Dashingdon situation

Hi all, thought i'd make a post rather than replying to the five different asks saying the same thing.

I'm aware that Dashingdon is shutting down at the end of the month. I have been aware for a while that it would end service eventually, but I was hoping to upload the port when I had completely finished Act 3. As it stands, only the first part of Act 3 is in a playable state right now. So i'll spend some time refining it, and doing a polish of the main game, and hopefully have a port ready to go by the end of January, because as I understand it, Dashingdon will remain up until the 31st.

So the new port will have the first part of Act 3 readable, and while I had wanted to upload Act 3 all at once, It'd be a lot more hassle trying to just upload the first two bits now that I've added all these new variables.

The rest of Act 3 will all be uploaded when it is finished, as originally planned.

If any of my understanding is incorrect, though, feel free to let me know, as I know I'm not as active on the CoG forum as I used to be.

Random idea for an IF that popped into my head

I don't know if I've ever talked about this but my mind tends to wander. While working on Onryō, my mind got distracted as usual. And I ended up coming up with this Idea for an IF that I quite love. Of course, Onryō is my main focus, and I would want to finish that first before seriously beginning work on this, but I just wanted to ensure the idea was out there and to see what people thought.

(Please note, this is all subject to change. I still haven't worked out all the details, but the core idea is set.)

18+ due to violence, sexual implications, and other themes that may be triggering.

This idea stemmed from me wanting to combine my two favourite genres: Superpowers and Sci-Fi, so here it is:

Working title: Child of Sin

Your father is the Galaxy's most infamous supervillain. He is responsible for many incidents on planets across the Galaxy. You are the youngest child of 4, and while your father does love you dearly, the thing is, he is a supervillain. So naturally, you are expected to be a pawn in his plans.

The first half of the game will involve you accompanying your siblings on expeditions to various planets to train your powers (your powers will be able to be selected from a list of three, of which your Father has them all), and to just generally sow chaos. Saying that, here are the characters: Earl Astatine: Patron of the GAFEE (Galactic Alliance For Evil Enthusiasts.) Your Father, Earl Astatine (real name unknown.) Is the most infamous and powerful supervillain in the galaxy. He is famously hot-headed, yet can back up his words with his immense combat skill. Despite his short temper, he is highly intelligent, and the plans he cooks up have brought many a planet to it's knees. He has the powers of Telepathy, Pyrokinesis, and Telekinesis.

Rose: The gentle and loving oldest sister with thorns.

Your oldest sister, Rose. She inherited telepathy from your father. She is the one who took care of you as you grew up, and as a result is the closest to you. But she treats you like a baby in need of protecting. It's up to you whether you prove her right or wrong.

Despite her gentle nature, when matters do not concern her siblings, she is incredibly cold and calculating. She frequently speaks in metaphors, and sometimes acts as tactical advisor to the GAFEE. However, she is is still skilled with an energy blade. If anyone dares threaten her siblings, especially her beloved youngest sibling, their blood will run in the streets.

Gabriel: The second oldest. An angel of blood and love.

Your only brother, Gabriel. He inherited telekinesis from your father. Backdoor deals, political assassinations, one-night-stands. Gabriel is a diplomat at heart, and is perhaps more ruthless with his words than his powers. On any one occasion, a crowd of love-struck men and women can be seen following after him, proclaiming that he told them "You're the only one for me, sweetheart!". (He told that to all of them.)

But he is no stranger to getting his hands bloody when the situation calls for it. If a backdoor political deal goes wrong or out of his favour, the next day the police might just discover a body crushed by intense force. He is fond of his youngest sibling, but mostly lets Rose coddle you.

Carina: The third oldest. The flame warrior with a heart of fire.

Your second sister, Carina. If there was one of your siblings who inherited your Father's arrogance and hot-headedness, it is most definitely Carina. Combine this with the fact that she inherited his Pyrokinesis, and you have a recipe for destruction the likes of which most planets have never seen.

