Tiger's Eye Gemstone History, Meaning, Healing Properties, Benefits, and Uses
History is a term that reflects the evolution and cultural relevance of numerous gemstones, and as a jewelry enthusiast, it's essential for you to know the historical significance of the most cherished gemstone jewelry of the current trends, the tiger's eye. It is believed that thousands of years ago the tiger eye was highly admired by ancient societies especially by the Egyptians because they assumed that the stone possessed several protective and healing properties and they also created amulets to ward off any negative energy. Additionally, in spite of its use in ancient civilizations, the tiger’s eye has also been found in several historical cultures.

Bejewled furby resurfaces - June 2023
Hello everyone! I have been on a slight hiatus due to a myriad of personal reasons, I am back for a short post with some interesting news
a GENUINE Bejeweled furby has surfaced!
Foreword:
This bejeweled furby is in my opinion the only one to exist, as with much other furby information numbers of units produced is a shaky 25 year-old game of telephone. But having researched archived Tiger and FAO sites, it appears all promotional images are the same snowball furby (Notably with green eyes) and we haven’t really seen any different versions, For the information in this post I consulted several archived websites on archive.org along with the new listing
Background info:
The following description is transcribed from the original FAO Schwarz listing for the bejeweled furby.
“Created by designer Sidney Mobell. The world's most exciting tay is now the world's
most precious. bedecked with 156 gleaming and glittering genuine gemstones Lovable Furby comes adorned with a tiara necklace. and earrings crafted in platinum and 18k gold and containing 63 full cut diamonds (3.7 ctw) 44 rubies (4.5 ctw) blue sapphires (5 3 ctw) and emeralds (1.O ctw). AIl 3 pieces are removable So you can wear them too!
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the word class hasbro children's hospital–”
The listing + info
So here is the description of the listing, the starting bid is 1,200.
(ill add it in later once the auction ends)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now for those of you at home, you may be thinking... a $100,000 furby with an auction cap of $2,000. somthing must be fishy right?
but on paper... the bejweled furby isnt worth that much, and Ill explain.
For those of you who are not jewelers (I have only taken intro classes myself) this furby may appear to be absolutely studded in expensive gems… but in reality the true value is being obscured by the cwt, or Carat Total Weight, this value is in reference to the TOTAL cumulative weight of the gemstones. So for example, the 63 diamonds CWT is 3.7, so each diamond is only 0.06 ct. so in reality the QUALITY of the dimaonds used is very low, for comparison you can purchase 25 loose diamonds of the same color, carat and clarity for around $50
So after a very novice rough calculation the total value of all the metals and gemstones here dont seem to total over $800. This is why I think the piece was designed to be a symbolic representation to the person who donated the $100,000 to the hospital, rather than a truly $100,000 furby which is why the capped value of the auction is $2,000
Conclusion + opinions
I still think this is an absolute amazing piece of furby history, one that I admittedly was not to familiar with, but was aware of in my deep dives into the furby archived sites, I think that the resurfacing of this piece is a ode to the furby community, and the fact that we are STILL actively learning about undiscovered information relating to Furbys a quarter of a century later! This toy line was only produced for just under 3 years but has provided a trove of information that's out there just waiting to be discovered!
And with that, ciao
-Cray

Litha
Also known as Midsummer
Tumblr media
When is Litha?
It is celebrated on the summer solstice, which is the 20th of June in 2024. However, it can be celebrated between June 20th-24th, depending on when the solstice is or how it may have traditionally been celebrated.
What does Litha mean?
“Litha” is the celebration of the longest day and the shortest night of the year, welcoming the light, warmth, vitality, and power of the summer sun. The summer solstice offers the longest amount of daylight hours of any day in the calendar year.
Who does Litha celebrate?
Any gods and goddesses in relation to fertility, beauty, and the sun are worshipped, including Lugh, Celtic God of sun and light, Helios, Greek God of the sun, and Freya, Norse Goddess of summer, love, and fertility. Modern pagan practices include honoring the “Oat King” or the personification of summer, who is said to be at his peak strength around Midsummer.
