Sonic Murder Drones AU:

MDAU follows the same basic plot points as Murder Drones just with the Sonic Cast put in for different characters. Sonic, a worker drone, yearns for freedom outside of the bunker and builds a weapon to take out the disassembly drones that have been terrorizing them for as long as he can remember. Nothing goes according to plan and Sonic ends up becoming friends with one of the disassembly drones, Serial Designation C. Having inherited a rogue piece of code called the Absolute Solver, Sonic together with C and eventually R, need to figure out a way to stop Nine from destroying the planet before the Solver completely takes over Sonic’s body.

The Unshakeable Bond:

This Au is where Scourge the hedgehog messes with the Master emerald and the Master emerald gives him a little brother(Who gets named Duke by Scourge) to set Scourge on a different path that Scourge never expected he would find himself going down and it doesn't help that Sonic has to wrangle in another brother, Wilder, a chaotic little hedgehog made from anarchy Beryl.

Musing on this scene and how on a surface level it…doesn’t really make sense. Especially to someone with no prior background to these characters.

At this point in the story we know very little about Dazai’s past and even less about Chuuya. The only things we know for sure are that a.) these two have a shared history, b.) thanks to that shared history, they knew each other very well and c.) points a and b are not good things because they despise each other.

With those three facts being the only things we really know, it doesn’t really make sense for Chuuya to do that. Why would he? It’s fairly humiliating, it’s clear that Chuuya is completely fed up with Dazai’s bullshit, and there is literally nothing stopping him from storming off in a rage. On top of that, the bit isn’t even all that funny.

However, I think that’s what actually makes it an excellent choice because it throws a wrench of sorts in the dynamic that’s been established. We don’t yet know the depth of their connection but this moment right here prompts a halt. It genuinely makes you go. Wait. That doesn’t make any sense. And I think that’s the point becuase in doing that it prompts people to start thinking that maybe this relationship is more than it seems on the surface. Maybe there is more to this dynamic than just jaded ex-partners who can’t stand each other.

When you look at it from that angle, all of a sudden it does make sense. As the story builds on Chuuya and Dazai’s past and present relationship, it only serves to support that first little inkling of ‘maybe this isn’t quite as it seems’

Going back to that scene with the knowledge that their relationship doesn’t begin and end at the surface portrayal shifts the scene from an unfunny, nonsensical bit to a dumb (but important) inside joke. A call and response where Dazai is, in a way, testing the waters. It’s a way for him to get a feel for where he and Chuuya currently stand after a selling separation without having to come outright and ask for it.

Dazai telling chuuya he’s going to act like a rich little princess has no apparent benefit other than Dazai thinks it’s funny. Yet it can also be a way of him asking ‘Hey. It’s been awhile and we’ve both been through a lot. Are we okay?’

Chuuya initially not responding but then later giving in and doing exactly what Dazai wants him to do despite the fact he clearly frustrated by the insistence and humiliated by the idea is his way of saying ‘I’m pissed as hell at you right now. You’re fucking menace. But yeah. We’re good’

And I love that. I love the way the scene is built in a way that so early on establishes that they are not ordinary enemies. I love the way it tells you to watch closely because their bond runs far deeper than you could possibly imagine but you won’t see it unless you look for it.

anyways every time I think that I am fully a high school teacher who should stop teaching 8th graders something happens and I am reminded of how much I love 8th grade boys simply because they are still such kids and can be managed with sternness/fun.

ZEVANA MOMENT SPOTTED!!!!

IT'S HER. IT'S THEM. Sorry but I am so stuck on that last bit where it mentions she and Zevran have their own battles to fight. I was talking a bit ago about how Milana ends up finding her sense of self and purpose that she's struggled through most of the game and y'know... Milana has found herself bound and doomed to the duty and fate of a Grey Warden while Zevran, a man who has found his freedom through her, chose to remain by her side. The circumstances of that is ironic in and of itself (and I love how much irony plays in their story, esp with Zev) but I think as they continue their relationship after everything it only cements her new perspective in life. She didn't even realize it's been in front of her the whole time. What is Zev doing taking on the Crows not only an act to fight and preserve his personal freedom, but an act of love if it meant he can choose to stay beside his Warden? ("For the chance to be by your side I would storm the Dark City itself. Never doubt it." anyone?? 😭!) What is choosing to be beside her during her travels no matter if this chase to find the cure leads to a dead end if not an act of love?

I think she may have been a bit slower to the realization than Zev was about what she wanted out of her life after all that's happened. Yet here he was; he's been choosing her this whole time. And now with Milana searching for the Calling's cure... she would not resign herself to that terrible fate and what is that if not a defiant act of love? Fighting to persevere against all doomed odds if it meant being able to remain beside Zevran just as he does her? They saved each other. They are choosing each other. Every day, with every battle they face, together or apart.

You know the whole tropes of "I would die for you"? Nah, for to these two it's "I want to live for you." "I don't want to be doomed, I want to live." IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE BABY!!!

Oh he would DEFINITELY freak out. XD Scourge would smother that boy with all the love and attention he can muster. Maybe sure he's comfortable and has taken his medicine. Anything Duke wants today, he's gonna get. Waffle for lunch? Done. New plushy? Done. Anything for his sick baby bro. ❤️
