I only read the chapter once so I haven't understood some parts because I haven't looked up the meaning of some words, that's what I'll do when I get to properly translate the chapter, but in the meantime, I'm just going over a few pages so you can get an idea of what's going on.

Oh my God, this chapter reveled so much!

I haven't talked about this, because I still have a few chapters to work on, but the previous one ended with Lily saying that everything was done in order to make the revived Count become the 9th Servamp with Mikuni as his Eve.

If that's the plan, could it mean that Mikuni will break his contract with Jeje or will it be possible to also keep him too?

Lily reveals to Misono that initially he wanted to put Kuro in Mikuni's path, but that would have been a great risk if Tsubaki went after Kuro, so instead he chose Mahiru.

"As someone from a family of magicians that could be easily monitored and who didn't posses the combat skills of a magician...And most of all, he was the son of a certain man"

Lily tells Misono about Touma being Mahiru's father, who was a hindrance because Touma was close to the realization of the Count's reincarnation. Lily thought that if Tsubaki would target Mahiru, Touma would be dealt with if he tried protecting Mahiru.

Lily didn't think that Touma would try shooting his son, but he was wrong.

Lily tells Misono about his mother and what we knew about her was a lie. To start off her name was Tatsunami Hokaze which is so weird and perhaps it was a mistake because it happened before that some character's name were misspelled, like it happened with Pisca (it was even brought up by Tanaka on Twitter) and I recall one time where Tsurugi's name was written Rurugi xD

So, I looked up Hokaze (歩風) and it seems to be a boy's name and I have found the readings Ayuka or Honoka for girl names, so maybe one of those is actually her name?

Well, if it won't be mentioned by Tanaka if it was a misspelling, for now she will be called Hokaze.

Moving on, I noticed that in the first panel on the left, if you look closely at the book she's holding, it most likely "Jane Eyre" written on the cover, so we have a literary work that's associated with her.

Alright, so she was one of the orphans Lily brought to the Alicein house, like Dodo and Mitsuki.

Lily described her as ambitious woman and he encouraged her to get into Mikado's good graces. If she became his mistress, she could control him from the shadows.

The letters from his mother that Misono read were censored by Mikuni and crafted a beautiful story. In Japanese it specifically says検閲 which means censorship, so that seems to imply that he didn't fabricate the letters entirely, some things that were written in them might have been left unchanged.

So, we get to see Lily's past and I'm assuming (because it doesn't say) that he was selling his body? That's the impression I get from that image with the old guy who's giving him money...

Alright, moving on to Kuro's fight against Tsubaki!

It's awesome how Kuro made the candlestick into a sword! It looks cool!

Tsubaki says that demon Kuro was apparently sensei's "something", that he called things such as friend or brother and the demon was sort of like a familiar.

Kuro wants to hear from Tsubaki why is he obsessed with the Count, but Tsubaki isn't reluctant to tell him.

Kuro uses "Elpsis" to try looking into his memories and it's so cool that he can use Mahiru's ability, like he even changed the sword into a staff like Mahiru's!

Tsubaki had a little sister :(

So, apparently the reason he wanted to revive sensei isn't because he cared about him. He wants the ritual to be fulfilled because he awaits what comes after. Tsubaki made a promise with sensei, the latter telling him that he would make his little sister happy.

What could that mean? If she's dead, could it mean that he will bring her to life? It doesn't mention what happened to her...

Oh boy, so, I feel sorry for Misono because of how much he was deceived and we also find out that Tsubaki wasn't actually looking forward to be reunited with sensei because they had a deep bond or something, he even admits in this chapter that he's probably just a means to sensei's objective to be united with Kuro, because sensei was only interested in him.

So yeah, that's about it. I want to end the post by saying that I thank you for the patience with the scanlations, I still have three more chapters to finish until I start working on this one.

“One day ur a lonely 20-something working at the local corner store, the next ur a single dad and rookie coach to 14 wayward teenagers.”

Gintoki Sakata:

