I come from a family of singers, and while I didn’t inherit the Actually Good at Singing gene, I used to love singing anyway. I’ve always been an alto, and my deeper voice was always a point of pride for me! I was into musical theatre, and when I would actually be cast, I’d find as many loopholes as possible to sing lower than I was supposed to. I wanted to be a Broadway actress. But I wanted to play women’s and men’s roles. I wanted to be known as the woman who could be a man just as easily and just as flawlessly.

But after a, uh, particular incident at a singing contest, I realized just how much I actually sucked and swore off singing for the rest of my life; I’ve been slowly allowing myself to sing again through my twenties, but never where others can hear.

While my speaking voice hasn’t dropped as much since starting T, my singing voice has. I’ve been testing my low range by singing the opening of The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg and seeing how many notes I can actually hit, and I’ve been kinda dissatisfied, because I still can’t hit the bottom notes. But as of late I’ve found myself cranking off into musical theatre pieces whenever I’m alone and cleaning or driving or what have you, and the more I go through, the more I realize my voice is, at present, so much closer to the voice I always wanted growing up.

While cleaning the windows at work, I cranked off on the most hilariously passionately rendition of Who I’d Be, which has always been one of my favorites, but one I could never sing; it went too low, and raising the key took it too high outside of my range. Now? I can hit every last note. Not well, of course, but I never once struggled in the lows. Now I can’t stop singing it, because I’ve wanted to sing it since I was thirteen and now I finally can and I’m needlessly emotional over it.

I dunno. It’s just nice. This is the first time I’ve felt happy about my voice since I was in middle school, and it’s empowering in an odd sorta way.

Batfam AU where Jason never dies, so Tim doesn't join the family the standard way. Instead, he continues pouring most of his time and energy into his photography, eventually becoming known as a popular photographer for events and all that. So now, picture this: Tim gets hired to be a photographer for a Wayne gala. Obviously, he's ecstatic, because he can take pictures of Batman, Robin and Nightwing and be in their presence for a whole night. Since Tim is so naturally talented in stealth and taking pictures unnoticed, the second one of the fam realises this they're like: this kid is good. Tim manages to go unnoticed by all 3 of them (all bat-trained, one literally batman) multiple times during the night, and even when he is noticed, he disappears before they can manage to get a good look at him; to the sheer amazement of Dick and Jason.

Jason, (very discreetly putting snacks in his suit pocket): i know you're under the table, kid.

Tim: don't mind me, Mr. Todd-Wayne, sir, just taking a few pictures

Jason: right... Jason's fine, and what pictures were you taking from under the table?!

Tim, showing him perfectly good shots of him: these.

Jason: how did you get that. it looks like you took it from the rafters

Cue an entire night of shenanigans where it's just Dick, Jason and Bruce trying to catch Tim and learn about him. Upon finding out who he is and where he lives, Dick immediately asks to keep him as an honorary member of the family. Jason is hesitant at first but at some point Tim calls Bruce Batman instead of Mr. Wayne on accident and Jason laughs so hard he's basically won over. Bruce can do nothing but watch as Tim proceeds to come over almost every night for sleepovers and is coddled by both of his sons. And he can't deny, the kid's investigation and stealth skills are top tier. By the time Dick and Jason both start referring to Tim as 'their younger brother' Bruce has just accepted his fate.

okay, like the world fight is so much fun and i’m so glad i pushed myself to get caim 5*’d so i could do it. i was concerned it might be difficult. and then i was concerned the + version would be difficult. but it was great! i have to imagine part of what made it not scary was caim himself (at lv 95+). using sandy to make the boss have turns of elemental friction while trying to get threo knocked out so caim could come in with the fool upright and give EVERYONE suit stacks. the biggest deal being those diamond stacks that are just a permanent water switch. the spade stacks are nice too so even when elemental friction is off, the hits are still weak point hits (the seraphic boosts from weapon/summon don’t apply tho). the healing specs are insane, but we’re barely taking any damage. the ONE time we took big damage was when I didn’t know the + version of the fight had a SECOND terminal crisis trigger at 20%, so I didn’t have Galleon’s plain damage saved for it. So... we all got hit with 70% plain damage of our current hp. But it was completely negligible bc Beginning of Joker was off cooldown, so I cast vita brevis for an over 5000 heal (may have been 6k at that point, if not it was close), and then copied and skill and caim healed us for over 9000 hp ( ´•̥̥̥ω•̥̥̥` ) over 9000 jfc (well except for sandy lol. he had to suffer with low hp bc he can only be healed by his measly 1000 hp a turn innate deaths grace) and that was before I went and realized, oh i finished all the domain boosts on caim but i never filled in the other 9* of his emp (only ever did his crit nodes and the em skill). so i dumped 6 into the two heal nodes and the put the rest in defense (i am very rarely trigging club trick for the delay and when i do the timing is always annoying as fuck, so i don’t think the debuff success nodes have any use, esp since he’s getting switch in activating his sup skill + his domain bonus ability so he’s likely to have max stacks of club very fast which gives him 50% debuff success at max). Before those nodes boy had 70% boost to healing specs, now he should have 110%. I am interested to see how the fight goes once the event is over, bc I did have the extra 20% ATK, 20% HP, 10% DMG Cap from the event. the damage out put for my earth in the arcarum is insane. anyways. i’m gunna go try and kill the eletion glider a bunch more times bc apparently that’s how i unlock the other two 25% special c.a. dmg cap up in the universal guid book. hitting 9.9 mil with the 50% increase on the hard cap is not enough. i crave more.

