Noah watched as the familiar houses in their neighborhood passed by them, while sitting in the passenger seat. He looked into the rearview mirror and looked at Anya, the new mother glow in her face, it made her look more beautiful to him.
“How’s Keaton doing darling?”
“He’s sleeping and he looks so handsome. Just like his daddy.” Anya sighed.
“Nah, I think little Keaton is going to be more handsome than Noah.” Nicholas joked.
“Fuck you dude!” Noah laughed, lightly punching his shoulder.
Nicholas turned the corner into the familiar street, about a year into dating, Noah and Anya moved into their own home together. Noah couldn’t stand Anya living in her small micro studio apartment anymore. The neighborhood wasn’t the greatest, so when he dropped her off at her apartment, he made it a secret goal for himself to get her out of that neighborhood, but things happened that changed a few things. If you asked Noah what he expected to do after their tour was over 72 hours ago, becoming a dad and getting engaged was not anywhere in that list of expectations. Well the engagement was expected, but not for another two weeks. They pulled up on their house’s driveway, it was a one story house with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a pool in the backyard. Noah looked at his home and began remembering almost all the moments in time everything that led to this moment.
~ October 20, 2020 ~
“Jolly! Where are you?” Noah yelled.
He had just come home from the grocery store and was bringing in the groceries for the week. He knew that Folio, Nick, Bryan, and Matt were going to be at the beach just to get away from the house. COVID had taken almost a toll on everyone, no one wanted to be at their shared townhouse all crammed together, so everyone except Jolly, Noah, and Anya agreed to go to the beach. Noah walked through their house and found Jolly and Anya talking in the kitchen.
“Come on Jolly, it’ll be fun!”
“Busfrö, I don’t think Noah, would like the idea of us doing this together. ”
“That's the fun of it, he doesn’t have to know.”
“Alright karaste, it’s a date, but don’t say I didn’t warn you when Noah finds out and gets upset.”
“It’ll be fine, Noah won’t find out. It’ll be between you and me.”
The fuck! Noah thought. He felt his chest tighten, he didn’t realize that Jolly and Anya had gotten that close since she started working for them. Although both him and Anya had been friends since they met, even after the kiss they shared, it seemed that on Anya’s end, it had been a moment of passion and never spoke of it again. On his end, it was not just a moment of passion; he had truly fallen in love with Anya. Noah got to know more about Anya in those 3 months and fell more in love with her before COVID started. He learned things about her like how she was raised by a single mother, she had a 6 year old brother named William or Will for short, her mom married her stepdad when she was 15 and they moved to El Paso, TX about the same time, about a few months after her brother was born. She never mentioned her biological father, but he knew better than to ask, just like him and his non-existent relationship with his father, he figured out very quickly that talking about her father was a sore spot to her and was a topic that should never be brought up. He couldn’t help but feel this rising heat and anger at their conversation. Why was Jolly the one that she chose? He was always there for her.
Out of everyone, he would gladly claim that he knew Anya the most and knew what she had gone through trying times with COVID being crazy, everyone being forced to stay home and not allowed to travel. He knew that out of everyone, Anya went through the most. She wasn’t comfortable completely leaving her job with Home Depot for something very unpredictable as being a Assistant Tour Manager with Matt, so instead of completely leaving, she went for a 3 month leave of absence with her job, while she figured out being a Tour Manager with Matt. Just as she was getting the hang of everything, they got the call of this virus being spread and practically killing vulnerable people, so it was best to stay home. At the time Anya was still living in her small micro studio apartment, she couldn’t even go back to her old job with Home Depot, because everything was closed. She had to move out of her apartment and live with her aunt and her cousins in Culver City, the neighborhood was nicer, so Noah was at least grateful that she was living in a safer side of Los Angeles. He knew that her options were either to live with her aunt or go back to her parents house in El Paso. Noah knew that as much as Anya loved her parents and baby brother, she could not stand living in that city, he clearly remembered her words.
“I would rather jump off the Golden Gate bridge than ever return to that city again. If it’s not to visit my family, I never want to set foot in that city again.” She said it with such deep intensity that it almost frightened him.
He decided to make his presence known to both of them, but not make it obvious that he heard part of their conversation, he put in his airpods and walked into the kitchen with the groceries. Both Anya and Jolly were sitting at the kitchen table.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” He said casually. Making sure that his jealousy could not be detected.
“Nothing, Jolly was telling me something funny.” Anya said; he knew she was lying and again he couldn’t help but feel angry again. What was going on between them?
“You guys think you could help me with the groceries in the car?” He asked, choosing to remain calm and collected.
“I’ll help you.” Anya quickly said. She got up from the table and helped Noah with taking the bags he already got in his arms and putting it on the kitchen table.
“Jolly, do you think you put the groceries away?” She asked with a sweet voice.
“No problem Älskling.” Jolly said.
Again, that tight feeling in Noah’s chest and heat and anger engulfing him. He shouldn’t feel this way, Anya never made any mention of their kiss and it has been a whole year since. He should accept that Anya just wanted to remain friends and that's all their relationship will be, despite knowing full well he wanted more. Anya walked past him and again her intoxicating scent hit him directly in the face, her Lavender scent, all he wanted was to bury himself in her and just have her to himself. He noticed what she was wearing, her favorite black sundress with small floral prints and the front of the dress that was only tied in the front with a corset style lacing, giving her a lift to her breasts and a leg slit. The temperature was still very warm for Los Angeles in October, so the dress made sense to wear, but for Noah that dress torturing him inside and out, he felt himself harden at the way her hips swayed, the way her breast slightly moved up and down when she took a step. The back of her dress exposing her tattoo, a snake slithering up her spine, being entangled in the vines of carnation and snowdrop flowers. He stared at her for so long, that he didn’t realize he never moved to go with her to get the groceries.
“Noah?” Her voice broke him out of his trance. He looked up and looked directly in her eyes.
“Are you coming?”
“Yeah.”
They both walked out the house and went down the steps to go to the garage. He opened the trunk of the black Camaro, and grabbed half of the remaining grocery bags purposely choosing the heaviest ones, while she grabbed the other half that was definitely lighter.
“Did we get everything?” She asked.
“Yeah, we got everything.” He answered curtly. He walked past her, practically almost ignoring that she was standing right there. Anya noticed the change in his demeanor, normally he was very kind and loving towards her, but that abrupt change caught her off guard.
“Okayyyy? The fuck?” She whispered to herself.
She closed and locked the garage door. She followed up the slight hill of steps that led to the front door of the house. Before she could get to the top of the steps, she lost her footing and tripped, her knee scraping on the steps.
“Fuck!” She hissed in pain. Noah just opened the door and turned around to see that she was down and in pain. The bags she was carrying had spilled all over the porch. He quickly put down the bags he was carrying and rushed to her side. He pulled her up and looked to see her knee was bleeding and blood dripping down her leg.
“Jolly!” Noah yelled.
“Yeah!” he yelled back.
Jolly came out the front door and took notice of the situation.
“Shit! Is she okay?”
“I’m fine guys.” Anya said, trying to reassure both of them.
“You’re bleeding.” Noah said sharply. “ Come on, I’ll help you clean up. Jolly, you think you can help clean up?” Noah asked, hoping he said yes so he could be the one to help Anya instead of him.
“Yeah man, I got you. Go clean her up.” Jolly said.
“I’m fine, I’ll go clean myself up.” Anya clearly didn’t miss the way he spoke to her when she tried to reassure him that she was fine. She clearly didn’t care for his attitude either and would rather dress her own wound herself, than have him do it if he was going to have a bitchy attitude. Before she could even take one step, Noah lifted her up and carried her bridal style to the guest bathroom and placed her on the sink vanity. Noah looked in the cabinet underneath the sink and found the first aid kit. When he looked up, Anya’s smooth leg was directly in front of him, decorated with tattoos of California Orange Poppies, Texas Bluebonnets, and honeysuckles, the slit in her dress exposing her leg, almost to her hip and her soft skin calling for him to touch, to kiss, to caress, to hold while he buried his face in between her legs.
Noah shook his head to break his trance and his hair fell in front of his face covering his view. Due to the amount of long haired men in the house, it was no surprise that there was an abundance of hair ties in the house.
“Pass me a hair tie, please?” He said.
“Yeah.” Anya said, she reached on the right side of the sink and handed him the hair tie.
“Thank you.” He put the first aid kit on the vanity and took the hair tie and tied his hair up into a low messy bun. He grabbed the first aid kit and opened it, grabbing the antiseptic wipes, a band aid and some gauze. He opened the antiseptic wipe and looked at Anya.
“This is gonna sting, so I’m apologizing in advance.”
Anya nodded and Noah placed the wipe on her knee. Anya gasped.
“Puta Madre!” Anya gasped and out of reflex, grasped his shoulder. If it wasn’t for her wounded knee and where they were at the moment, it would’ve been a very sensual moment. Her gasps would’ve been out of something different.
“Sorry.” Noah said.
He wiped away the blood from her legs with the gauze, his hands lightly caressing her legs. He dumped the used gauze pads in the trash and began to focus on her knee, wiping away the blood, dirt, and grime. With Noah touching her leg, Anya couldn’t help but notice how rough yet soft his hands felt on her. She wanted him so badly and she knew he wanted her just the same, but she didn’t want to risk it. With this job still being new and with everything going on in the world making things very uncertain, Anya still had her job with Home Depot, but again anything could happen. Right now she wanted to keep it professional with Noah, so that in case things didn’t work out she could go back to her old life and walk away from theirs, she didn’t want to mention her kiss with Noah, not wanting to put anything in jeopardy.
“Alright, almost done.” Noah said softly.
“Thank you.”
He lightly dabbed some neosporin ointment on her knee, and placed a band aid on her knee. He caressed her leg again, in an effort to keep her touch close to him.
“Thank you Noah.”
“It’s nothing.”
She lighty jumped off the vanity and winced when she realized her knee was going to be sore for a couple of days. Noah closed the first aid kit and put it away back underneath the sink. He was beginning to walk away until Anya called out his name.
“Noah?”
“Yeah?”
“My Tia Yolanda is throwing a celebration for my cousin Stephanie who’s graduating from UCLA next week and I was wondering if you wanted to come to the park celebration as my plus one? If you’re not busy?” She asked.
Noah was surprised at her request, he assumed something like that, she would want to take Jolly instead.
“You don’t want to take Jolly?” He asked before he could stop himself.
“Noah, no offense to Jolly and all, but why would I take him?”
“I heard that! And ouch!” They heard Jolly yell from the kitchen.
“¡Callate Cabron!” Anya yelled back.
Noah let out a chuckle and smiled at Anya and she felt herself internally melt.
“Well, since you’re asking nicely darling. I’ll go.”
Anya smiled, happy that he was calling her darling again, she’ll ask him later why he asked if she wanted to take Jolly and not him. She went up to him and hugged him, Noah wrapped his arms around her back and inhaled that Lavender scent that he loved so much.
“Well, I have to head out. I have to go in tomorrow at 5am at Home Depot.”
“Do you want me to take you back to your aunt’s place?” He asked
“Only if you’re okay with it.”
“Darling, I got you, anyways I gotta make sure you don’t fall down the steps this time.”
Anya giggled, how could something so simple make Noah melt.
“Go fuck yourself.” She said laughing with no malice behind her words.
How about I fuck you in my bed darling? Noah thought. He would never say it out loud, but Noah thought about all the times he had woken up with a hard cock in the morning, because he dreamed of how much he wanted Anya in his bed, in his arms, his hard cock inside of her. How much he practically wanted to fuck her to kingdom come, practically waking up with his cock so hard that he immediately had to take a cold shower in the mornings, fucking his hand and cumming in his hands, dreaming that it was Anya’s pussy he was cumming into instead. Other nights, he dreamed of how he would be married to her, they were having a happy idyllic life and with a baby boy running around their home and he wished he could dream longer and find out more about themselves in this life, but it never happened because he either woke up too early or too late to find out more.
They walked out the front door and made the drive to her aunt's house in a comfortable silence. The traffic made it a little bit longer, but neither of them were surprised, for Anya it was either be in the bus and take longer or be with Noah in his car and take less time, but be with him.
“I want to thank you for helping me earlier Noah, I know you didn’t have to, but thank you regardless.” Anya said.
“It was nothing, I hated seeing you there bleeding and I wasn’t about to let that continue.”
“Noah, it was just a scraped knee, it would've been fine.”
“Not to me it wasn’t, what if it got infected.” Noah said, his voice getting higher.
“Ok, fine I’ll give you this one. I guess after working with a bunch of guys, I’m still not used to accepting help from others.” Anya said, especially when said other person was having a bitchy attitude earlier. She kept that thought to herself .
“It’s alright darling.”
They turned a corner to get off the freeway and turned onto Venice before turning onto Overland. They reached her aunt’s apartment and turned onto the driveway, they stayed together in the car, sitting in a comfortable silence, Anya didn’t want to leave his car and in fact wanted to stay with him, but decided against it, anyways aside from both her jobs, she was planning a surprise birthday party with Jolly for Noah, she knew that Noah didn’t necessarily care for his own birthday, but it was the first time she spent a birthday with him, last year they were on tour and didn’t know each other that much yet. So with much persuasion to Jolly, she was planning a small party with everyone at the house, Jolly immediately warned her that Noah doesn’t like surprises, but Anya decided that’s something he should get used to, especially from her. Anya opened the door and before she left the car, she turned to face Noah and gave him a kiss on his cheek. That act alone surprised him, he turned to look at her and gave her a shocked look, almost as if he was a deer caught in headlights.
“Thank you for earlier Noah, this is why you’re my favorite out of everyone. I’ll see you next week.” She said, giving him a smile. She closed the door, walked up to the building's entrance and went inside, but not before turning around blowing a kiss to him.
“God fucking dammit. Even when I want to be mad at her, she makes it impossible.” Noah said to himself.
He drove off now thinking about what Jolly and Anya were doing together, because if she was comfortable with giving him a kiss on his cheek, then clearly Jolly and her weren’t dating. Right? He was going to find out.
~ A week later; October 27th, 2020 ~
The weather had become colder throughout the week and everyone adjusted, for Noah the weather would’ve been perfect if his anxiety wasn’t going through the roof. Noah still hadn’t found out what Jolly and Anya were doing together because everytime he tried to, he would wake to find that Jolly had already left for the day and by the time he came back, he came back empty handed. He tried asking, but the response was just ‘I’m running errands with Anya.’, it irked him to no end. On top of that, today was what Anya liked to call it ‘Carne Asada’ day at her aunt Yolanda’s house in Santa Monica. He was meeting her relatives, he didn’t want to dress too casual, but not too formal either. He decided that he was wearing his black turtleneck shirt with black jeans and a leather jacket, choosing to wear docs. He went downstairs to find that Anya had already arrived at their town house, her outfit similar to his, except her jeans were ripped at the knees and she was wearing chucks not docs. Her choice in clothing made him feel a little more at ease with himself.
“Ok, at least I know that it’s going to be casual.” He said, letting out a small chuckle.
“Yeah, personally I never know what to wear to these things, so I just wear what makes me comfortable and at this point my family is used to it.” she said.
“Come on, can't keep them waiting.” Noah said
They went and sat inside the car and just as Noah was about to start the car, he was stopped when Anya put her hand on his.
“Ok first things first, I gotta tell you a few rules.” She said.
Noah's heart began to race.
“When we get there, you gotta say hello to everyone and when I say everyone, I mean everyone. Otherwise in my family you’ll be known as the malcriado.”
“A what?”
“A malcriado, it’s basically what you call a rude person who never learned any manners.”
“Ah okay, anything else?”
“When it comes to food, other families may say you must eat everything that’s given to you, even if you’re already full. My family however, as long as you just eat a plate, you’ll be fine.”
“Alright, well I’m about to learn how you cook so amazing.” He joked
She slightly narrowed her eyes at him.
“Noah, I’m being serious.”
“I am too, you’re the reason I began to gain weight.”
Anya knew that he wasn’t lying on that front, when she started working for the band, most of the guys were skinny twigs, so Anya started to cook for them in that small kitchen on the tour bus while on that 3 month tour. While they enjoyed and appreciated her cooking, Noah again was the one who always asked for seconds, sometimes even thirds. The guys always thought that he liked her too much and didn’t want to be rude. In truth Noah actually loved her cooking, it was during the lockdown that he realized that if he was going to stay home and eat nothing but homemade food, that it had to be made from Anya’s hands. Whatever she made, he would personally buy the ingredients, so it was no surprise to him that he began to gain weight, he realized the saying was true, ‘The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.’
“I’m sorry for that.”
“Darling, how many times are you going to apologize, anyways whatever weight I gain, I turn it into muscle.”
They both knew he wasn’t lying either, he began to bulk up even more when he joined Ash’s gym. His muscle’s began to be more defined over the past few months, something that didn’t go unnoticed by Anya. Just as he would freeze every time she walked by, her hips swaying in whatever she wore, she would freeze even he walked by too, him wearing shirts that exposed his arms and the muscle that he began to acquire, she’ll never say it out loud, but she wanted nothing more than to sit on his cock and ride him to kingdom come, riding him until he would just cum inside of her. How much she loved when he called her darling.
“Alright then.”
“Now is there anything else I need to know before we start heading over there.”
“Not that I can think of.”
“Alright then, let's head out there. Here’s my phone, set the address over to the location.”
Anya took his phone and set up the location to Clover Park in Santa Monica. She would be lying if she said she wasn’t lying about being nervous, this would be the first time her family and Noah would be meeting. They weren’t surprised by his looks, they all knew she had a type and they immediately told her that as long as he made feel happy and safe, then that’s all that mattered to them. It was a 30 minute drive from Studio City to Santa Monica and through the time they kept themselves busy by singing along to the song playing on the radio. Some country, rap and latin pop for Anya, she never believed him, but Noah would always say that she had a good voice, he made another goal for himself to take her into the studio and have her sing and record just one song for him so that she could hear what he heard.
They reached the park and Anya's hands began to tremble, her anxiety going through the roof. Noah took notice and held her hands, his touch soothing her.
“You ready?” Anya asked.
“Yeah, I’m ready for anything darling as long as I’m with you.”
Anya sighed and smiled at him. They left his car and began to walk a small distance to the tables that were for the carne asada.
“Mija! You made it!” She immediately heard her Aunt Yolanda yell out. She let go of Noah’s hand and went to hug her aunt. She was setting up the table
“Hola Tía, ¿cómo estás?
“Bien Mija, thank you for coming. Now is this the very famous Noah?”
Noah stepped forward to introduce himself and raised his hand to shake her Aunt’s hand, but she surprised him by pulling him in for a hug.
“Mijo, there’s no need for formalities here. We’re all family here.”
“Thank you ma'am.”
“Call me Tia, mijo.”
Noah couldn’t help but be flattered at the thought of being considered family, even if he wasn’t dating Anya, even though he really wanted to be.
“Alright ninos, help yourself to some snacks, your Tio Isaac is making the meat, so it’ll be another twenty minutes before the food is ready, go say hi.”
Anya grabbed Noah’s hand and led him to the grill where her uncle, a short man with a slight beer belly, tanned skin, mullet and sporting a mustache, stood next to grill watching the meat cook.
“Hola Tio!”
He turned around and gave the biggest smile.
“Mija, you made it. Thank you for coming!”
“It's nothing Tío. Dónde está Stephanie?”
“She’s playing baseball down the hill. Toma.” He said while passing her a piece of meat to her and Noah.
“Is this the Noah we keep hearing about?”
Noah was now smiling realizing that Anya mentioned him multiple times to her family.
“Si, estes Noah.”
“Hello sir.” Noah said.
“Hola mijo, welcome. Here, try another piece.” Her uncle said, pulling him in for a hug and patting him on the back before passing him another piece of what was al pastor meat. Noah took the piece and ate it, I could get used to this. He thought. He felt so welcome by just two people already and was beginning to wonder what it would be when others began to arrive. Anya took his hand again and led him down the hill, to the baseball field where her cousin was playing with a little girl.
“Lucy! Bebe Linda!”
“Tia Ana!” The little girl, no more than 3 years old, yelled out. Her hair in two very messy space buns came running towards Anya, she let go of his hand to catch her, raise her up, and spin her around. Noah’s heart warmed up at the sight, and he couldn’t help but think about his dream with their baby boy running around with Anya chasing after their son.
“Hola, mi bebe linda? Watcha doing?” Anya said in a sing-songy voice.
“Um um playing baseball with mama.”
“I think I’m the one playing more baseball though.” Stephanie came up, stuck out her hand and shook Noah’s hand. “Nice to meet you. I'm Stephanie, Ana doesn’t doesn’t shut up about you.”
Noah turned to look at Anya and she blushed a bright red. Little Lucy playing with her hair.
“I’m Noah. Wait Ana? I thought your name was Anya?” He asked
“Oh my god. She’s still going by that name?” Stephanie chuckled.
“What name? Anya?” Noah asked.
“Ok.” Anya sighed. “I hate saying my full name like, because it’s mouth full and if you call me by my full name, I feel like I’m in trouble. Also I really love the movie Anastasia, so I just took that nickname.”
Noah laughed.
“Alright Anastasia.” He laughed.
“Shut up. Don’t call me that.” Anya deadpanned.
Anya frowned and walked off with Lucy in her arms and took her to the swing set to play with her. Stephanie and Noah went to a bench and sat down.
“Can I say thank you?” Stephanie said.
“For what?” Noah asked, confused.
“For bringing my cousin’s smile back, we grew up together. She told you that right?”
“She mentioned that she grew up with a bunch of cousins.”
“Makes sense, she likes to be very private on certain things. I haven’t seen my cousin smile like this since she left for Texas when she was 11 and I was 13.”
“What do you mean? I know she doesn’t likeTexas, but I didn’t think she hated it.”
“Oh God, I don’t know where to begin, we constantly video chatted when she first left, it was okay at first, but little by little. Her smile began to disappear, little by little, our calls with each other began to stop, her being out there alone with no one, but her mom took a toll on her.”
Noah’s heart went to his throat at the thought of how alone Anya must’ve been when she was younger.
“She loves her mom, but I’m not going to lie, my aunt is a very strict woman, with high expectations, from her grades, her clothes, her interests, everything had to be approved by her mom. I think it became worse when her brother was born.”
“What? Like abuse?” Noah asked, terrified of hearing that answer.
“Not physically.” Stephanie said. “I will say this right now, she loves and adores her brother, she would gladly die for him, but I feel like she also resents him a little.”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s not surprising that many cultures prefer boys over girls, Latino culture included. Ana already felt enormous pressure from her mom, but when her brother came along, all of a sudden, it went from having to be good at everything to now having to do that and having to take care of a baby that is not hers.”
“What about her stepdad? Why didn’t he step in?”
“He works here in Los Angeles and goes back to El Paso twice a weekend every month, so..”
“So it was still just her and her mom.”
“I think I remember during a videochat I had with her when she was 16, I remember my aunt saying over the call ‘Here’s your son, go change his diaper, because I can’t be bothered’, I think it was one of those times I saw her look so defeated. ”
“What made her finally move back?”
“Fafsa.”
“Fafsa?”
“Mhmm, she was applying for out of state colleges just to get away and finally be away from everything, when she got a letter saying that Fafsa wasn’t going to be paying for her classes because her mom made too much money. That alone made her really spiral.”
“She didn’t do anything stupid, did she?” Noah asked, concerned at the thought of Anya doing something reckless. Even if it was before he met her.
“That part is not my story to tell, just only saying what I know from what I've seen. That’s something I think she has to tell you.”
Noah looked at her, confused why Anya’s cousin Stephanie would tell him these things. Sensing his confusion, she spoke up again.
“I only said all of that because I wanted to say thank you, you're the reason my cousin now smiles on the daily. I’m glad she’s dating someone like you.”
“Oh we’re not..” Noah began to say.
“You’re joking right?” She asked incredulously. “I thought you were, she constantly talks about you, I mean she practically never shuts up about you. It’s always ‘Noah this’ and Noah that.”
“I didn’t think she talked about me like that. Let alone like me like that” Noah said. Fully realizing now that Anya doesn’t like Jolly like that.
“Dude, she’s crazy about you! I don’t underst … ohhhhh.”
“What?”
“I know why.”
“What? What do I need to do?” Noah asked, desperate for any advice on having Anya finally to himself.
“Right now, everything is unpredictable right? So I can see why she’s being hesitant.”
