GIVE ME YOUR TRUST [ESP/ENG]
(English version below the cut)
ENG: The cookies have consciousness and a life of their own, and that is why they're aware of the intentions of every witch they live with.
Only one witch seemed to understand this: Matilda was a young witch who used to help the older witches with experiments. Matilda felt sorry for the little beings and tried to stop the tradition where witches gather to eat them. Of course, no one took her seriously. Matilda felt lonely, so she finally decided to try her first creation.
Unfortunately, Matilda's creation took advantage of her kindness, and with just a push, he got rid of the young witch, who now lives locked in the darkest and most hidden corner of the castle, waiting for someone to rescue her.
That creation took several ingredients and seeks to become even more powerful than a human.
❝I never thought someone so small could cause something so big. All I can do is wait for someone to stop him before he gets the power he seeks.❞

What was promised is a debt, I made a version of Evan from Threnody! There will be many differences in lore with its counterpart from the vampair series, that being said, let's talk about its lore:
Anselm was born to a normal family, where he lived happily until he was ten years old, there was an incident in which his family was attacked by evil witches, resulting in him being kidnapped by a witch and losing his memory in the process, forgetting his identity and remaining under the "care" (rather captivity) of the witch who stole him from his life.
For 9 years he lived with the witch believing that she was his mother (that she had even changed his name to Adam), however after listening to a conversation where the truth was revealed he fled from her, ending with him going to the village. as far away as possible where they couldn't find it.
He managed to make a new life for himself while searching for clues about his past and who he really was. He got a job as a healer thanks to the magical skills he had managed to learn from the witch who abducted him. It has been 3 years since he escaped.
(By the way, I know that the drawing is not there but Anselm has two animal companions, a guard dog called shuck (referring to a creature called black shuck) and a white crow called luna.)
The relationship with Artemis would still be just as adorable, with Artemis being the most dominant, serious and protective while Anselm is the most passive, gentle and polite, they are like Charlie and Vaggie to a certain extent. and I love them with my life.
They met thanks to the connections that Anselm's "mother" had (when she still called him Adam) with the grinvoes, they managed to connect thanks to their lonely childhoods and tough youths, they understood each other very well and used to take certain getaways from time to time to behind his "parents" backs(you can't convince me that Artemis didn't escape even once a week from the Grinvoe to get a break from these bastards), it's even possible that Artemis helped Anselm hide from his kidnapper when he discovered the truth about being kidnapped as a child.
Anselm is not a witch,he just knows some healing magic and is a good doctor, he maintains a kind, helpful, optimistic and gentle personality in work.
Anselm is not very different from Evan, he just doesn't have total blindness, only partial, apart from that he is still the Disney prince that we all love.
His hobbies are reading about plants and architecture, playing instruments like the piano, sewing and cooking, and he is a very multitasking person thanks to all the time he has been alone.
For his relationship with artemis i take inspiration of the posts of @seraphvie,i just love the content they do about artemis.
Edit:i forgot to tag @m1ssm1

Alright, EP11 of El Cazador de la Bruja really did add some spice to the story!
Shoutout to the Psychic Lady (whose precise name I've already forgotten, I'm so sorry) for making Ellis and Nadie wear cat ears, that was delightful! She really got caught up in Ellis' whole thing as much as the girls got caught up in her witch act and the consequences of it (goodness, why can't they just let a woman have fun with her scam in peace?). It was fun to get to know Psychic Lady (and the inside knowledge of her witch scam; I too would make a goddess out of my beloved cat for a witch scam) and interesting to compare her to Ellis. She was so lonely, too! Asking Ellis to stay with her forever without even knowing her or anything about her situation really spoke for itself in my opinion. But the supernatural powers aside, there was not much she and Ellis had in common. Their personalities and take on life are very different; where Ellis is learning and exploring, Psychic Lady was still clinging to happier times of the past and let herself be guided by chances of maybe getting some parts of these happier times back. It was very unfortunate for her that in trying to use Ellis, or rather her past, to do so was what brought her down in the end. She, in @yokoya-sapphics 's words "girlbossed too close to the sun" and I do agree with that sentiment.
That aside, a somewhat new major player got introduced in the form of the council! (Maybe it is even The Council, maybe that's just their name, who knows!) They, or some of their members, give me distinct Enfant/Weekday Guy vibes with how they want to destroy Ellis simply because they think she's going to turn into a disaster for the way she is. It seems that they are not working with Glasses Guy, but Jody is apparently involved with them or part of them, which makes me curious if Glasses Guy has some sort of bigger organisation at his back as well or if he's just out there, doing his own thing. (I cannot wait to meet the other long-haired lady in the next episode though!) That some members of the Council just took steps to take Ellis out by themselves is a bit worrying. Now the girls not only have Camera Guy to worry about, but also the Shadow Guys (once they make themselves known that is), and I suppose to and extent Ricardo (shoutout again to Lirio for being an excellent assistant once again. I cannot believe Camera Guy went "Must have been another guy" simply because Ricardo had Lirio with him. I hope he never makes the connection between Ricardo and Lirio, it's bad enough that he is out for Ellis. I can only do some much frothing at the mouth because of rage with that guy, and should he set his eyes on Lirio as well, I'm simply going to implode out of a mixture of disgust and fury). Nadie is going to have her hands full! She already does with Ellis, I suppose, but given that she almost knocked herself out with a rug this episode, I am a little worried for the future!