—————
LITHA TRADITIONS
Work with stones that inspire creativity, abundance, and renewed strength, like citrine, sunstone, tiger’s eye, amber, and carnelian.
Utilize mood-boosting, aromatic herbs and flowers such as orange blossoms, sunflowers, ferns, thyme, sage, and St. John’s wart. These plants blossom beautifully in the summertime and symbolize vigor, love, and happiness. The herbs may ease stress, and reduce inflammation; St. John’s wart has been traditionally consumed for relieving symptoms of depression.
Eat an assortment of fruits, like early summer peaches, plums, cherries, and blackberries. These fruits are round like the sun, and are plump and plentiful, symbolizing the wish for abundance and fertility.
Decorate and dress yourself with bright, summery yellows, oranges, golds, and whites.
Incorporate animal imagery (e.g., figurines, photographs, drawings, et cetera) of eagles, sparrows, horses, and bulls, all magnificently free-spirited, powerful, and protective animals.
Tumblr media
LITHA ACTIVITIES
Cleanse your face and body. Fill a water basin and leave it under the summer moonlight, mixed with at least one of the seven herbs of St. John (fern, rose, fennel, lemon verbena, rosemary, mallow, gorse, or whatever is available to use). Use this holy water to cleanse yourself.
Write a letter to the fairies. It is said that the veil between the human world and the world of the fae remains thin at this time. Ask for a wish and add gemstones and plants as an offering, and hope that the fairies will grant your wish true.
Take a ritual bath. Add sea salt, sugar, citrus slices and/or essential oils for a calm, refreshing bath time.
Drink refreshing beverages. Lemonade of any flavor, like raspberry or lavender, is a great summer-inspired choice. A traditional Litha tea recipe includes brewed black tea, fresh raspberries, sugar, and mint leaves.
Light a bonfire. Assist the sun with its offerings of warmth and light and safely dance and sing around the fire.
Prepare a Queimada. There is a popular tradition from Galicia where participants would read an incantation whilst preparing the alcoholic "Galicia Fire Drink": made with aguardiente or orujo (or any brandy you can obtain), coffee beans, sugar, and lemon and orange peels. The drink is mixed and prepared in an earthenware pot or hollowed-out pumpkin, kind of like a cauldron.
Here is a link for more information on the Conxuro da Queimada, as well as the English translation for the incantation:
Make a Litha altar. Add an icon or figurine of your preferred Litha God/Goddess in the center of your altar, and surround it with white and yellow candles, abundance crystals, herbs and sunflowers, bird feathers, and gold-colored decorations.
Get creative with recipes! Carlota Santos, who is the author of Magicka, recommends a savory vegetable coca. Here is the recipe below!

How I See Mita | happy golden birthday, lolu! 20 years old on the 20th of May @lorcandidlucienwill
Animal 🦊 FOX
The phrase “cunning as a fox” came about for a reason. Nearly every culture regards the fox as stealthy, and smart. However, their intelligence is related to their comfort. As creatures, they become incredibly well-acclimated to their surroundings and can navigate with surprising speed. Immediately, Fox represents the elusive and mysterious adaptability to dwell in difficult environments, but never lose their playful edge.
Place 🌌 TOYAMA BAY, JAPAN
Toyama Bay, Japan is one of the few locations worldwide where you can see the inner workings of nature lit from below — instead of above. Most blue beaches are the result of bioluminescent algae, but in Toyama, the bright glow is caused by an active gathering of the Firefly Squid. The species glows at night, lighting the beaches, and attract visitors from near and far.
Flower 🐯💐 TIGER LILY
The Tiger Lily is a bright, eye catching addition to any flower garden. However, these striking blooms are more than just aesthetically pleasing. They also hold significant spiritual and symbolic meaning throughout history. In many ancient cultures, Tiger Lily flowers were considered sacred. The bright orange color of the petals is an embodiment of life energy and was thought to represent creativity and passion. Tiger Lily flowers were often used in rituals as an offering to invoke healing, protection, and good fortune.