“Why does the pandemic matter? It shouldn’t matter to us.”
“Because she’s testing the waters, if she doesn’t know what can happen, she won’t take the risk.”
“So she sees dating me as a risk?”
“Yes and No, Ana doesn’t see dating you as a risk, she sees the situation as a risk, she told me how she has this current with you guys, but the pandemic and lockdown is keeping you guys from fully touring right?”
“Yeah.”
“She doesn’t want to fully commit just yet, because she thinks it can probably fall through and if it falls through then she can just walk away from the job and from you guys.”
At those words, Noah finally understood, but he couldn’t help but wonder why Anya would believe she could just walk away from their lives, especially his. She’s so engraved in his mind, that he could not and would not let her walk away from his life.
“I know her, so you need to show her you’re in this with her as much as she wants to be.” Stephanie said, looking towards Anya.
Noah looked at her, watching her play with her niece and fully committed to the decision that no matter what happened in life, as long as he had her by his side, he could handle it. Negative or Positive, all he wanted was just her by his side.
“Ninos! Come eat!”
Noah and Stephanie stood up from the bench they were sitting on.
“Ana! Lucy linda! Dinner time!”
Anya picked up Lucy from the swing set and carried her to the picnic table.
“Was anyone else planning on coming?” Anya asked.
“Not really, which is understandable. The only people I really wanted here were my parents, mi hija and my favorite cousin.”
“What about Lucy’s dad?”
“He wished he could've come, but his job called him back early. He did send a ramo buchon this morning, along with a diamond tennis bracelet. Lucy immediately took the tiara that came from the buchon.”
“Damn.”
“What’s a ramo buchon?” Noah asked
“Think of a rose bouquet, but bigger and a little more extravagant.” Anya explained. Her uncle gave her a plate of food.
Stephanie pulled out her phone and showed Noah a photo.
“Goddamn! Shi–” He was ready to curse, until he remembered that Lucy was present.
“Alrighty. So what did you guys talk about? Don’t think I didn’t notice.” Anya asked, giving a suspicious look to her cousin.
“Nothing.” Noah said, sitting down at the table.
“Oh God, don’t tell me she was telling you my embarrassing childhood stories.” Anya groaned., sitting next to Noah.
“Hey, you killed my family of pet goldfish.”
“It was an accident!” Anya said, putting Lucy in the booster seat so she could reach the table.
“Wait what? You killed her fishes?” Noah asked, but ready to laugh at the same time.
“If you go to her parents house, you’ll find evidence of a soccer ball being kicked to the wall multiple times.” Anya said sheepishly.
“What happened?” Noah asked, a plate of food being set down in front of him. The plate consisted of rice, refried beans, 3 al pastor tacos, and extra arrachera meat on the side.
“Uhhhhh.”
“Go on Anya, tell him.” Stephanie said teasingly, sitting next to Lucy.
“I may have kicked the ball too hard one day in the house, it bounced from the wall to the tank. Breaking it and the poor fish falling to the floor.”
Noah began to laugh, putting his hand on her knee. His touch still feeling very electrical to Anya.
“But if I recall correctly. You cut my hair in my sleep after that.”
Noah began to laugh
“Ohhhhh … yeah. Listen carefully mija, revenge is very bad, so never do it.” Stephanie said to Lucy. Lucy nodded after she took a bite from her smaller portion of food, but you couldn’t be certain if she was nodding because of the food or because of what her mom said.
“Speak for yourself, I started 3rd grade with a buzzcut and by the time 3rd grade was over I had the Dora the Explorer haircut.”
Noah laughed even harder at the situation. If this was just a small portion of what being around her relatives is like, then he wondered what it would be like being around the rest of her relatives.
The day passed and eventually Anya and Noah left the picnic, helping clean and pack the remaining food, her aunt and uncle insisted they take some leftovers back with them. They ended up taking back with them 10 tupperwares worth of food. They got back to the house and the rest of the guys quickly dug into the food.
“Good God, now we know where you get your cooking skills.” Bryan said immediately, stuffing his face with a piece of arrachera meat.
“Nah, for real. Next time you fucks better invite me so I enjoy this when it’s fresh off the grill.” Matt said
“Whatever anyone does, make sure Anya never quits working for us, because I plan on eating this food for the rest of my life! Damn! Nick and Folio are missing out!” Jolly said.
“Oh I’ll make sure to plan on her never leaving us.” Noah said, wrapping his arm around Anya’s shoulder.
“I agree with Jolly, she’s the greatest assistant I’ve ever had and if anyone fucking ruins what we have. I. WILL. FUCKING. KILL. YOU. ALL.” Matt threatened everyone.
The guys began to continue enjoying the rest of the food. Noah grabbed Anya’s leaned closer and whispered in her ear.
“Come with me to my room?” He asked nervously.
Anya didn’t say anything, but nodded at his request. He led up the stairs and down the hall to his room. She entered his room and he followed after and locked the door. He moved in front of her and sat on his bed. The only light in the room coming from the led lights on his bed.
“God, you’re so beautiful.” He said with an exhale.
“Don’t say things you don’t mean, Noah.”
“Darling, I’ve told this over and over and yet you still never believe me.” He said, putting his hands on her hips and pulled her closer to him. Putting her between his legs.
“I’m not used to hearing things like that, Noah. I wasn’t the most beautiful growing up, I’ve only had one boyfriend and even then he still cheated.”
“Hmmm.”
He raised his hands and pulled off the leather jacket that Anya was wearing, leaving her in her turtleneck shirt and jeans, her shoes left by the front door, since the boys don’t like wearing shoes in the house.
“Do you want to know what me and your cousin were talking about earlier today?”
Anya tensed a little.
“Oh God. What did she say?”
“Nothing bad. Just a little more about you, things I already know. Finally I realized something important. Why did you never tell me how lonely your childhood was?”
She began to take a step back when Noah stopped her by standing up and wrapping an arm around her waist, bringing her back close to him.
“Noah, you left home at 15 years old, going from couch to couch in friends homes. If anything, you had a worse life than me.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
“Why does it matter how lonely my childhood was?”
“Because, I want to know you, Anya. Everything about you. I want to know why you think working for us will fall through and why you think you can walk away from us. From me”
That last was said so quietly, that she almost missed it.
“Everything is scary right now Noah, people are still dying from this disease. I barely got back to work at Home Depot. Can you really blame me?”
“I promise that you won’t lose this job. You’ll always have a job with us Anya. If not then I’ll take care of you.”
“I can’t ask that of you.”
“You’re not asking, I’m telling you, I’m promising this to you Anya.”
“Noah…”
Noah stopped her by leaning forward, putting his face to her neck and inhaled her scent.
“Lavender.” He whispered.
“What?”
“Your scent, it drives me wild, from the moment we met in that meet and greet, your lavender scent has driven me crazy.”
Anya gripped the sides of his shirt, her breathing getting heavier.
“You drive me crazy Anya. I wanted you from the moment we met, but I fell in love when you cried in my arms the night we met and it’s only gotten stronger since. I can’t let you walk away, not without at least knowing how I feel.” He said.
“I don’t want to walk away anymore.” Anya whispered.
Anya looked at him in the eyes, his eyes showing so much affection, adoration, and love. Something she only saw when her stepdad looked at her mom, she thought back and realized all those moments Noah would stare at her from time to time, his gazing a little too long and a little too hard.
“I’ve always wanted you to be near me, with me, in me Noah.” Anya confessed.
At her words Anya felt him harden through his jeans.
“Fuck!” He whispered. “Do you know how badly I’ve always wanted you? How many times I’ve cummed thinking of you?”
Anya lifted his shirt and pulled it off. She kissed his chest, Noah unbuttoned her jeans and pulled them down, leaving a couple of kisses down her legs, something he desperately wanted to do the week before. Anya returned the favor by helping him out of his jeans, palming his hard cock, making Noah hiss in pleasure.
“You’re still wearing too much.” He said, gesturing to her turtleneck shirt.
He lifted the shirt and freed her from her shirt, tossing the shirt somewhere in his room. His breath caught in his throat when he realized Anya wasn’t wearing a bra and was just in her panties.
“You’ve been like this the whole day?” Noah asked. He stepped closer to her and looked at her. Anya knew what he was asking, took his hand and placed it on her breast.
“No one noticed.” She sighed, his thumb slowly caressing her nipple.
“Fucking hell, Anya.”
Anya slightly pushed him and he landed on his bed, she stepped closer and placed herself to straddle him. She looked him deeply into his eyes and said the words she wanted to say for so long.
“I love you.”
Noah looked back into her eyes in awe, he cupped her cheek and gave her a deep kiss. He leaned back, pulling Anya with him and began to make out, his hands moving to her ass and giving a hard squeeze. Anya moaned into their kiss and began to grind into his hips, his cock almost touching her pussy, her pussy soaking her panties. Noah stopped kissing her to take a breath.
“I love you so much.” Noah said.
He flipped them over so that Anya was now the one laying on his bed, he began to pull off Anya’s soaked panties and looked at the sight in front of him, her glistening pussy illuminated by his headboard lights. He lowered himself to his knees and began to kiss up her legs, leaving a trail of love bites. He reached her pussy and inhaled before beginning to eat her out. The feeling making her moan out loud, Noah ate her as if his life depended on it. To keep her close to him, he wrapped his arms around her legs and gripped them tightly. His nose touching her clit, making the experience more pleasing for Anya, she gripped his hair and pulled him closer. Noah groaned and the feeling sent a jolt up her body.
“Noah, Noah, more please more!” She moaned.
She looked down at him and watched as he ate her out, wanting to see his face, she pulled his hair and made him look at her, his nose, mouth and chin wet from her arousal. She pulled him back to her and kissed him, tasting herself on his lips.
“I wasn’t finished eating.” Noah groaned.
“You can finish later, right now. Right now I just need your cock inside me.” Anya said.
She flipped them around, straddling him again and moved her hands to his underwear and pulled them down, Noah kicking them somewhere across the room. His cock freed from his underwear, Anya wrapped her hand around his cock and pumped him before putting him in her mouth and sucked his cock.
“Oh fuck!” Noah moaned.
Anya sucked him off, licking the slit of his cock. Noah placed his hands on the back of her head pushed down on him, almost making her gag. She looked at him, giving him a loving glare. She moved back up and lined herself up with him and slowly sank onto his cock, both of them groaning at the feeling of their bodies becoming one. Anya began to slowly ride him, wanting the feeling to never go away, Noah wanting to feel more of her put his hands on her hips in an effort to control the pace.
“You feel so good.” Anya moaned.
“You’re so much better than I dreamed.” Noah groaned.
Anya’s pace faltered at that confession. Noah dreamed of her and has wanted her for so long, that she couldn’t help the smile that graced her face. He’s always wanted as much as she wanted him. She leaned forward and kissed him passionately, Noah returning the kiss with as much passion.
Noah pulled her off of him and Anya groaned at the loss of him, until she realized that Noah positioned her so that he was on top of her. He moved in between her legs and lowered himself into again, thrusting with such gentleness, that she could’ve sworn she was in heaven. She looked into his eyes with such love and touched his forehead with hers.
“Mi Buen Amor.” She whispered.
“Amor.” He whispered.
“My…”
Thrust.
“Darling…”
Thrust.
“Anastasia…”
Thrust.
“My…”
Thrust.
“Heart…”
Thrust.
“My…”
Thrust.
“World…”
Thrust.
“My…”
Thrust.
“Love…”
Noah’s pace began faltering, he was cumming and he knew it. Anya could feel him getting close as well and wanted to cum with him, so she moved her hand in between their bodies and began to rub her clit. The feeling being so perfect she began to cum shortly after she started and in turn her orgasm squeezing Noah’s cock making him cum inside of her. The feeling of Noah’s hot cum inside made her moan loudly. Noah rolled off of her to her side, and turned her to face and kissed her again.
“You’re so beautiful.”
“Te amo mi amor.”
Anya leaned more into embrace and wrapped herself around him.
“Live with me.” Noah said.
“What?”
“Live with me.”
Anya looked up at him in disbelief of what he asked of her.
“Noah, you can’t be serious.”
“What?”
“We just finished having sex and now you’re asking me to live with you. We still haven’t established if we’re in a relationship or not.”
“I would’ve hoped that my cum dripping down your legs onto my bed sheets, established that we’re together.”
Anya couldn’t help but rub her legs together at his comment.
“But what if this doesn’t work out? What if we realize that we didn’t love each other that way we thought we did? What if …”
Noah cut off by kissing her passionately.
“I love you so much Anastasia. I told you already that I don’t plan on going anywhere. As long as I’m by your side, I’m with you no matter what.”
Anya sighed and Noah wondered if she would still say no.
“Alright. I’ll live with you, just don’t embarrass me motherfucker.”
Noah smiled out of pure joy.
“Never darling.” He said, pulling her close.
~ October 31st, 2020 ~
Anya had taken Noah out for his birthday and she took him to Universal Studios for the day and took him to the Redondo Beach Pier to walk along the pier and watch the sunset, while out during the day she secretly texted Jolly to set up the house for his surprise. They came home afterwards and as Anya began to open the door.
“Close your eyes, mi amor.” She said.
“Why? What did you do darling?” He asked suspiciously.
“Do you trust me?”
“Only because you’re my girlfriend.”
“Such a flirt.”
Noah closed his eyes while Anya opened the door and pulled him inside while guiding him by his hands.
“Ok, open.”
Noah opened his eyes and was met with everyone from the band and Anya’s cousin Stephanie popping their confetti poppers in his face.
“Surprise!!!” Everyone yelled
“What the fuck?”
“Happy Birthday Mi Amor!” Anya said, giving him a kiss.
The living room was decorated in Naruto birthday decorations. On the table was a cake with a Naruto cake topper inscribed with the words ‘Happy Birthday Noah!’.
“I hope you like it?” Anya said nervously. “I know you said that you don’t care for birthdays, but this is the first time I’m celebrating with you guys an…”
Noah kissed her to calm down her nerves.
“I loved it darling, thank you. When did you plan this?”
“I had help from Jolly?”
“Jolly?”
“Man, I’m never planning anything with her again. Finding anything with her was a challenge. ‘No that’s not the right shade of red Jolly!’ ‘This is for Noah’s birthday! It has to be perfect!’” Jolly said, imitating a high pitched girly voice.
“I don’t speak like that.”
“Eh, you kinda do karaste. Especially when you speak about Noah.”
“Yeah, you really do. I’ve only seen you go soft when you speak about Noah and when he comes into the room.” Matt agreed.
“I agree, it was so weird.” Bryan said.
“If you think that was weird, you should see her at home. ‘Oh my god, Noah is just so hot, He so tall and I wanna climb him like squirrel to a tree.’” Stephanie said.
Anya blushed a deep red while Noah laughed.
“Fuck all y’all.” Anya said, hugging Noah.
“She’s perfect for me, so I don’t care if she goes all soft and shit around me.” Noah said.
“Come on, your cake is an Ice Cream cake, so if we don’t cut it now, it’s gonna melt.” Anya said.
Anya moved out of Noah’s grasp and put the candles in his cake to read 25, lit them, she walked over to Noah and held his hand to lead him to the table. The table was filled with food from the day at the picnic, with some desert such as mini fruit tarts in the shape of a 25.
“My dad was happy to make some food for today and my mom made the fruit tarts.” Stephanie said.
“Tell them I said thank you.” Noah said.
“No problem.”
They spent the night having a small party with drinking games, talking about getting ready for another tour soon. They realized that the pandemic hopefully could come to an end soon and they could go back on tour soon. They had recently started writing their next album with a few songs already being in the works. Noah held on tightly to Anya and didn’t let go of her throughout the night.
~ October 31st, 2021 ~
Today was the day they were finally moving in together. Many people would've thought moving in together on their own to their own apartment was fine, but both Anya and Noah surprised everyone by telling them that they had bought a house together and they were now living in their own home together. Many people questioned their decision, but the only person who didn’t question it and actually helped in finding their home was Stephanie. Many people questioned her life choices, so she understood Anya’s choices and why it felt like Noah and Anya were moving too fast. After some time, everyone accepted that both Anya and Noah were adults and knew what they’re doing and supported their choices. They decided that they needed their own home together and during the lockdown, someone on the internet thought it was a bright idea to expose certain aspects about the bands personal life, including their address. They only realized when fans began to send them fan mail to their personal address and not through the Sumerian Offices.
“Mi vida, can you help me with this box?”
Anya asked, walking into the house, with a box filled with books. Noah wearing a beanie and a hoodie in the warm October heat looked very out of place.
“I told you to wait until I got the heavy stuff, I don’t want you hurting yourself.”
“I know, but I wanted to help.”
Noah smiled at her and kissed her, taking the box out of her arms, placing it on the floor.
“What am I going to do with you?”
“Absolutely nothing. You love me like this.”
“Damn right.” He said, smacking her ass. “You wanna know why I chose this house out of all the houses we saw?”
“Was it because of the giant mirror in the dining room and the master bedroom?” She teased.
Noah wrapped his arms behind her and had her face the mirror in the kitchen, palming her breasts through her shirt.
“To see us fucking in front that mirror, watching my cock sink into that glorious pussy of yours.” Noah whispered, kissing her neck.
“Stop, we have to bring the rest of the stuff inside the house.” Anya moaned, but made no attempt to stop him. Noah snaked his into her sweats, and began to rub her clit while his other hand moved into her pussy and fingered. It’s didn’t take much for her to cum into his hands, Anya turned to face him sank to her knees to free his aching cock from his sweats and wrapped her hands around his cock and began to jerk him off, sometimes taking him in his mouth and since he had just finished getting her off, it didn’t take much for him to cum as well, cumming in her mouth and her swallowing all that he had to give. When all was said and done, Anya realized that he was still wearing his hoodie and beanie and reached to take it off his head, Noah stopped her by reaching for hand.
“You’ve been wearing the hoodie and beanie all day today. You left very early this morning.”
“I did something today that might shock you.”
“You didn’t kill anyone did you? Do I need to help you hide the body?”
“Firstly, I very firmly believe that with the right motivation you could definitely hide a body, but no I didn’t do anything to that extent. Just don’t be too shocked at what you’re about to see.”
“Noah, you’re scaring me.”
Noah didn’t say anything but removed the hoodie and slowly removed the beanie, exposing his new Levi style haircut. Anya moved her hands to her mouth to cover her shock, his hair, the hair that she first met him in, she had many a time braided his hair for the fun of it and sometimes he had asked her to put his hair in fun styles when they had gone back on tour again when the lockdown was lifted. Anya walked up to him and reached to touch his hair, this length was different, it was new, and she had never seen him with hair this short.
“I figured with us moving into our new home, a new haircut should be thrown into the mix.”
Anya didn’t say anything, but continued to marvel at how short his hair was.
“Do you like it?” He asked nervously.
“I’m going to miss braiding and doing your hair.” Anya whined.
“To be honest, I think I will too, but I think I really needed this to show the change that we’re going through.”
“I love you and I love that you made this bold decision. Next time give me a heads up though.” She joked lightly smacking his shoulder.
“Definitely.” He said into her lips before kissing her again.
~Present Time~
Noah walked over to Anya’s side of the back seat, and carefully helped her out of the car. Nick was quick to get to Anya’s side and held her hand while Noah carefully removed the car seat from the car. They walked over to the house and opened the door, Jolly, Folio, Bryan, and Matt were inside waiting for them.
“Congratulations!!” They whispered.
The living room was decorated in ‘It’s a Boy’ decorations, and diapers, wipes, clothes. A small cake decorated with Baby Boy designs.
“Oh my god! Guys!” Anya cried out.
“How long did it take you guys to do all of this?” Noah asked.
“We've been working on this since Keaton was born, after we left the hospital. We immediately started making this shit happen when we got back.” Matt explained.
Anya was about to tear up at the gesture, until it dawned on her.
“Wait, how did you get in our house? More importantly, disarm the house?” Anya asked.
“Yeah, how did you guys get in our house?” Noah asked.
“You dumbasses left the keys in the bus, duh?” Matt said.
“That doesn’t explain the disarming of the alarm system.” Noah said.
“We disarmed it from your iPad, next time don’t put Anya’s birthday as your password you shithead.” Jolly said.
“Hey! No cursing in front of my baby and mi amor you’re so lucky I love you, because number one, my birthday? Number two: awww my birthday? Really?” Anya said.
Keaton began to whimper, and Noah was quick to put down the car seat and take out his son. Since Anya had just finished giving him a bottle 30 minutes ago and burped him as well, he couldn’t have been hungry or gassy. Noah checked to see what else it could’ve been and noticed that his diaper was wet.
“Looks like our son needs his diaper changed, I’ll go change him in our room darling.” Noah said to Anya.
Noah grabbed the diaper bag and just as he was about to head into their room. The boys immediately stopped from going through the hallway.
“We have a surprise for you guys.” Folio said.
“Come on, let us show you.” Bryan said, all giddy and excited.
Noah carried his son in his arms and looked back to see Anya being slowly walked over with some help by Nick. He waited until Anya was by his side and linked his left arm that was free with Anya’s arm.
“Let’s see what’s the surprise.” Anya giggled.
They slowly walked to one of the bedroom doors that the guys were waiting for them in front of.
“Alright guys, close your eyes.”
“Uh, can’t when he’s holding our son.” Anya said.
“Shit!” Matt said. Anya gave him another look. “Sorry.”
“Alright, Anya, you close your eyes because I think you like this more.” Nick said. Noah and Anya gave him a confused look.
“What, they were giving me updates.” Nick said nonchalantly.
Anya closed her eyes and Folio opened the door to what was once a guest bedroom and was now turned into a nursery for Keaton.
“Open your eyes darling.” Noah whispered, shocked at how amazing this room looked.
Anya opened her eyes and gasped at the sight. The light walls that were once a white color, one side was covered with a map of the hundred-acre wood map. The guest bed was replaced with a crib complete with a mobile of the Winnie the Pooh characters and a baby blanket with baby Winnie the Pooh characters hanging on the side of the crib. On the other side of the blank wall was Keaton’s name spelled out in wooden boards, the colors on his name matching almost each character. A changing table underneath his name, filled with wipes, diapers, and basket that contained everything Noah and Anya could need for their son. A rocking chair was now in the corner with another crocheted blanket in its seat, next to it was a dresser that no doubt filled with an abundance of baby clothes and a cream colored carpet covering the hardwood floors in the room.
“It’s not much, but we did the best we could.” Bryan said.
“Oh my god! Thank you so much guys!” Anya said, wiping away small tears forming in her eyes.
“Really! Thank you so much! We really appreciate this.” Noah said.
“Anything for my godson.” Matt said smugly.
“Excuse me guys, but I believe that I’m this little one’s godfather.” Folio was quick to say.
“Come on, we all know this little guy was meant to be my godson from the moment he decided to make his presence known to us.” Jolly said.
“Jolly, come on. You really think little Keaton would choose you guys? It’s obvious that he’s going to be my godson.” Bryan said.
“Come on guys, let's not fight now.” Nick said. Everyone looked at him in shock wondering why wasn’t putting in for the Godfather title.
“I’ve already changed, fed, and burped this little guy. So obviously I’m going to be his Godfather.” Nick said smugly.
Keaton began to cry this time, his wet diaper now became soiled and the smell making its way around to everyone’s noses. Anya smirked.
“Okay, like Nick said. He already helped in changing our son’s diaper already, so he’s exempt, but since all of you want to be Godfather so badly. You’re welcome to change his diaper, keep in mind if you don’t change him right away, he’ll pee on you.” She said.
“Nah, I’m good, I’m out.” Matt said, being the first to leave the room and everyone followed after. Nick being the last to leave and looking at Noah and Anya walking over to the changing table to change Keaton’s diaper, smiling, happy at the thought that his best friend since childhood now had the family he deserved.
“The beginning of our family, Noah.” Anya sighed.
“I think that started the night we met, to be honest.” Noah admitted. “We just didn’t know it yet.”
They cleaned up their son and changed his diaper and changed him into a new onesie. A baby blue onesie that said ‘Mommy and Daddy’s greatest surprise.’ They both laughed at the words.
“A little fitting, don’t you think?” Noah said
“Very.”
Anya looked at her son and wondered about something.
“Do you think we could try again for another?” She asked.
“We just had him and you wanna try again?” Noah asked in return. “Is this because since we didn’t know you were pregnant, you feel like you missed out?”
“Maybe, I don’t know. I was thinking about this in the hospital. What if we had known? Would anything be different?”
“Of course, they would. For starters, we wouldn’t have been doing all those tours, but not knowing wasn’t our fault. You weren’t showing and on top of your irregular periods, pregnancy wouldn’t be something we would’ve been worried about, so don’t stress yourself over darling. When the time comes, we’ll try and plan for our next baby and the next time we’ll be sure to document everything.” Noah said, comforting Anya and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
“For now let's focus on being this little guy's parents and planning our wedding.” Noah said.
Anya kissed him in return before giving a kiss to her son as well.
“I love you so much, Noah.”
“I love you more.”
Noah raised up his son and carefully handed him to Anya’s waiting arms. They slowly walked out of Keaton’s room and prepared to join the rest of the guys in the living room and wait for the arrival of Anya’s relatives to continue a very belated baby shower for them. They weren’t sure what the future held for them, but as long as they were at each other’s side, they were prepared for whatever came their way.

