The club is unhappy with a few comments about rivals but considering taking #11 back. This is a fringe player having more balls and understanding rivalries better than our entire starting XI!
They're quicker to make people aware that we don't condone comments on a rivalry than we are to condemn domestic abuse. Absolute state of this club!!!

Transfer sagas rumble on
It wouldn't be a transfer window if United weren't linked to everyone and their nan, but in what has been a sensible window rumour-wise (by our standards at least) we're now seeing the Old United come through.
Sofian Amrabat is the man who wants United and United fans want that man. He would bring order, composure, and dependability to the heart of midfield at a time when Casemiro is unfit, Bruno is naturally a 10, and Mount is adapting to the system.
There's also talk of a swap loan between Ryan Gravenberch and Scott McTominay with Bayern Munich - a surprise, but not an awful trade for either side based on needs/variety if we're honest. Just weird how we wouldn't accept £30m from West Ham for McTominay so we could just go and get Amrabat...
This problem of CM has fallen to the wayside though, with Left Back now the big issue. Vague muscle injuries to both Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw mean that United are down to Dalot and Fernandez (Williams out on loan) at LB. Not great. Loan rumours link us to Cucurella at Chelsea, Reguilon at Spurs, and Marcos Alonso at Barca, but even free agent Ryan Bertrand - age 34. Hmmmm.
Beyond this there are rumours of United taking on another (cheap) goalkeeper with Henderson now sold to Crystal Palace and maybe a CB (pending Maguire's sale) but all points raise the question: where are United's funds?
£164 million has been spent on Højlund, Onana and Mount, with a surprise free deal for Jonny Evans. That's a good sum for a window. The rumoured budget though was £120m but then that was quashed and a new figure of £160m was touted, with sale funds on top if we get them. Henderson sold for £20m, Fred for £8.36m, Kovar for £4.29m, Telles for £3.95m, £860k for Iqbal, and De Gea, Tuanzebe and Jones off the wage bill. £35 million ish made back there on fees alone, let alone wages saved.
Ultimately the club is professional enough to hide the true figures and plans behind the scenes, but given how swiftly we wrapped up our main three transfers it feels less comfortable at present knowing we need a CM, the ideal one wants us, he's cheap, and we're not just going and wrapping up the deal. Still plenty to overhaul at United, and it all stems back to the ownership.

Multi-Award Winning Songwriter-Producer, BRANDON WILLIAMS Releases 5-Track Project, "THE LOVER'S SUITE"….
released EP, "THE LOVER'S SUITE" from multi-award winning singer-songwriter, BRANDON WILLIAMS. The EP is globally available now, via the Keep It Moving Music (KIMM)/SRG JAZZ label imprint.
"THE LOVER'S SUITE," is a 5-track tastefully crafted sensual love-letter from us gentlemen to the ladies. It’s a symphony of desire, a collection of love stories, and an exploration of the most tender moments shared between two souls. It’s a sonic aphrodisiac and the perfect soundtrack for a late-night rendezvous. Let it guide you through the labyrinth of love.
Always on a mission to remind the masses that exceptional music exists in the current landscape, Brandon Williams intentionally crafted “The Lover’s Suite” as a 29 minute and 12 second aural experience. "To hear it in full, you must listen to the entire thing, but I decided to break each song out on its own and include an interlude so that people can choose what they want to experience moment to moment. I called in a cast of musical superheroes to assist on the journey," shares Williams.
The project includes appearances by Grammy-Nominated musicians, Robert Glasper and Taylor Eigsti, along with the exceptional talents of Brian McKnight Jr., Matt Cusson, Joe Poré, and Perry Hughes. "Brandon Williams is one of the greatest musical minds of this generation. While understanding and being well-aware of what’s current, he is influenced by the great history of music, and not just black music... all music! It was a true honor to be a part of this project, "says Robert Glasper.
One of the highlights of the EP is, "Everything & More" featuring Brian McKnight Jr. The beautiful ballad was written by Brandon Williams and Brian McKnight Jr. and produced by Brandon Williams. "Inspired by the thought of getting to make love to a woman for the first time after dating for a while. The longing to explore her more while she guides you through exactly what she likes. She’s the coach and you’re the player," says Brandon.
Another stand-out song on the project is the Brandon Williams produced and Matt Cusson penned track, "Gentle Breeze". "It was literally inspired by a woman saying, “I hope this breeze takes me somewhere.” It’s a love story of two people that met on a beach and fell in love despite speaking two different languages. The common and universal languages between them were music and love. This is a song about the love and longing for someone that you absolutely can’t live without," adds Brandon.
Musical pioneer Teddy Riley was among the first to hear the album after its completion and he offered these words. “This album is a masterpiece and Grammy Award Winning material. You’re a genius, bro. Where would you like me to sit in your sanctuary?”
"It was told to me years ago to create the art you want to see in the world... create what you feel is missing and with The Lover’s Suite, I’ve done just that." Brandon Williams

Crisis Mounts
We'll pretend this pun wasn't forced, and distract you with the news that Mason Mount is ruled out of first team action for 4-6 weeks with a hamstring injury.
According to the Telegraph (whom I won't link because the sporting coverage is fine but their news is not), Mount's substitution late on against Tottenham in the 2-0 defeat was due to picking up said injury.
The knock-on effect here is who steps in to replace him. Christian Eriksen seems obvious, but for all his genius - ala Juan Mata - he offers very little in tracking back, movement, pace, or physical presence. Scott McTominay on the other hand offers all that but no genius, but with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes alongside... do we need brains?
McTominay hasn't seen Premier League game time yet; a move thought to be protection ahead of the transfer deadline and a late move away from Old Trafford. This still might happen though, because reports now state Fiorentina are willing to take £21 million for Sofian Amrabat who would be more than ideal for United right now.
As we speak Brandon Williams has gone out on loan to Ipswich Town to reunite with Kieran McKenna. Ideally we'll also see Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay depart in the next few days too, and probably Facundo Pellistri on loan to Sheffield United, but it's entering Squeaky Bum time now - and not of the "Fergie might win the Treble or might win nothing" variety. United have in my opinion bought well this summer, but there's still just that little extra needed for squad depth, rotation, and versatility needed to get us into form. Amrabat offers that to us, in a way nobody we have currently does. Splash the cash, lower our asking on McSauce and Donny, and call it a day.
