Shouta Aizawa x reader
You sighed as you pulled off your long black wig and set it on its stand. "hey Affi," you cooed as your cat jumped on the bathroom counter to greet you. "let me just take off my makeup and I'll get you dinner." You gave her a kiss on the head as you scratched behind her ears, making her purr loudly. You watched yourself in the mirror as you wiped off your lipstick and eyeliner, silently noting everything you'd have to change for tomorrow. It was your first day at UA and you'd be lying if you said you weren't scared shitless. You put food in Affi's dish and a little more water in her bowl before throwing together a lunch and breakfast-to-go and throwing both in your mini fridge. Finally, you stretched as you laid down on your bed. Affi jumped up and curled up against your side as you turned on light classical music to help you sleep and your alarms to make sure you didn't miss your first day.
You stood at the front gate with anticipation. You choose not to wear your wig and instead showed your short light purple hair. You wore a plain dust mask with the excuse of bad allergies and anxiety, but it was really to hide your face. You took a deep breath, hitched your backpack up and started into the building. Class 1-A. You waere a few minutes early, quickly finding a seat at the back of the room. You took out your notebook and a pen and waited with anticipation. You were surprised when the teacher walked in caring a sleeping bag. Jeez, he looks as tired as you feel, but there was a rugged charm about him that caught your attention. 'Shuota Aizawa, I like it. Wait, fuck, what am I thinking? I shouldn't even be thinking about that, he's my teacher, he just sees a high schooler and it needs to stay that way.’ You let out a quiet, frustrated sigh, mussing your hair under your hat so it covered your eyes more.
We were all led outside to do physical tests to test the limits of our quirks. Of course, you were at a disadvantage from everyone else, your quirk is mental. You effectively failed the combat part of the entrance exam but aced the written portion. You got pulled into a meeting after the entrance exams where your quirk was tested, and they accepted you. Now we’re supposed to use our quirks to show how physically powerful or strong we are? This is stupid. You gotta be honest, you’ve heard rumors that Aizawa is a tough but good teacher, but this is disappointing. How can he be a teacher here and not understand that not every powerful quirk is physical? Nevertheless, you held your own in most of the tests, you’re not a slob so you were above average in many areas so far. Mr. Aizawa’s words echoed in your head during these tests. ‘I was going to be expelled on the first day. Maybe if I can just do better than Midoriya…’
“F/N L/N.” Mr. Aizawa stopped you as you were walking up to take your turn on the long jump.
“Yes, sir?” You lowered your head but kept eye contact with his as he spoke.
“You don’t need to hold back your quirk in these tests, you can do what you need to do to perform your best.” He spoke in what we quickly learned was his trademark bored tone.
“With all due respect,” You broke eye contact and looked at the ground in front of you. “these tests are unfairly biased to people with physically powerful quirks. Not all powerful or useful combat quirks are physical.”
“What is your quirk exactly, your file only says ‘Soul capture’, explain it.”
“I can take someone’s soul out of their body and hold it captive in my mind. Conversely I can also force my own soul into someone else’s body and control it as my own.” The class filled with murmurs as people talked about your quirk, but you couldn’t quite hear what they were saying.
“Hmm.” Mr. Aizawa thought for a moment before turning to the class causing them to silence instantly. “Does anyone want to volunteer to lend Miss L/N their body?”
“Wait, what!?” You yelp in shock. The class stayed quiet for a moment before Iida stepped forward.
“I’ll do it, it would be very interesting to see personally how this works.” He said standing tall.
“Good, L/N, lets see what you can do.” Mr. Aizawa stepped back as Iida approached you.
“What happens to me when you . . . possess me?”
“U-um, it’s like going to sleep for you, you won’t remember anything. A-are you sure you’re okay with this? I mean, I can figure it out myself if you don’t fee-“
“It’s okay Y/N, just don’t kill me,” he gave a halfhearted chuckle, but you could tell he was a little nervous about this.
“I promise I won’t.” You reach up and put a hand on his shoulder, activating your quirk.
