Know someone who's close to Theo and made us look into his hidden archives, so one of the songs that were scraped from FITF is called looks like lucy. In that song, you'll hear Helly (from severance) reciting the Apology Speech at the end of it. The song is all about the image people created of you vs the real you. It's literally a blouie hate anthem tbh. It's similar to Oasis' Don't Look Back In Anger. Very beautiful song, quite sad it didnt make the cut.

That’s so interesting, anon! I’m not familiar with this series/book, so I’m afraid I don’t fully understand the reference, but wow… the way you described it as being similar to "Don’t Look Back in Anger" makes me want to listen to it! There are so many amazing songs that didn’t make the cut, I’d love to hear all of them! You’re lucky!! Thanks for sharing

If anyone had told me a few years back my first concert ever was going to be the reason I'm going to travel overseas for the first time, I would have laughed in disbelief.

This indeed feels better than love.

(self awareness is going to hit eventually, there's a whole trip to plan and fund, but whatever happens, I'm truly happy for trying getting there).

And I'm also afraid lol but it's bloody 3 am and I want to scream, cry and others, so I will enjoy the moment for now...

Hello Planet Earth! Summer is here and for those who are curious, I thought I’d provide some kind of update. As you’ve probably gathered by now, there won’t be any HURTS shows this year. Last summer was a really special time. A magical few weeks reconnecting with you and the music after so long. And to follow all of that up with our first number one single in Germany in January, it was just perfect! Naturally, the mechanics of the band have changed over time. Things operate differently than they used to. Of course, there will be more shows in the future but it’s not easy to say when. Your continued love and support during these fallow periods is very much appreciated. We’ve been making music together for almost two decades, and honestly never thought we’d make it this far. So thank you for everything! As for new HURTS music, there currently isn’t anything on the horizon. Adam and I care so deeply about the music we make together. From the start, we committed to always make music with purpose and passion. To always have confidence and find connection in what we create for the band. When the time comes, we’ll be ready to strike. Until then, we’ll continue to pursue inspiration wherever it takes us. These days, I spend most of my time working with other artists, as a writer and producer. It’s a side step, but something I find incredibly rewarding and inspiring. Inhabiting other people’s creative worlds is an exciting and enriching process. It’s really helped me to fall in love with things all over again. I’m making music every day, learning from fellow artists and constantly exploring new territory. Mostly importantly though, it’s a lot of fun! So that’s where things are at. I know it’s probably not the urgent update that some of you were hoping for! But rest assured, HURTS will be back… Big love to you all, Tx

HURTS FANDOM HOW ARE WE DOING

For those of you lovely people reading The Fire and the Thud, one of the cameos you might not be sure about is Theo Hutchcraft. He really is a real life person and is part of an amazing duo called Hurts.

I have been a fan of the band since 2011 and it amazes me that despite being from Yorkshire, they have a tiny fanbase in the UK and yet in parts of Eastern Europe they are as big as AM.

The band is on hiatus as the moment and Theo has been writing with Calvin Harris and Louis Tomlinson, but there have recently been hints at new Hurts music.

I'm not sure if he will be in My Mistakes Were Made For You, but I thought his aesthetic suited the time period of TFATT

Hurts have produced five albums, Happiness, Exile, Surrender, Desire and Faith and I really can't recommend them enough.

Louis doesn't even do this own background vocals, that's truly terrible. like ok he has the band for concerts but not even on his recorded songs? wow

Well spotted! Louis is shamelessly lazy and sings as little as possible. In contrast, the main songwriter on FitF, Theo Hutchcraft, is an incredible vocalist. He sings under the name Hurts. This is probably his best known track.
