Black sails tumblr does anyone have any good, clear images of the walrus? Preferably ones where it’s roughly coming towards the viewer, but all angles are appreciated. Gonna get a ship tattoo and want the walrus to be the reference image :)

as an intermittent Adventures in Wonderland blog it saddens me deeply to have learned that Ken Page has died. 2024 really isn't pulling any punches right now.

I loved him as Oogie Boogie, but I loved him more as the Walrus. Walrus, with his invisible friend Pinniped and his jovial voice, completely stole my heart from his first appearance on the show, and I wished there were more Walrus episodes because I found him a totally lovable and entirely comforting character, and I will always be grateful to Ken Page for bringing such life to the role.

Rest In Peace, sir.

Alice in Wonderland Again

Mario Characters as Batman Villains 44 - Lord Fredrik + The Walrus

Today's villain is a really obscure one. You see, there was this Wonderland Gang in the comics, comprised of villains are named after the literary characters from Alice in Wonderland. Some of them were pretty much new, notably the Walrus and the Carpenter (from The Walrus and the Carpenter). I planned to do Carpenter but I felt that a Walrus should complement her. However, I did Walrus first because this batch consists of animal characters, and my choice of Walrus is an animal, unlike the Carpenter. Who will be the Carpenter, you might wonder? For now, that's a mystery. (By the way, I am not doing the Lion and the Unicorn)

One of the challenges with doing a literal walrus (the species is Waldough as the game calls them) is to fit that mouth guard that the original villain had. I decided that I just cannot make it look good so I just flip it upside down and put it on the head as a helmet, which is appropriate for a character who originally wears a horned helmet.

The thing I liked a lot about the end result is the somewhat more dynamic pose, especially after taking into account Lord Fredrik's proportions. It doesn't hurt that the shading is something I am proud of for this one.

Man, that's a lot of Donkey Kong characters I drew in a row, but rest assured, the next one won't be another Donkey Kong character, and it will be a villain group next time.