Along with her axe forged from a dying star, she is without a doubt the strongest fighter of your siblings. Unfortunately, her temper often gets her into arguments with your elder siblings, though she does try and hold back against you. But she is content to let your siblings and father make the plans, so long as she gets to burn something.

I am not sure if I will add romance options at this point, as I want the IF to be a sort of slice-of-life focusing on relationships between siblings in a situation such as the one I have presented, but it is not off the table.

Along the way, you will be able to choose which sibling you are closest to, if you dislike them, etc. You will also be able to decide whether you want to betray your father, or work wholeheartedly with him. Depending on your relationships with your siblings, you might be able to convince them to join you if you choose the former option.

The final half of the game will involve your Father's quote on quote, biggest plan to date, and this is where you will have your right of passage as an official member of the GAFEE. Betray, or serve. What is more important, Family, or Obedience?

Hello Everyone… first of all nice to meet you guys. you could called me Sen, I'm known as the artist for Totem Force, Unearth Your Gays, and The Onryō of Osaka.

i've been taking hiatus on digital drawing for years, the last time i did some art was in 2021, the reason for it was something im not comfortable enough to disclose in a lot of detail (im sorry) short summary of some of them (beside the covid case) are these :

in 2019 ive been living alone, which makes me have more time to work on art

but i have to come back to my parents house at the start of 2020 to take care of them and my lil sister which taking more of my daily life time

since my parents quite old i have to fully take care of the house chores and such like taking care of my lil sister education, managing the administration file and such when she have to apply for her Junior High School

managing monthly bills like electricity, water, gas, etc (not to mention that i just become unemployed to take care of the house)

i also have to manage our daily food like doing grocery in the morning after taking my lil sister to her school, preparing food for my family (cooking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and my lil sister packed lunch)

another house chores like cleaning the house, doing dishes and such

not to mention dealing with family drama for my mentally abusive parents (the reason why i leave the house in 2019 and living on another city away from them) which taking a lot for me to stay sane

around 2022 my mom took a turn and make a mess of our life, she ended up diagnosed with bipolar and mentally unstabled state, which cause a lot of problem with neighbours and relative. she cause harmed to herself and other which ended up making me the one to blame for "not taking good care of her"

forgot to mention i also have to deal with my parents debt on top of it (dad never pay the monthly bill for years and caught in indefility, mom taking a bunch of debt from bank and loan shark, lil sister got neglected since i left the house (and yes it was me who usually take care of her since birth she basically said im more of a parent figure for her than her own parents)

there are a lot more i couldnt mention which ended up taking me to a dark places and makes my life feels too much of a burden, i was considering to end myself in 2022 (unfortunately not my first attempt considering how tiring it was to live under my parents abusive tendency in my youth)…

it tooks me a while to get a grip on myself again, but i decide to keep on living my life in hope it get better, not to mention i hate the thought of burdening other people by taking the easy way out, i still owe a lot of people, and my lil sister still need me to keep on taking care of her, and i dont know what will happened with this house if theres no one to take care of it

im not talking to any professional yet but talking with some close friend online does help quite a lot in sorting out my thoughts.

im stable enough now to deal with my daily life in this house, and im planning to stick with it until my lil sister graduated from her high school in around 3-4 years in the future. in my vision she will be old enough to taking care of herself then so i could get my rein back to focusing on my own life

Long story short im slowly getting back on drawing digitaly since 28 march this years, and lets be honest… i couldnt fully work on my backlog without earning any income for my living cost while im at it, so hopefully by taking another comission alongside my overdue list i could get through all of it. and please dont worry and thinking i will neglect your commision, i will give my best to finish it within 2 weeks - a month (depending on the complexity of it). you could talk more detail with me if you decide to take my service offer

Hi all, I’m happy to announce the new port to the new site, as well as the release of Act 3 Part one!

Features included in this update:

A port to the new site, since Dash is being discontinued.

Act 3 part one.