Rockwall County Dam Erosion is Monitored Closely
Rockwall County, Texas, is facing ongoing erosion at its largest dam, estimated to hold 30 million gallons of water. The land at the dam is moving, with cracks at the base and only feet away from the emergency stake at the top. The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board held a tri-county meeting to discuss the dam, and the USDA sent a state engineer to check the area. City leaders remain nervous, believing the dam's core is safe and the area will stabilize with rain slowing down. Mayor Bryan McNeal has instructed the area to go to the center apex two feet past. City officials must wait out the storm season and seek funding to fix any damage, which could take years. The only thing they can do to battle Mother Nature is to pray.

These might not always get you the best price, but they could definitely be worth a go if you don’t want to brave the online markets. Try word of mouth. Family and friends might want to buy a car. If not, they might know someone who does. Placing adverts across your local community can also work. Print newspapers are still popular, so why not place an advert in your local paper? Alternatively, how about placing an ad in a corner shop, supermarket, coffee shop, or pub?
Selling your car directly to a dealer: Selling your car to a dealer can be an easy option, especially if the right dealer for you is based nearby. You’ll need to make sure you find the right one, however. Some franchised dealerships might buy cars of all makes, but if it’s not one of the same brand, they aren’t going to offer you the best price as they’re unlikely to retail it directly themselves. Make sure to bring your ‘A-game’ to the negotiations. Dealers are out to make a profit, and while that isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world, it does mean they know all the tricks of the trade.
Part exchange your car with a dealer: One of the most popular ways of selling your car to a dealer is to part exchange when you trade in your old car for a new one. This essentially involves two deals being done in one transaction. Normally, you’ll trade in your old vehicle, for a newer, more expensive one. You then pay the difference – either by paying the extra money to the dealership or by taking out finance on the new car. This might sound like an ideal solution to all your problems. Not only do you get rid of your old car, but you also get a new one straight away. Simple, easy, and hassle-free right? Well not always… There are certain issues you need to be aware of if you’re considering a part exchange. Car dealers will often make more through a part-exchange and it’s usually more cost-effective to sell your car outright rather than through a part exchange.
Using an instant online car buyer: If you’re pushed for time, this is the ultimate method for selling your car quickly. It may not always net you the most money, but it’s always fast. You might not receive as much as if you sold your car privately. However, the process is designed to be remarkably easy and hassle-free. The growth of online car buyers has exploded over the last decade. Part of the reason for this growth is no doubt due to the simplicity of it. Normally you just value your car online and then arrange a collection or a drop-off appointment. There’s then an inspection followed by a final price negotiation and the sale is done with cash in your bank account.

