rook falling asleep on the red couch in the lighthouse dining room while lucanis is making dinner....... they were helping out by keeping him company and peeling and chopping potatoes for a while there but then the potatoes are done and the room is so safe and warm and smells like coffee and good food and lucanis is trying to explain something to spite and his voice is low and soft and good to listen to and rook's eyes only slip closed for a moment. they'll get up to save the world again or whatever in a second just. one moment. while the world is warm and kind. and then they're being shaken gently awake an hour later because it's time to eat and everyone's starting to drift hopefully dinner-wards

i think armand learns, but likely doesn't accept, that marius is alive from lestat in magnus' tower. if lestat is as weakened as theorized and was fighting control in the trial, then his mind was open when he name dropped akasha. also, naming her brings up a very interesting conversation where if the show keeps marius as an omnipresence than he'd be aware a vampire knows a name which he should not.

nil is so interesting to me as a character.

on the one hand, obv i believe it’s unacceptable to declare any group of humans as inherently disposable & especially to set yourself up as judge, jury, and executioner for them. he’s open about the fact that he’s not a good person, & he admits that he chooses bandits because he sees them as subhuman & therefore can avoid any consequences he might experience from hunting them.

on the other, he also says he confessed to his war crimes & accepted the punishment without balking, which isn’t what you’d expect from a sociopath who targets bandits because society won’t care. so. is he better or worse than eg serial killers who target prostitutes because they’re seen as disposal by society? is he actually making the world a better place? & does it matter?

& no matter which side of the “it’s for the ultimate good” vs “it’s a bad attitude” of the argument you come down on, the way he calls out aloy for her self-appointed duty as protector of the weak is fascinating. “i’ll keep your secret—that, deep inside, it feels good to kill someone” (paraphrased).

it almost feels like a little nod to the player. “oh? are you feeling satisfied in your ability to land headshots and nail silent takedowns? have we successfully gamified killing? what is an acceptable casualty, & why are you the one who gets to decide that?”

Normally I talk about headcanons I’ve seen from other people or just make one up as like a way to ask a question but there’s one headcanons I’ve come up with on my own:

Vader’s hair can curl up on its own whenever she’s upset, the hair is completely straight by default and she can change her tentacles into hands whenever she wants

Organized a shelf in the kitchen and planted more seeds. Decided to utilize the area in the pots under my avocado trees and lemon trees for two types of lettuce, spring onions, tom thumb peas, and two types of cilantro. Half my pepper seedlings did not survive, which is fine but a bit disappointing. They'll get replaced once the weather warms up a bit. Need to get soil to set up the cucumber trellis and figure out where to put the walking stick kale eventually. Now I just need to decide if I want to go change litter boxes or call it a day and just crochet (I've been up since 3 and I'm tired because I haven't stopped moving).