Third person POV
The class watched in anticipation as Y/N put her hand on Iida’s shoulder and her eyes turned black with glowing red iris’s. Without warning, Y/N’s body went limp as Iida effortlessly caught her in one arm before he looked at the other, balling his hand into a fist and stretching his fingers out again. He gently laid Y/N’s body on the ground before walking to the start line and quickly stretching his legs. The class watched him get in position, close his eyes with a deep breath, before running even faster than he was before and taking a leap. They watched in amazement as he jumped much further than his first jump, but it wasn’t really Iida, it was Y/N in there doing the jumping.
“Woah, she did better in Iida’s body than he did in his own body!” Uraraka exclaimed.
“Good, now give Iida his body back.” Mr. Aizawa stated as he made scribbles in a folder,
Y/N walked back over to her unconscious body and got down on her knees before Iida’s body slumped and Y/N’s body started moving again.
Iida groaned slightly before looking around. “Did something go wrong? Did it not work?”
“It worked just fine, L/N told you that you wouldn’t remember anything.” Mr. Aizawa stated before calling up the next person.
Reader POV
You told Iida what you had done while you were possessing his body as the rest of the class continued the long jumps. You explained the ergonomics of what you had done compare to his own jump as well as a few other tips to make his movements even more efficient.
“I never thought about doing it quite like that, I’ll be sure to remember that. Thank you, Y/N.”
Class finished smoothly after that, Mr. Aizawa didn’t pressure you to possess anyone else for the tests which you were thankful for, you don’t like possessing others unless you must. The whole class was relieved when Mr. Aizawa said he was bluffing when he said he was going to expel the student in last place.
“Miss L/N, I need to speak with you.” He stated as everyone gathered their belongings to leave. Well crap, that’s never a good sign. Even you knew that, and this is your first time going to school. You slowly approach his desk as the last of your classmates exit the room. “Relax L/N, I’m not going to bite you (OH WHAT A LIE!!! Sry). I wanted to talk to you about your quirk and this class.”
“Yes sir?”
“I want to make sure you realize you are going to have to work harder than your classmates in a lot of areas because your quirk is not physical. Are you going to be okay with that?”
“Yes sir, I know my quirk isn’t flashy or anything, but I’m still determined to stay at UA no matter what’s thrown at me. And you’re proof that you don’t need a showy quirk to be a pro hero.” I looked down as my face headed up. Am I blushing? Thank god for this mask! You look up and to your surprise Mr. Aizawa was trying to hide a light blush on his own face.
“Good, well as long as you know this won’t be easy for you. I’ll see you tomorrow then.” He stood up grabbing a stack of papers and left the room.
Did he blush at my compliment? He’s probably not used to compliments, he’s so cold to everyone they probably don’t try to talk to him much unless they need to. You wonder how he’d react to a more direct compliment, what would go through his mind? You shook your head and tried to clear the thoughts of him. You look at your watch. Yeah, I got time to stop for food before getting ready for work.
Aizawa POV
This has never been an issue for me. That felt like an honest comment of admiration which I don’t often deal with so directly. But what’s really causing me an issue is the feelings stirred inside of me, they’re unfamiliar and I don’t like that. Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m not a pervert or pedo, but something is different about her. She’s very… mature. She may look 15 or 16 especially with that mask and her shy act but there’s no way she’s actually that young. That mask somehow makes her shy act a lot more adorable… wait WHAT?? NO! Stop thinking about that you idiot and do your work!!
I grunted as I hit my head on the table before running my hand through my hair and pulling the stack of papers closer to me.
Your POV
You finish stuffing the food in your mouth as you slip into the bar, holding your long cloak shut and clutching your bag to your chest. The bar wasn’t open for the night yet, so you relaxed as you headed for the stairs.
“Oh Y/N” you hear the velvet baritone voice sing.
“Not now Haru, I need to get ready for work.” I called behind me as I ran down the stairs.
“Then I’ll help, darling we both know if I let you dress yourself, you’d look homeless.” He said as he followed.
Is it possible to be any more of a queen? You thought to yourself. “Fine, only cuz I don’t want to hear your comments all night.” You say as you took off your mask, hat, cloak and start undoing your uniform. You had no issues getting undressed in front of Haruto Takumi, I mean why would it bother you? He is your designated gay best friend after all. Plus, he’s right, you have no sense of style. He’s also the only one that knows you falsified records to get into UA and is all in with helping you lead your double life. You know full well it’s partially for selfish reasons though.