Drug rehab near Bryan, TX
When looking for a drug rehab near Bryan TX the number one thing you need to take into consideration is if the center is accredited and offers quality treatment. You want to make sure that you do not fall into the trap of a facility that does not have the proper accreditation. Once you know what kind of accreditation the center has, you can move on to finding a treatment program that will suit you the best. There are many different treatment options available for those with a drug addiction problem, so be sure to choose the one that works best for you and your personal needs.
When looking for a drug rehab in Bryan TX that will provide you with a treatment plan that works, ask about what types of inpatient and outpatient treatment services are offered. Both types of care may be important to you depending on what you are trying to get out of treatment. If you need a program that will give you the help you need to stabilize your finances while you are in treatment, an inpatient program may be what you need to get there. Or if you are looking for treatment for some chemical dependency issues, outpatient counseling and medication may be enough to help you overcome your addiction.
Finding a center that provides top quality treatment for those with a drug addiction problem doesn't have to be hard. Just remember that you need to look for well trained and experienced staff members who can handle all kinds of patients. Also be sure to take into consideration any additional programs that the treatment center offers. These could be valuable tools for helping you to succeed in overcoming your problem.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
July 7, 2021
Heather Cox Richardson
Last week, the Bullock Texas State History Museum cancelled a book event three and a half hours before it was supposed to start. Written by journalists Bryan Burrough, Chris Tomlinson, and Jason Stanford, the book is titled Forget the Alamo, and, according to historian H. W. Brands, who reviewed the book for the Washington Post, it both introduces the story of the Alamo to readers unfamiliar with it and explains how the story has been interpreted since the 1836 battle occurred, using the ways in which British musicians Phil Collins and Ozzy Osbourne interacted with the site as a new lens.
Historians long ago put aside the heroic story of the Alamo, which told of freedom-loving Americans fighting off a Mexican tyrant who was trying to crush a fledgling republic. In the past several decades, so many historians have rewritten this history that Brands notes that the new retelling “sometimes appear[s] to be beating a horse that, if not dead, was put to pasture awhile back.”
Historians have explained how Mexican officials, eager to stabilize their northern borderlands after their own agreements with Apache tribes fell apart, permitted Americans to settle in what is now Texas. Americans moved to the area to grow cotton in the boom years of that era. When Mexico banned slavery in Texas in 1830, Americans rebelled. In October 1835, they joined with Mexican opponents of President Antonio López de Santa Anna’s government and went to war. By December, the Texian Army had pushed Mexican troops out of the Mexican territory of Texas, and the Texians hunkered down in the Alamo Mission near what is now San Antonio. In January, reinforcements, including James Bowie and Davy Crockett, arrived. About 200 Texians were there on February 23, 1836, when 1800 of Santa Anna’s troops laid siege to the Alamo. On March 6, Santa Anna’s troops attacked, killing almost all of the defenders (but not Davy Crockett, who surrendered and was executed later).
This history is well established… but Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick—who in March 2020 suggested that elders should be willing to die from Covid-19 in order to get the economy moving again—was one of apparently a number of Republican leaders who demanded that museum officials cancel the event. Governor Greg Abbott, Patrick and other Republican leaders are board members of the State Preservation Board, which oversees the Bullock Museum. “As a member of the Preservation Board, I told staff to cancel this event as soon as I found out about it,” Patrick tweeted. “[T]his fact-free rewriting of TX history has no place [at the Bullock Museum].”
As of the end of June, nine states have passed so-called “divisive concepts” laws, and 17 more are considering them. These measures try to control how teachers talk about issues of race, sex, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin, saying that such discussions are divisive. Yet, as historians James Grossman and Jeremy Young of the American Historical Association noted yesterday in The Hill, a survey by the American Historical Association and Fairleigh Dickinson University shows that, “regardless of political identity, age, race, gender or education level,” there is broad consensus that these issues provide essential content to understand our history and that they are appropriate for school history classes.
“We should be clear about what’s happening here,” Young and Grossman say. “This is the legislative equivalent of push-polling—creating division where none exists, raising fears about something that isn’t even happening to score political points.”
They point out that the bills are not coming from people in school districts, but instead follow a template produced by an organization led by Russell Vought, the former director of the Office of Management and Budget under the Trump administration. The organization’s website has a file on it titled: “Model-School-Board-Language-to-Ban-CRT-SD-HCS-edits-1.”
Here’s why this rewriting of our history matters.
Historians study how societies change. In order to do that, we examine sources created at the time—newspapers, teapots, speeches, tweets, photographs, landscapes, and so on-—and judge what we think happened by comparing these primary sources to things other historians have said, on the basis of evidence they have found. We argue a lot. But if we cannot see an ever-widening story, we cannot give an accurate account of how societies change.
An inaccurate picture of what creates change means that people cannot make good decisions about the future. They are at the mercy of those who are creating the stories. Knowledge is indeed power.
So the destruction of accurate history is about more than schools. It’s about self-determination. It’s about having the freedom to make good decisions about your life.
It’s about the very things that democracy is supposed to stand for.

There are many good books on the events in Texas in the 1830s, but if anyone is interested, my favorite book on the real story of the Alamo is James E. Crisp, Sleuthing the Alamo (Oxford University Press, 2004).

George Moros tries to reassure her.
George Moros: Look. We stopped the show for the evening. That gives us time to figure this out.
Sarah Lenti: Dawn McGill is going to hand the reins of PCW to Donald Trump for another four years!
George Moros: No she won’t. Clearly, it’s time to take this to the next level.

Suave introduces the Alabama Senate Medallion Match that was going to be shown via highlights on Extreme Election Night 2020 Part One.
VIDEO-Alabama Senate Medallion Match: Doug Jones (Progressive Alliance) vs. Tommy Tuberville (American Patriots) –Tuberville finishes off Jones. Cover. One – two – three!
WINNER: Tommy Tuberville (American Patriots)
Johnny Suave: “Tommy Tuberville rolls past Doug Jones and that’s another win for the American Patriots.”
Colleen Crowder: Again, we the media have not called that match so there’s no winner.
Suave notes that with the win, the American Patriots hold a two match to one advantage over the Progressive Alliance and that it all comes down to the Gary Peters-John James match later on tonight.
Crowder objects again. “It’s one to nothing Progressive Alliance as both the earlier South Carolina match and the Alabama match have NOT been called by us,” Crowder maintains.
Suave rolls his eyes and runs through the lineup for tonight’s show.

