You know I don’t really bother posting about how awful I find the World of Warcraft writing because everyone already knows but the fact that they’ve never had Sylvanas and Jaina interact is just insane to me. Like if I had two characters with that many parallels between the two of them I know I’d have them speak to each other.
Like. The fact they never even mention each other at any point ??? Nothing from Jaina about how her ex boyfriend killed Sylvanas and she feels bad about it ??? Nothing from Sylvanas about how Jaina had a chance to stop said boyfriend but simply walked away?? Nothing about how there was a time where the pair of them were ruling the spilt remains of Lordaeron ??? No, Nothing ?????

I'd like Baine more if he didn't prefer the Alliance over the tauren.
Hello Anon!
I apologize for the length of time it took me to reply, I’ve been taking a break from social media. I do hear you and I think it can certainly seem that way at times, though I think that’s a huge stretch to say he prefers Alliance over Tauren.
Let me start my response by saying that I am in fact a Sylvannas fan; I say this only because the general assumption is that if someone likes Baine and Thrall’s more peaceful Horde, they can’t possibly like Sylvannas. This is incorrect, I like her and I also like Nathanos “Sass”caller. Who can resist his level of sass?? Anyways, I’m stuck in the middle of enjoying having a faction war, while also enjoying those moments of faction peace. For example, when both Alliance and Horde marched together in Legion, that was an awesome moment for me. Regardless, my thoughts are that you need both types of characters to keep an interesting story going.
Put yourself in Baine’s shoes(hooves) for a moment. Baine has had it rough for the past few years since Cairne’s death and yet he remains level headed. First, he chose not to seek revenge against Garrosh, because he knew it wasn’t good for his Tauren. He hated attacking Theramore, he didn’t want to march his people into an unnecessary battle, but he did it for his people. He lives with the guilt of knowing he inadvertently played a role in Theramore’s dishonorable annihaliation. Especially when Jaina was the only one to aid him after Cairne’s death, something Garrosh, his own faction wouldn’t to do. The Horde failed him a number of times, but Baine remained loyal because he loved the Horde; Thrall’s Horde. The Horde that fights when necessary or if provoked, a Horde fights with honor.
Now, to say he “prefers” the Alliance is, I feel, entirely false. In the novel “Before the Storm”, Sylvannas calls him out on his friendship with Anduin and so Baine sends a final letter to the King(along with a chip of his horn) basically saying, “Hey, I like you man but I have to think of my people so this will be the last letter I send.” If he preferred the Alliance, he would have switched his allegiance long ago. He has no desire to do so because he loves the Horde. However, Baine has been pushed time and time again: Cairne’s murder, Theramore, Garrosh & Malkorok’s constant badgering, Teldressil’s burning, excessive blighting at the Undercity, and now Derek Proudmore’s torture and mind control. He’s fed up.
Baine realizes that Sylvannas does not care about the other races of the Horde, she has shown this time and time again. She once had the potential to care for them, but in the end she cares only for her personal goals. They are as she puts it, “Arrows in her quiver”. Baine sees this and he’s fed up. He on the other hand actually cares about all races of the Horde, along with some alliance members. He’s tired of war and simply wants peace for his people. So, when he sees that Sylvannas has ignored her rule, the one rule that made her different from the Lich King; giving those she raised free will of life or the peace of death. With Derek Proudmore, she has clearly forgotten what made her different in favor of her own personal goals. Baine is done and I believe he’s rightfully fed up.