I moved the side stories into the actual game, since the old links were on dashingdon, and I like them too much to not make them part of the actual game anyway. The Kit and Makoto one contains some important plot points anyway, so I’ve made that a part of the actual story, but Watanabe’s is optional.

I had an extensive rewrite of much of the earlier chapters.

Made it possible for Masa and Sasaki to be your ex.

And on the murdered parents backstory, you can choose whether your mc is oblivious to Makoto’s crush or not.

And please for the love of god someone stop me adding more metaphors whenever Izanami-no-mikoto speaks, I swear this is like an addiction at this point.

The Synopsis!

As a vigilante in Japan, you work with your Guy-In-The-Chair, Kage to take down the Yakuza family which you have sworn vengeance upon - The Busujima Family. You board the Shinkansen going from Tokyo to Osaka in an effort to assassinate Kaito Busujima, the son of the Family's Kumicho. All goes wrong, however, when you are sadly killed.

Disembarking the train of life, you board the train of death, and intent on reaching the end of the line, you become an Onryō, a spirit with a single purpose - Vengeance.

In Yomi, the land of the dead, Izanami-no-mikoto takes pity on you, and allows you the use of a special power - the power to rewind time upon your own death. Using this power, you form a group of enigmatic and ragtag vigilantes, in a race against the clock to take down the Busujima family once and for all, and save Osaka from a mounting threat.

Bit of an embarrassing progress update.

Hi it's your "I'm not dead" update that I do every few months.

As you know, I'm slowly but steadily working on Act 3, the casino job. I'd estimate it's about 40% done right now, and part of me wants to just drop the first third of it because I know you've all been waiting months, but then I remind myself that you all voted for a full chapter release rather than smaller updates. Anyway this is more than a simple "I'm not dead" post, because I have something slightly embarrassing to admit.

A few days ago, I discovered the blog page @redo-rewind-if, and IF which has nearly the exact same premise as mine, and loved reading through it. After doing so, I found that I've been writing more every day, and my ADD has been kept in check.

So the lesson is kids, spite is a great motivator!

P.S: to the author of Redo: This isn't a hate post, I love your IF. I just had to get this off my chest X X

heyyy I saw the forum thread got locked for inactivity, just wanting to make sure you're still working on it? And not dead? Sorry if this sounds rude btw, I genuinely just hope you're not dead.

It's not rude don't worry. I get people wanting updates. And I know I haven't exactly been the most active. (Side note, I've received three anon asks about progress. I'm only posting this one cause it's the only one that is nice to me. The other two basically boil down to "whine whine update now". I don't know who wrote those, but you know who you are. I hope you're happy with yourselves.)

But, contrary to seemingly popular belief, I'm not dead. You can't get rid of me that easily lol. I won't lie, though, I am rather struggling with a lot of mental shit these days. But I will in no way abandon this IF. This is my baby, and the only way I will stop working on it is if I literally do die. And even then I'll come back as an onryō myself to finish it. I am slowly working my way through Act three, and have completely finished part one of act three, and am working on the rewind section in the Casino. I would post act one itself, but the poll a few months ago was overwhelmingly in favour of releasing an Act as a full update instead of three separate things.

So yeah, I'm still here. Thanks for checking in, and being nice about it X

So, fun fact: Brazil (official language: portuguese) has the second highest japanese population outside Japan.

So it is entirely possible that my MC speaks portuguese due to either being the child of nipo-brazilians who moved to Japan, having family there, or some combination of both.

Second fun fact: in portuguese the term for soulmate is "alma gêmea", which literally translates as twin soul.

Therefore, my MC is enforcing the red string romance. No hesitation. They are soulmates in portuguese now.

The only canon set thing for the MC outside of the chosen background is that they are born in Japan, so let your headcanons go wild!

And I must say, you've just given me a brainstorm. During the casino mission, the MC can meet a member from another crime family, who is there for diplomacy with the Busujimas. I originally had this as just another Yakuza clan, but I think A Brazillian crime family member would be more interesting now, and adequately show just how dominant the Busujima Family is, as the largest Yakuza clan outside of Tokyo.