For the second time at Extreme Election Night 2020, PCW Owner Dawn McGill makes her way out- this time she goes to the ring.
Dawn McGill “The 6 Foot Demolition Machine in a Short Skirt” HT: 6’ 0″ WT: 130 / HOME: Dallas, TX FIN: McGill Bomb
Colleen Crowder: “What is SHE doing out here?”
Johnny Suave: “Um. She’s the owner of PCW. She’s got news to deliver?”
Colleen Crowder: “That’s OUR job! We determine what’s newsworthy for the people.”
Johnny Suave: “And that’s why Donald Trump uses Twitter to go around people like you.”
Colleen Crowder: “HEY!”
McGill climbs in. Suave sends to the ring for remarks from the owner of PCW.
TALKING BOUT HEROES The first thing Dawn McGill does is profusely thanks everyone who came to the show tonight.
Dawn McGill: “I keep saying this but you have to understand that I truly mean this. PCW isn’t about the big shots. PCW is all about YOU – the people. We do this for you.”
She then asks if there’s any first responders on hand tonight.
A few stand up.
Dawn McGill: “Let’s show them our appreciation.”
The crowd responds in kind and gives the first responders on hand an ovation.
Dawn then asks if there’s anyone here who recovered from having COVID. Again, a few people stand up and again the crowd gives out an ovation.
Colleen Crowder: “She’s just sucking up to the rabble.”
Johnny Suave: “Or she really means what she says and doesn’t have a narrative in mind.”
Crowder’s offended but McGill continues. She next asks if there’s anyone here tonight who runs a small business to please stand up.
Several do and they are greeted with an ovation from the PCW fans.
Dawn McGill: “Okay. Finally, everyone please stand up.”
They do.
Dawn McGill: “These have been unprecedented times. Yet, you’ve persevered. You’ve kept going. You’ve weathered or continue to weather the storm. You’re here. You are all heroes. Give yourself a hand.”
They do.
Dawn McGill: Thank you so much for coming out here tonight. You get it. But they don’t get it. Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer. They just don’t get it. Conservative Inc.- people if given the chance would sell our souls for the corporate dollar. They just don’t get it. So let me make this clear to everyone inside the Washington Beltway. PCW is-NOT-here-for-you.
RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Dawn McGill: PCW is not here for the American Patriots. PCW is not here for the Progressive Alliance. PCW is not here for the big money special interest groups. PCW is here for YOU…
RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Dawn McGill: …the fans. People like me and people like you who pay their bills on time – don’t spend money they don’t have – who don’t run up debt with no intention of paying the money back. You know, the stuff the people inside the Washington D.C. beltway are unwilling or completely incompetent at doing.
RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Johnny Suave: HOLY CRAP!
Colleen is momentarily startled by Suave’s outburst.
Johnny Suave: Dawn McGill just virtue signaled!
Crowder grumbled something under her breath but doesn’t actually respond- or maybe no one can’t hear her as the noise level is deafening
The video screen comes to life.
Johnny Suave: “What the hell is going on?”
The video screen zeroes in on a scuffle backstage.
Who’s Involved? Berkeley, California Professor McCarthy’s Progressive Flock -The Green World Order: GreenPete, PeaceNick, ‘Extreme Vegan’ Brock Cole Lee, Peta from PETA -The Young Jerks: Zenk Cryger, James Idahola, and Anna the foul-mouthed sidekick -Code Pink and Emily S. List -The League of Anti-Fascists: Ted and Chaz
American Heartland Coalition -Charlie Blackwell -‘PCW’s Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin
Johnny Suave: “Professor McCarthy’s Flock are beating down Charlie Blackwell and Tessa Martin. Both are scheduled to wrestle later on in the evening!”
Colleen Crowder: “It looks like a peaceful protest to me, Johnny.”
Blackwell gets flung into the wall by GreenPete and Brock Cole Lee.
Code Pink glitter bombs Tessa – she’s blinded. Emily S. List then DDT’s her to the floor.
“Yeah. Totally peaceful,” Suave says in a tone totally dripping with sarcasm.
Dawn immediately rolls out of the ring and takes off for the back.
Johnny Suave: “While Dawn checks out the situation, let’s show some of the House War Games Match between the Progressive Alliance and the American Patriots.”
Suave explains that two years ago, the Progressive Alliance ended the American Patriots run of victories that dated back to 2010.
Colleen Crowder: Two years ago, the Progressive Alliance won a decisive victory. Tonight, our polling states they will win and win easily.
————————————————-
MATCH #6/HOUSE WAR GAMES MATCH: Progressive Alliance vs. American Patriots
American Patriots: Lauren Boebert (CO)) Burgess Owens (UT) Jim Jordan (OH) Kimberly Klacik (MD) Lee Haywood (NC)
vs.
Progressive Alliance: Adam Schiff (CA) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) Deborah K. Ross (NC) Kathy Manning (NC) Ben McAdams (UT)
————————————————-
Johnny Suave: “The time limit is twenty minutes. Whomever has the most wrestlers left at the end of twenty minutes wins the match.”
Adam Schiff and Kimberly Klacik immediately lock up in the middle of the ring to start the match.
Johnny Suave: “Maryland’s Kimberly Klacik came out with a campaign video that went viral.”
youtube
Johnny Suave: “She’s gained a lot of attention and she’s trying to be successful in a district that overwhelming supports the Progressive Alliance. How far can she go tonight in this match?”
Schiff pushes Klacik to the corner. Side head lock by Klacik, but Schiff breaks free and hits a drop kick. Then he near decapitates Klacik with a clothesline. Schiff covers. One. Two. Three.
Kimberly Klacik (American Patriots) eliminated.
Johnny Suave: “Apparently not that long.”
Colleen Crowder: “BLUE WAVE! IT’S A BLUE WAVE!”
Jim Jordan lands a punch to Schiff’s jaw but misses a kick. Ross misses a Pelé kick. Jordan rolls her up for a two count. Jordan hits a back drop to Ross and Lee Haywood whips her to the corner. Lauren Boebert levels Ross with a stiff punch. Burgess Owens tags Ben McAdams with a right hand. McAdams counters an Owens’s suplex into a sleeper – Owens flips him forward to break the hold and goes to work with a volley of kicks. Boebert goes after Manning’s ankle.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez charges around the ring and levels Boebert. Ocasio-Cortez rolls Boebert into the ring and goes to work on her. Jamaal Bowman tags Owens with a right hand. Bowman and Owens circle each other and then lock up in the middle of the ring. Bowman locks in a standing side head lock and goes for shoulder tackle, but Owens barely budges. Bowman misses a splash in the corner. Bowman lifts Owens onto his shoulder, but Owens escapes and lands on his feet. McAdams comes in and finally takes Owens off his feet. Head butt by McAdams and he works over Owens in the corner. McAdams runs the ropes and takes down Owens with a drop kick. McAdams for the pinfall – Owens kicks out. McAdams runs the ropes again – Owens catches McAdams on the return with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Owens hooks the leg. One. Two. Three.
Ben McAdams (Progressive Alliance) eliminated.
Colleen Crowder: WHAT?
Johnny Suave: “BURGESS OWENS DEFEATS BEN McADAMS AND THE AMERICAN PATRIOTS TIE THIS MATCH UP!”
Crowder pulls herself together.
Colleen Crowder: “Still plenty of time for the Progressive Alliance to win. We’ve already projected it.”
Manning levels Haywood and heads up top. Haywood catches her and slams Manning to the mat. Cover. One. Two –
Johnny Suave: “MANNING KICKS OUT!”
Crowder almost appears relieved.
With time running short, Jim Jordan goes to work with super kicks on Adam Schiff and the two men battle back and forth. Lauren Boebert blocks a running power slam from Ocasio-Cortez and posts her in the corner. They get into a heated back and forth battle. Deborah K. Ross hits a forearm shot over the top rope on Lee Haywood. Kathy Manning follows with a kick to Haywood. Schiff throws Jordan over the top rope and then engages with Burgess Owens. Manning and Ross drag Haywood to ring center- DOUBLE DDT! Manning covers. One. Two. THREE!
Lee Haywood (American Patriots) eliminated.
Neither team could score a pinfall the rest of the match. When the bell sounds the Progressive Alliance hold a slim 4-3 advantage and pick up the win.
WINNER: Team Progressive Alliance @ 20:00
Colleen Crowder: “YES! Just like we called it!”
Johnny Suave: “For the second consecutive Extreme Election Night, the Progressive Alliance win the House War Games Match. This one was very close though.”
Crowder calls it further proof a ‘blue wave’ is taking over PCW. Suave ignores her.
BACKSTAGE PCW cameras find Charlie Blackwell and ‘PCW Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin laid out on the floor backstage being attended to by Nurse Nellie and the PCW Clean-Up Crew. Also on hand, ‘Red Solo Cup’ Ray McAvay and the Deplorables.
No sign of Professor McCarthy’s Flock.
More worrying, no sign of PCW Owner Dawn McGill. One of the Deplorables finds a heel shoe McGill was wearing on the floor and brings it to McAvay.
McAvay asks if anyone’s seen McGill? The PCW Clean-Up Crew tell him the only people they found were Blackwell and Martin.
McAvay immediately sends the Deplorables out to look for Dawn McGill.

MATCH #7/MICHIGAN SENATE MEDALLION MATCH:
Gary Peters (Progressive Alliance) vs. John James (American Patriots)
**********************************
Peters goes right after James. Rights to James. James pushes him down. Peters pops back up. A dropkick to James. James sends Peters out of the ring.
Johnny Suave: “That was a tough fall. Peters is a little shaken up.”
Colleen Crowder: “He’s just giving James false hope. This one’s in the bag.”
Peters back in. James hits an Enziguri and beats down Peters a bit. Hangman’s DDT. Cover. One. Two- Peters kicks out. James runs the ropes from side to side and dropkick’s Peters’s leg! Peters hobbles into a single leg takedown! Cover. One – TWO! Again Peters kicks out. James keeps the pressure on. He goes after the leg with a standing kneebar. Peters endures. James takes him down again and covers. One – Two – NO!
Johnny Suave: “Gary Peters stays alive in this match.”
Colleen Crowder: “He’s got John James right where he wants him, Johnny.”
Peters throws a haymaker and rocks James! James returns the favor and throws haymakers right back. James kicks the bad leg – Peters falls to the mat. James with a sunset flip – cover. One – TWO! Peters survives again. James stands and takes Peters’s bad leg. Spin.
Johnny Suave: “FIGURE FOUR LEG LOCK!”
James has it in tight and Peters’s is in a lot of trouble.
Johnny Suave: “THIS COULD BE IT!”
Colleen Crowder: “Nope. It’s all under control.”
James releases the hold and hooks the leg.
Colleen Crowder: “We’re projecting that Gary Peters is going to WIN this match!”
One. Two. TH-
But before James can get to three, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson run down and pull the referee out of the ring.
Johnny Suave: “HOLD IT!”
Whitmer sprays mace into the referee’s eyes. He falls to the floor and is out of commission.
James goes over to the ropes to find out what’s going on. Bad idea.
Johnny Suave: “HOLY CRAP! SHE JUST MACED JOHN JAMES!”
James stumbles back and falls over Peters. Peters immediately rolls him up.
A new referee slides into the ring.
ONETWOTHREE!
Johnny Suave: “QUICK COUNT!”
The referee calls for the bell and then takes off towards the back.
Colleen Crowder: “BLUE WAVE! BLUE WAVE!”
WINNER: Gary Peters (Progressive Alliance) @ 8:10
Suave can’t believe it.
Johnny Suave: “John James had this match won but Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson pulled the referee out of the ring. Whitmer maced the referee, then John James. Peters rolled up James to get the win.”
Crowder interrupts and informs Suave that the Progressive Alliance are now 2-0 against the American Patriots in the Senate Medallion competition. Suave no-sells Crowder and corrects her.
Johnny Suave: “With the win, it’s now tied up at two and two for the night. Mark Kelly and Gary Peters win for the Progressive Alliance. Lindsey Graham and Tommy Tuberville for the American Patriots. The Progressive Alliance won a tight House War Games Match. And now it’s down to our final two matches of the night. The PCW Women’s Title match. And the PCW Title match.”
Crowder attempts to cut in but Suave gets a message in his earpiece. It’s breaking news…
BACKSTAGE Nurse Nellie and the PCW Clean-Up Crew are back at work attending to Ray McAvay.
Johnny Suave: “Dawn McGill is missing. Charlie Blackwell and ‘PCW Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin were attacked and can’t wrestle now in their matches. And now Ray McAvay has been taken out.”
Colleen Crowder: “The important thing Johnny is our narrative and our narrative states the Progressive Alliance are doing well tonight- the Donald Trump era of PCW is mercifully coming to an end.”
Quick cut to the American Patriots’ box.
THE AMERICAN PATRIOT BOX The Coke Brothers-Charles and David, financiers and mover and shaker of the American Patriots, and Executive Director of the Lincoln Project Sarah Lenti continue to watch the show from their suite. The Cokes glance over and meet eyes with…
Quick cut to the Progressive Alliance box.
PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE BOX …George Moros, big money spender and mover and shaker in the Progressive Alliance. There’s smiles all the way around.
Johnny Suave: “Well. The Cokes and Moros seem pleased with the turn of events here. Too pleased.”
Suave thinks something is definitely up.
A STREET CORNER IN STANSTEAD, QUEBEC Along the banks of the River Tomifobia at the street sign marking the corner of Rue Dufferin and Cordeau and with a large blue sign welcoming people to the province of Quebec in the background, stand Meghan Markle and her bonny Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle: As long as that contemptable Donald Trump is the CEO of the Political Universe, this is as close as I’m going to get to the border of the United States.
Prince Harry: Yes dear. Whatever you want, dear.
Markle is at least happy that a proper woman will hold the PCW Women’s title after tonight- Kathryn Randall Collins.
Meghan Markle: She’ll be much better than that awful Sierra Whalen.
She adds that KRC’s win will be another shot across the bow to get rid of Trump and allow her to return to Los Angeles- home of the enlightened people.
Prince Harry: If we could could just fly in for a weekend, we could get to see KRC wrestle and-
And that sends the royal into a fit.
Meghan Markle: NO. NOnononononoNO!
Markle hops up and down and screams.
Meghan Markle: I will NOT set foot in that country until that horrible man is out of power. She turns to Harry who sighs.
Prince Harry: Whatever she wants- she gets.
Cut back to the broadcast desk…
Johnny Suave: Well, I’ll give her credit for sticking to her guns and actually staying out of the country – unlike the other celebs who swore up and down they were going to leave the country and didn’t.
Colleen Crowder: It’s not fair. If Donald Trump would just go away, Meghan Markle could finally come home.
Johnny Suave: Well, there’s another reason to hope Donald Trump prevails in 2020.
Colleen Crowder: JOHNNY!

Johnny Suave: “KRC versus Sierra Whalen. It’s time for our first main event of the night. The PCW Women’s Title match.”
Whalen makes her way down towards the ring.
youtube
KRC comes out next.
Kathryn Randall Collins “KRC” AGE: 37 / HT: 5′ 11″ WT: 145 / HOME: Ft. Myers, FL FIN: Gogoplata
Colleen Crowder: I agree wholeheartedly with Meghan Markle. If there’s any justice in this world, that little inbred redneck will not get a sniff of a chance to win the belt. Kathryn Randall Collins is a proper role model for women and we believe she will win.
The national media has also arrived at ringside: CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MSNBC, Fox News, One America News, and NewsMax. Immediately, the ‘traditional’ news outlets (CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and MSNBC) object to OAN and NewsMax being at ringside and there’s a lot of back and forth chirping between the two sides.
The referee is ready to go and the match begins.