Character 🪷 KATE SHARMA
Ah, Kathani Sharma — a quick-witted, bold, and stubborn heroine — who puzzles Anthony Bridgerton to his very end. Kate possesses a true essence of independence, which was rare for women of her time. Positioning herself as an outsider in the ton made it much easier for her to handle the sharp words of those who disagreed with her fiercely formed opinions. Underneath her sharp exterior is a deeply loyal sister, dedicated friend, and passionate woman. Her story is a journey of learning to respect her own needs and desires after a lifetime of putting others first.
Season 🍁 AUTUMN
The beauty of Autumn is in the change. Autumn’s fiery colors are embraced around the world; but they are not the only part of it which holds beauty. Autumn is the blender on a painter’s palette, taking all the best of both summer and winter, and merging their drastically different elements into warm and comforting creations. Apple Cider, anyone?
Hobby 🗺️ ADVENTURING
Adventure is the call to action, no matter where, no matter when. The hardiest of souls can find adventure within the great scope of nature or in the quiet lore of an old bookshop. Wherever they go, adventurers bring with them a sense of excitement for whatever lies ahead. Don’t let them get bored — they can cause trouble when not properly occupied.
Color 💃🏻 MAROON
“And I chose you
The one I was dancing with in New York
No shoes
Looked up at the sky and it was
So scarlet, it was maroon.”
MAROON — Taylor Swift
Gemstone 💎 AMBER
Amber frequently holds once living things, so the ancients believed that amber possessed the essence of life itself. Colored with the drops of the sun, there is little question as to why. Its warm beauty is still associated with positive energy, warmth, and connection.
Food 🥟 SAMOSAS
Samosas are a triangular shaped, South Asian pastry filled with spiced potatoes, meat, or fish. They can be served as an entree, appetizer, or snack. Their origin dates back to the Medieval Times, in the Middle East.

Great Emperors and Beyond; An Abridged History of the Golden Empire of Yi Ti
By Sun Ma, translated by Orlendr
-
Preface 1.2: The Great Empire of the Dawn
According to known histories, both those written down thousands of years before and those passed down from mouth to mouth, the Golden Empire of Yi Ti is in fact a descent to the Great Empire of the Dawn. Because of this assurance, this preface will simply be reiterating understood knowledge of the Empire. All this in order to refresh memories and education, and to introduce this topic to those who have not studied such beforehand.
The son of the Maiden-Made-of-Light and the Lion-of-the-Night, God-on-Earth reigned for 10,000 years. Then, his son the Pearl Emperor for 1,000 years, and next the Jade Emperor for 900, the Tourmaline Emperor for 800, the Onyx Emperor for 700, the Topaz Emperor for 600, and the Opal Emperor for 500 before succeeding his throne to his eldest, the Amethyst Empress.
In what was the 50th year of her short reign, the Blood Betrayal occurred and the Long Night began. The Bloodstone Emperor rose to power and for 45 years he terrorized his people with enslavement and dark arts. In 4AB he married a tiger woman, and during the year 22AB of his reign a black stone fell from the sky. In his final years as emperor he spent them performing nefarious acts and deeds in worship for the stone, founding the Church of Starry Wisdom. In 45AB a woman with a monkey tail named Yin Tar defeated the Bloodstone Emperor and brought his reign to a close, ending the Long Night in the process.
There is debate amongst scholars whether or not Yin Tar was a heroic commonborn woman tired of the reign of the Bloodstone Emperor or a Wu, a person blessed with the ability to control the governing Forces[1] and nature spirits. Many variations of stories involving Yin Tar range from her being a Wu from the Western provinces to her being a fusi’ang [Ifequevron] that traveled such a distance on the pleas and prayers of the masses during the Long Night. Others speak of her monkey tail and point to that as a sign of her being an animal spirit from the south.
Mentions of spirits would not be complete without discussing the malevolent tiger-woman from the west that the Bloodstone Emperor married. Some believe that both she and Yin Tar are one in the same, both fusi’ang but with differing goals. To begin the Long Night, and to end it. It was her marriage to the Bloodstone Emperor that caused the theme of cats bringing bad luck or being evil things in nature to occur. Though this is mostly associated with cat ghosts and spirits rather than living companions and pets.