Exploring Psychic Readings in Texas: A Journey into the Metaphysical Realm
psychic reading TEXAS
Texas, a state known for its rich history, diverse culture, and expansive landscapes, is also home to a vibrant community of psychics and spiritual advisors. From bustling cities like Dallas and Houston to the quieter, scenic towns, psychic readings have become an integral part of the spiritual tapestry in the Lone Star State. This article delves into the world of psychic readings in Texas, exploring their history, types, benefits, and some of the most renowned practitioners in the state.
The History of Psychic Readings in Texas
Psychic readings have deep roots in Texas, with influences from various cultures that have settled in the state over the centuries. Native American tribes, such as the Comanche and Apache, practiced forms of spiritual guidance and shamanism long before European settlers arrived. These practices often involved interpreting dreams, reading signs from nature, and connecting with ancestral spirits.
With the influx of settlers from Europe, Mexico, and other parts of the world, Texas became a melting pot of spiritual traditions. Mexican curanderos (healers) and brujas (witches) brought their own forms of spiritual healing and divination, while European settlers introduced tarot reading, palmistry, and other esoteric practices.
In the 20th century, the popularity of psychic readings grew alongside the New Age movement, leading to the establishment of numerous psychic shops and spiritual centers across Texas. Today, psychic readings are sought by people from all walks of life, seeking guidance, clarity, and a deeper understanding of their life's journey.
Types of Psychic Readings
Psychic readings in Texas encompass a wide range of practices, each offering unique insights and guidance. Here are some of the most popular types of psychic readings available:
1. Tarot Readings
Tarot readings are among the most widely recognized forms of psychic readings. They involve the use of a deck of 78 cards, each with its own symbolism and meaning. A tarot reader interprets the cards drawn by the client, providing insights into their past, present, and future. Tarot readings can address various aspects of life, including love, career, and personal growth.
2. Palmistry
Palmistry, or chiromancy, is the art of reading the lines and shapes of the hands to gain insights into a person's character and destiny. A palm reader examines the major and minor lines on the palm, as well as the shape and size of the fingers, to offer guidance on life events and personal traits.
3. Astrology
Astrology is the study of the movements and positions of celestial bodies and their influence on human affairs. Astrologers create birth charts based on the time and place of a person's birth, offering insights into their personality, relationships, and life path. Astrology readings can also include horoscopes and forecasts for future events.
4. Mediumship
Mediumship involves communicating with spirits of the deceased to deliver messages and guidance to the living. Mediums often have the ability to sense, hear, or see spirits, providing comfort and closure to those seeking connections with loved ones who have passed away.
5. Numerology
Numerology is the study of the mystical significance of numbers and their influence on human life. Numerologists analyze a person's name and birth date to uncover insights about their personality, destiny, and life path. Each number is believed to hold specific vibrations and meanings that can guide individuals on their spiritual journey.
6. Clairvoyance
Clairvoyance is the ability to perceive events or information beyond the physical senses. Clairvoyants often receive visual impressions, symbols, or images that provide insights into a person's life or future events. This type of psychic reading can be particularly helpful for gaining clarity on specific issues or decisions.
The Benefits of Psychic Readings
Psychic readings offer numerous benefits to individuals seeking guidance and understanding. Here are some of the key advantages:
1. Clarity and Insight
One of the primary benefits of psychic readings is the clarity and insight they provide. Whether you're facing a major life decision, experiencing emotional turmoil, or seeking direction in your career, a psychic reading can offer valuable perspectives and help you see your situation from a new angle.
2. Emotional Healing
Psychic readings can also facilitate emotional healing by addressing unresolved issues and providing closure. Mediumship readings, in particular, can bring comfort and peace to those grieving the loss of a loved one, helping them find solace and understanding.
3. Personal Growth
By uncovering hidden aspects of your personality and potential, psychic readings can support personal growth and self-awareness. Understanding your strengths, weaknesses, and life purpose can empower you to make positive changes and pursue your goals with confidence.
4. Spiritual Connection
For many, psychic readings deepen their spiritual connection and understanding of the metaphysical world. Whether through astrology, tarot, or mediumship, these readings can enhance your spiritual journey and foster a sense of connection to something greater than yourself.
5. Validation and Reassurance
Psychic readings can provide validation and reassurance during challenging times. Knowing that you're on the right path or receiving confirmation of your intuitions can boost your confidence and help you navigate life's uncertainties with greater ease.