MAIN EVENT #1/PCW WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH:
Kathryn Randall Collins (Progressive Alliance) vs. ‘Alaskan Rogue’ Sierra Whalen (American Patriots)
**********************************
Johnny Suave: “This is for the PCW Women’s title!”
KRC and Whalen eye each other as they slowly meet at the center. Lock up. Whalen looks to have gained the advantage but KRC swiftly takes an arm wringer. Whalen reverses – KRC reverses back – Whalen reverses and shoves KRC away. We start over. The crowd buzzes as again KRC and Whalen glare at each other. They circle. Lock up – Whalen takes a chop from Parker. Whalen returns the favor. KRC feints a chop and drives a thrust kick into the chest of Whalen. Whalen down – cover. One – two – Whalen shoots the shoulder up and rolls out of the ring. KRC paces back and forth impatiently.
ABC’s Martha Raddatz and Jon Karl immediately grab Whalen and throw her back into the ring.
Johnny Suave: “And there’s our impartial, independent media at work again.”
Colleen Crowder: “They’re just doing their job Johnny.”
Lock up. KRC takes control. Belly to back suplex. Collins then hits three rolling gutwrench suplexes in a row. Cover. One – two – Whalen kicks out.
Suave thinks that was a ‘fast count.’
Colleen Crowder: “That was a perfect count.”
Whalen slowly climbs back to her feet. KRC waves her towards her – Whalen swipes at KRC. KRC boots Whalen again! KRC rocks Whalen with an uppercut – another uppercut. She runs the ropes and eats a shoulder block from Whalen. Whalen covers. One…………two…….. KRC kicks out.
Johnny Suave: “Okay. That count seemed to be a little on the slow side.”
Colleen Crowder: “All these complaints about the counts. Gosh Johnny, it’s like you want Sierra Whalen to win.”
Johnny Suave: “Actually Colleen, it’s glaringly evident to everyone with the IQ of a brick that you want KRC to win.”
Crowder goes indignant but the match continues.
KRC takes Whalen to the ropes and drags her head across the ropes. She backs up and throws another haymaker. KRC runs the ropes – Whalen backdrops KRC and then follows with a snap suplex. She lays the boots to KRC and drops a leg on her thigh. Whalen’s elbow connects. KRC pushes back and staggers to get up. Whalen pushes her backward and rushes in to ram into her against the corner turnbuckle. Whalen fires off furious fists. She’s admonished by the referee for using a closed fist. KRC returns fire and Whalen backs away. She looks at the referee- the referee shakes his head.
Johnny Suave: “And that wasn’t a closed fist?”
Colleen Crowder: “Stop being so obvious. You want Whalen to win.”
Whalen launches herself forward and whips KRC into the corner. Now Whalen charges in – MSNBC’s Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow to the ring apron – THEY PULL KRC OUT OF THE WAY! *COLLISION* Whalen slams into the corner turnbuckle and slides down to a seated position. Now MSNBC’s Brian Williams, CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Anderson Cooper blatantly choke Whalen while the referee is ‘distracted.’
Johnny Suave: “WHAT THE HELL?”
The referee finally puts a stop to the Whalen mugging. KRC back on offense. Scoop slam. Cover. One-two- Whalen kicks out. KRC lifts her up- DEATH VALLEY DRIVER TO WHALEN! Cover. One-two- Whalen just kicks out.
Johnny Suave: “This match has been turned on its ear by blatant outside interference.”
Colleen Crowder: “That’s simply not true Johnny and shame on you for spreading fake news. We are now projecting that Kathryn Randall Collins will become the new PCW Women’s Champion.”
Whalen reaches for the ropes but her hand’s about a foot and half away. She tries to inch closer. Finally, KRC whaps her in the back of the head and pulls her to the middle of the ring. Whalen tries to kick her way out. KRC sits on her back and grabs hold of her wrists. She crosses Whalen’s arms under her chin and pulls back on the arms.
Johnny Suave: Straitjacket by KRC and she is in control of this match.
Whalen fights out and tries to pull herself up – KRC collects her and drives her to the mat with a powerbomb. Whalen hits hard. KRC moves in for the kill. She hooks the leg. One–two–THREE!
Crowder nearly jumps out of her chair. She lets out a loud ‘whoop!’
WINNER AND NEW PCW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: Kathryn Randall Collins (Progressive Alliance) @ 10:04
Johnny Suave: “With an assist from the media, Kathryn Randall Collins of the Progressive Alliance has defeated the American Patriots’ Sierra Whalen and she is the new PCW Women’s Champion!”
While KRC celebrates inside the ring, OAN and NewsMax get into a heated argument with CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MSNBC, and even Fox News over what just happened.
Before Crowder can get started, Suave pre-emptively sends it to a commercial break.
NEW YORK STATE OF MIND New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio stands outside his house to make his plea for Joe Biden to bring PCW to the Empire State- New York.
Bill de Blasio: “Joe. When you become the new PCW CEO tonight, please think about New York City!”
Johnny Suave: “Business leaving in droves.”
In the background, an endless parade of moving trucks pass by.
De Blasio says with all due respect to California, New York City is a big event city. He hails New York City as the place where nobody sleeps.
While the Mayor speaks, Harry and Marv of Home Alone fame remove furniture and valuables from de Blasio’s house.
Johnny Suave: “Oh. And a crime problem, too.”
Bill de Blasio: “New York City is the place to be.”
Several moving trucks honk as they drive past.
Bill de Blasio: “So come on Joe. Move PCW to the big time. Move to New York City…”
Harry and Marv remove de Blasio’s watch and steal the keys to his car.
Bill de Blasio: “…so you too can live the New York dream!”
*********************************
Suave begins the pre-match run-up to tonight’s main event by showing highlights from the Progressive Alliance convention.
(VIDEO: PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE MATCH RESULTS) Deval Patrick, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, Michael Bennet, Andrew Yang, Amy Klobucher, Tom Steyer, Michael Bloomberg, Tulsi Gabbard, John K. Delaney, Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigleg
Elimination is through being tossed over the top rope.
-Tulsi Gabbard is not allowed into the arena and prevented from participating in the match.
-Delaney and Patrick, Bennet, Steyer, and Yang go really early.
-Klobuchar and Buttgleg put up more of a fight but then they fall away.
Mike Bloomberg labored throughout the match and gets rolled up out of the blue by Elizabeth Warren. Bloomberg finishes a disappointing fourth.
Warren goes next. Sanders pins her.
Then it’s down to two- Sanders vs. Biden.
This comes down to Sanders and Biden grappling on the mat. Sanders rolls him up.
One…
Two…
South Carolina Senator Jim Clyburn, with the blessing of the Progressive Alliance establishment, runs in and rolls Biden on top of Sanders.

WINNER: Joe Biden @ 19:50

Johnny Suave: “That’s how Joe Biden won his math. Let’s see how Donald Trump got here as he faced off against Joe Walsh (hint: NOT the guitarist) and William Weld in the American Patriots match at their convention.”
(VIDEO: AMERICAN PATRIOTS MATCH RESULTS) CEO of the Political Universe Donald Trump (R-NY) vs. Joe Walsh (R-IL) vs. William Weld (R-MA)

Trump comes out and kicks Walsh in the balls. DDT by Trump. Cover.

Then Weld rushes in. Trump drop toeholds Weld and he hits the corner turnbuckle. Cover.
One…two…THREE- Weld’s done. (:25)
WINNER: Donald Trump @ :25
(END VIDEO)
Johnny Suave: “Donald Trump took an easy victory over Joe Walsh and William Weld and now we’ve reached the moment of truth. Our ring announcer is Kimber Marshall and let’s send it to her now.”
Marshall stands in the middle of the ring.
Kimber Marshall: “Ladies and gentlemen, this match will be…”
Crowd: ONE fall!
Kimber Marshall: “And it will be for the PCW Title! Introducing first…
youtube
Johnny Suave: “Ah. Bruce Springsteen. Another one of the many celebs who’ve promised to move out of the US if Trump wins.”
Colleen Crowder: “Don’t you bad mouth ‘The Boss.’ Springsteen speaks the truth.”
Joe Biden comes out with his wife Dr. Jill Biden (and don’t you forget the ‘Dr.’ part). Behind him is his choice for Aide de Camp Kamala Harris.
Then Marshall announces the Progressive Alliance wrestler taking part in the match.
‘Mr. Hollywood’ Kevin Daniels HT: 6′ 0″ WT: 200 / HOME: Hollywood, CA FIN: The True Hollywood Blockbuster
Daniels comes out and shakes hands with both Bidens and Kamala Harris.
Kimber Marshall: “And their opponent…”

The supporters “TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!” chant merges with the melody of the Imperial March and becomes:
“TRUMP.
TRUMP.
TRUMP.
TRUMP-TRUMP-TRUMMMMP
TRUMP-TRUMP-TRUMMMMP”
Dressed in all black complete with a flowing black cape, Donald Trump and his spokesperson Kayleigh McEnaney walk out on stage to a big ovation from the American Patriots.
Kimber Marshall: Residing in the Trump Tower in the great city of New York, New York! He promises to…
The Trump supporters shout out: “MAKE PCW GREAT AGAIN!”
Kimber Marshall: Accompanied by his Aide de Camp Mike Pence and representing the American Patriots! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE CURRENT CEO OF PCW- DONALD J. TRUMP!
Again, the Trump supporters let loose with thunderous roar that shakes the building. Trump nods and acknowledges the fans.
Johnny Suave: “Here he is. The current CEO of PCW. Donald Trump.”
Colleen Crowder: “Ugh. And he’s being led to the ring by… her.”
Johnny Suave: “You’re just saying that because Kayleigh McEnaney won’t play the ‘game’ the way you want her to play.”
McEnaney leads the way as Trump, black robe ruffling behind him as he strides, makes his way down the steps from the stage toward the ring followed by Mike Pence and Pence’s wife Karen.
Marshall then announces the American Patriots’s wrestler.
‘Starz N. Stripes’ Kevin Scott HT: 6′ 3″ WT: 250, HOME: Ottumwa, IA FIN: American Stars and Fujiawa Arm Bar
Scott walks out on stage and shakes hands with Trump, Pence, Mrs. Pence. Then the entourage heads towards the ring.
Johnny Suave: “So here we are. This is for the PCW title and then we will find out who will be the PCW CEO for the next four years.”
Colleen Crowder: “We already know the answer. It’s going to be Joe Biden.”
Biden shouts encouragement to Kevin Daniels- but he’s facing the wrong way. Harris subtly turns him around towards the ring.
Before the match starts, Suave and Crowder are joined by a special guest- the CEO of Facetwitogram Jack Buckenberg.
**********************************
MAIN EVENT #2/PCW TITLE MATCH:
‘Starz N. Stripes’ Kevin Scott w/PCW CEO Donald Trump, Aide de Camp Mike Pence (American Patriots) vs. ‘Mr. Hollywood’ Kevin Daniels w/PCW CEO candidate Joe Biden, Aide de Camp candidate Kamala Harris (Progressive Alliance)
**********************************
The bell sounds and the match begins.
Scott rushes forward. Daniels side-steps him. The two men circle. Scott aggressively comes forward. Daniels plays defense and makes him chase. Daniels connects with a spin kick that gives Scott some pause. Quick lock up – Scott takes a headlock – Daniels slips out. Scott fires off right and left hands. He follows with a standing spinebuster. Hooks the leg – one – two – Daniels kicks out and calls a ‘time-out.’ He rolls outside the ring and confers with Biden and Harris.
Johnny Suave: “Kevin Scott off to a fast start here causing Mr. Hollywood to bail out of the ring.”
Jack Buckenberg: “Actually Johnny, before you share this content, you might want to know that fact-checking sites, Snope.com, and other media sources have disputed the accuracy of it.”
Colleen Crowder: “Yeah! Kevin Daniels is probably just getting warmed up and wanted to talk strategy with Joe Biden.”
Once back in, Daniels and Scott tie up – Scott gains control. He wrenches, hammerlocks, and throws forearms into Daniels’s back. Headlock by Scott and hits the takeover. Scott tries to grind Daniels down. Daniels fights up and around but Scott wrenches the arm again. Scott takes a wristlock. Daniels throws a couple body shots. Surprise roll into a REAR NAKED CHOKE! Scott elbows out. Daniels with a drop toehold and gets the legs to hook them. One – Scott powers out. Scott goes for a rear bear hug – Daniels fights his way out with elbows. Daniels backdrops Scott to the mat. Scott up – Daniels legsweeps him back down. Cover. One – two – no. Scott powers out.
Johnny Suave: “Better from Kevin Daniels there. He seems to be coming into the match.”
Colleen Crowder: “Johnny, I don’t know what match you’ve been watching but it’s clear Daniels is totally dominating the match.”
Johnny Suave: “That’s debatable.”
Jack Buckenberg: “Actually Johnny, we’ll allow it. It’s a factual statement.”
Johnny Suave: “Of course you will.”
Scott nails Daniels with a kick to the jaw. Cover. One – two – 2.5 – Daniels just kicks out before the three count. Scott boots Daniels in the gut. Daniels drops to a knee – Scott drags him right back up. He goes to whip Daniels – Daniels reverses and knees Scott low and hard! Daniels hits the ropes and Scott ducks under. Another boot to the gut and a Sling Blade takes Daniels down. Cover. One – Two – NO! Daniels just gets the shoulder up.
Johnny Suave: “Another close pinfall for Kevin Scott. He is really doing well here tonight.”
Jack Buckenberg: “Again Johnny, before you share something like that, you should know that independent fact checkers dispute its accuracy.”
Johnny Suave: “It’s an opinion Jack that I’m entitled to based on what I’ve witnessed here during the match.”
Jack Buckenberg: “Once again, what you said is disputed by third party fact checkers.”
Johnny Suave: “*BLEEP* your third-party fact checkers.”
Daniels grows a little frustrated. He goes to the referee and starts to berate him. This allows Kamala Harris to sneak into the ring with a steel-folding chair. She raises it up – Mike Pence runs in- followed by his wife Karen (Pence never eats alone with a woman other than his wife and won’t attend events featuring alcohol without her by his side). Mike grabs the chair and stops Harris – the chair falls and accidently lands on Harris’s foot.
Colleen Crowder: “MIKE PENCE DID THAT ON PURPOSE!”
Johnny Suave: “Harris was going to hit ‘Starz N. Stripes’ Kevin Scott with that chair.”
Jack Buckenberg: “Er. Independent fact-checkers say that statement contains false information-“
Suave turns off Buckenberg’s microphone.
Crowder goes ballistic and demands Suave turn Buckenberg’s microphone back on.
Johnny Suave: “I guess it really does suck when you get censored, huh.”
Pence apologizes to Harris for the incident.
Harris kicks him in the groin.
Johnny Suave: “Ooooh. Apology not accepted. And Kamala Harris did that on purpose.”
Colleen Crowder: “She did not! She……….um, slipped.”
Karen Pence then tackles Harris in the ring and both women roll around on the mat.
Johnny Suave: “CAT-FIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! CAT-FIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!”
Colleen Crowder: “Okay. That was totally offensive, Johnny.”
Meanwhile, Daniels runs the ropes – Scott ducks a clothesline and waits for him to come back to clock Daniels with a right hand. Scott blocks a suplex attempt using the power of gravity. Daniels walks into a body slam. Scott covers. One – two – 2.999! Daniels just gets a shoulder off the mat. Scott CLOBBERS Daniels with a right hand. Cover. One – two – THR-THE REFEREE GETS PULLED OUT OF THE RING!
Johnny Suave: “WHAT THE HELL?”
All three members of the Guild of Low Level Media People Trying to Make a Name for Themselves Colleen Crowder- New York Times, Sharon Johns- CNN, and Dan Miller- Washington Post yank the referee out of the ring.
All hell breaks loose. The media climb into the ring while another referee appears and rolls in under the ropes.
Scott’s trying to figure out what’s going on. Daniels just gets back to his feet and even he’s wondering what’s happening.
The referee calls for the bell. He goes to ring announcer Kimber Marshall and tells her what his decision is.
Marshall climbs into the ring and makes the announcement.
WINNER AND NEW PCW MEN’S CHAMPION: ‘Mr. Hollywood’ Kevin Daniels (Progressive Alliance) @ 10:48
Johnny Suave: “WHAT?”
A huge celebration erupts in the ring as Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, Pennsylvania State Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and former Georgia Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams join Daniels, the Bidens, Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the Guild of Low Level Media People Trying to Make a Name for Themselves (Crowder-NY Times, Johns-CNN, and Miller-Washington Post).
Outside the ring and around the bar- not so much. The PCW fans are shocked. Kevin Scott is stunned at the decision. Trump is furious and tries to corral the referee but the ref is in the middle of the Progressive Alliance party going on in the ring.
Johnny Suave: “Kevin Daniels has been named the new PCW champion even though he did not pin ‘Starz N. Stripes’ Kevin Scott.”
If the PCW fans didn’t like the Daniels decision, they definitely didn’t like what happened next…
THE DECISION. TRUMP OR BIDEN? The Coke Brothers (Charles and David), George Moros, Lincoln Project Executive Director Sarah Lenti slowly make their way down to the ring.
Johnny Suave: “HOLY CRAP!”
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Johnny Suave: “The fans have already connected the dots on this one. Dawn McGill- missing. The DC Establishment is here.”
The Cokes, Moros, and Lenti have to duck and dodge debris.
Biden stands in front of the big group that’s gathered inside the ring for the announcement. Donald Trump stands on the outside.
The four climb into the ring. Moros has a microphone and he doesn’t waste any time.
George Moros: “Joe Biden-“
The Progressive Alliance explode with joy inside the ring.
Johnny Suave: “THAT’S IT! JOE BIDEN HAS BEEN SELECTED TO BECOME THE NEW CEO OF POLITICAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!”
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Biden looks towards Trump for the traditional post-match handshake- but Trump has already left ringside and headed towards the back.
Johnny Suave: “NO HANDSHAKE. TRUMP’S GOING TO THE BACK.”
Suave wraps up the show by reviewing the results.

