I noticed something odd when I was playing The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie. During the Calvard daydream episode for Rean, in the Japanese dub it says that he wanted to buy some gifts for Alisa and the rest of the old Class VII, as well as his students, Towa, and his coworkers.

The fact that Alisa gets mentioned first before anyone else stuck out to me, cause in a way it implies that ReanxAlisa is indeed canon (which makes me so happy because I love these two so damn much). But in the English version, however, she doesn't get name dropped at all. Instead we got this:

It's completely different from the Japanese dub. Makes me wonder why Falcom felt the need to change it. My guess is it's probably because of the whole dumb harem system they have going on in this series (which they really need to drop because that kind of system just doesn't work unless it's with a silent protagonist) and they don't want to piss off fans who ship Rean with a different girl. Either way I just thought that it was interesting.

Getting people into Trails is so awkward. You can talk all you want about the fun characters, the great writing, and the moving stories but you always have to warn upfront about the Adoptive Sibling Romance, the Not Very Terrific Lesbians, etc. and it feels like you're shilling for the worst anime shit imaginable.