Tips for Choosing a Psychic Reader
Selecting the right psychic reader is crucial for a meaningful and insightful experience. Here are some tips to help you find the best psychic reader for your needs:
1. Research and Reviews
Start by researching potential psychic readers and reading reviews from previous clients. Look for testimonials and feedback on their accuracy, professionalism, and overall experience. Personal recommendations from friends or family members can also be valuable.
2. Specialties and Services
Consider what type of reading you're seeking and find a psychic who specializes in that area. Whether it's tarot, mediumship, astrology, or another modality, choosing a reader with expertise in your desired area can enhance the quality of the reading.
3. Connection and Comfort
It's essential to feel comfortable and connected with your psychic reader. Many psychics offer introductory sessions or consultations, allowing you to gauge your compatibility before committing to a full reading. Trust your intuition and choose a reader who makes you feel at ease.
4. Ethical Practices
Ensure that your chosen psychic adheres to ethical practices and maintains confidentiality. A reputable psychic should provide clear information about their services, fees, and what to expect during a reading. Avoid psychics who make unrealistic promises or pressure you into additional services.
5. Trust Your Instincts
Ultimately, trust your instincts when choosing a psychic reader. Your intuition can guide you to the right person who can offer the insights and guidance you seek. If something feels off or too good to be true, it's best to look elsewhere.
Conclusion
Psychic readings in Texas offer a fascinating journey into the metaphysical realm, providing guidance, clarity, and spiritual connection. Whether you're seeking insights into your future, healing from past experiences, or personal growth, the diverse array of psychics in Texas can help you navigate your life's path with greater understanding and confidence. By choosing the right psychic reader and embracing the wisdom they offer, you can unlock new perspectives and enhance your spiritual journey in the Lone Star State.

Are you ready to explore a little-known (at least, State-side) Mexican, horror film from director Carlos Enrique Taboada? If so, prepare yourself for the 80s Grue-Crew review of Poison for the Fairies. Embedded in a world of folk tales and witchcraft and nominated for ten Ariel Awards (Mexico’s version of the Oscars) and winner of five ( including best picture, writer, and director), this film is a slow burn with interesting directorial choices, equally interesting cinematography, and a disturbing (or satisfying?) conclusion.
At the time of this writing, Poison for the Fairies is available to stream from Shudder and AMC+. The film is also available on physical media as a Blu-ray in the 3-film collection, “Mexican Gothic: The Films of Carlos Enrique Taboada,” from Vinegar Syndrome. In addition to Poison for the Fairies, the collection includes Rapiña (1975) and Darker Than Night (1975), both of which can also be streamed from Shudder.
If you’d like to hear more about the films of Carlos Enrique Taboada, check out these two episodes of Decades of Horror: The Classic Era:
EL LIBRO DE PIEDRA (1969, THE BOOK OF STONE) – Episode 127
EVEN THE WIND IS AFRAID (1968, Hasta el viento tiene miedo) – Episode 148
Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film, chosen by Bill, will be The Nest (1987), directed by Terence H. Winkless and starring Robert Lansing, Lisa Langlois, and 2,000 cockroaches. How can you miss that one?
Please let them know how they’re doing! They want to hear from you – the coolest, grooviest fans – so leave them a message or comment on the Gruesome Magazine Youtube channel, on the Gruesome Magazine website, or email the Decades of Horror 1980s podcast hosts at [email protected].

