REVIEW
Forevermore ~ A Romance Anthology
Ten wonderful romances with a wedding central to the story. The book begins with the matriarch, Naty Moore, reminiscing about her first visit to her husband’s vineyard that is now also the Hacienda Luz. It was marvelous returning to see how this loving extended family is doing and see which members of the family and some of their friends will find their happily ever after at the autumn wedding.
Each story provides a description of the story along with triggers and heat level. There are stories for everyone with many romance genres provided. I loved hearing how Natividad β€œNaty” and Robert met, married and ended up in Napa. This historical portion was a treat and I love Mia Hopkins writing. I ended up reading two stories featuring older women with younger men and the couples were perfect for one another. The Second chance for Gabriella β€œBri” and Cole was a delight as was good girl Viola and bad boy Toby’s stories. The fifth story was that of Rafa and Vida as they became engaged and then prepared for the big family event of their wedding. The other five stories are waiting for me and will be read but not by publication date and I do want to get this review posted.
Thank you to the authors for the ARC – This is my honest review.

πŸ”Ž YA Under the Radar Part 6 πŸ”
for a long time, I've been keeping (and eventually posting) lists of YA books I read that have received less attention than they deserve. it's been more than 12 months since I posted the last list in this series but I finally hit 50 the other day so here it is, the latest instalment of my YA Under the Radar series 😊
all of these books have less than 15,000 ratings on Goodreads, give or take, and were books that I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend. I've marked ones with queer rep with pride flag emojis and ones with disability rep with wheelchair symbols. be sure to check them out!

REVIEW
Pasko Na, My Love
A Holiday Romance Anthology
Β Stepping into Hacienda Luz, an elegant Napa hotel, and being able to attend not only the 100th birthday of amazing Lola Naty but the stories of six couples finding love during the holidays was a treat indeed. The Filipino culture was a character on its own and fun for me to learn a bit more about. This is a book that can be savored a story at a time making it last for a while or, if you find yourself with a day free and wish to step into the Hacienda Luz for the entire event, it can be devoured in a shorter time.
Β Drawn to this book by my love of Mia Hopkins writing, I read her story first and ILLICIT was just as complex and edgy as I was expecting. It told of the closeness felt by two teens as they met the first time and how what seemed so right went so very wrong. As they meet again for the first time in fourteen years, they are given an opportunity and a second chance that might make that earlier potential come to fruition…loved reading Eden and Nick’s story.
Β Second up was written by Maan Gabriel, MY ONLY LOVE. It is the story of two chefs with an issue from the past to overcome, if they can, and a huge event to cater. Ruby and Mason were classmates in culinary school, talented chefs in the making, doing well professionally…and yet…there is that thing in the past that really must be discussed before both can move on.
Β And, as this review should go up NOW and not wait till I finish the rest of the book, I have to say this is a book that has opened my eyes in more ways than one and that more than one author in this anthology will be on my read-again list in the future.
Β Thank you to Mia Hopkins for the ARC – this is my honest review.

Β Family, heart, and a Merry Christmas Happily Ever After. β€˜Twas the night before Christmas, and all β€˜round Hacienda Luz bustled in celebration of Natividad Luz Moore’s 100th birthday. A Filipino American woman of courage, strength, and heart, Lola Naty has touched the lives of many. Celebrities and politicians make merry, fine dresses and barong Tagalogs shimmer, and food and drink flow freely. And it’s all to honor family, tradition, and the very essence of that thing called love. While Filipino ballads fill the chilly Northern California air, hearts throb and passions ignite as six remarkable couples find love in all the rightβ€”or wrongβ€”places. From acclaimed and bestselling Filipino American authorsβ€”Elle Cruz, Maan Gabriel, Maida Malby, Mia Hopkins, Sarah Smith, and Tif Marceloβ€”comes Pasko Na, My Love, a holiday romance collection that is sure to warm your heart and uplift your Christmas spirit.

Book Review: The Holiday Switch by Tif Marcelo
Tumblr media
Genre: YA Fiction
Rating: 3/5
Book Review:
I personally feel like I can't read just general YA Fiction anymore. I don't know why, I just find them so immature and I don't connect with them much anymore.
That being said, I did think this book was cute and adorable. The romance was sweet, there was some good humor, and it did bring the Christmas cheer. Overall, it was a sweet story, but it just wasn't for me.

ARC Review: Know You by Heart | Tif Marcelo | Heart Resort #2
Tumblr media
Chris and Eden agreed to five-year contract marriage to pursue their dreams. They always stick to the rules, respect each other but love, they believe, has no space in their lives. One threat to Heart Resort's reputation led Chris and Eden to the retreat to protect it, a retreat that promises Happily Ever After when this retreat begins to reveal their suppressed feelings not only to them but to the entire world. The secret of their conventional marriage, relationship, and emotions are too near to being revealed, or maybe it is the end of their marriage.

Quick Review: The Holiday Switch by Tif Marcelo Rating: 4/5
"Trust that someone else will make up for the moments you miss."
A charming Christmas romance populated with Filipino-American characters and a few queer characters rather than the straight, white smorgasbord I'm used to finding in holiday romances. I did find Lila a bit full-on in places - super-organised, control everything characters are not my jam - but her romance with Teddy was sweet and I loved her family dynamic too. But the setting absolutely makes the book. Send me to Holly, New York, please!