In later years many a figurehead from both before and after the Long Night would be deified by the people of the emerging Golden Empire, making up what many know of as the thousands gods of Yi Ti. From the Gemstone Emperors and God-on-Earth to Yin Tar, to even the famous jitong[2] now immortal Old-Man-Under-the-Stars.
-
The Forces are something akin to natural divinity, they fall under the manifestation of celestial energy, or power. The natural Forces of the world are Fire, Water, Metal, Wood, and Earth. The Forces can also refer to governing celestial bodies, like that of the Sun or Moon.
A jitong is a person who acts as a conduit for spirits and gods to speak through them.
Chapter 1: Blood Betrayal and The Long Night
Leading up to the Long Night would be the cursed acts of the Blood Betrayal. The seventh divine emperor, the Opal Emperor was succeeded by his eldest, a daughter. She became the Amethyst Empress, and in her 50 years she had many children with many consort-husbands who traveled far and wide to spread word of the Great Empire. Unfortunately, her younger brother grew envious, unmarried and of ill-temperment meant that many considered associating with him would lower their reputation in the eyes of the Imperial Court. During what is now recognized as the year 1AB, the Empress and many in the imperial family’s retinue visited the sprawling city of Asshai. Fertile and massive, millions of citizens and laborers of the Empire lived in the port city.
On the local festive day—what is now commemorated as the first day of the sun-ruled Fireywrm phase of the Earth Month—to celebrate the Maiden-Made-of-Light in Asshai, the brother was overcome with jealousy and stabbed his red-steel sword through her chest, killing her. His sycophants from court appeared and began to sack any of his sister’s loyal guards and consorts. In the middle of this mass slaughter, the younger brother declared himself the Bloodstone Emperor of the Great Empire of the Dawn.
The Bloodstone Emperor’s killing of his sister horrified the Maiden-Made-of-Light, and being affronted by the death, she turned her back, and the Lion-of-the-Night wrought forth darkness upon the land. Unleashing fire and ash all over the land, many types of wyrms came up from the deep to crack the earth and boil the sea, and the once fertile Asshai became Asshai-by-the-Shadow, forever steeped in corruption and blood.
The Long Night had begun, and yet still, the Bloodstone Emperor ruled through it with an iron claw; even now more so in defiance of the Lion-of-the-Night’s rage. In the 4th year of his reign he married a tiger-woman, Daiye. Some scholars think of her to be a fusi’ang, or perhaps a malicious animal spirit that further deceived and ushered the Empire’s leftover citizens into despair. The Bloodstone Emperor never recognized any persons he took to bed as Imperial Consorts—only Daiye as his official wife and Empress. There are surging claims of necromancy practiced by the Emperor and his court, and these claims point to that of his supposed undead concubines. Any bedfellow that Daiye didn’t like mysteriously vanished, and reappeared some days later gaunt and dead-looking.
When the choking ash clouds filled with glass and glittering rocks cleared from the gray-dark sky after 20-or-so years, a blackened sun was seen. From it, a large oily rock fell with trailing flames of blue and green. The landscape of the Empire, still war torn and besieged by the natural and unnatural of the earth and divine fury, was set alight once more in the impact of the crater. In the months after the shimmering stone fell to the earth, the Church of Starry Wisdom was founded. Only 22 years into the Bloodstone Emperor’s reign, and the Bloodstone Emperor himself is said to have been the first High Priest of the Church, a position in which only they may see the hidden, preserved rock for the otherworldly truth it holds.
The main temple is now lost in what is now known as the Cunlan province’s jungles, but smaller sects appear closer to the Mountains of Morn and the Bleeding Sea. There are few rural villages that still participate in the festivals that pertain to the ceremonies of the Church, and those that do make use of cat spirits and boxed idols, alongside other more cannibalistic practices like eating the grave-fat and marrow of ancestors to strengthen the connection to spirits and the perceived Forces.
Tumblr media
The provinces of Yi Ti in the year 132AC; the variated dark brown spots are regions in which the festivals and rites of the Church of Starry Wisdom are still practiced.
