The funniest thing about the ship MariEliza(Maria Reynolds x Eliza Hamilton) is that in the few fics I’ve read, Alexander either saw it coming or is just not surprised.

It doesn’t matter the plot (I.e: Eliza helping Maria out of her relationship with James, Eliza and Alex have a big fight and she meets the woman at a bar, Alex cheats and Eliza gets closure with Maria, etc) and it doesn’t matter the time period (I.e; Modern or historical) the moment Eliza comes out that she’s in a relationship with Alexander, he is simply not surprised.

And it’s really funny when you consider everyone else’s reaction. Angelica is all like ‘I didn’t know you like girls?’ The hamilsquad(which is a very funny name) are all shocked and like ‘Congrats?’ Because they genuinely thought Alex and Eliza were to last forever.

And Alex is just like: ‘Cool 👍’

Clair de Lune (Eliza Schuyler x Reader)

A/N: I deleted the first one cause I realized I didn’t like it (wasn’t nearly fluffy enough) so I’m reuploading it, hope you like it!

It was a warm Sunday afternoon. The two of you were sprawled in a comfortable mess of limbs in the couch.

With your arms around Eliza’s waist and hers around your neck, your head resting in her chest, you couldn’t ask for anything else. The rise and fall of her breathing was calming, and her heartbeat just in your ear had you dozing off a couple of times.

She tapped her fingers against your arm and hummed something softly. You listened closely, trying to figure out where you had heard the tune before.

“What is that?” You said, tracing a heart over Eliza’s chest. Her lips formed a sort of frown.

“Oh, sorry about that. It’s called Clair de Lune. I tend to hum it when I’m happy.” She said, kissing the top of your head.

“Don’t apologize, I like it. It reminds me of you. Warm and sweet.” You said, looking up at her with a soft smile. She did hum it quite a lot.

You heard a quiet giggle above you, which made your smile widen. She took your hand and placed her fingers over yours. She held them up to the air when she started moving her fingers over yours, pretending to be playing a piano as she hummed the tune.

“It was one of the first songs I learned in the piano. My mother loved it, made me play it all the time for her.” She said with a loving smile as she looked at your hands in hers. Her eyes were half closed, she looked so calm and happy.

You watched her fingers press down on yours in comfortable silence. It was a simple gesture, but it felt weirdly intimate. She hummed the notes as if she has played it a thousand times, and she probably has.

“Do you want me to teach it you?” The question was so unexpected that you sat up subconsciously. You thought about it for a second.

“Sure. Any excuse to have you play something to me.” You said with a smirk, tracing a finger over her jaw. She giggled once again and was on her feet in a second, tugging on your hand to the piano she had brought from home in the living room. She sat down on the bench, patting the spot next to her. You sat down quietly and waited for her instructions.

She took your hands again and, exactly how she did just moments ago, placed her hands over yours. She scooted closer to you, and she began to play the notes and talk to you about the song.

She was explaining whatever she was doing, but you weren’t really paying attention to that. You knew none of it would stick anyway. Instead, you focused on how her hair fell down her shoulders, how her hands felt so soft and warm against yours, her eyes had a youthful and bright glow to them, how her lips looked so soft and kissable.

“This is my favorite part because-” She started, but was cut off when you leaned in and kissed her. She started to protest but quickly melted into your lips. To your surprise (and amazement), she started to play the song while the two of you shared a kiss. As expected, it was perfect.

You pulled back once she had finished, and she shot you a timid smile. You cupped her cheeks and kissed her with much more passion than before. She kissed back, her hands tangling themselves on your hair.

“I love you.” You said, resting your head on her forehead. Your hands still held on to her face. The timid smile came back.

“I love you, too. So much.”