“Soooooooo?” He asks excitedly as he pulls out a monster truck shirt with a methodically torn back and a pair of ripped skinny jeans.
“Sooo?” You ask playing dumb.
Haru dramatically throws the clothes down on the bed as you head to the bathroom to ready your wig. “Did you get to see him? All Might? Is he as breathtaking in person? How tall is he? How big is he? Not down there, I wanna find that out on my own, I mean like his muscles, his pecks, are his abs really like a washbo-“
“DUDE! You really need to get yourself a boyfriend. Seriously, I’m not answering those questions for you.” You say, stepping out with your long, wavy black wig now secured on your head.
“Ugh, can you at least get a picture with him so I can get an idea?”
“He’s five foot four in real life.” You state bluntly as you pulled the shirt on.
“WHAT?? NO, THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE!” Haru looked heartbroken for a second before you burst out laughing.
“We haven’t met him yet, but you should have seen your face just now.”
“You bitch. You can finish getting yourself ready for that. You know you have to sing tonight right? Did you get the setlist?” He asked from the door.
“Yeah, thanks.” You grumbled. You really love singing and music, but you’re expected to sing a specific … kind of music (think in this moment, blood, whore, sick like me, ect.). You have fun performing but you wish the music was almost anything except that stuff, it grinds at you after a while not to mention the strain on your voice to scream all the time. Your primary job here is security, with your efficient hand to hand combat skills not to mention your quirk, the owner was practically begging you to work for him after seeing you in an underground fight. ‘You’re pretty, you look pretty harmless, and you can quickly take down a bunch of aggressors, exactly what I need.’ Was more or less what he said. You said sure and started working there after your 18th birthday so it was all legal. That was almost two years ago now and you couldn’t believe it. You hummed to Affi as you put your lip ring back in and applied makeup before giving her a small snack and heading to work.

Schemes ~ pt. 2
A/N: Okay, okay. Now this one is pretty different from all of mine writing but I really like it. Like really like it so don’t judge me on it if it’s not all deep writing stuff. Also the gif is the closest thing I found to what I was looking for but it does show a familliar scene on it. I didn’t mean to make part two but I think it was requested an I really like the reader soo......enjoy

You felt so dizzy at the moment. The awful taste of Polyjuice potion was still present on your tongue and how come the ground was so much further away?
"(Y/n)? Are you okay?" You heard Severus through the door. "Did it work?"
Looking down on yourself, you noticed long arms and black curls falling in front of your eyes. You felt taller, lighter and what was that between your le- "Oh my God."
"What?! What's wrong?" Severus started to get worried.
You burst out the door, opening your arms and walking towards Severus. " I'm a man!" You chirped and spun around with your Gryffindor robes following you.
Severus took a big sigh of relief and smiled at you.
"Snivellus." You said in Sirius' voice, glaring at Severus before bursting into laughter. " Mumble, jumble, stumble, crumble." You continued and looked over to Severus, who quirked an eyebrow at you. " I always wanted to hear him say that."
"It's odd seeing you in his body." Severus simpered.
"It feels odd too. I'm taller and have bigger hands and even longer arms. And my hair.." you ran your fingers through those soft dark curls." Oh my God, Severus. You have to touch them."
"I will not." He quickly stepped back.
"They are so soft. Like I am running my fingers through dark fluffy clouds.” You continued to run your hands through those locks. "No wonder he touches his hair so much."
"Just let's go find Lilly." Severus added and smiled maliciously at you. " I need to see this."
----
The two of you walked together down an empty hall and after a while, he left your side before the bell rang. It was probably for the best. Seeing Sirius Black and Snape walking together would be a cause of never-ending of rumors.
So you waited for the Gryffindors to come out of their History of Magic class, trying to find one specific red head. And when she finally came out with her friends, you put your best Sirius look you could pull and walk after her.
" Good morning, Evans." You started with a simple smirk, wrapping your arm around her.
"Black, what on earth do you think you are doing?" She glared at you and pushed your arm away.
" Ouch. Now I know how James feels. " you said offended, placing your hand on your chest. " But let me ask you this Mrs.Evans. Am I really Sirius Black or am I not Sirius Black?" You wiggled your eyebrows at her.
