There might be a cultural difference/translation shenanigans/general romance writing tropes that is the cause of this, but I think it's nifty that both Towa and Akira from their respective horny gay visual novels kind of read as acearo. Akira is a deadringer (sex doesn't exist to him to the point where he doesn't realize the "slaves" Arbitro breaks and peddles in his little tag shop are a sex thing, romance also does not exist to him), Towa is more debatable since he does get dicked down on the regular but it's clear from his internal monologue that it's nothing that really interests him beyond maybe cashing in some stimuli to make his turbo-depression let through at least 1 dopamine. Neither really express attraction, ever, even when they're like 3/4ths through any given route with a guy, sexual and romantic attraction from their end is just non-existent. It mainly culminates in "we're ride or die now. I guess I don't mind it if you tickle my prostate in passing." rather than "I love you and want to husband you" which is oddly perfect to my partly romance repulsed aro brain.

Towa especially is pretty detached to a degree that almost becomes comical. The closest he gets to being romantically invested I'd argue is with fucking Madrame. Because ofc that's how his brain would operate. Otherwise he's just like "yeah ig we can hang and do monogamy if ur gonna be this into me." and the narrative is so real for never making a problem out of it. Or maybe it does bring attention to it at the end of lawyer guy's route buuut Iiii haven't finished that yet ooooopppsss. In so much romance media, one party never dropping the "I love you" would be framed as a Problem milked for Angst which always makes me shrivel and die a bit, so it's soothing when these twinks are never vilified for being romantically unavailable on an emotional level.

Aoba meanwhile i dont think is ace i just think he's kind of a no-homo brained bimbo. Oh no Clear's dying wish is that i get bouncing on that dick, guess i have to!! Oh wow gee, Noiz feels nothing in the body? I'm bouta disprove that big time, get your peanits out brother and we will see about those nerve endings!! Everyone looks at Taehyung.

“Me?” he blurts. “But I’m not even married!”

“Yeah, but you’re the one with the impreg kink,” mutters Hoseok under his breath.

Taehyung glares. “That’s private.”

“Not when you text it to the group chat, it’s not,” says Namjoon.

“Fine,” Taehyung grumbles, sinking low in his seat. “As to who’s the most popular choice for godfather, it’s obviously Jimin.”

When no one bothers to contest, Jimin beams and sits up straighter.

“Cook,” Jungkook says, at the same time you answer, “Sex.”

Both pause and look at one another.

Jimin, you were there for Jungkook when he was going through a really rough time. How have your friends rallied around you through your break up?

Jimin frowns, thinking back. “Funny thing is, Jungkook always says he’s not sensitive, but he is. He was texting me dumb YouTube videos every hour after the break-up to try and make me laugh. Seokjin bought me a new winter jacket... Hoseok made me snacks to take to work. He kept leaving them around the apartment and claiming they were extra.” Jimin stops to shake his head. “Namjoon and I had a few long talks, Taehyung and I went on a trip together and Yoongi spontaneously texted he loved me.” At this, Jimin cannot help but grin. “I’ll admit, that one really cheered me up.”

“Okay, so.” Jungkook sits up straighter. “I came back in two weeks, like I said. I thought I was being super romantic and bought tickets for us to go to the Shedd after hours. Which is when you can visit the aquarium, just 21 plus!”

You make a face. “Fish are aliens.”

“They are not.”

“Are too!” you blurt, turning to face him. “They’ve evolved with a completely different way of breathing, Jungkook. You think a fish would care if you died? Think again.”

Jungkook presses his lips tightly together. “Anyways, that was a bust, so we ended up taking a cab back to her place.”

Thrusting out a hand, you place this over his lips. “I’m going to spare everyone the details, there.”

Jungkook leans back, a smirk on his lips. “Excellent question. Y/N?”

“I could totally let someone else plan my wedding!” you protest, eyes wide. “Are you saying I couldn’t?”

“I’m saying it was... difficult for you to let go during this year’s holiday gift exchange.”

You swivel to face him, offended. “You wanted to serve pizza rolls as the main entree.”

“A crowd favorite!”

“For you and Seokjin, maybe!″

“Well, we’re the ones eating half the food!”

You pause for a moment, then start to laugh. “I don’t know,” you admit, snuggling into his side. “I guess we’ll cross that bridge when... or if... we come to it.”

MRS. KIM!!!! was the proposal a total surprise to you or were you not really that surprised because you two had talked about getting married soon??? and and and how’d he do it???

“It was kind of both?” ______ laughs, covering her face. “We’d talked about the future and he kept saying he wanted to marry me... but I don’t know. It’s not like I expected it to happen.”

Namjoon pops his head into the room. “What’re you talking about?”

“How you proposed,”

Immediately, Namjoon flinches. “Don’t tell that story, it’s embarrassing!”

“It is not!” ______ insists, curling both feet under herself. She grins when Namjoon disappears. “So, I’d had this really crappy week at work. Everything kept going wrong, my boss yelled at me and I totally messed up this data entry thing. When I came home Friday, Joon asked if I wanted to go out and I snapped at him.” Remembering the fight, ______ winces. “Then, of course, I broke down because I wasn’t mad at Joon, I was mad at myself and he’s always so great, and I’m a mess... Anyways,” she sighs. “He was hugging me, saying I was crazy and then he asked me to marry him.”

From the kitchen, Namjoon makes a vague, strangled sound. 

“I thought he was joking,” _______ says, trying hard not to smile. She fails. “Or, at the very least, making fun of me. It took him several more times before I believed him... and then, one of the worst weeks of my life became the best.”

“Miss him?” Seokjin makes a grumbling sound. “Pfft, what’s there to miss? Alright, sure. And okay, sure, we always drunk karaoke-d together after wine... He was the best roommate ever, okay?!” Seokjin pounds his fist to the table. “And ______ is damn lucky to have him.”

Tae! We know that the RMCC was formed during freshman orientation weekend but how did you all meet? Were you guys in the same group for an activity or tour? And how did you guys find out all of you were virgins? I really admire how strong your friendship is so many years later, so there has to be good stories!

“Ugh.” Taehyung rubs his forehead. “So, the first Friday of freshman orientation, a bunch of guys on Seokjin and Namjoon’s floor held a party. Somehow, all of us were in attendance. And somehow, the night ended with a game of Never Have I Ever.” He grimaces. “Let’s just say, we were the seven lone virgins in the room. Let’s just say, we all met the next night to have a drink. The rest, as they say, is history.”

“Oof.” Jungkook frowns, running a hand through his hair. “I’d maybe tell him it’s okay to be hurt. That he doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone but himself. That his first love isn’t necessarily the last. Doubt I would’ve listened, though,” Jungkook says with a shrug. “I was hurt, angry and stupid back then. I probably would’ve told future Jungkook to shove it. Maybe made up a limerick.”

Heidi, we know you met Jin through Namjoon but what was your first impression of him? Did you know anything about him before you met him?

“Loud,” Heidi says immediately.

Seokjin’s eyes widen. “Baby!”

Heidi laughs. “It’s okay, I’m loud, too. But I first saw him at this wrap party. I didn’t know who he was, at first. I just saw him with Namjoon. Namjoon and I had just finished working on a documentary,” she explains, “and I saw Seokjin from across the room. He’d just dyed his hair pink on a dare and he...” Trailing off, Heidi takes a long sip of her wine.

Brows furrowed, Seokjin leans in. “And he, what?”

Heidi shoots him a wink. “He was the hottest loud guy I’d ever seen.”

Seokjin cannot help it, he grins.
