Before:
nearly RUST FREE frame from Florida. Surface rust that instantly sanded to bare metal
After one week of sanding, cleaner/degreaser, metal prep etching fluid, POR15 all non moving parts, and fluid filming all movable parts:
I forgot to take pics when it was on the lift because yeah you could see it way better

Five days of undercoating Threep the jeep and every part of my body hurts but by god she’s gonna last forever
#she’s in such good shape for her age#relatively high miles but like she’s still running like a top#and considering the condition of the rest of the vehicle an engine swap somewhere down the line is absolutely not unreasonable#NO RUST#buddy I’m in freaking Canada that’s unheard of#she was a single owner from Florida#I have the carfax every maintenance done meticulous upkeep#NO FREAKING RUST#and I’m gonna keep her that way#Threep the jeep#we will grow old together#POR15 the entire frame and underbody#fluid film on top of that#took out the rugs#metal prep then rust oleum then bedliner then another coat of black paint#she’s in perfect shape and I’m gonna keep her that way#my buddy has a lift but it only goes up like a meter at best#so it was definitely helpful however you’re still on your back the whole time#my aching muscles

lol whoops wondering why my foot occasionally twinged today (I was heavily hyper focused so the concept that pain of some sort was breaking through the hyper focus should have told me something) turns out I ripped open the huge cut in my toe that I got from accidentally kicking the saw the other day. Shoe entirely soaked with blood. Well. That happened.
#blood tw#tw blood#on the other hand I finished all my jeep tasks#I wasn’t planning on doing 2/3 of these projects this week#they were like spaced out over the next few months kind of thing#but my landlord offered me to pull Threep into his garage to do some soldering because he saw me out in the cold driveway#with an extension cord#so I was monopolizing on the time I had in the garage to blaze through a bunch of projects#I think i am experiencing some symptoms of blood loss#may also be symptoms of sleep loss#couldn’t really say deprevation because who is depriving me of it#but I’ve not been getting a Hellman of a lot

Things I’m looking forward to, to keep myself from dying:
Tomorrow my radio gets delivered so my car will have sound and I can play music loud enough to prevent thought
#I also enjoy working on the car#so looking forward to the tinkering and the mechanics and the electronics#next week my POR15 gets delivered and I get to paint the whole frame#my beautiful new girl (Threep the jeep) gets a solid undercoating#she’s gonna be with me 20-30 years if I last so long#I’m gonna maintain this jeep for as long as I can#she’s a beauty#zero rust on her frame#unheard of up here#I got her from Florida this week#she’s freaking gorgeous#can’t wait to wheel her

(Honestly more rust on the interior than the underside which is hilarious as a Canadian like how does that happen. Still not egregious)
Interior before:
I mean…before, it had carpet and seats. I forgot a truely “before” pic because I got excited. I hate carpet in jeep because hello it’s going. To be full of water. Soon. Today. The carpet was the first thing to go.
Wire wheel, sander, POR15’d the rust spots that didn’t buff to clean metal (about 12 square inches) after proper metal prep. Primer on the bed and removed the seat brackets and wire wheeled them clean (got so many of my fingers and mangled my thumb, wire wheel flew off the drill at one point, forgot safety glasses….OSHA is gonna come arrest me personally):