During his reign, the Five Forts built by the legendary Pearl Emperor were left unmanned and open. Demons rose up from the wounds in the deep and took to the East. They claimed the Mountains of Morn and past the Five Forts, even conquering two of the five, being that of Mubian and Hongbidi.
A woman named Yin Tar defeated the Bloodstone Emperor and brought the Long Night to an end 45 years after the Blood Betrayal. There is no written work on how exactly the Bloodstone Emperor was killed, only that it was done and the Long Night over. But there are many regional tales spread by word of mouth on how Yin Tar did so. Each story differs depending on what exactly Yin Tar is thought to be, and how the cruel Emperor was slain.
During the years after, in what sparse detail was written down and discovered, primary sources state that eventually the demons were pushed back from the Five Forts and past even what is now known as Shrike Territory and the Grey Waste, perhaps even ending up residing in the Mossovy Forest. The wyrms fled underground and to the sea, now west from the Empire’s domain. The sun had finally emerged as normal, ridding itself of its smoky hue.
Citizens all over Yi Ti now honor this day in a week-long festival, a celebration of the end of a tyrant’s rule. It generally falls during the end of the year, in the last week of the Boar phase.

Jaie Swiftpaw, Tuishi Monk
(Artist's Rendition of Jaie by xHyperwolfx )
Important Stories:
Pandaren in the Big City: Newly arrived in Stormwind City, Jaie winds up in an awkward situation when the tab comes due at a tavern before a certain dwarf comes to her aid.
Enemies Off the Port Bow: While visiting Boralus after the end of the Blood War, Jaie is present when Zovaal's mawsworn come to abduct Jaina Proudmoore.
The Maw: After discovering where the hole in the skies above Northrend leads, Jaie and Mola'raum travel together to the Maw to discover the fate of the kidnapped leaders of the Alliance and Horde.
Race: Pandaren, Wandering Isle
Class: Monk, Brewmaster
Eye Color: Jade Green
Birthplace: The Wandering Isle
Residence: Stormwind City, Old Town District. Avalon House
Personal Rune: "Splendid Feast"
Abilities:
Martial Arts Training: Jaie is a monk, trained in both Ox Style (defensive) and Tiger Style (offensive) combat. She was taught by the monks of the Wandering Isle as a child following the death of her father, Shi-Won Swiftpaw, and was sent on a pilgrimage when the Alliance and Horde... 'arrived'... on the island, having honed her skills greatly since.
Chi-Sense: Being a monk, Jaie is sensitive to Chi (life energy.) She can sense it at a distance and uses this to great effect in combat (it is very difficult for most mortal races to sneak up on her.) Undead beings make her uncomfortable because of this due to their deathly aura (she thinks of this as 'anti-chi') and it does not allow her to sense things like elementals or demonic creatures (as their auras are not Chi based.) She can also enter a meditative trance to try to sense specific chi over a great distance, but is totally unable to fight in this state.
Xuen's Fangs: Not an ability per-se, but rather a potent beverage brewed by her teammate and friend, Zhan-min Irontummy. A form of alcoholic beverage imbued with elemental air, this drink will electrify Jaie's body, allowing her attacks to deal tremendous damage in the form of blasts of lighting for a short time, as well as making her move much faster. The catch is twofold: one, she can't risk drinking too much or she'll overload herself, which will hurt her as well. Two, she needs to actually HAVE some. Zhan-min makes it, but she can run out!
Cooking: Jaie is a talented cook having been taught the basics by her mother, Xinyi Swiftpaw, as a child on the Wandering Isle. She learns everything she can in her travels across Azeroth, seeking out others who can teach her as well as getting help from her allies in Avalon (she can usually count on Nelen giving her a new cookbook every Winter's Veil for example.) She does most of the cooking for Avalon, but enjoys doing so (and the others certainly aren't complaining.) For details of some of her favorite recipes, click here.
Jewelcrafter: Jaie took up jewelcrafting shortly after joining Avalon near the start of the War in Pandaria and showed a great aptitude for it. She helped craft the communication gemstones she and the rest of Avalon and Savage United use and is able to create other jewelry that helps her focus her chi in combat.