A Child Custody Evaluator's Interaction with your children: Preparing for interviews
On the off chance that you have require a best reasonable Texas Divorce Law encounter, A Child Custody Evaluator's Interaction with your children: Preparing for interviews with the immense procedure!
Spring TX Divorce Lawyer: If your child custody or divorcecase has a child custody evaluator assigned to it then in nearly all circumstances interviews will take place between the evaluator and your family, including your children.
This is an opportunity for the evaluator to learn more about the children’s impressions of what is going on with their lives so that the judge may become aware of the circumstances a little better. Ultimately the judge is concerned with making decisions that are in the best interests of the children and not what is in your or your opposing party’s best interests.
A word of advice at the outset of this blog post would be to avoid coaching your children to provide certain responses to questions in order to attempt to sway the evaluator. For one the evaluator is an experienced interviewer and as a result is adept at keying in on a lie.
Secondly, children are not good at reciting stories or recalling information that you previously told them. They may be able to remember the three things you told them to say on a particular subject but it is unlikely that he or she will be able to understand why he or she should say those things or even the order to say them. Ultimately your attempts to coach may backfire against you.
I advise clients to approach these interviews with their children like they would anything else in life. Be truthful, don’t be worried about what is being asked, and always remember that you and their other parent will always love them no matter what is said. That’s about it. Ideally, your child should be as free of anxiety as possible prior to one of these interviews and confirm your love and put their fears to rest is a good way to start.
Children typically are not asked outcome determinative questions
One part of the interview process that I believe should be shared is that from my experience the custody evaluator does not typically ask children questions about where he or she wants to live.
Like most things in their lives, children have opinions and feelings about which parent they would care to live with. Depending on their age these feelings may have the backing of actual circumstances and facts that have shaped that opinion. For younger children, their opinion can change on a weekly basis based on which parent bought them McDonald's most recently.
However, evaluators can tell the feelings of a child towards a parent even in situations where seemingly harmless questions are asked. If the child is asked to draw a picture of their family and the picture shows you or the other parent at a distance away from the child that can be telling in and of itself.
This isn’t anything that you can prepare the child for necessarily. Helping your children to be as comfortable as possible is the best and essentially the only way to prepare a child to be interviewed under these circumstances.
Ensuring that the evaluator has all the information he/she needs to conduct interviews
Spring Divorce Lawyer: It is very possible to lose track of all of the items that you are responsible for in your divorce. Not only do you have a full-fledged legal case to help organize but your family responsibilities don’t just go away during this same time period. It may be the last item on your “to do” list to make sure that the child custody evaluator has all the information he or she needs to conduct interviews and complete their evaluation.
Just as your attorney asked you at the beginning of your case, he or she would be well served to remind you now that providing information to the people that are working on your case with you is one of the most important responsibilities that you have as a party.
There is only so many hours in the day and only so much of an opportunity to conduct in-depth interviews. The documentation that you provide to the evaluator should be fully complete and allow him or her to learn as much background about you and your family as possible.
The questionnaire will likely ask you to describe your children, their habits, their personalities and their interests. How well do they do in school? What do they struggle with?
Other questions will likely delve into what their routine is and who typically picks them up from school and helps them with homework and other responsibilities. If you or the other parent work during the day or have irregular hours the evaluator may like to know who will attend sporting events, dance recitals or other extracurricular activities. Essentially, you need to honestly state which parent is involved in certain areas of your children’s lives and to what degree.
Finally, the evaluator will ask “skeletons in the closet” type questions. It’s likely that your attorney has already asked you to answer these sort of questions so nothing should come as a surprise to your attorney.
If you have any sort of criminal record, or if your opposing party does, is a common question to ask. What’s more- if you have battled an addiction to drugs, alcohol or any other substance is a question that will need to be answered honestly.
It is no use to tell half-truths or outright lies. If it is discovered that you have attempted to hide information that will be worse than the consequences of fully admitting a chemical dependency when given the opportunity.

Resolving Child Support Disputes without going to court: A how-to guide for Texas parents
If you have need a best suitable service your Child Law experience, Resolving Child Support Disputes without going to court: A how-to guide for Texas parents with the great process!
Divorce Lawyer in Spring TX: Family law cases are typically not decided in a courtroom with a judge playing tiebreaker between two parents that cannot seem to agree on anything. I know that television and movies would have you think otherwise, but if you are facing a family law case do not start your case off with this mistaken assumption.
I have known more than one person who was hesitant to file a family law case because they were so concerned that the case would take a lot of time, cost a lot of money and would be decided by a person that didn't even know you or your child.
I think the subject that gets the most attention in family law has to be child support. Parties to family law cases will often times reach settlements on issues like property division, child custody, visitation, and other issues, but child support can be one that requires a little more effort to settle. Communication between parents is essential to settling a case and for some reason the ability to communicate breaks down when it comes to discussing child support.
On some level, this may be confusing to many of you reading this blog post. Many family law cases are the sort where child support is very straightforward. For example, if you are responsible for the support of one child and earn $50,000 per year, you will likely pay child support according to the guidelines set forth in the Texas Family Code. However, if you earn more than $8,550 per month or if your child has a special need or disability then your situation may not be so simple.
If you anticipate that settling your case will be difficult because of child support related issues, then today's blog post from the Law Office of Bryan Fagan is for you. I will share with you some tips that I have picked up in my time as a family law attorney that relates to settling child support issues before getting to a courtroom. Settling a case means that you have direct say over what the final orders of your case will be. If you are trying to avoid the expense and headaches associated with family law trials you should read this blog post.
Discuss child support in terms of the specific needs of your child rather than in dollars and cents
Spring TX Divorce Lawyer: For most children, you should have a very good idea of what he or she "costs" each year as far as their activities are concerned. Does he or she participate in extracurricular activities through school? Does he or she go to a private or public school? Does he or she play travel soccer which requires gear, uniforms and hotel costs?
Or does he or she run cross country, which requires a couple of pairs of shoes and a Gatorade bottle? My point is that for most parents, you know pretty well what it takes to keep your kid moving as far as money is concerned.
More importantly, you will know if your child has special medical or school-related needs that have to be attended to. If your reality is a child who goes to see a specialist once a month for treatment then those costs should already be worked into your family budget. Likewise, if your child has to receive tutoring in math every week in order to keep their grades up then this is likely a cost that has been in place for at least a few months prior to the start of your family law case. Again, you can predict these costs. They should not catch you by surprise once your family case gets moving.
What you need to do is that once you have a firm idea of what those costs are on a monthly basis, you need to communicate them to your attorney. Many attorneys will fall into the trap of applying guidelines levels of child support for every case they have. This would for most cases, but your case isn’t one that the guideline levels of support would work for. If you know that your child needs a greater than average amount of monthly child support then you need to communicate that to your lawyer so that he can negotiate for that in mediation.
Work with your attorney on coming up with outside the box solutions to your child support challenges
The Texas Family Code is like any other group of laws contained within a codebook, especially in relation to child support. They are pretty inflexible. That works ok when you have a straightforward case. However, once you throw some curveballs into the mix of your case, then you may need some more creative, outside the box thinking in order to settle your case before a trial.
You and your child’s other parent need to work with your attorneys to incorporate your child’s specific needs into a plan for achieving a just amount of child support to be paid. Remember that the amount of child support that is set may be the law for years to come. Fortunately what you and your soon to be ex-spouse agree to pay in child support can be much more flexible than what a judge is likely to order be paid.
Suppose that you and your spouse want the ever-popular “50/50” possession schedule, where you split your child’s time with your spouse 50/50. If this is what you want as far as possession is concerned, you can calculate what each of your child support would be based on your income and then subtract the smaller amount from the larger amount. The parent who earns more income would then pay the difference in child support to the parent who earns less income.
Uninsured medical costs can also be handled in a similar fashion. If you look at your own income and compare that to the other parent. Whatever your percentage of the household income is, you can pay that percentage of the uninsured medical costs that your child incurs. This way neither parent can argue that the other one doesn't have "skin in the game" when it comes to paying for these costs which can be difficult to predict on a year to year basis. If you want to feel like you have ownership over the costs of your child then this is a great way to do so.
What about travel costs?
Spring Divorce Lawyer: Many parents in today's world do not live in neighboring areas or even neighboring towns. In a metropolitan area like Houston, even suburbs like Kingwood and Katy can feel like they are light-years apart. What happens if, during the middle of your divorce case, your ex-spouse moves to Galveston for work? He would not necessarily be in violation of your court order's geographic restriction but there would be increased costs associated with transporting your child back and forth across a great distance.
You should certainly take into consideration these costs when setting an amount of child support. If your spouse must bear the burden of paying most of the travel costs then you may offer a reduction in child support in an effort to settle your case rather than push it to a trial.
This is a fair thing to do even after your child support case has ended. Suppose that you as the custodial parent choose to move to Galveston two months after the divorce was finalized. You are not in violation of your court order but that move has put a huge burden on your ex-spouse who now has to do a great deal more in the way of driving to see your child.
In order to make this right, you can decrease the amount of child support that he is expected to pay. Having a handshake agreement to decrease the amount of child support is one way to go about accomplishing this goal, but you can also seek a modified order through mediation if you would like to get something in writing. In addition, you could always offer to do the driving once a month (for example) or offer to meet your ex-spouse halfway in between your homes in order to cut the driving distance he has to cover down by 50%.
In order to give yourself a good shot at being able to negotiate successfully in this area, make sure that you come ready with receipts, estimates for cost, estimates for time and anything else that would be helpful in meditation. If you can come with an Excel spreadsheet of figures for your spouse to pour over that will go over much better than throwing around a lot of numbers with very little in the way of back up ... Parenting your children through a divorce: A family law attorney's guide
Houston Divorce Lawyer: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This well known phrase has probably been uttered to you a time or two during your life to help you to conceptualize that your first step towards achieving a goal is just as important as the final step. What if you find yourself in a situation where your goal is to remove yourself from a harmful marriage and to provide a better life for your children? Where should you start when you bring this subject up to your children?
Depending on the age of your child, you may be best off discussing the divorce with your child in an open and honest fashion. From what I have found, parents experience good results by talking to their children together as a joint unit. This instills the idea in your children that you and your spouse are still on the same page when it comes to the most important aspect of their lives- their children. There will be question that your children want addressed after you tell them about your divorce. This will allow you and your spouse to give honest, supportive answers that clearly indicate that neither of them are going to leave the children without the care and support that they crave- whether they know it or not.
Make it well known to your children that both you and your spouse are not going anywhere
Even though your living arrangements will change and the life that they used to lead will change as well, neither you nor your spouse will be going anywhere as a result of the divorce. Your love for your children is unconditional and a change in your marital status will not affect that one bit. Use your words wisely
The divorce is not your children’s fault. You may understand this clearly but they may not. Express this in no uncertain terms. It wasn’t because they weren’t well behaved enough, or didn’t do well enough in school or sports that caused your divorce to happen. Simple and consistent answers to these difficult questions are the best way to attack this problem and reassure your children in the time period right after the conclusion of your divorce.
Do not sugar coat the situation if at all possible
The fact that you and your spouse are no longer living together will become evident to your children immediately. The questions that they ask you about this should also be dealt with directly as possible. It fair to tell your children that you and their other parent do not see eye to eye on some issues and that as a result you and he/she will no longer be living as married people.
The difficulty here will be to have this conversation without being overly specific and disrespectful of their other parent. Remember- your feelings about your spouse do not need to be (nor should they probably be) the feelings of your children. Allow them to form their own opinions based on their own intuition and experiences with each parent. In the meantime if you and your spouse show respect towards one another to your children they will be able to adjust to these changes that much easier.
What does co-parenting mean exactly?
Spring Divorce Lawyer: You have likely heard the term “co-parenting” before in reference to collaborating and cooperating with your ex-spouse when it comes to your children. It is a media buzzword that is often repeated, sometimes to the point where the original meaning behind the word has been lost. How can you define this word for the betterment of you and your family?
Co parenting basically breaks down into sharing the burdens and benefits of parenting children. Real life decisions regarding topics both big and small are of concern here. The food that you choose for your child to eat, the religious services that they attend and the extracurricular activities that they participate in are chosen by you. If you and your ex-spouse are in agreement on what is in the best interest of your children and how to make decisions that reinforce those interests then that is the definition of strong and effective co-parenting in my mind.
Is it realistic to expect you and your ex-spouse to agree on all aspects of parenting your children? No, but there is some co-parenting skills to be learned in working with your ex-spouse to meet in the middle when you have differences of opinion. It’s easier said than done to agree to disagree and then to compromise but that is the challenge and opportunity that you have in front of you as a divorced parent.
Figure out what is important and address those issues primarily
We all know that when it comes to parenting that there are some issues that are of extreme importance and others that are less important. If you spend your time arguing about every parenting issue that you and your ex-spouse disagree on then you will no time to actually do the important job of parenting. Especially in the beginning stages of your post divorce life it may be wise to give your ex-spouse some space to figure out their parenting style in whatever environment you find yourselves in.
While you’re at it, why not look for opportunities to defend and promote the parenting choices of your ex-spouse that you agree with. For instance, if you see that your ex-spouse is disciplining your child for bad behavior it is wise to continue that discipline at your home as well. This is the sort of consistency in parenting that is a hallmark of effective and loving co-parenting. In doing this you make your kids aware that there are not two sets of rules that apply to them and that discipline and love are going to be consistent from home to home.
What happens if your ex-spouse will not co-parent with you?
All of this is to say that co-parenting is effective if both parents are invested in the process and willing to commit to it. It could be that you find yourself in a situation where your spouse is not willing to work with you and instead chooses to go their own way when it comes to parenting your child. In situations like that the advice that I provided in prior sections of this blog will not be applicable for you. So what can you do to be an effective parent despite the roadblocks presented by an ex-spouse who is hostile in many regards?
For one, keep records regarding all of your interactions with your spouse. If they are on the phone you should keep a call log and a subject listing of what topics you discussed. Secondly, your text messages and emails should be logged in case they need to be utilized or referred to in the future.
The bottom line is that you should not use up your time by discussing issues with your ex-spouse that are not related to your children. If you get the impression that your spouse is simply attempting to relitigate your divorce with you it is smart to re-direct the conversation back towards your children. If he or she is not willing to discuss things with you in a civil and courteous manner I would suggest that you make it known that you will only be able to talk to him or her about emergency matters and necessary topics that are related to your children. This can save you time and sanity during a time when both will be in short supply.

