I really want to explain the joke and the vision so, Uh spoiler for the sopranos I guess

The Sopranos is a show about the New Jersey mob, and the main character is essentially the head of the crime family.

Throught the show he does horrible things in the name of the family and so on, Mafia type themes and all.

In the end of the show, after it's all gone to shit, he is sitting with his family, he sees a guy walk in, he looks up, and the screen cuts to black, and that's how a 6 SEASON LONG FUCKING SHOW ENDS

The most common interpretation (and the right one if we are being honest) is that he got shot.

Essentially, after all the horrible things the character has done, after all the effort he put in and all the sacrifices he made, all in the name of protecting his family, he manages to keep those that are close to him, and then gets shot right in front of them.

No Catharsis, not for the character, not for the viewer. No grand unraveling where he realizes he was wrong or anything. He gets abruptly assassinated by his underlings who are tired of his shit, and he doesn't even have the time to realize he died, let alone why.

Gosh, that sure sounds like A Way to end 6 seasons. But I dig the vibes, truly. I still gotta mull over how I'm writing Anima Sola, but this will go into my thought vault.

It’s literally so so so insane that in Christopher dies AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE so this major character who you’ve known for the whole show is gone but you don’t even get any time to process it because life fucking goes on! They don’t end the episode with it, they don’t leave the aftermath to your polite imagination, and Christopher doesn’t even get an episode arc leading up to it, it just HAPPENS, and the episode forces you to watch the aftermath in real time. Fuck man

Zelda and Ganondorf drink in the bar, casually throwing back colorful enchanted drinks. Ganondorf looks at Link, who is nursing the same shot glass of dry ale he has had for hours. He’s wearing a grey tunic instead of his usual green.

Ganondorf: . . .What is Link doing?

Zelda: He’s Christopher Moltisanti from The Sopranos.

Ganondorf: . . . Huh?

Zelda: When the wait between games is too long sometimes Link watches TV and gets a bit... too emotionally attached to a character. He and Midna binged all of The Sopranos last night.

Link, taking a cigarette out of his pocket: I am burdened with vices, faults, and an unwillingness for any introspection deep enough to actually change for the better... This will one day be my god-fuckin’ end, eh?

Ganondorf: . . . He’s cosplaying the guy from the mobster show?

Zelda, sighing: No. He’s kinning the guy from the mobster show. Don’t worry, it’ll only be a bit.

Ganondorf: What the fu-?

Midna bursts into the bar and runs up to Link, excitedly showing him a mechanical singing fish. Link is ecstatic.

Link: Jeez, Louise, Mid! You found one???

Midna: Took all morning!

She presses the button. The fish begins singing The Village People’s Y.M.C.A to Link and Midna’s delight. Ganondorf stares dumbfounded. Zelda sips her drink.

Zelda: . . . Midna’s Paulie.

Link: Zeldaaaaa~

Link morosely tugs on Zelda’s sleeve, looking up at her with eyes as sad as a puppy’s.

Link: Zelda... Even if I screw up one day... Please don’t choke me to death, coldly and uncaring, delivering unto me a death that is as just as it is horrific. Please promise meeeeee~

Zelda: Wait, I’m your Tony Sopranos? I have never been more disgusted! Link, get off the floor, I’m not gonna kill you!

Midna: No worries, Zelda. If you won’t smother him to death, I will.

Link and Zelda stare at Midna, who grins and waggles her eyebrows.

Ganondorf sits at home, watching The Sopranos from the surface of his High Definition enchanted pond.

Ganondorf: . . . Damn, this actually fucks.

also now listening to the prestige tv pod about the sopranos 6x13 and bill simmons says "well that's the thing about tony he has a code." ???? he literally doesn't??? this is what makes him so startlingly evil even within a genre comprised entirely of criminals and murderers. he killed christopher one of the closest people in his life in cold blood for self-preservation (having zero concrete evidence christopher had ever betrayed him which he hadn't). like lol one of the central theses of the show is that that "code of honor" we think exists within these crime families is false, or at the very least easily manipulated. you fr can't let men watch anything they're all dumb as hell.

What are your favorite sopranos scenes so far?

Man I'm always the worst at answering these types of questions 😅 but...

I do like the scene in the first episode that cuts between Tony talking to Melfi and Tony and Chrissy chasing down and beating up a guy. Really sets the mood for this story

When Pussy came back and he and Tony argued then hugged, all was good in the world for five minutes at least 😂

The poker game! Tony being all "hey Silvio remember when we used to spy on my dad running poker games, and getting chased away?" That whole "omg we are now the adults doing the cool thing" vibe is funny

Chrissy and Paulie fighting for custody of the brain cell during Pine Barrens 😂

Silvio having weird mouse trap dreams and then showing up at Tony's door all "I had a nightmare can I sleep with you" 🥺

When Tony told Chrissy that he wanted him to bring them into the 21 century and Chrissy is all "but we are in the 21 century" 🤨 and Tony looks like this might not be a good idea after all.

Johnny Sack being on the war path to defend Ginny.

And I have a love/hate relationship about Tony, Silvio, Paulie and Pussy on the boat 🥺 It's so sad and aweful, but at the same time so absurd! Tony with his food poisoning and Silvio getting sea sick.