1. “Gintoki is introduced to us as a depressed twenty seven year old dealing with ptsd who first adopts Shinpachi after protecting him from Amanto (aliens, who have somewhat taken over earth) who were harassing him, which led to Shinpachi losing his job, and Gintoki having to help him rescue his sister Otae from the family’s debtors. Shinpachi comes to work for Gintoki as Odd Jobs, soon joined by Kagura (an amanto herself with super strength who was working as part of gang prior to Shinpachi and Gintoki helping her leave) Kagura leaves in his house and later Gintoki allows her to get a pet dog. It’s made clear that these three are a family and more than a few episodes make it clear that Kagura seems Gintoki as her earth father (her bio dad, the strongest man in the universe, goes around the galaxy fighting monsters) and Shinpachi feels a familial connection to him as well. There’s also Hashida, a baby who looks a lot like Gintoki, whom Gintoki takes care of when the custody battle over Hashida becomes an actual battle. This includes drinking together, tying the baby to his back while fighting his way to Hashida’s mom, and Hashida crying when Gintoki leaves, after promising they’ll share a drink when Hashida is older. In a similar vein is Seita, a street kid who tries to pickpocket Gintoki but gets robbed in return and ends up working for Gintoki’s landlady (Gintoki’s own adoptive mother) and being taken care of by her and the odd jobs family as a whole, before Gintoki discovers Seita’s mother is Hinowa, the Sun of Yoshiwara and its highest ranking courtesan, and fights Housen, a crime lord who fought Kagura’s father for three days and nights until they considered it a draw, and kills him, just so Seita and Hinowa can reunite. During the timeskip late in the series, we discover after seemingly defeating the Big Bad Utsuro (an immortal who formerly was Gintoki’s adoptive father and teacher Shouyou) Gintoki spent two years raising the reincarnated Shouyou as a baby, before being given his heart to prevent Utsuro’s followers from taking it. These are just the most notable examples, pretty much any character younger than Gintoki gets taken care of or helped by him in a way, including Kagura’s older brother, temporary member of Odd Jobs Pirako, and even to an extent youngest Shinsengumi member Okita Sougo. Gintoki is positioned as acting as the same adoptive parent role as his own adopters (Shouyou and his landlady Otose) are, taking on similar burdens and making, or trying to make) similar sacrifices as well. He can be really soft with kids at times, and has at least once carried Kagura and Shinpachi away from a fight on his back.”

Fascinating. confusing, sometimes funny, and sometimes just a little repellent. Must be a Shohei Imamura film. I don't shock easily, but Imamura always keeps me on the edge of being shocked, mostly because I don't know how far he'll go next. In The Pornographers, we're dealing not only with the title subject but also with incest and prostitution and even abuse of the mentally challenged, while desperately trying to sort out the very confused life of Subuyan Ogata (Shoichi Ozawa). He is one of the pornographers of the title, and he lives with a widow, Haru (Sumiko Sakamoto), who thinks her dead husband has been reincarnated as the carp she keeps in a very confining fish tank. She has two nearly grown children: Koichi (Masaomi Kondo), who seems uncommonly attached to his mother, and Keiko (Keiko Sagawa), a rebel without a cause. Ogata is obsessed with Keiko, whom he has known since she was a little girl. Nothing good is going to come out of his relationship with the Matsuda family, of course, especially after Haru gets pregnant and goes insane. But figuring out the ins and outs of the film's plot, and even whether what we're watching is flashback or dream or fantasy is part of the essence of its fascination -- and its repellent quality. Imamura isn't quite like any filmmaker I know of.

Story Pile: Summer Time Rendering

2022 was a kind of terrifying year for anime.

Terrifying in the scope, the variety and the general quality, mind you. It was still a year with a bunch of movies and continuations of things I don’t care about, and it was also a year in which the anime industry kept reeling after literal terrorism and the results of a pandemic slowdown. Still, the thing is, even when you take that into account and also the burnout and stress the anime producers are under, 2022 was a year with a selection of anime that would, in a less busy year, be considered the best anime released that year.

You doubt me? Well, consider that across 2022, we got heavy-hitter franchise installations Spy X Family, Demon Slayer, Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War, Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War, Ascendance Of A Bookworm and the final season of Attack On Titan. There were also some pretty remarkable releases in the queer media space, with a mainline yuri production The Executioner And Her Way Of Life pushing into the isekai franchise space and The Witch From Mercury taking the lead of probably the venerable anime franchise machine that is Gundam. Looking at the lighter, shorter series, things that didn’t need a big backing from a big studio to get out the door, we got shows all over the genre space like Ya Boy Kongming, Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie, My Dress Up Darling, Akiba Maid War, Fuuto PI, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Lycoris Recoil, Call Of The Night, Bocchi The Rock, Do It Yourself, Urusei Yatsuara, and oh yeah, did I mention Chainsaw Man up top because yeah, Chainsaw Man also came out in 2022.

That’s… one year. Any of those 21 series would be an all-star excellent show to be ‘the one great one’ of the year. For comparison, in 1993, when I think I can say I started really paying attention to anime (we called it Japanimation), there were twenty four anime series made at all.

And I bring this list to your attention, the scope, and the weight of that scope and hopefully also the number of highlighted links showing that hey, yeah, these aren’t just critically praised or noteworthy shows but shows I like, where I want to tell you about the anime that gets to be 22 on that list, and may, in my opinion, be the best one.