And I'm glad that people are looking forward to the red string romance. Their identity will be revealed in the Casino mission, so you'll be eating good then. And then we can let the angst flow, ehe. I just need to write the damn thing...

I don’t know why I’m feeling compelled to come and apologise here, when there’s not really any reason to. It’s not like I’m being held accountable by anyone, and to be perfectly honest, no one here would likely care if I just didn’t post again and dropped off the face of the Earth.

Truth is though, I only wrote about 500 words last month. I had thought that completing university would allow me to work on my IF a lot more, but in some cruel twist of fate, I haven’t. I’ve plenty of time. I have mondays to fridays free, and only work part-time on the weekends, and I’ve just been staring at the file, blankly sitting and doing nothing. It’s not an issue of writer’s block, it’s more an issue of lack of motivation. I’ve just been feeling, to be perfectly honest, super depressed, and while I thought all this free time would be a boon, ironically it’s been a bad thing. I actually got a lot more done when I was working on this in small snippets while procrastinating on my assignments, etc. Right now though, it all feels like a life without passion or purpose.

Part of me feels guilty, and another part keeps telling me that no one really cares. I’m reminded of those accounts that drop an IF premise, and never a demo, then just never post again, or keep answering asks but never actually write anything substantial. I have something to show for all my work - a full 160kish IF, but I still can’t help but feel guilty for my lack of work.

I’m not sure if I will be able to pull myself out of this, but if I do, I know that if I used all this free time to work on my IF, I could potentially have it finished in a few short months. And that thought only makes me feel worse.

Anyways, apologies for spoiling the happy mood of your day with this slightly ranty post. But I have a plan for July to hold myself accountable… Anything… Everyday. Be it one word, or a thousands words, my hope is that if I write that first word, I’ll get in the zone and be able to pull myself out.

Im stuck at the concert chapter and can't pick the search for irumota's note. I've been in loop for like 10 minutes 😓

It's hard to know what the issue is with such little information, due to the sheer amount of variables in each rewind section, but I shall attempt to break it down for you.

Firstly, at the concert, in order to acquire the password, you need to have either picked the sixth sense or possess ability. If you picked sixth sense, there is a separate choice for acquiring the password. But based on your wording I will assume you mean this specific choice.

You are only able to pick up the note if you are aware that the Yakuza member that you have possessed has dropped said note.

To achieve this, you need to:

Have possessed Irumota to begin with, you can do this in the toilet area if you picked Possess as an ability.

Approach the man guarding the hole backstage as Irumota, which will trigger a prompt for probing his mind further.

Probe his mind further, which will unlock the choice to search for the note.

The Romance Options.

So, it is time I start listing the details. Let's start with the romance Options, because that is definitely more important than the synopsis...

Makoto - Kage:

Sex: M.F (Gender Selectable)

Age: 19

Appearance: Black, dishevelled shoulder-length hair. Blue eyes, freckled face. 4’‘2 in height, making them the shortest in the group. Always wears an oversized green hoodie with their favourite anime character proudly presented on the front. Almost never takes the hood down.

Personality: Hacker, Gamer, Otaku, and pretty much anything in-between. Makoto can be trusted with anything regarding technology, but anything regarding reality can often be a challenge. Makoto seemingly has no filter, saying what they are thinking at that exact moment in time; be it inappropriate jokes, insults, or anything in-between.

Messenger #27361 - Kaen:

(Because the player sets the name of this character, all references to them will be “Kit”.)

Sex: M/F (Gender Selectable)

Age: Somewhere between 100 and 200 years old

Appearance: Red, wild hair, with length depending on gender selected. Red eyes, with a barely detectable feint glow. 5’'3 in height. Wears a traditional Japanese Kimono shamelessly stolen from a convenient shrine. When in fox form, has red fur, and two tails.