Spousal Maintenance in Texas
If you want to related guideline confidentiality Texas Child Law experience, So you can better suggestions in Spousal Maintenance in Texas
The Woodlands Divorce Attorney: Unless children are involved in a divorce, the number one concern of parties is typically money. Who’s getting more of it and what can be done to limit their spouse from getting any more than they absolutely have to.
There are some spouses who are a little more rational and even-handed in terms of their willingness to just split the pie in two and walk away, but from my experience those situations are few and far between. Divorce is not a time for people to be rational thinkers, unfortunately.
Thus, having an experienced family law attorney on your side to help you walk through the difficult days of your divorce can be exceedingly important. Your attorney shouldn’t just be an expert on family law in Texas- he or she should be able to offer you candid, reason based advice during a time where your emotions and your ability to negotiate and work with your spouse is at an all time low.
You may be surprised to learn that the vast majority of divorces in Texas settle before getting to a trial. The reason has a lot to do with attorneys and their clients coming together to put aside their animosities and settle their case based on their own particular facts and circumstances.
One area that can draw the ire of many divorce participants is the subject of spousal maintenance. After going through a difficult and emotionally taxing divorce, the last thing many people want to think about is either paying money to your ex-spouse or relying upon your ex-spouse to help pay the bills in your home.
Be that as it may, Texas law does allow for spousal maintenance and it is something that you should be aware of before you file for divorce yourself.
Today I would like to discuss with you all a recent divorce case out of the Houston area that was appealed before one of our State appellate courts. The case, Willis v. Willis, can be looked up online with the citation No. 14-15-00913-CV.
It dealt with the award of spousal maintenance based on the ability of a spouse to present evidence which showed what their minimum basic needs were.
Background on the Willis family
The parties to this case were married in 1995 and had three children together. Two of the three children were special needs children, and the mother had medical issues as well that required advanced care. The mother also receives supplemental income from the Social Security Administration.
A divorce was filed by Mother and the case went to trial. Mother and father had been separated at the time of trial and the children were living with Mother. Ultimately, both Mother and Father testified and the court entered a Final Decree of Divorce after the trial concluded.
The father took issue with the results of the trial and appealed the judge’s verdict. The father argued that the court made an error in how it divided the community estate, in ordering the father to pay mother $972 in spousal maintenance each month, and finally that because mother only asked for a lump sum money judgment against the father or the spousal maintenance, she should not be able to collect both.
Since this blog is about spousal maintenance, let’s leave behind the property division question and focus our attention on the court’s analysis of the spousal maintenance award.
Spousal Maintenance on Appeal- How did the Court of Appeals rule?
Spring Divorce Lawyers: The father’s argument to the Court of Appeals basically went like this: the trial court made an error in awarding any spousal maintenance to the mother because she did not present sufficient evidenced to show that she would not be able to meet her minimum basic needs based on the property awarded to her in the divorce. Remember- she was on a fixed income with social security and was not able to work otherwise.
Just as an aside- although courts in Texas are empowered with the ability to award spousal maintenance as a result of a divorce, it is not common and judges typically do so only in fairly extreme circumstances.
Not only must the marriage must have lasted for more than ten years, but the spouse who is awarded spousal maintenance must lack any ability to provide for their minimum basic needs either by working or by the property awarded to him or her in the divorce.
The mother testified during the trial that she believed she was capable to providing for her and her children’s basic needs. This belief was made in large part due to her ability to live without having to pay rent at her mother’s house. Her expenses totaled nearly $1,500 per month based on information she provided the judge. Between child support and social security income for herself and her children she totaled about $2,500 in income.
All of this was in addition to the $60,000 awarded to her in the division of the marital estate.
When you take into consideration that the judge ordered the $60,000 was to be paid on a monthly basis at $1,000 per month, the money did not work out such that she would not be able to meet her and the kids’ basic monthly requirements without spousal maintenance.
It would be tight around her home, but that isn’t a consideration that the court is able to make when potentially awarding spousal maintenance.
Ultimately, the Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the father and the spousal maintenance award was done away with.
What can you take away from this case?
Given that this was a fairly recent case, and is from the fourteenth court of appeals in Houston you can expect that this standard will be followed in your southeast Texas divorce case.
Evidence must be fairly substantial to be awarded spousal maintenance in Texas, as this mother learned. If you wish to be awarded spousal maintenance it is in your best interest to work with your attorney early on to be able to prove what your monthly expenses are and to show how and why you are not able to meet those needs on your own.

The Push to end the No Fault Divorce in Texas
If you have need a best Law service, You can get better suggestions from The Push to end the No Fault Divorce in Texas with the great process!
Spring TX Divorce Lawyer: In a recent blog post, the attorneys with the Law Office of Bryan Fagan, PLLC discussed with you what a No Fault divorce is in Texas as opposed to a Divorce based on “Fault” grounds.
To sum it up quickly for those who missed that post (and we do encourage everyone who hasn’t read it to go back in our archives and do so) a divorce can be had in Texas by stating a Fault for the divorce (cruelty, abandonment, etc.) or by stating no specific ground at all- a “No Fault” divorce. No matter why you tell the court you want the divorce you can now get a divorce for a myriad of reasons or none at all.
However, one State Representative sought to change all that by filing a bill prior to this most recent legislative session that would eliminate the ability of a person to file for a divorce on a “No Fault” basis. This blog post will detail that bill, what its effect could be and the current status of the legislation.
Who is Matt Krause and what does his bill seek to accomplish?
Divorce Lawyer in Spring TX: The author of the aforementioned bill (titled House Bill 93) that intends to do away with the No Fault divorce is named Matt Krause. Mr. Krause is a Republican State Representative from Fort Worth whose motivation in filing the bill was to make it more difficult for married people to file for and get a divorce.
In forcing people to cite a specific reason why their marriage is no longer workable, Mr. Krause believed that families would be strengthened due to the heightened scrutiny a Court would pay to their Petition for Divorce.
No longer, the argument goes, would a person be able to file for divorce because he or she was annoyed with how their partner sings in the shower. Now there would have to be a truly egregious, specific reason for the marriage to end.
Families would stay together longer, reconciliation would be encouraged and our overburdened Courts would see their dockets decrease in size.
Rather than have me editorialize on anything that has to do with Mr. Krause’s opinions, here is what he told reporters in late 2016 just weeks before the 2017 legislative session kicked off:
“I don’t know if we don’t take our vows as seriously as we used to, but I think getting rid of the no-fault divorce piece of this may make folks concentrate on this a little harder before they enter into that relationship, or stick it out to where they can restore that relationship and the tough times in marriage,” he said.
“Stronger families lead to stronger children”, is not a saying that I think many people would disagree with. However, the question as presented to his fellow legislators is whether or not Mr. Krause’s solution is one that is in the best interest of those Texas families it aims to help.
Unintended side effects of the bill
Spring Divorce Lawyers: What Mr. Krause perhaps did not consider when he filed this bill (I should note that Mr. Krause filed a similar bill prior to the 2015 legislative session as well) is that in his attempt to strengthen marriages and enforce the sanctity of the commitment he may be pushing people to do things that are not good for them personally or their families long term.
Any divorce attorney can tell you that if a client cites a specific fault for the breakup of the marriage that usually means the case will head to trial due to the difficulty of settling before a judge has an opportunity to weigh in. Proving a specific fault can be difficult, which means that clients will spend more money to allow their lawyers to present a case that may result in the fault ground being awarded.
What eliminating no fault divorce may end up resulting in is the inability of people to dissolve a marriage on their terms in a manner that is fairly quick and relatively inexpensive. A no fault divorce allows married persons to utilize the courts to formally and amicably separate from one another and to settle on outcomes for their children and property.
On the other hand, if people are forced to file on fault grounds for divorce it is unlikely that we will see divorce rates fall dramatically. My opinion is that divorces would still be filed for at “normal” rates, just with people claiming false reasons for the breakup.
Effect on Low Income Texans
People that already have a difficult time as it is to afford proper legal representation may lack the wherewithal to remove themselves from a difficult marriage, hire a lawyer and prepare for a lengthy divorce in order to meet the fault grounds that would be necessary under Mr. Krause’s bill.
No fault divorces on the other hand allow for married people to remove themselves from an undesirable situation with relative ease and without a protracted legal battle.
Another group of people that may be harmed by the potential elimination of the no fault divorce are victims of domestic abuse. Ironically, abuse/cruelty is a fault ground for divorce but unless there is a substantial community estate at play or if the children of the marriage would be endangered by the abusive spouse there is less of a reason to file on this fault ground.
If the abused spouse would need to go toe to toe with their abuser in court this could make for an extremely uncomfortable and emotionally volatile situation that otherwise could be avoided.
End Result for House Bill 93
The Woodlands Divorce Attorney: Ultimately, Mr. Krause’s bill did not make it out of the Juvinile Justice and Family Issues Committee. No Fault divorce is still possible in the State of Texas and depending on your viewpoint this is either a good or bad thing.
Regardless, topics in law are ever changing especially in the area of family law and the need for strong, experienced representation is as important now as it ever has been.

Why Do Catholics Confess Their Sins to a Priest instead of Directly to God?
God knows I'm sorry, isn't that enough?
Why do Catholics confess their sins to a priest, rather than going directly to God?
Well, the quick answer is because that’s the way God wants us to do it. In James 5:16, God, through Sacred Scripture, commands us to “confess our sins to one another.” Notice, Scripture does not say confess your sins straight to God and only to God — it says confess your sins to one another.
In Matthew, chapter 9, verse 6, Jesus tells us that He was given authority on earth to forgive sins. And then Scripture proceeds to tell us, in verse 8, that this authority was given to “men”…plural.
In John 20, verses 21-23, what is the first thing Jesus says to the gathered disciples on the night of His resurrection? “Jesus said to them, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.'” How did the Father send Jesus? Well, we just saw in Matthew 9 that the Father sent Jesus with the authority on earth to forgive sins. Now, Jesus sends out His disciples as the Father has sent Him…so, what authority must Jesus be sending His disciples out with? The authority on earth to forgive sins. And, just in case they didn’t get it, verses 22-23 say this, “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.'”
Why would Jesus give the Apostles the power to forgive or to retain sins if He wasn’t expecting folks to confess their sins to them? And how could they forgive or retain sins if no one was confessing their sins to them?
The Bible tells us to confess our sins to one another. It also tells us that God gave men the authority on Earth to forgive sins. Jesus sends out His disciples with the authority on earth to forgive sins. When Catholics confess our sins to a priest, we are simply following the plan laid down by Jesus Christ. He forgives sins through the priest…it is God’s power, but He exercises that power through the ministry of the priest.
10 Tips from priests for a better Confession
Have you ever left the confessional wondering, "Did I do that right?"
I wish I could hear other people’s confessions.
Don’t worry, I’m not bugging the confessionals in the convent. I just think I would learn something from hearing how others go about it.
I’ve been partaking of the Sacrament of Penance for several years now but I still don’t feel like I know what I am doing. Sometimes I leave the confessional wondering, “Did I do that right? Should I have been more specific? Was I honest enough?”
The other day as I left confession, I thought, “I know, I will ask for some advice from the men who do hear other people’s confessions for a living!”
Here is what they said:
1. Fr. Bryan Brooks, Tulsa, OK
By doing an examination of conscience we are confronted with our sins, but when we go to confession we are confronted with God’s love, mercy, and forgiveness.
2. Fr. Sean Donovan, Pawhuska, OK:
After saying about how long it’s been since your last Confession, briefly tell the priest about yourself. (Are you single, dating, remarried, a religious sister?) If we know your situation, it helps us to counsel you.
3. Fr. Gabriel Mosher, OP, Portland, OR:
Sins are bad choices, not unpleasant emotions; so, confess your sins, not your emotional states.
4. Fr. Damian Ference, Wickliffe, Ohio
Sins committed are an offense to God, but sins confessed are a Canticle to God. So, when you confess your sins to a priest in the sacrament of reconciliation, know that you are also singing praise to God for his great mercy.
5. Fr. Matthew Gossett, Steubenville, OH
Frequent confession is edifying for your priest and good for your soul! Sins, especially deep-seated or habitual sins, require patience and persistence. Never give up, no matter how many times you’ve committed the same sin… confession is a sacrament of healing, and just like physical wounds, spiritual wounds can take some time to fully heal.
6. Father James Martin, SJ, New York, NY
Confession is not so much about how bad you are but about how good God is.
7. Fr. Anthony Gerber, Cottleville, Missouri
The priest is like a physician: when you go to the doctor, you tell him what has been hurting you and with more or less detail so that he knows how best to heal you. And remember: he has seen many patients with the same symptoms. Trust him, listen to his counsel, and you’ll get better soon!
8. Fr. Joshua Whitfield, Dallas, TX
God works best with a simple, humble confession of sins. God doesn’t need a novel. He’s read it already. Pride and impenitence sometimes hide beneath our many words. Speaking simply and plainly, naming our sins: it’s like being stripped for the Cross, for the death of our sins and the resurrection of forgiveness.
9. Fr. Jeffrey Mickler, SSP, Youngstown, OH
Just go, no matter what. God’s love is stronger than our sins.
10. Fr. Matthew Schneider, LC, Washington DC
For many people, the biggest improvement in confession would be switching from viewing it as an obligatory, abstract listing of sins to the renewal of a relationship with God.
And a bonus!
Fr. Mark Menegatti, O.S.A.
Confession is not just a removal of sin, it’s an encounter with Christ.
Were any of these tips helpful to you?
Tip #3 helped me to rethink how I do my examination of conscience and I realized that I probably should be more specific when listing my sins (not that God needs it but because it would be helpful to me). And all of these tips renewed my love for the Sacrament of Penance and for all priests who give their lives to serve God and his people.
If you have any other advice that you have found helpful, please share it with readers in the comments!

Military Divorces: Essential knowledge for Texas residents
Spring TX Divorce Lawyer: The rigors of military life are well known. Enlisting in the armed services on behalf of your country is one of the most selfless and courageous decisions a person can make. Deciding to put the lives of your fellow citizens before you own to step into a situation where your own well being is in question shows bravery and a sense of civic duty that we as civilians admire a great deal- and rightfully so. Being subjected to frequent movement across the country and even across the world can put a strain on your relationships- most notably the relationship between you and your spouse.
It is no wonder then that military families suffer from divorce with some regularity then. The ever changing nature of the lives of married servicemen and women can lead to a marriage relationship that isn’t always on the most solid of ground. Deploying into a warzone across the world or simply being moved from place to place with little notice can be quite stressful to even a healthy marriage.
Military divorces have unique elements and characteristics that civilian divorces do not, however. Hiring a one size fits all attorney to handle your military divorce is not a good idea. The difficult issues coupled with the emotions and stresses involved in the process require some advanced planning and care.
The attorneys with the Law Office of Bryan Fagan are proud supporters of our nation’s military men and women and are likewise just as proud to represent members of the armed services as clients of ours. The purpose of today’s blog post is to discuss some essential tidbits of knowledge that are specific to military divorces.
FEDERAL LAW AND STATE LAW ARE BOTH RELEVANT IN MILITARY DIVORCES
Spring Divorce Lawyer: For the most part, divorces for residents of Texas are governed by the laws associated with divorce in Texas. That should come as no surprise. There are federal laws that are relevant to retirement division in divorce and things of that nature, but for the most part we look to the Texas Family Code for guidance in divorcing persons in Texas....
