Prompt: Buck and Tommy help to chaperone Jee-Yun's birthday sleepover
send me headcanons and microfic prompts
Okay, this is going to be sort of a tie-in to denial-verse.
The Sleepover
"No, this one! This one!" yelled Jee-Yun giddily as she sorted through the plastic crowns she had in her possession and exchanged the one she had previously placed on Tommy's head with a new one with pink accents.
Tommy had never had a sleepover before.
He never helped out in hosting a sleepover.
But Howie and Maddie had asked for backup and Tommy of course was more than pleased to drive over with Evan to the Han household.
He wasn't sure what to expect. He probably should have expected the fourteen little three-to-four-year-olds running around the house.
The theme of the party, as Jee-Yun requested, was "Princess Wrestler", possibly influenced by Tommy sometimes watching wrestling at Evan's place. The party was a mishmash of wrestling masks, princess crowns, a pillow-covered makeshift wrestling ring in the corner, and what Tommy could only describe as a pillow castle on the other side of the room.
It was chaos.
And Tommy kind of loved it.
"Does Princess Jee approve?" asked Tommy curiously as he adjusted the tiara.
Jee-Yun was deep in thought, rubbing her little chin dramatically. She pulled out a sword, a sword that Evan had said he had bought her at a renaissance fair of all places.
"I dub thee," said Jee-Yun, tapping the sword on either of Tommy's shoulders, "Princess Tommy. You may enter the wrestling ring."
"Thank you, my liege," said Tommy, bowing deeply.
He glanced up, finding Evan helping kids over in the wrestling ring. And he was - he was just smiling. At Tommy. As if Tommy was the most wonderful thing in the world.
And Tommy couldn't say that he was.
But he might have melted as Evan sighed at him.
"Come on, Princess Jee," said Tommy as he brought Jee-Yun onto his shoulders, "Let's tag team Evan."
Jee giggled mercilessly, swinging her plastic sword over their heads.
"Let's take Uncle Buck down!" agreed Jee-Yun, drunk on birthday girl power.

She still had to make it through the night, of course, but so far: sleepover success.

Low-budget indie movie hateration:
SAPIOSEXUAL (2023): Mildly interesting but amateurishly executed drama about a 40something therapist named Hannah (writer-director-star Deborah Twiss), who has been the on-again-off-again mistress of boorish 60ish professor Liam (Nick Hardin) since she was 17, learning that Liam wants to break things off with her now that his wife (L.D. Sumner) is recovering from cancer — and wants to set Hannah up with his former assistant Freddie (David Edwin Williams). (The stupid title is the name of Freddie's new novel.) This isn't quite a thriller, but it's twistier than it seems at first glance, kind of like one of the WILD THINGS movies with older leads and less murder. Alas, the acting is at the lower end of the Hallmark Channel scale and it looks like it was filmed with an older smartphone. CONTAINS LESBIANS? No, but it is unexpectedly rich in Toxic Bisexual Representation. VERDICT: Decent story, but falls down on production values.
THE SLEEPOVER (2021): Low-energy lesbian slice-of-life drama about a group of Australian girls (Madelyn Sheahan, Georgia Crisfield-Smith, Holly Monks, Emily Mutimer, and Liv Rian) — two a couple whose relationship is crumbling, two sort-of exes who haven't yet dealt with the conflict that drove them apart in the first place — whose issues come to a head during an alcohol- and pot-fueled sleepover. Okay acting, very litle plot, and there's nothing especially compelling about the situation or characters, which leaves it feeling too much like listening to strangers arguing. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Predominantly! VERDICT: You may fall asleep before the characters do.
YOUNG. WILD. FREE. (2023): Contrived, unconvincing drama, co-written by Juel Taylor and director Thembi L. Banks, about a creative, introverted Black teenager named Brandon (Algee Smith), trying to take care of his younger siblings as his mother (Sanaa Lathan) struggles with her own issues, whose life is turned upside down by a hot, erratic thrill-seeking girl called Cassidy (Sierra Capri), whom Brandon meets when she holds him at gunpoint while robbing a convenience store. This is essentially a more downbeat Black version of Keir O'Donnell's 2023 film MARMALADE (with Joe Keery and Camila Morrone), with substantially the same twist. That twist ruined the O'Donnell film, and it makes even less sense here, offering an unsatisfying resolution to a story that hadn't been very compelling to start with. CONTAINS LESBIANS? No. VERDICT: The leads are okay, but the story lets them down.

