“guess you’re right,” is his airy response, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. in reality, that kind of pisses him off. why doesn’t she mind her own business, huh? she’s younger than him, she should be showing him some respect! his eyes betray his thought, darting quickly to her grin and never matching it. neither had he tried to. kaga-chan... what’s with these nicknames, sheesh! kise hears her out, tilting his head as he considers it. fine, he’s interested. he turns around to his teammates again. “i’m leaving, thanks for practise!” and then he returns to the young nijimura, and beckons that she follow him as he collects his bag. “what’s this about, then?”

“ ki-channnnnnnnnnn! ” suzume stands at the top of basketball court , wearing a grin as other girls shoot her annoyed looks. once kise looks up , she waves , before putting hands on the bars that kept people from falling off and flipping herself over to land on the court. perfect landing. it’s a good thing practice for them was over too. “ i’ve been meaning to talk to you , ” head tilts , as grin covers face , “ do you happen to have any spare time ? ” / @copiedtemper

ki-chan?! kise looks over in annoyance at the familiarity from a voice immediately unknown, and is not sure who speaks until she sets herself apart from the rest. is it a fangirl? he’s running away if she’s the sort of fangirl to flip over a fence like that. a squint as he gets a closer look. she’s nijimura’s sister! and if she’d broken her leg doing that, it would definitely be kise’s fault! “hey, you should be more careful!” he, of all people, reprimands weakly. he raises the neckline of his shirt to carefully wipe away sweat, before jogging over. “uh, yeah, sure thing. is it about nijimuracchi joining basketball? kagamicchi already sorted that out.”

THE NEW YEAR HAS ARRIVED, and the male found himself listless.  Most people relished in the tradition of resolutions and goals. However, he couldn’t seem to find one for himself.  ❛ I wonder if it’s bad that I don’t have one this time around … ? ❜ Sure, he still had problems talking to girls——he’s tried to overcome that fear, but after the MISTAKE of choosing a horror flick based on a popular urban legend, he was all the more traumatized by it.

kise is listless 99% of the time, with the new year period included. sure, there are the obvious choices. eat healthier, drink more water, focus more at school. but his grades are fine, and he’s healthy because he wants to improve his basketball. perhaps the one, unchanging resolution that he has is to beat aomine in a one-on-one. but he won’t say it, not even to his upperclassman who probably already knows. golden eyes shift from the window, to kasamatsu. “oh, you don’t? guess that means you think you’re perfect, senpai,” he smirks, “so big-headed!”

alright. makes sense. but because she’s said this, a rustle over his shoulder TERRIFIES HIM-- is that nijimura????!!!?!? come to beat him up?!?! but no. it’s not. calm down. “nijimuracchi and kagamicchi aren’t the only problem kids, huh? i’m only saying this ‘cuz i know you used to be friends, but he’s a trouble-maker too!” yes. aomine has told kise about kagami’s awful friend yuki. but he doesn’t get what he hates so much since she’s super nice and cute! “maybe more so,” kise smiles, hands in pockets. “no?”