Personality: Kit is a Kitsune, and a messenger of Inari Omikami. You met them one day at a Shinto Shrine, and they decided they liked you enough to follow you. In Japanese Folklore, Kitsunes can take human form, and Kit does just that. The MC eventually gets tired of referring to them by a number, (definitely not because they cannot remember it), and gives them a name.

Kit is a seemingly endless bubble of energy. They like teasing anyone and everyone, and a good harmless prank is always appreciated! Do not ask about the harmful pranks, however. The Osaka Police department is already overwhelmed with arson incidents, as it is. Having joined a society they know nothing about, Kit spends much of their time being confused. They have a tendency to act like a child running around an amusement park, (which attracts unwanted attention in downtown Osaka), and Makoto constantly teases them.

Ryoji/Ryuko Sasaki - Temae

Sex: M/F (Gender Selectable)

Age: 34

Appearance: Wears a plain, grey suit. Has a tattoo on their left arm of a Cheetah. Black, slick, neat hair, which comes down to the shoulders if female, clean shaven if male. Grey eyes. 5’‘6 in height. If male, has stubble. Is missing their entire index finger on their left hand.

Personality: From the outside, one would think them to be every part the stereotypical Hardened and coldblooded Yakuza member. They pretend to not care about others, but actions often speak louder than words. Is very loyal to those they perceive as friends, and is easily angered when a friend is threatened. On the flipside, seemingly has no sense of self-preservation.

Masa Matsuzaki - Jiji:

Sex: M

Age: 42

Appearance: Black, messy hair. Blue eyes. 5’‘5 in height. Black, baseball cap with his favourite, (fictional) baseball team, the Osaka Orangutans. Wears a white, button up shirt with short sleeves, and a tie. Also wears jeans. Is rather muscular. ;)

Personality: Masa is a detective working for the Osaka police department who assists you with your not so legal methods. He believes in justice above all else, even if it means bending the law. He has no concept of ‘jokes’, and often takes the stupid things Makoto says seriously. (Do not ask him about the Takoyaki incident.) It seems as though he lives only to work, and he often has to be physically dragged into the break room to rest.

Midori Yasukawa - Hoshi:

Sex: F

Age: 21

Appearance: Green eyes. Long, black hair with green highlights. Almost never without a smile on her face. 4’'9 in height. Wears a long, black dress with green four-leaf clovers all over it.

Personality: Midori is a J-pop idol who runs away from her producers, and latches herself onto your group, saying she’s “bored”, after you interrupt a Yakuza meeting that just so happened to be taking place under a stage which she was performing a live concert on. Makoto is a big fan of hers. With a bright and bubbly personality, Midori surprises everyone when she turns out to also be extremely sadistic. Enjoying the various missions you take her on with concerning levels of Joy.

Secret RO: Red String.

Sex: ?

Age: ?

“You’re the war that I wage,” “You’re the love that I hate.” “Can you change me” “From the monster you’ve made me?” Starset - “Monster”

The red string has to connect to someone. Not a soulmate, per say. More like a soul sibling. Your “twin soul”. They are in important figure in the story of your life, as you are in theirs. The two of you may not reach the end of the line without each other. But if life was already written into stone, that would be rather cruel. While you must encounter this person, your relationship with them is still up to you.

Red String is a potential Yandere for the Onryō. They start out hating the MC, but with certain choices, this can become a sort of twisted hate-love situation. That is all the info I will give out for now. It’s a secret RO, so obviously I can’t reveal their identity. I will say, however that they are a character that has already been met in the demo.

I am now finished with university, and I will live blissfully in ignorance until the results come back, ehe. If you weren’t aware, I have not been able to work on this as much as I would've preferred for the past few months due to exams.

But as I now plan to take the next year off, only working part-time, I have a lot more time for writing. I will expect there will be a lot more frequent updates from me over the course of the next year.

But as for now, as I've just finished the exams, I'm going to spend the day sleeping. X

So, someone just wrote a mini fanfiction in the asks anonymously about what they want to do with Kit's tail, so I thought I'd take a minute to set something out.