"What is that supposed to-" she stopped talking as soon as she realized who she was looking at this very moment. "No!" She gasped and put her hand on your cheeks, turning it left and right. "(Y/n)?" She whispered quietly.
"In the flesh." You smiled.
"I thought you were joking."
"Joking?" You scoffed and took a step forward. " Now where’s the fun in that?" You stepped even closer, chest to chest, nose to nose and looking down at her, watching as she fell out of breath.
Wow. Being Sirius Black was definitely something. You just witnessed Lilly Evans speechless and blushing because of your looks.
Realizing she was not speaking to the real Sirius Black, she shook her head and stepped back. "Oh, you're good." She smiled.
"No, darling. I'm better."
----
In all of your thirty minutes of this new body, you managed to piss off three professors, Filch, eight to eleven students and around three to thirteen girls.
Amazing.
But there was somebody you wanted to piss off especially. James Potter.
It was hard getting him alone since the real Sirius Black is always with him but now Remus made sure to start your plan.
" Prongs!" You beamed and walked towards James and Peter. " Wormtail!" You shouted once again, placing yourself next to James.
"What did you do now?" James shook his head and looked at you.
"I haven't done a single thing..yet." you winked before turning to the red head a few seats down. " Evans. You look lovely today. Planning to go out with my Jamie, finally."
She knew, you knew and Severus next table knew. This is going to be one hell of a performance.
" Actually I was planning to go out with somebody else." she smirked and looked back down at her plate.
"Who?!" James suddenly got more interested in your conversation with Lilly.
" Just some guy who is helping me with this assignment. "
You felt the evil bubbles trying to burst out of you and cackle at James' sudden tensing up. Sliding over to her and leaning forward, you smiled and started flirting. " Is he handsome?"
"Knock dead gorgeous." She bit her lip.
" Charming?" You grinned.
" As a prince." She continued to swoon.
" Where did you meet him? " you leaned even more forwards, your nose almost touching hers.
" Potions." She bit her lower lip once again.
"Mate!" James snapped, getting completely infuriated by this.
"What? " you played innocent, turning your head towards him and grinning. " I'm just asking the questions. "
"Well, stop!"
"Stop what?" You placed an evil smirk on your lips and then pointed to Lilly in front of you. " You mean this?" You asked before pulling Lilly closer and starting to kiss her.
Even though the kiss was never in your plan, she kissed you back. It was like any other kisses. Loving, passionate and one hell of a long kiss.
You pulled away from it, brushing your thumb over her lips and smiling. "Wish me luck, darling." And with that, you jumped on your feet and started running.
James was right behind you and as much as you thought he would catch on, he didn't. Your new body was faster, with longer steps, and definitely with more strength. The last thing you knew you were jumping over benches and sliding under students, laughing maliciously as you did.
" You’re dead, Sirius!" He shouted from behind and pulled out his wand, sending a blast your way.
Dodging it, you turned around and smiled. " Throwing hex's now, huh Prongs?"
"You kissed her! You knew how much I like her and you kissed her!"
" You took too long and somebody had to do it." you winked at him but he only made another hex come your way.
Dodging it once again, you prepared yourself to run but instead, you crashed into another boy.
James smiled and quickly ran after you, preparing his wand to shoot once again.
"Oi! Watch where you're going." Said the boy you bumped into, rubbing the back of his head before looking at you.
His eyes went wide as well as yours.
You know, from all the boys you could have crashed into, you crashed right into him.
"I've got you now!" James smiled and pointed his wand at you.
"Prongs?" Said Sirius next to you, his eyes furrowing at his best friends.
“ Not now, Sirius.” he replied, glancing at him then back at you. “ Wait, what?”
"Prongs, what in the bloody hell are you doing?!" You shared the same amount of surprise as the boy next to you.
James' eyes traveled from one Sirius to another. "Wha-? "
" Who the hell are you?!" The both of you said unison, pointing at each other.
" Which one is the real Sirius?" James asked and pointed his wand at the two of you.
"I am!" You both said in unison once again. " No, you are not!" The two of you continued. "Stop doing that!"
" This is trippy." James spoke, lowering his wand and scratching the back of his neck.
" Come on, James. You can't believe that this, whoever this is, is your best friend." Sirius stood up and looked at his best friend.
