The Carnival Rescue

It was a bright, sunny day at the school carnival. Children were laughing, games were being played, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of cotton candy. Among the crowd were two mischievous boys, George Beard and Harold Hutchins. Known for their pranks and homemade comic books, they were enjoying the festivities when they noticed a commotion.

A young girl, known as Balloon Girl, had accidentally become entangled in a bunch of helium balloons. The balloons were lifting her off the ground, causing panic among the crowd. George and Harold knew they had to do something.

Meanwhile, Alan Tracy, the youngest member of the International Rescue team and the pilot of Thunderbird 3, was preparing for a mission2. He was seated in the lounge of Tracy Villa, ready to launch Thunderbird 33. As he pressed a concealed button, his seat lowered him to the Thunderbird 3 launch tube. Robotic arms attached his wrist-mounted holographic displays and chest plate to him. He personally put on his space suit, gloves, and sash while his seat was being rotated 180° so that he would exit the tube backwards.

Back at the carnival, Harold, using the Super Communi 600, managed to send a distress signal to the International Rescue team. The signal was received by John, who was monitoring the space monitor. The message was relayed to Alan just as he was about to launch Thunderbird 3. Without a moment’s hesitation, he changed his course and set his coordinates to the school carnival.

With Thunderbird 3 soaring through the sky, Alan made his way to the carnival. He skillfully maneuvered the spacecraft to hover above Balloon Girl, extending a rescue line to her. With the crowd cheering below, Balloon Girl grabbed the rescue line and was safely reeled into Thunderbird 3.

Once Balloon Girl was safe, Alan returned her to the carnival, where she was greeted with applause and cheers. George and Harold, relieved and grateful, thanked Alan for his timely rescue. As Alan launched Thunderbird 3 back into space, the boys waved him goodbye, their school carnival becoming an adventure they would never forget.

I love that practically all of our nicknames for them are canon, it makes them so familial on screen, you can just tell they grew up calling each other these. John says “Don’t call me Johnny” like he’s said it a million times before. Virgil questions “Virge” because maybe he hasn’t heard it since he was teenager. Just the detail the writers put in to make it seem like they aren’t just close in the present, but they always have been.

Had another thought about a thunderbirds/school of rock au.

Watching the show, I always noticed that Freddie (the drummer) always reminded me of Gordon and I thought that if I or someone else were to one day write this au, then summer would totally be Penelope.

I didn’t know TOS existed before fandom and when I discovered TAG was a thing back in 2016 I actually ignored for a probably a solid month...

I didn’t think it looked all that interesting, but I was bored one day, figured “hey, why not?” and clicked on an episode.

30 seconds into Ring of Fire Two rose out of the clouds and I was HOOKED. 

Fanfic came a few months after that and the rest is history XD