Summer Time Rendering is a 2022 anime based on the Shonen Jump+ Digital Manga series written and illustrated by Yasuki Tanaka who at least according to wikipedia has done nothing else. The TV adaptation is by OLM, long-standing anime industry juggernauts responsible for, amongst everything else, Inazuma Eleven, Yo-Kai Watch, Beyblade, Cardfight Vanguard, and, of course, the entire run of the Pokemon anime, amongst other less kid-oriented fare like Komi Can’t Communicate and Life With An Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated Into A Total Fantasy Knockout so we can mention an isekai genderswap anime as well, for the full bingo. As to what Summer Time Rendering is at its heart, is a mystery story, which makes it kind of challenging to talk about in a way that can both illuminate its virtues without dispelling some of the tension that people like to discover themselves, especially since one major component of the story is a time loop,

Elaiza didn't find out that Samantha was a half-vampire until she was in third year. To gain Samantha's trust, Elaiza tells her that she is Rowena Ravenclaw reincarnated. However, she had to promise Samantha that if she freaked out again, she would use her abilities before Samantha would hurt anyone.

Elaiza tries to help Samantha find her brother Jack as best she can, until she meets him himself. After that, Elaiza advises Samantha against the search. In the end, however, she always helps Samantha to find the next dungeon.

Also, she's always thought that Samantha and Charlie would make a good couple. When the relationship became known in 7th grade, Elaiza was blown away, but also angry that Samantha had kept it a secret for so long. When the two broke up less than a year later, Elaiza had to swear to Samantha not to talk to Charlie about it.

After Hogwarts, Elaiza first started working at the Ministry as a clerk. So she wanted to be closer to her boyfriend Talbott and her school friends. Talbott Tonk, Angelo, and Samantha began training to be Aurors while Samantha became more and more isolated. It was hard for Elaiza to take, but no matter what she did, Samantha didn't open up to her. After the training, Samantha broke off contact almost completely, but Talbott reached out to get at least a small contact.

At Bill and Fleur's wedding, it was Elaiza who gave Samantha a little nudge. So she and Charlie got back to talking and they became a couple again that same evening. A short time later, Elaiza learned that Samantha was being forced to work as a ghost agent by the Ministry. But the friendship between the two was fully revived and the two women worked for the order.

During the Battle of Hogwarts, Elaiza tried to take extra care of the younger students. She was there when Samantha's adopted brother, Jack, died in Bill Weasley's arms. A few days after defeating Voldemort, McGonagall offered her the position of Transfiguration teacher. On condition to bring “the raven with a lion heart”. And that's how Elaiza and Samantha got their jobs as teachers.

Samantha: There are few people that Samantha trusts so much Elaizas. The two are more like sisters. Sometimes, however, Elaiza finds it difficult to be patient with Samantha. Samantha's quick actions often get the two of them into trouble, but both know that they can always count on the other.

Matthew: Matthew is very happy that Elaiza is Samantha's best friend. Her manner has a calming effect on Samantha and Elaiza is one of the few people who can get through to his daughter. That's why he gives her a key to his house.

Hel: Finally one of Sammy's friends has taste! Hel is glad that Elaiza doesn't always make Samantha walk around like a sack of potatoes. Otherwise, Hel doesn't really like Elaiza very much. Blind wedding planners, however, snapped Hel for a few days because Elaiza wanted to help choose the wedding dress.

Andrew: Andrew is fascinated by how small Elaiza is and where she can't get anywhere. When he's tired and doesn't know she's in the house, he likes to overlook her or just walk around.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2 Unveils Collection of Character Illustrations, Key Visual

  Another chapter in the decades-old Ghost in the Shell franchise has officially landed with the second season of Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts' Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 3DCG series, which just dropped all twelve episodes exclusively on Netflix today.

  A key visual depicting the main ensemble was unveiled to commemorate the release:

I haven’t talked about this on my tumblr but I always thought that the Kuro vs Sloth fight will last for several nights with breaks during the day. During those breaks, Mahiru can give support to Kuro and reassure him that he fought well against Sloth. He can also talk with Sloth to sway him to his side.

Tanaka placed a lot of emphasis on the date August 31 as the day Tsubaki will reincarnate Sensei. She also set up a lot that can’t be fit in one night. Tsubaki is very dedicated to release Jinn from the Servamps in the “countdown” order. He needs to take down JeJe and Hugh before he can go after Kuro. Now, we have Mikuni threatening Niccolo’s family to make him go after Sigurd and Tsurugi. The specific line “I want you to kill two people by 6pm tomorrow” also suggest the story will stretch out to the next day and Kuro might initially lose to Sloth the first night.

Also, Servamp has a big anniversary coming up in June (Servamp’s 10th anniversary). Chapter 100 had a big reveal with Tsubaki’s purpose/plan. I wonder if Tanaka is saving the battle with Sloth for the anniversary. Or Kuro will get Sloth’s power in one fight and the next two days will be them sitting on an airplane xD

Homeward (Silk) Bound, is a modern day reincarnation Aot au about Connie who never felt at home in all his foster homes and would always run away until he got out of the system and went on a journey to find his real home.

My Colours in your Heart, is a MatsuHanaIwaOi Soulmate Au where you have a specific color pulsing heart and when you touch your Soulmate the colors will start to run together in the hearts. This is their journey of their three years of not joining their hearts till they were ready.