Okay, it's time to pull the big Sirius Black pants on.
"Whoever this is!?" You gasped and stood up as well. "WHOEVER this is? Do you know who you are talking to?"
"Oh, you're good." Sirius pointed his finger at you.
‘ Well, of course, I am. ‘ you thought, showing him a small smirk before turning back to James.
" Padfoot!" Shouted another boy running down your way " Oh shit." he mumbled under his breath as he saw two of Sirius Blacks standing there.
"Moony! Tell me you know it's me!" Sirius spoke.
"Don't believe a word he says Moony. It's me!" You continued to play your part. “ I am not as desperate as him to prove I am Sirius Black.”
“ EXCUSE ME! I am not desperate!” he argued back.
To be honest, your acting was so good even Remus himself didn't know who was the real Sirius.
"Okay! There is only one way to fix this. Tell us something only Sirius would know."
"Ha! Easy." You bluffed.
"Oh no, you won't. " Sirius overstepped. " I caught you stealing Lilly's perfume two days ago and Remus keeps sleep swooning over (y/n)(y/l/n) from the Slytherin house."
"Sirius no!" Remus immediately yelled, looking over at you with a small blush creeping on his cheeks.
" You fancy m- I mean (y/n)?" You looked at him and smiled.
"That settles it." James said and pulled out his wand.
"Wait wait wait. You haven't heard me yet." you tried to buy yourself some time, watching as Sirius glared at you, James only nodding right beside him. “ Okay then.” you glanced at each of them, your hands sneaking their way to your waist. "Expeliarmus!" You shouted and his wand flew from his hand, giving you a head start to run.
"That bastard!' Both Sirius and James cursed under their breath and ran after you.
And you ran as fast as you could but suddenly felt yourself getting slower and shorter. "Oh thank god." You panted and started losing your tie and getting rid of your robes.
Your (y/h/c) hair started falling in front of you and you only stopped, turned around and started walking back.
Soon after your heart rate calmed down, you heard footsteps coming your way and you only lift your head up.
"Where did he go?" Said James and stopped to look around.
"Bloody hell." Cursed Sirius and picked up the Gryffindor tie from the ground.
Noticing you walking all al9ne in this empty corridor, James felt suspicious. "Oi,(y/n)!" He shouted behind, causing you to stop and turn around.
“What is it now, Potter." You tried to hold your heart rate low, trying not to show you just ran around the entire school.
"Have you perhaps seen anybody running here?"
"Perhaps, I did."
" Do you know where he went?"
"In the matter of fact I did and he's standing right next to you." You looked over at Sirius and winked. "I heard about Lilly and you. Nice move." you smirked and turned to James who only gritted his teeth.
"Lilly and me?" Sirius asked, furrowing his eyebrows. " What are you talking about?"
"Always, such a charmer you are." You ignored his questions and looked at James who was just growing redder. " Anyways, boys. I have to go. Nice seeing ya." You gave them a military glare and walked away.
You heard some mumbling before a big shout came from behind.
" I KISSED WHO KNOW!?!"

Blue Moon
Happy Halloween!
I’ll be reblogging my Stray series and hope to post A Little Magic today or by the end of the week. Stay safe this All Hallow’s Eve.
#Fun Fact: A blue moon is caused by dust particles in the atmosphere making it look blue. Another definition is a second full moon in a month. A full moon on Halloween is a blue moon. The next full moon on Halloween will be in 2020. .
.
.
They say that everyone has two wolves inside them: a good and an evil. The good represents all the hope, love, and positive. The evil, everything negative like hate, envy, self doubt. They are at war, clawing and snarling in every person.
It is also said that the one that is fed regularly is the one that wins.
Her mother didn’t exactly tell her about the wolves, mostly because Lucy was afraid of the Big Bad Wolf in the stories, but she did tell her of the battle between good and evil: Letting love win, always.
Love, trust, acceptance, and hope.
It was how Lucy tried to live her life, even after her Mama’s death.
However, old tales of wolves and good vs. evil never revealed truths; exact, crystal clear truths. Lucy loved fairy tales for the good story and the morals behind them. She also loved wise tales.