Tumblr media
History
Born on the Wandering Isle, Jaie grew up in a rare paradise of peace and serenty amid the constant warfare and chaos of Azeroth. Her life was idyllic compared to the fates of many in the Alliance and Horde, though it was not without tragedy. Her father, Shi-won, was a farmer on the isle and during one harvest a swarm of the rabbit-like virmen attacked the farmland, attempting to steal the harvest for themeselves. The farmers fought back as best they could, but they were not warriors of any sort and by the time monks could arrive to help with the defense several of them had been killed by the ravenous creatures, including Jaie's father.
Jaie's mother, Xinyi, did her best to console her daughter… but the pandaren was distraught at her father's demise and after three days she ran off to the training grounds on the Island herself to become a monk. Initially she wanted revenge on the virmen, but over time she learned that such motives were not worthy of their teachings. As the years went by the pain of her loss dulled as she focused on mastering the basics of martial arts and eventually she realized that she no longer knew why she wished to fight… thus her teachers suggested leaving the island on a pilgrimage to find a reason for her to use her fists.
Fortuitously for Jaie, this was when the Alliance and Horde arrived on the Wandering Isle… in a rather spectacular way.
When it came time to leave Jaie travelled to Stormwind with the Tuishi sect and a chance encounter in the Golden Keg tavern had her meeting Dareley Steelhammer, Shalandrae Deeproots, and Nelen Fullmoon of Avalon. She joined that day and has been with their team ever since.

Elaborate on these Avrigian trade routes??? You can’t just drop that on my dash and then leave it there (/lh)
-🎻 anon
so in my original notebook, my main focus was the usage and market value of gemstones and flowers. because the avrigian empire is so heavily based on the sun, it only made sense to me that the goods that they're known for exporting would be sun-based. so even though the empire doesn't have the best political relationship with the rest of the world (history that i have written down but not polished in quite some time), their exported goods are valued pretty highly in the moon kingdom and other mountainous regions.
i have a prototype world map somewhere on my laptop.. i'm posting on my phone right now, so bear with me.
there are two main continents on the east and west of this map. the avrigian empire is located in the northeast and owns land near the coast. (perhaps i'll make a small, independent coastal country?)
the avrigian empire exports:
- sun catchers that absorb the healing qualities of the sun and project back into the room they're hung in. they're primarily used for those that are bedridden in the autumn and winter months, when there's the least amount of sunlight. these sun catchers can also just be used for decoration; the healing is an added bonus for those who are unaware of that and just like the pretty crystals.
- tea leaves and other sundried goods. avrigian tea/herb farmers have the advantage as far as climate goes for tea and herb drying. but because this process isn't exclusive to the avrigian empire, avrigian herbs and teas are considered a delicacy.
- sunstones. there's a wide variety of precious gems that channel the energy of the sun aside from actual gemstones; carnelian, orange calcite, honey calcite, tiger's eye, citrine, clear quartz, etc. many suncatchers are actually made with these gems, but its also common to just purchase them for jewelry or even magic purposes.
the small island of rocia, where witches are trained to control their powers, is a huge buyer of avrigian sunstones. many witches were actually exiled from the capital due to their strict religious views. (and, uh.. salem witch trial-esque behaviors.) but those witches often don't blame the sun god, and want to remain connected via the stone somehow.
the trade routes actually go around the small, untouched territory known as bahmania. nothing goes through it out of respect for the spirits and those energy-rich materials... allegedly.

Blue Tiger Eye History, Meaning, Properties, Benefits & How To Use
The reason why the blue tiger eye stone is such a captivating stone is because it displays a beautiful optical effect, chatoyancy, because of which the stone resembles the eye of a hawk which has a focused and sharp gaze. In the blue tiger eye gemstone, chatoyancy is also called “hawk’s eye shimmer” or “hawk’s eye effect,” and it occurs as a result of the parallel arrangement of asbestos fibers within the stone. In a properly cut and polished cabochon of blue tiger eye, you will observe that these asbestos fibers reflect light in such a way that a beautiful bright band of light seems to move across the surface of the stone. This results in the stone having the appearance of a luminous eye, which is one of the main reasons why blue tiger eye jewelry is so popular in the market.