*
THE PINE AT TIMBER-LINE
What has bent you, Warped and twisted you, Torn and crippled you? — What has embittered you, O lonely tree?
You search the rocks for a footing, dragging scrawny roots; You bare your thin breast to the storms, and fling out wild arms behind you; You throw back your witch-like head, with wisps of hair stringing the wind.
You fight with the snows, You rail and shriek at the tempests. Old before your time, you challenge the cold stars.
Be still, be satisfied! Stand straight like your brothers in the valley, The soft green valley of summer down below.
Why front the endless winter of the peak? Why seize the lightning in your riven hands? Why cut the driven wind and shriek aloud?
Why tarry here?

It was a sweet family that lived in a nice house, your parents had a lot of money so your life was very complete, but one terrible day an accident happened and made you stay alone, so your uncles (who don't love you) have that you adopt They take your house and your wealth and you start living in a hidden corner of the hidden house of society. But you don't want to continue like this, and you decide to go outside and discover something that no one had seen before... fairies!!! Six Spooky Queer Novels
Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova
Photo Source Alex is a bruja and the most powerful witch in her family. But she's hated magic ever since it made her father disappear into thin air. So while most girls celebrate their Quinceañera, Alex prepares for her Deathday―the most important day in a bruja's life and her only opportunity to rid herself of magic. But the curse she performs during the ceremony backfires, and her family vanishes, forcing Alex to absorb all of the magic from her family line. Left alone, Alex seeks help from Nova, a brujo with ambitions of his own. -- Amazon
The Gilda Stories by Jewelle L. Gómez
Photo Source The winner of two Lambda Literary Awards (fiction and science fiction) The Gilda Stories is a very lesbian American odyssey. Escaping from slavery in the 1850s Gilda's longing for kinship and community grows over two hundred years. Her induction into a family of benevolent vampyres takes her on an adventurous and dangerous journey full of loud laughter and subtle terror. -- Goodreads
The Drowning Girl by Caitlín R. Kiernan
Photo Source Caitlín R. Kiernan is a master of her craft of dark fantasy-sci-fi horror and The Drowning Girl is an excellent place to start with her books. India Morgan Phelps — aka Imp — begins her first person story by telling the reader that she is schizophrenic and that she’s aware of her own unreliability. This, of course, calls into question the entirety of the book that follows. But this is not a story that asks you to guess whether the supernatural elements are real or whether they are just a product of Imp’s mental health status. Instead, it’s an investigation of how the paranormal — Imp’s encounter with a mysterious figure — interacts with mental illness. This post-modern creepy, if not outright scary story, also features a lesbian relationship between a cis and a trans woman! -- Autostraddle
Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters
Photo Source Shady Grove inherited her father’s ability to call ghosts from the grave with his fiddle, but she also knows the fiddle’s tunes bring nothing but trouble and darkness. But when her brother is accused of murder, she can’t let the dead keep their secrets. In order to clear his name, she’s going to have to make those ghosts sing. -- Goodreads
Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand
Photo Source Marion: the new girl. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find. Zoey: the pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is. Val: the queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives, a heart made of secrets, and a mouth full of lies. Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires. Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight… until now. -- Goodreads
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
Photo Source Written in his distinctively dazzling manner, Oscar Wilde’s story of a fashionable young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty is the author’s most popular work. The tale of Dorian Gray’s moral disintegration caused a scandal when it first appeared in 1890, but though Wilde was attacked for the novel’s corrupting influence, he responded that there is, in fact, “a terrible moral in Dorian Gray.” Just a few years later, the book and the aesthetic/moral dilemma it presented became issues in the trials occasioned by Wilde’s homosexual liaisons, which resulted in his imprisonment. Of Dorian Gray’s relationship to autobiography, Wilde noted in a letter, “Basil Hallward is what I think I am: Lord Henry what the world thinks me: Dorian what I would like to be—in other ages, perhaps. -- Goodreads
