Pocket Mirror - GoldenerTraum is a horror RPG and a remaster of "Pocket Mirror". You play as a young girl with amnesia on her journey to regain her memories and discover who she is. The story is heavily allegorical and you largely have to piece together what happened leading up to the beginning of the game on your own. It's also one of those games where you get the most out of it by getting multiple endings. Thankfully you get access to a chapter selection room after you completing the game the first time, so you don't have to play the game from the beginning (or look up a tutorial) to get the other ending.

The game is a visual feast from start to end. Everything from the pixel art to the CG’s and the character sprites have been beautifully illustrated. I'm not even exaggerating. The game starts with a beautiful opening animation and the quality does not go down from there. The art style is generally very cutesy in a way that doesn't detract but adds to the horror.

Over all I really enjoyed it and I'm very exited to play the prequel game "Little Goody Two Shoes" (When i get around to it >///<)

Your unpopular opinion: inappropriate, rude or sexual jokes are never funny to me, so I guess that? that seems to be a large part of the internet’s sense of humour, and I don’t get it at all Something you’re not proud of: that I sometimes get angry at my brother and yell at him for things that I would find funny at other times Your fear: that I’ll never really be successful at anything or feel accomplished Mental/physical illness?: I’m pretty sure I have anxiety because yikes it definitely isn’t normal to feel or think the way I do Lowest point in your life: when my granda died in march and I failed my driving test pretty soon after that Something you hate about yourself: my chin/jaw/neck area. there’s no definition at all, and when I talk I nearly always have a double chin. ugh I hate it so much. I also hate that I’m so anxious and have such low self esteem because it all shows on my face. I’ve had teachers say “don’t look so scared!” to me at times when I didn’t even realise how anxious I was lol Something you love about yourself: that I love to help people and am naturally kind. I couldn’t ever imagine being intentionally really mean to someone. Just in case you were wondering, this game’s not dead. I’m definitely gonna finish this one!

I’ve actually already done all the levels for the first two areas (though they’re most likely going to be tested and have to be tweaked), so I’ve begun work on the final one, the temple. It’s aesthetically much different than the cave levels to really give that sense of finale. It’s going to have brand new enemies and such as well instead of reusing the slimes, bats, and spiders again.

Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet is a Visual Novel game made by NomNomNami, where you play as the titular character Syrup. Syrup is a candy alchemist who dislikes magic. The game starts as she discovers a golem, something which can only be made by magic, in the basement of her candy shop. While questioning where the golem came from, you also gather ingredients at the same time for a particular dessert. There are ten endings.

Personal thoughts

The game is sweet and funny. I really enjoyed finding all the different endings and quite liked all of them. There are themes in the game about overcoming personal prejudices and I rather like how it was handled. The music and the art are both delightful and fit the tone and story of the game perfectly.
