The other day I decided to reread Through The Woods by Emily Carroll. I read this graphic novel last year, and I've been wanting to reread it ever since. It's a small collection of short ghotic horror stories, that feel a lot like fairy tales. I used this reread for the jumbo reading challenge, for the smart cover prompt. I love the illustrations of this book, and I feel like the more you look at the cover the more you see little details, like the smoke creating a wolf head, and so on. Since I have a fairly recent review I didn't want to make the exact same post, but I also wanted to post something about it to mark my reread. Here's the link to the review I wrote last year.

I immediately remembered the main character from the game “Through the Woods” when I saw this trend

i'm getting really into short story collections at the moment, i think my ADHD brain likes them because they require less focus, i can easily read one or two stories in a sitting, put it down when my brain starts to wander, and come back to it again later to read a few more. it's really improved how many books i can get through.

i've read all of these except for Vampires Never Get Old (and i'm only partway through Salt Slow but loving it so far), and would highly recommend any of these. Jackalope Wives probably has my favourite stories, but two of the ones in Rain Hare made me absolutely bawl my eyes out, so i guess they would be my top picks.

and if anyone has any recommendations of their own let me know! as you can probably tell from the list, i like horror, fantasy, historical fiction, and queer stuff.

Note: Hottest animated characters, part twelve. It was hard to find HD screenshots for a couple. Still watch mostly live-action, but trying to read more graphic novels. I never watched Vampire Knight, or finished the manga. Maybe after I catch up with BNHA...
