Timothy Fosu-Mensah completes transfers to Bundesliga

The Dutch international has completed a permanent move to German side Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee.

The 23 year old made his United in 2016 after joining from the youth ranks at Ajax. He made 30 appearances in total for the Red Devils.

Best of luck to him in this new chapter of his career

Jesse Lingard to Hertha Berlin or Inter Milan, either one works for me, I think he could do well at either one. Though I think all the left fullbacks in Serie A would prefer it if he went to Germany, as they don’t want Hakimi AND Lingard running at them for 90 minutes. 😂 I think Antonio Conté would appreciate a player like Jesse, who’s not above putting in a shift defensively, and he seems to get the best out of former United players with a point to prove. Fosu-Mensah, on the other hand, good potential signing for Bayer Leverkusen if it comes off but why in the world are United letting him go when they don’t have a set backup for AWB? Tuanzebe can play there, but he’s not a right back. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

What The Football?? (Fosu-Mensah’s Transfer)

Fosu-Mensah could go for less then ₤2M so I’m taking wagers on how much they’ll pay to bring him back when he excels after leaving Old Trafford. I don’t understand why they keep looking to pay ₤20-40M for “ones for the future” but keep letting go of young players that have actually played for the first team...for peanuts. That’s some Chelsea logic right there: “Look! We got this up-and-coming star for ₤50M but let go of three for ₤10M combined; what great business we did! We don’t even know how this kid will play in our team, but what a steal!” Then they wonder why there’s no money to get transfers or reduce their debt.

2 million in to let go of a player they actually need right now and 45 million out to get players who probably won’t be regular fixtures (let alone starters) for another 1-2 years...huh? This is why clubs should play young players more often, because at least then they can bluff and say they’d hate to lose them (which clearly isn’t true), putting them in a position to ask for more money before agreeing to let them go. Manchester United, WTF? 🤦🏾‍♂️⚽
