My love for Rey is never ending. I love her tenacity, her drive and I can relate to her toughened spirit surviving on a harsh planet because I had to leave my home in search for better and survive all on my own this I thought mashed up well with Little Mermaid because she went in search for something different. And they both don't let anyone tell them what they can or can't do and defy so many odds all with a cute sidekick in tow Rey has bb8 and Ariel has Flounder so I thought why not have the combo making Flound-8.

When making it I decided to do mostly Ariel color based and Rey's silhouette so I used gauze material I dyed purple with a waist belt I made sewing faux leather and beige netting to tie back to the ocean Ariel theme. I made a green top and mermaid scale leggings for Ariel theme. I constructed the Rey staff from pvc parts attached to a pvc pipe sprayed painted antique gold as if found at bottom of ocean. Flound-8 was made with two styrofoam balls glued and coated mod podged with hand acrylic paint.

I started cosplaying back in 2016 to make friends and overcome my self-esteem and anxiety issues. Cosplaying has filled my life with such joy and I can so showcase my inner creative artsy side. I love to see a character costume that I imagine go from the sketch to the build crafting process to the completion and wearing it to cons. I tend to receive good responses from my builds like MerRey many loved how I combined these two worlds and how the mash-up of flounder and bb8 worked so flawlessly. I actually met someone doing an Ursula sith and our interaction was funny cuz were battled using the Force.
