That is incredibly possible, actually. That's a possibility I never even considered. Perhaps once he was of age he left that life behind him. It would explain why he never seems to mention it. That and the fact that these subjects seem to be open ended in the case that it's built off of and explored in a future plot thread.

His experience in the orphanage also could have influenced his decision to adopt Trucy. To give her what he never got. He could have worried she'd turn out like him, alone and dependent on the company of others, because that kid never got the chance to comfortably grow into himself. Never mind how far he probably believes he strayed from his own morals by unknowingly presenting the forged page. Ouch.

Feeling a little angsty today. So here's a Jake angst for you.

You hear the front door open and close. Heavy slow footsteps make their way through the house. Slowly getting up from where you sat, you go to find him. You knew the band had a meeting today. From the way Jake didn't immediately come to tell you all about it, something had happened.

You found him in his music room. He was sitting by the picture window mindlessly strumming his acoustic. You walk over and run your hand across his shoulders and ask, "Do you want to talk about it?" He sighs heavily and takes your hand and brings it to his lips, placing a kiss. "It's time." He says, rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb. "What do you mean?" You ask, worried and confused. "It's time for Josh to get his chance at his dream." He says, tears filling his eyes and with a small sob choking him. The two of you knew this day would come but hadn't thought it would be so soon. So, you sigh and kneel in front of him and take both his hands. "Are you okay?" you ask. "I will be. Might take some time. But I'm not going to break the promise I made him and myself. He deserves this. Look how far he took me and my dream. How can I not do the same for him?"