Update v0.4.4
This update features three new CGs for Lark's route, as well as some revamped tunes! For best results, we recommend starting a new game to experience these additions. Loading old save files from v0.4.2 or v0.4.3 may not crash the game but we cannot guarantee that the new content will load properly.
Thanks for supporting our game! This will be the last major content release for Lark's route; future updates will focus on a brand new route. Please look forward to it!
Play the game here: https://fenmori.itch.io/dragongame
Bug fixes:
Adjusted audio levels of some sound effects
Revised some dialogue and turned off some sound effects in the concert scene
Bug fixes from v0.4.3:
Revamped bad ending if you reject Lark
Fixed dialogue in the gelato free-time event with Solit where he implies that he and the player character have already met, even if the player has not visited any of the cafe free-time events
Fixed an issue where a text message bubble would display incorrectly due to the message content being too short

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part VIII
Backpackers - Episode 36
Bluey and the gang pretend to be bags.
Debuts and Details:
Bandit and Chilli are revealed to be occasional backpackers for trips, including one for India, as noted by their photo next to the Taj Mahal.
For this episode, a new upright model for Socks was created for the Backpacker game. The main difference is found in the size difference of Socks' head between models. This looks similar to the current model of Socks post-season 2 but with slight design differences.
Bananas are equivalent to 6k in Dollarbucks.
The backyard porch from "Horsey Ride" is seen once again, after several episodes of not being present.
Jeremy the Gnome (the Blue and Yellow one) has a casualty, and gets repaired by the end.
Despite the fact that Socks has the passports before they empty the backpacks, Muffin is the one who drops them.
Favorite Part: When they become hiking boots

The Adventure - Episode 37
Bluey and Chloe play Princesses.
Debuts and Details:
Both Bluey and Chloe exchange practically all the roles, except Bluey exclusively plays the Kindly Queen, and Chloe exclusively plays the Grandma Fairy.
Bluey breaks Universal Rule #1 when she says "Hurray" while playing as the horse.
King Kong is canon in Bluey.
Both Bentley and Zara are seen with Calypso, despite being in Mrs. Retriever's. This isn't the last time this will happen, and I don't get why.
Favorite Part: When Chloe catches the tennis ball with her mouth. So real-life dog.

Copycat - Episode 38
Bluey copies Bandit
Debuts and Details:
It is briefly mentioned that the Olympics exist in the Bluey verse
We see some new background characters in the vet (including the vet), with one recurring character being the Surfer lady from "The Beach"
This is the first confirmed death of the show, coming from a budgie
tbh, I don't get why we haven't seen cats in this show yet.
Favorite Part: When Bluey inadvertently copies her dad while re-enacting the budgie event.

The Sleepover - Episode 39
Muffin skipped a sleep.
Debuts and Details:
Muffin had recently found out that Coconuts have water in them.
Bluey and Bingo play as wife and husband respectively (for the first time), while Muffin tags on as "Sheila".
The chip shop Bandit runs has a star on its sign, likely being a reference to a Michelin Star, an award reserved for the highest quality food and restaurants.
Chilli briefly shows her job as Airport security when she plays as the police.
The selfie photo in the kids' room briefly changes to a new version of the photo, but only partially cut off-screen. (It doesn't become a permanent change until season 3).
Favorite Part: Destructive Muffin

Early Baby - Episode 40
Rusty steals a baby.
Debuts and Details:
The BBC-distributed versions recolor the hospital crosses to purple instead of red, likely to avoid confusion with the real-life Red Cross.
Indy is revealed to have a sister, the only mention of this sibling so far. It's also good to note that just like in "Calypso", her baby's name is "Polly" (It's the same name in the next ep, although all 3 episodes have different doll representations of "Polly", which only begs the question on the name's significance to Indy).
Rusty misspells "Hospital" as "Hostible", a flub by the voice actor that was kept in.
Favorite Part: Snickers moving past the screen the first time. "Rawh"
