You know what? I think that it's interesting that three out of the four times Bart has been an adult in the comics he has chosen extreme violence (Albeit it is kind of a righteous fury in these instances too).

And that is just very Thawne-like of him. And two out the three times also involve interacting with Thawnes (President Thaddeus Thawne and Thad Thawne II (Inertia) respectively).

Yes, I am still on my Bart-has-Thawne-qualities-and-one-of-them-is-anger propaganda. Bart being angry is just so interesting to me because it's not typically the emotion or characteristic anyone associates him with, but it's there. When he gets angry he's not holding back.

ohhhh but it's so fascinating to me to see the ways ray's struggle with the mew vs. sand situation is the perfect mirror to sand's struggle with the boeing vs. ray situation. in so many ways the 2 cases are so similar, but it's the ways in which they are different are what make it so interesting.

both sand and ray started off this series being haunted by 'what-ifs' in their respective love lives. ray was haunted by a love he'd always wanted but never had. sand was haunted by a love he'd once had but then lost.

even just in ray and sand's dialogues, there are clear parallels in the way they talk about the hold the previous what-if holds over them:

right when it seems like ray is about to move on with sand, he finally gets a chance with mew. ray has wanted it for so long that he immediately jumps at the chance without even thinking of the consequences, almost like a knee-jerk reaction.

sand gives ray an ultimatum: it's either me or mew. but i will not wait for you, and i only want you to choose me if it's me that you really want - i do not want to be the second choice.

and so, ray lets go of mew and chooses sand - but then the script flips.

right when it seems like sand and ray are about to start a new beginning, now you have sand getting his (second) chance with boeing. sand has spent so long bemoaning the loss of his "stolen" love that he's way caught off guard by boeing's sudden reappearance and remorse, by sand's expression you'd think it's almost as if he'd unconsciously fallen right back into the headspace he'd been a year ago when it was just him and boeing.

ray gives sand an ultimatum, too: it's either me or boeing. i'll always be second so as long as he's around, so if you want to choose me - then you will also have to let him go for good.

their situations are almost inverses in a way as well. sand asks ray to choose once and for all to avoid being ray's second choice time and time again. ray asks sand to choose while admitting he is in the 'second string' position, yet still wanting to prove that sand is still ray's first and only choice, and that ray has no qualms about blatantly fighting for him.

another interesting parallel: even though ray has definitely chosen sand by the time he and mew have their Talk in ep9, ray still lets mew do most of the talking when they call it quits. it's what seals the deal for ray that he really does just love mew as a friend. you can see it in the way ray's i love you to mew comes out much more self-assured.

similarly, even though sand has 100% chosen ray by the time boeing shows up with the arctic monkey tickets, sand still lets ray do most of the talking to ward boeing off. it's what seals the deal for sand that not only has ray chosen him, but more importantly that ray will stay. you can see it in the way sand's demeanor is so much more relaxed after ray shows up. (mew is even there to give his final blessing to the couple lol)

there's more parallels with these two cases that i could go on about i'm sure, but more than anything i love that it fits with the theme of everything in this show happening twice - and often, it is the character growth that shines through in the differences between the parallels.

my main caregivers are shouta aizawa and hizashi yamada, aka erasermic (my dads!!)

my mha s/i has gone through a lot and he regresses to cope with his trauma, hizashi is the fun and caring papa, he sings, he does silly dances, he bakes sweets and gives big hugs, but he's really observant and knows when his little needs silence or when something's wrong, he's as much of a good listener as a good speaker.

while aizawa is more strict in his approach to caregiving (set bedtime, set rules, etc), he has a very calming presence, and is very protective in nature, he gives reassuring words and a shoulder to cry on, gentle advice and corrections, patience and understanding, he's the dad that seems tough and cold to everyone but his family.

Here's a divisive one - Renata Alde.

(have some screens from Rai's runthrough since I didn't have decent recording/screenshotting software way back at the time I did Vano's run waaayy back in god-knows-what-year (probably like 2019 now hahaha), so I don't have any (that I know of) from Vano's run, sadly xP)

Renata was definitely an...interesting, one for Vano. While she might be a "Sith" in every other sense of the word, I definitely class Vano as what the game canon I guess, would call a Light Sith. So while Vano definitely went in there with her saber drawn, she absolutely only killed people who came at her first. (this, unfortunately, included whatshisface, Renata's bodyguard)

But after Renata sort of apologised and offered to co-operate? Va was all ears. She didn't like Duke Kendoh one bit either (and why would she the dude's a fucking creep 😖) so Va was...surprisingly sympathetic to her plight. She ended up telling FimRess to butt out and leave Renata alone, and kept her promise to deal with Kendoh without dragging Renata over there (Kendoh was not amused, but Vano gently reminded him who the more powerful Sith was in that situation and if he wanted to throw FimRess' life away fine but he "wouldn't be getting another Sith once the Dark Council hears about this" -- she was bluffing of course, but Kendoh didn't know that -- if he kicked off again) They parted ways after Renata told her about where to find Jaesa and probably didn't speak much after that for the rest of the class story, though I do like the idea of Renata maybe making some minor cameos as an Alliance contact or informant of some sort, later on down the line! <3 I'd imagine it'd be nice to know what's going on in the Core Worlds and Va is definitely the type of person to see no issue in "calling in a favour from an old acquaintance". Provided that Renata behaves herself of course. Poor Vano cannot take another attempt on her life after Quinn, Valkorion and then Theron too hahaha

Maybe it's just me being bitter or maybe it's a thing living in a city with village mentality, but

I hate when people feel like they have a monopoly on being disabled?! Like, it's just so weird.

"I'm in pain all the time (so I will be an asshole to everyone)!!!" or "You should have [given up comfort without me ever commenting my needs]" or literally just throwing a hissy fit or being passive aggressive for everyone "disrespecting them" or "being mean" when it's just... Huh????

Like, fam what the hell are you talking about? Why do you feel so entitled? Do you really think nobody else might need help or accommodation or at least not getting yelled at? Do you really think you're in the right here?!

Also, even when you are not well, you still have an obligation as an adult to society to be a decent human being. No matter how you feel, in the end of a day you always make a choice.

So if you're being a little shit or act like a giant toddler, that's not because you were "not feeling so good", but because you chose to be an asshole! And I will treat you as such.

Grow the fuck up! Either learn to handle your temper or remove yourself from the situation if you really can't deal with it right now