Halloween was just a normal day for her when she was young. Her Papa never let her go out trick-or-treating but her Mama and her had dress-up parties and put on plays. Together, they raided the kitchens with silk pillowcases, bringing joy to the chefs as each one put a treat inside. It wasn’t normal, but it was enough for Lucy. There weren’t many children around her gated neighborhood, most of the neighbors too successful or busy for parenting.
But, this time, Halloween was special, very special.
Her first year of college had been going well, classes a drag but she expected as much as an honors student. Most of her time was devoted to studying or doing projects to succeed at her 18 credit load. Honestly, she missed sleeping.
What made today of all days special was her friends. Back in August, when she had no knowledge of the town or of the dorm, Lucy was certain she’d be alone like all the other times. That was when she met Levy, her roommate. A diligent looking, blue haired girl with kind eyes and a bright smile. It wasn’t what she expected but they got along fine.
Then Levy introduced her to Erza and Lisanna, who then introduced Gray and Natsu, who then introduced Gajeel and Loke…
It kind of got out of hand. In the week before classes even started, Lucy had met about half of her future graduating class AND half of the class before them. Lucy would never dare complain about having too many friends but it took effort and careful balancing to maintain them and school.
Especially Natsu.
If she had to chose one word to describe him, it would be loyal.
Another would be obnoxious but she liked to be positive.
As a fire science major, she expected more reserve from him, but then he wouldn’t be Natsu, her best friend. The best friend that likes to break into her dorm and steal her hot chocolate packets.
Anyway, one of her friends-
It was exciting just thinking about them
-was throwing a halloween party.
Plus, this halloween was during a full moon! A halloween under a blue moon. A smile came to her lips.
It quickly fell, however, once she recalled one thing wrong.
She was lost in the woods, on this special Halloween night using the moon as her light, looking for her lost best friend.
The party started off well enough. She and Levy arrived late, about five o'clock, to see everyone else already there. The music wasn’t too loud, the snacks were full, and everyone was in costumes. A grand old time, as her grandfather would put it.
Having a blast, eating enough candy to regret later, and trying not to fall into one of Cana’s pranks, she was sure this was a halloween she would never forget.
It didn’t escape her notice that some of her friends were acting a little weird, Natsu in particular. He wasn’t eating. He wasn’t fighting with Gray. He kept checking the clock or frantically asking the time after only moments had passed since the last he questioned. It was passable with Gajeel, who was crankier than usual. It was out of sorts for Natsu.
She asked him if he was feeling sick and his eyes looked darker as he shrugged.
“Something like that.” he had replied gruffly, scratching at his head far more vigorously than she'd ever seen.
He started pacing right before sunset, looking more frazzled and agitated than she ever remembered seeing him.
Then, just as everyone started shouting ‘Happy Halloween’ and tossing candy, he bolted like a racehorse out of the gates. She wasn’t sure how he moved so quickly but the next second he was out in the yard, leaping the fence and vanishing into the woods. She only saw the flash of his red dragon tail on his costume disappear over the fence as she gave chase.
Trust the fire science major to out parkour the english major.
It took her a total of 30 seconds after calling his name and starting a scene before trying to clamber up after him. It took her twice as long to get to the top, her boots slipping on the metal. Jeez, how many rumors is she going to have to deal with tomorrow?
The chain links sliced at her sleeve, catching her bicep with a sharp trail that immediately began to bubble with spots of blood. Ignoring the throb of pain, she hoisted her body over the fence, nearly eating it as she fell on the other side. Then she ran through the woods blindly, not thinking about anything but finding Natsu before something bad happened to him. Never mind she was now also lost in the woods.
An owl hooted overhead, startling Lucy from her deep thoughts. Night had fallen now, the moon still rising above the canopy of the trees. Maybe it was because it was All Hallows’ Eve but Lucy had the major creeps.
It felt like she was being watched.
Her skin tingled as she could feel a pair of eyes on her, her hands pulling her red cloak closer. It was all so laughable. She dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and then got herself lost in the woods.
“Hello?” she called out, turning her head left and right. “Natsu?”
Silence answered her, a soft breeze rustling the branches of the trees. The colorful leaves on the ground began to flutter, some taking flight into the shadows. Some crunched, sounding like a gunshot in the silence.
“Who’s there?” she snapped sharply, whirling around so fast that her cloak nearly tripped her.
