week where he throws less incompletions than the team had touchdowns, absolutely rolled over a struggling Titans team who just traded away their best reciever for pretty much a bag of chips and a high-five (a 5th round pick that can become a 4th) the the 6-0 Chiefs out of all teams. The final was 52-14.

The Cardinals beat the Dolphins on Tua's welcome back from his concussion on a 1 second left game winning field goal 28-27.

The Jets' Aaron Rodgers and long time reciever Davante Adams still can not do enough to pull off a win and they lose to the Patriots 25-22 who lost their starting rookie quaterback during the game due to a hand injury.

In an NFC South divisional game the Falcons defeated the Buccaneers 31-26 being carried on the backs of the Falcons runningback, Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts and reciever Darnell Mooney who combined for a total of 63 rushing yards (just Bijan), 220 recieveing yards and 4 touchdowns.

The Packers faced the Jaguars in the Jaguars first game in America since the 6th of Octobor. The Packers ultimately won in a last second field goal. Final 30-27.

In the last divisonal matchup of the 1 o'clock games the AFC South's Colts faced the Texans. Colts quarterback is still struggling and only completed 10 of his 32 passing attemps today while accumulting for 175 yards. 4 of those completions where to Josh Downs who had 109 yards and a touchdown but it still wasnt enough. The Colts were defeated 20-23

Now to the best team in the AFC North, the one and only Pittsburgh Steelers. We play prime time tomorrow at the beautiful Acrisure Stadium against the Giants (💩) at 8:15 to end off week 8 and it should be an easy win. Anyways... it's always HERE WE GO and GO STEELERS!!
