okay well days later and I’m still pissed about this. Just gonna like ramble rq under the read more… and then some more in the tags. It’s pretty long keep that in mind

Like I still can’t believe this happened.

Why did Hikaru even write this note? Instructions for the ritual? He didn’t take it with him so how useful could they be for the ritual?

A handy-dandy study guide for future reference? Well he spilt smth on it and it’s illegible so idk about y’all, but me personally, I would’ve just thrown that away and made a new copy. And it’s not as if Hikaru was expecting to die; he wouldn’t have known that he wouldn’t be able to do so later.

Did ‘hikaru’ put it here? He couldn’t have because he doesn’t even remember the ritual, so he wouldn’t know to hide it. (Unless he’s lying about that which… maybe? I still think he’d just throw it away if he was trying to hide it) And then why in his video games???

I know why Yoshiki finds it: because we need him to find out about the ritual, and ‘Hikaru’ can’t tell him, but it’s also like… idk Hikaru’s grandpa couldn’t have let something slip?

It’s not a plot hole. It’s not impossible for Hikaru to have done it for the fuck of it, but it’s just like so undeserved. Yoshiki didn’t earn any of this information; he was trying to play video games with ‘Hikaru’ and instead got a big clue from Hikaru who ig must hate Nashitetsu if he thought no one would ever find it here. I can’t even entertain the idea that he put it here for someone to find because it’s fucking ruined so it’s of no use to anyone. And if he did, why? because like I said- he didn’t think he was going to die. It was a total freak accident. And from his thoughts before his death, it seems like the ritual wasn’t going to be dangerous for him. Dying here comes as a total surprise to him

It just makes no goddamn sense. Like sorry. I can suspend my disbelief for everything that happens because of this note but the initial discovery just sucks. But ig if my biggest problem with the series is a stupid note Yoshiki finds with 2 words of useful information then it’s doing pretty well.

can I just say that the hichi-San note is easily the most bullshit thing in hgsn?

#Like if there’s smth that makes this make even the littlest bit of sense tell me immediately so it can stop bothering me #volume 3 is my Mandela effect. I’m not joking when I say I can barely remember anything that actually happened in it #but it’s just like- whenever I have some problem with the plot or anything; the start of the problem is in vol3 #And I don’t hate volume 3. That was me being hyperbolic #But the set up of the scene is ‘here’s a random philosophy assignment in high school cuz the teach sure does like that stuff’#And then they talk about something we settled in *chapter 2*#We’ve already had this discussion with the dragonfly and snow cones #and swampman is my favorite of these but like in context it’s just so damn redundant #like idk Yoshiki do you think they’re the same person? This is only CH13 and you’ve said multiple times they’re not /s #But sure let’s rehash the same conversation with a new coat of paint #Can’t we think about smth else? There are so many other philosophical debates we could be having and whether hikaru is ‘hikaru’ is not it #And also to have ‘hikaru’ be asleep during it? I thought the teach loved this stuff surely theyd want all the students to participate #Especially egregious since his opinion would *actually* be interesting #because it’s a group discussion so the others would force him to give reasons unlike Yoshiki who usually goes ‘oh okay…’#But instead — as if Yoshiki is caught in a time loop of non progression — he repeats the same 3 thoughts and the scene moves on #hikaru ga shinda natsu #the summer hikaru died #hgsn #hgsn spoilers #wah that was a lot #sorry for the rant #Just- had to get it out into the void but I didn’t want to put in the main tags for ppl who are just wanting to talk about the series lol #Also want to repeat that I like the swampman scene by itself. If this was the only time they did this; it’d be one of my favorites #but 3 times? Yoshiki please girl think about smth else. Think audience got it the first 2 times. They’re different.