The wind died down, revealing the soft noise of a twig snapping, a low rumble following.
Lucy swallowed thickly, feeling a bead of sweat trailed down her temple. Okay, so something was out there, watching her. Her self defense course never covered getting stalked by animals in the woods but she assumed it was the same principle.
“If you're some creep, I think you should just go back to where you came from. I don’t have time to deal with you. My friend is missing.” She hoped her voice sounded as fierce as she was trying to make it sound. If it came down to it, Natsu could handle himself in the woods. She wasn’t made to fight cougars or wolves.
Her heart seized and her back ached from how she tensed at the answering growl from the shadows, just feet from her left and behind a tree.
Okay, it was time to leave Natsu’s ass in the woods.
She shifted, moving to step away but froze when a hoarse voice spoke into the dark night.
“...L...Lucy?” It was rough, but almost certainly Natsu’s voice.
“Oh my gosh thank goodness-” she breathed, clutching her cloak over her heart and sighing. That much bravery and bluffing had to have made her lose about five pounds in sweat alone! “I was worried-”
She heard a breath, much deeper and huskier than she ever heard, like the snort of a horse...or the sneeze of a large dog. Was there something else out there? Oh, she hoped not.
“You...shouldn’t have come.” Natsu said then, absolutely no mirth or typical light in his tone. He sounded...exhausted? Scolding her wasn’t in his repertoire, but he was now.
That made her blood boil.
“Excuse me? When you run off like that, of course I’m going to follow! I was worried about you!” Now she was yelling in the middle of a forest, in the dark. If any creatures didn’t know they were here, they knew now.
Her scolding echoed for a while before silence returned, Lucy straining her ears to hear anything of the man hiding in the shadows.
There was a shift behind the tree and then Natsu sighed in that deep way once more. “Thanks Lucy. For everything, really. You’re always looking out for me.” The wind came again, shifting the branches to cast fleeting moonlight on the base of the trunk, and the illuminated shadow behind. “But you need to go back. I’ll be behind you soon.”
“Uh, no? I’m not leaving you in the woods when you have an 8am class tomorrow!” If he was thinking about skipping because he had a late night in the woods doing whatever he was doing, he had another thing coming.
“Lucy, leave.” Natsu barked. Literally barked the last word.
Her legs burned from how fast and hard she leaped back, hitting a tree in her haste. “Natsu?” she whispered, clutching the cloak tighter around her. Fear froze her as she listened to the quiet, yet unmistakable sounds of his panting. Panting.
Her feet went on autopilot. One step after another, she circled the tree at a fair distance, eyes fixated on the shadow under the overhanging branches. Speckles of moonlight filtered down, dotting the figure once hidden to her.
It wasn’t connecting. The dots weren't adding up. Natsu had pink hair...not russet. Natsu had hair on his head...not his entire body.
He was a man...not a fluffy, long snouted animal with claws and fangs. But, that was what was behind the tree that his voice came from.
Dark eyes watched her in horror as she stared, maw parted to reveal a mouth full of teeth. Standing on four legs, a wolf stared at her with the equivalent of a ‘deer in the headlights’ look. It was huge, around the size of a motorcycle, and it had familiar onyx eyes.
“Oh...my God-” she whispered, hands moving to her mouth as her jaw dropped.
The wolf, however possible, looked even more panicked, turning to her and spoke, “Don’t freak out!”
It was Natsu’s voice.
Lucy was certain she lost her damn mind, believing that a talking wolf and Natsu had anything in common.
She took a step back, then another. The wolf made to follow, pausing when she inhaled sharply. “Okay, take a deep breath Lucy. You look like you’re about to have a panic attack.”
True. She was absolutely having a panic attack right now. There wasn’t enough air in the world to help stop her dazed dizziness, her throat hurting from breathing hard and fast.
“Oh my God, you’re a damn furry.” she wailed in horror, stepping back and shrieking when her boot caught on something, sending her tumbling back.
Pain erupted in the back of her head, Natsu’s cry of her name muffled and tinted with slight offense.
Good. Because being a werewolf was okay...being a damn furry was not. That was the last thought she managed before the world was lost to her.
The End
P.S: Did you really think I would write a serious Halloween fic? Trick or treat, you got the TRICK!
