I hear tell that making a dwarf hold a grudge is the biggest mistake one can make. How do your people determine which grudges need settling first, High King?
"The Severity of the Grudge and what it would take to right the wrong is what decides the necessity of actioning a Grudge. An Umgie shorts a dwarf his rightfully earned coin? well then we begin drafting trade sanctions and price increases, a greenskin horde that raids our lands? we muster the throngs and we smite them from our halls!"

Thorgrim Grudgebearer, High King of the Karaz Ankor: Insulting kinsfolk? That’s a grudgin’. Pay us, and we will forgive.
Cardin: I’m not giving you anything.
Thorgrim: *brandishing axe* Then you will pay in blood.
Cardin:
Cardin: aw shit
Tumblr media
Yang: who is he and why is he threatening us?
Jaune: that would be my...how was it again... Ah right, my third cousin's uncles father-in law twice removed.
Thorgrim Grudgebearer, high king of the Karaz Ankor: plus one, laddie.
Jaune: I always forget that

Fun Fact
The voice actor for Peppa Pig's dad (Richard Ridings) is also the same voice actor for Thorgrim Grudgebearer in Total War Warhammer

But back to the original question. Are there any of the major characters you like more than others? Karl Franz, Grimgor Ironhide, Thorgrim Grudgebearer, or even Malekith? There are certainly many to like. And some to like to hate.
Nagash, many of the named Vampires, Arkhan the Black.
Karl.... Does not wow me, his blurb in the Empire army book is half a page and doesn't say much. Karl got fleshed out by other books, but his main army book was like. "Hey, here is the Emperor... Wooo."

So I just got total warhammer 3 after playing modded tww2 and ofc I immediately ignore all the new shit and go straight to Thorgrim Grudgebearer Drowns the World in Righteous Artillery Fire.
And I gotta say, even with the bugs and the anti-player diplomacy bias (Franz wtf why are you breaking ur treaties with me I thought we were chill) my new favourite pastime is kicking the shit out of those pissbaby traitor chaos-loving pricks.
You have magic? Rune of wrath and ruin babey. Flying pig thing? I got a fucking helicopter. Beat that asshole.

listen having a favourite character is just embarrassing sometimes. yeah that’s my specialest little blorbo. yeah I’ve read every word of their stuff. yeah I think about them 24/7. yeah I project all my issues onto them and write fanfiction about them and have multiple playlists dedicated to them. And I’m here on your dash to once again tell you that I am still thinking about them bc I thought you needed to know that. you can just shoot me now.

I want to see the list of your muses here, but I'm stuck on mobile at the moment sadly. May I have some help with that?
Of Course you may!
For The Dwarves we have Thorgrim Grudgebearer, Ungrim Ironfist and Belegar Ironhammer
For Men of the Empire we have Balthasar Gelt and Karl Franz
For Brettonia we have King Louen Leoncour and Repanse De Lyonesse
For Elves we have Malekith, Tyrion and Imrik
For Undead we have Vlad (and Isabella) Von Carstein, Luthor Harkon and Settra the Imperishable
For Kislev we have Tzarina Katarin, Boris Ursus, Ivan Radinov (more of an OC thanks to such little info about him) and Mother Ostankaya
For Cathay we have Miao Ying, Zhao Ming and Yin-Yin (Again more OC as there is less information on her)
For Ogres we have the one and only Greasus Goldtooth (i may use some of Stratovarius' modded lords from total warhammer 3 later)

A handful of hours ago, you witnessed the midgame of a clash of titans as two powers clashed with all the might and cunning they could bring to bear. This is quite clearly the endgame, and all that remains is savagery. Corpses litter every room you pass and a disturbing amount have been fed upon as the Black Hunger levels its demands upon the survivors. It wouldn't be right to call this a battle; the few remaining pieces circle each other warily, desperately trying to conserve what strength remains while seeking an opening to whittle down their equally brutalized opponent. Or at least, that was what was happening before the dragon interrupted matters in the same way that an unexpected mortar barrage interrupts a nice game of chess. Now there are three factions in this mountain-sized game of cat and mice, and the cat is a lion and the mice won't stop trying to stab each other. With the sole exception of Qrech, it has been an astoundingly bad day to be a Skaven in Karak Eight Peaks.
with the amount of work Cython put in to clearing out the mountains of skaven, they deserve a gromril sword too tbh 🐉
Matters for another time, as you process the reports that have come in while you were away. The northern portion of the Karag Yar cordon reports that the Dragon showed up, looked at them quite sternly until they lowered their weapons, then carefully stepped over their fortifications and meandered back towards Zilfin. There's also reports from Rangers ranging further and further into Yar; it seems there's fewer and fewer Skaven remaining, and all they've seen alive are Eshin as they withdraw upwards into the topmost sections of the Karag. Clan Mors seems to be either wiped out in Yar, or so close to it as to make no difference. The Karak Drazh pin remains, the sole remaining Mors force continuing to hold against the constant push of greenskins. Karag Rhyn is free of trolls, Karag Mhonar free of anything, and Kvinn-Wyr has gone quiet as the few Trolls that have a problem with their new neighbours have been slain. [Word from the High King: 2.] A pleasing set of reports, and under normal circumstances you'd be delighted with the state of affairs you were about to turn over to Belegar, as the Karagril flagpole has signalled 'King sighted'; a reasonable conclusion to make, as the gyrocopter that took word to Karaz-a-Karak has already returned, having pushed his engine near to destruction in his attempts to return to the Karak before night fell. But the document in your hands turns all that pride to ash, as you had quickly checked with Princess Edda to confirm you did have the rights you thought you did and then broken the seal of the High King as the acting ruler of Karak Eight Peaks. The Khazalid it contains is brusque, and centres on a single point: 25,000 Dwarves. 500,000 greenskins. Die well, it closes, and bears the signature of High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer. Die well.
The Battle of the Caldera is won. but great challenges remain
"Twenty to one," Prince Kazrik says darkly, and all eyes turn to the wall, where a dagger driven with supernatural strength has pinned the High King's missive to the wall for all to see. "Eight, actually," Princess Edda says. "Twenty-five thousand Dwarves under arms of Eight Peaks. Ten thousand from Karak Azul. Six thousand Undumgi. Five thousand Fieldwardens. Four thousand mercenaries. That's fifty thousand in the field, against four hundred thousand Orcs." "Eight to one," Prince Kazrik says, more thoughtfully now. "Is that all?" King Kazador says with a snort. "If I'd realized, I wouldn't have bothered to be up this early." There's chuckles from some and smiles from others, and the mood of the room lightens. You look up and gesture, and the eastern end of the MAP falls away, bringing the Caldera and the Western Gate into closer focus, and a thought highlights everywhere the Eye of Gazul can reach a deep, glowing red.
silly Thorgrim, should have consulted his steward on the numbers :b
okay starting another Divided loyalties readthrough. going to post stray thoughts and comments here reacting to it.
Better clean the… whatever that was… off you, because it's time for the ceremony. Thankfully your normal grey robes count as formal dress, because otherwise you wouldn't have a thing to wear.
there are many benefits to being a wizard