On the bus the other day I saw the fuckin cutest tiniest most adorable little Chihuahua ever in a lil pet backpack and I would LOVE to get a Chihuahua (from a shelter, mix is fine I knew someone with a corgi Chihuahua mix and Bert was adorable). Granted I dont think my cats would like that much and I'd have to reorganize like. My whole life for the dog, but if I ever move to a bigger place and end up with the opportunity to shop around for another pet (I'd love a rat, but I don't think it would be good to keep a rat when I know Mrs Jackson would do everything in her power to kill it 🥲🥲🥲). I've considered a beta fish too, that's kind of useful because it's also cat entertainment, but again bigger place needed lol. I'm not putting the fish in a teeny tiny ass tank that'd fit my place when the tank should fit for the FISH if course

Anyway the Chihuahua was fuckin adorable and they seem like quite chill dogs. Bet 10$ watching me try to deal with a dog would be hilarious because every time I do I get confused because I'm so used to Cat Lingo, and that's not how dogs work even if all animals like to give Cursory Sniff to ensure you are Not Threat and also to see if you have lickable fingers lol

Still playing Disgaea 5, and I was poking around my Prinnies (I have 18 of them, because I have way too many characters) and realized that I did have one Prinny with maxed-out extract-HP (aka, 1 billion HP).

Got a bit curious, so I gave it Wild Power (50% more HP), Breath of Life (10% more HP), and then used both Focused Bomb (100% of HP as dmg when exploding) and Focused Grenade (150% of HP as dmg when exploding).

Unfortunately, it seems like only Focused Grenade counts if you combine them. Which means that when I use it with a dedicated thrower (2x dmg from prinny-throwing) I only do about 5,1 billion dmg.

It should get a bit higher if I ever find some maxed out gear for it, but I’m working on the Barefoot X right now and they’re a pain in the ass. (Not to mention how much I’ve come to despise trying to dupe items, thanks to trying to equip all of my actual dmg-dealers with my new maxed-out sword.)

I love cult of the lamb especially because it is a video game - the romantic interpretations and symbology we can expand on ourselves is great when crafting our own fanons, but rogue likes like this that base a narrative around the mechanics are always so top tier to me. So many of us base our comics/art on how our save goes right?

But the game doesn't have multiple endings, there's clearly only one way to beat the game and still have something to play. But the fact that being able to return the crown to TOWW is even an Option and it doesn't do as it did in the beginning with the Yes - Absolutely choice is so Juicy from a narrative perspective. Because when u sacrifice yourself you kinda just restart the day like it didnt happen! It's clearly the wrong choice in spite of credits!!!!

And I think a lot of us sacrificed once for the beloved cat god but a long time ago I saw someone comment on my comic that they sacrificed their lamb 15 TIMES! and to think about the implications of a timeloop like that ragghhhhhh

A loyal worshipping lamb so so so desperate to fulfill their purpose as TOWW's tool -- they knew from the beginning what would need to happen they're committed they properly know their place and they're a LAMB. sacrifice is in their blood, death is what they were made for -- but they for some reason CAN'T successfully free their god, everything just restarts! How frustrating to have your choice and wants invalidated but now you have to confront the fact that "fate" is straight up saying Hey this isn't the right way--and you have to become a traitor! You gotta bring your god down from his pedestal! No one was made to have what they want! Maybe you shouldn't have wanted it in the first place!

And you can take all that from just one little choice at the end of the game.

I have unfinished comics and writings diving into this idea because its so compelling to me. The illusion of choice in video games is soooo good. Forced time loop until you get it right.
