i think im gonna start drawing pieces like this of my favorite families from the game, the goths will probably be next! i have a whole story in my head involving some of the townies so i want to start drawing them to help flesh the story out …

Not only do I love the makeovers, you recognize the Villareals immediately without being told they're supposed to be the Villareals. Although you don't see much of the kids due to the depth of field blur, especially of Max. I simply love the edit. Not only because I have a soft spot for the Villareals. Here's why: It made my imagination go omg that looks like...

Jacques and his children are in church. Maybe it's in the saddest case Mme. Villareal's funeral. If you look closely Jacques is (still) wearing a wedding ring. To me, at least Hugo and Luna look sad. Luna seems to look downwards so her eyes appear half closed, and her posture is rather slouched. Since Max is completely blurred out you can only guess his facial expression. Hugo and Jacques's eyes look glossy as if they both cried recently. Jaques's eyes also look reddened. Jacques seems tired and looks at you with a 'Really? give us some peace, will you?' look. Knowing what is said about Jaques it's better to keep quiet and leave him and his children alone.

The True Story of the Villareal Family [3.18]

The crickets chirped non-menacingly outside the Villareal residence on their private island.

This past weekend in Windenburg had been full of fistfights, intimidation, and failed attempts at love, but Luna was determined to focus on the positive.

When she heard the door slam and her brother trudge in, she scrambled to greet him.

“Hugo! Sooo, how was the date? Did I do good, or did I do good?”

“Date?” He frowned. “Oh, you mean Yuki? I don’t like how you did it, but she’s great.”

Hugo looked pretty miffed considering it had worked out, Luna thought.

“But that’s not the point, Luna,” he continued. “We need to talk about…” He stopped and glanced around, lowering his voice. “…Dad.”

“What do you mean? Dad hasn’t been up to much. He hasn’t even made us set fire to a building recently–“

“–yeah, and that’s worrying me.” Hugo was adamant. “He usually tells us his criminal plans and then makes us do them. But he hasn’t been telling us anything lately. It’s different. Something’s wrong.”

“Well, you know how Dad is, he’s always been in his own little world. It’s probably nothing. Now, can you please tell me how it went with Yuki??”

“No, Luna!” Hugo was suddenly shouting.

Hugo didn’t get mad often, but it was like some part of him had suddenly snapped.

“Stop living in your damn fantasy world, get your head out of your ass, and listen to me!”

Luna flinched. “How dare you talk to me like that! After I tried to do something nice for you! What’s your problem?”

“My problem is that you need to grow the hell up and realize what’s actually going on! Plum your matchmaking, plum your dumb teen drama, plum your stupid mystery knight–“

Luna gasped, her eyes welling with tears.

“…dumb teen drama?” she whispered, trying to steady her voice and hold back tears.

“My mystery knight is the only good thing going on in my life right now. This is the first time I’ve felt understood since Mom died, the first time I’ve felt normal.”

The tears were flowing freely down her face now. “Why can’t you let me be happy for once in my life?”

“No, Luna, I–” Hugo said, but Luna had already fled tear-stricken into her room.

Hugo sighed. That was not how he wanted that to go. He had the sinking feeling that he’d just driven a wedge between him and his sister, and that was the last thing he wanted right now.

While he usually liked being alone with his thoughts, for once in his life, he wished he weren’t alone with these fears of impending doom.

Hugo got ready for bed and hoped to Watcher he would wake up in the morning.

Landgraab High School Yearbook, circa 2014

This is an illustration of some of the teenage townies from the Sims 4 in a school yearbook. This is based on my own story I’m making inspired by these characters, which is why some of them look different to their original Maxis counterparts (I gave them in game makeovers since they’re important characters).

The main characters of this story are Cassandra Goth, Hugo Villareal, Wolfgang Munch, Morgan Fyres, and Malcolm Landgraab. Luna Villareal, Sofia Bjergsen, Yuki Behr and Darling Walsh are all important to the story as well. And of course all of the family members of the characters mentioned are very important. The story is a coming of age mystery drama with a little bit of romance and comedy. It revovles around the daily lives of these teen characters but takes a turning point when Bella Goth goes missing, which leads Cassandra and other characters to start an investigation looking for her. There is of course the whole matter of Jacques Villareal and Nancy Landgraab running a whole underground crime ring as well, so things get pretty crazy and dark secrets about the families are revealed as the investigation continues.

I’ve been really obsessed with drawing these guys lately, but I’ve barely had any time to play the actual game, so most of the story is in my head or written hastily in my notes app lol. Let me know if you guys want to see more Sims art inspired by my townie story! I’d love to delve more into each character and their relationships with one another. Maybe even make some comics?
