Ruthlessness is many different people coded, but I'm going off the Fable and Centross coded, and there's one line that is Icarus coded, and then the next line is the Things.

The "what have you done" line in Ruthlessness despite it being out of order of events is Icarus and then the "when does a ripple become a tidal wave" is the Things.

Of all the wildly unhinged things that happen in the first issue of The Fantastic Four (including Reed catching a nuclear missile with his bare hands), by far the absolute wildest is the idea that Reed's rocket is just sitting fully-fueled on the launch pad at a second from T-zero, ready to go at a moment's notice. The line "before the guard can stop them" is doing so much heavy lifting there: they've got to park their car, cross a massive empty field, gain access to the tower, get up the tower to the rocket, successfully complete close-out by themselves, seat themselves, strap-in, and then go through the sequence of launching a rocket presumably without any help but their own. 'Before the guard can stop them?' Was he dead at his post? Even just taking the panel at face value you can see it's a bit of a damn hike to the rocket—the guy didn't have time to do anything? Really? That's not even accounting for the space suits: the comic does not make it clear if they changed into their spacesuits at home or whether, as I feel, they changed in the parking lot (To me it looks like Ben is pulling on his glove there and it jsut makes the sequence stranger.) The guard has time to intervene is what I'm saying. My dude has time. (No, wait, I take it back. This sequence is not the wildest thing. The wildest thing is the sentence "She's behaving like a baby. Everything is perfect," because it implies ythat an alien broke into Stan Lee's office and added this line to his script, as it is not a sentence any human being would ever say in that context.)
