Despite writing out all the Reiwa main Riders' age differences (thus far), I keep thinking Aruto would call Ikki something along the effect of aniki when they get close because it's not like Aruto's two years older than Ikki... :) Also it takes them a while to figure out the truth
Sakura: Ikki-nii, you do know that you don't have to pretend you like Hiden-san's jokes, right? Especially when they're worse than Papa's Ikki: But I can't help it! He looks so excited when I do. And his eyes shine like Daiji's did when he was at that age (sniffs) Daiji: ...nii-chan, we're like the same age [they are not in fact the same age]
Ace, picking at a plate of afternoon tea cakes and macarons: Say, wasn't Hiden born in 1997 Touma, watching Ikki and Aruto play soccer with some kids on the front lawn of his bookstore with a fond smile: Yeah, why? Ace: Huh. Could've sworn Igarashi was born in 1999 Touma: ...Ikki's younger? Ace: ...you didn't know? Touma: Ace: *they both watch Aruto call out "aniki" before trying to make a pass and accidently kicking the ball into his face, causing a panicked Ikki to run over to him* Ace: ...I'm gonna tell them :D

Inside the Outset: Evoking a Space of Passage is a project by artist and filmmaker Rosa Barba following an invitation by Point Centre for Contemporary Art in Nicosia and curator Mirjam Varadinis to propose and realize a project in Cyprus.
The work proposed by the artist in 2013, started in 2014 and consists of two parts: a film and a long-term open-air cinema installation. The project was then presented to the Italian Council and received the first prize at the international competition (Third Edition) in 2018, and was awarded a grant from DGAAP (Directorate General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries), Italy.
Barba’s film is exclusively shot in Cyprus, including underwater shots of the Mazotos shipwreck, as well as aerial shots from archaeological sites. It is an investigation into the loaded, transforming topography that is already palpable in the landscape, before we actually understand what language it creates for our society. In that, the film follows Barba’s artistic approach to examine liminal states which manifest in between contested spaces, both mentally and geographically, in order to allow for a new perspective. The inaugural screening took place in Autumn 2021 at the open-air cinema installation in the Buffer Zone.
Inside the Outset: Evoking a Space of Passage, 2021
16mm film transferred to digital and 8k film, sound, 31:15 min
Produced by Point Centre for Contemporary Art, funded by the Italian Council. A collaboration with Famagusta Avenue Garage.

(sorry i saw you post about crocheting and couldn't help myself ily sorry if this is ass forgive me)
Sitting thigh to thigh on the couch next to Sugishita, you tilt your head curiously, putting aside your current project to appraise his. What was once an old t-shirt is about to become something new, the sleeves and collar cut off of it.
You love this about him - practical in nature, a good man with a heart as big as he is. The love inside of you ebbs and flows like a river, keeping you glued to his every movement. You technically started crafting before he did this evening, plopping down with your crochet bag a few minutes before he sat down next to you with crafts of his own in mind. The two of you have worked in peaceful silence but you find yourself drawn to him, unable to look away.
You watch as he precisely ties each of the flaps into a knot, each end pulled tightly to ensure everything will remain secure once he flips the fabric inside out. The tip of his tongue peeks out from between his lips, a loose strand of dark hair hanging down his shoulder despite your best attempts to tie it all off of his face before sitting down to begin working.
Catching yourself exhaling dreamily, you glance away to hide your smile, focusing on the rows of stitches sitting in your lap. Keeping from sneaking glances proves difficult the longer you test yourself though and your eyes gradually drift back to him, trimming the excess off of each of the knots that have built the support at the bottom of the work in progress bag.
“It looks good so far, Kyo.”
He nods, eyes focused on his task. You decide to do the same, finishing the last of the stitches in the row that will officially complete your current project, tying them off just as you feel his eyes on your hands.
“It’s for you.”
You extend the headband in his direction and he takes it with a sheepish half smile, thumb and forefinger rubbing the soft yarn he knows you selected with him in mind. The practicalities of your nature make him feel all the more supported and loved, safe and secure in a place where he can bloom into the man he truly is beneath the tall dark shadow he carries.
“It’s funny you say that because this…” Hee reaches to his side and picks up the bag, bunching it in his hand. “Is for you.”
He smooths out the cotton and flips it inside out, showing you the design on the front of the bag. An ages old shirt designed for a community wide clean up, little pink stains splattered just above the screen printed graphic. You remember the day you first wore this like yesterday, plucking it from his closet during one of your first sleepovers and
“Is that the shirt from…?” You ask and Sugishita nods, chuckling. “Yeah, from that first time eating one of Umemiya’s ridiculous watermelons.”
You lean forward, collecting the tote bag. Taking it between your hands with a grin, you look over the painstakingly perfect cuts and effort put into making it something you’ll continue to enjoy forever, something he created after you fussed at him for making his own life unnecessarily hard.
“Remember how he had to haul it in on his shoulder?”
Kyotaro asks you with a chuckle, sliding the headband you made for him onto his head. It’s a better fit than you expected. The strand that was dangling over his shoulder is tucked back and away, now hanging down his back. Setting the bag aside, you crawl across the sofa on your knees and position yourself on his lap with your calves tucked beneath your knees on either side of his legs.
“I remember what a mess we made eating it.” Tucking a few errant strands of hair beneath the headband, you beam up at him while he nods in agreement. “Stained this shirt so bad you could never wear it again.” His dark eyes dart from the bag back to your pretty face, his hands naturally falling to your hips to hold you in place on his thighs. “Maybe this could be the next best thing.”
Giggling, you lean forward and kiss him, grateful for those big hands to steady you. Another kiss, and another, and just a few more and you have to break away to catch your breath.
“The headband works,” he mutters, leaning in to kiss you again. “Keeps it out of my face.”
There’s a twinkle in his eye that makes your thighs flex on either side of him, itching for comfort and relief, all too aware of what that look means. A few beats pass and you find yourself being gently placed on your back on the couch, thighs spread and pajama shorts pulled halfway down.
“Let’s see who is the messier eater, Nana.” He taunts, hair pulled off of his face and giving you a view at the slope of his nose and the smirk on his face. “Can’t ruin this the same way you ruined that,” he looks upward toward the headband and downward to the bag which draws a giggle from you that is quickly swallowed by a salacious moan when his face dips between your thighs.
Hdnddndjbdudbeudue ueueueueueue KENDALL!!!! What if I sob and cry and whine and wail and yowl and DIE?!?! You can’t just drop this in my inbox, my fragile little heart can’t take all this 😭

every single time i see someone talk about how the ancients (more specifically the amaurotines, because they always mean the amaurotines) weren't that bad--sure, their society had a few little problems, but overall they were responsible and compassionate and knew what they were doing, and had a good thing going that shouldn't have been interfered with even internally--i think about them turning the violent death of a grieving coworker's disabled daughter, the events of which they mock him for, into a funny story to share around the water cooler.
i think about how someone in a high position of authority, who was in charge of the legal aspect of her existence--of deciding whether she should be euthanized or not, in fact!--ignored blatant red flags for her being sexually abused when he was fully in a position to help. obviously, as fucked as what was happening with meteion was that was not the case. and hermes, i love you. but holy shit is 'haha yeah i made a little girl servant i have complete power over, and didn't register or approve her existence with the government like i'm supposed to. which also would have involved people looking her over. because she's my pet project :)' a REALLY bad look. people should have been investigating him, and the person whose primary job it was to investigate him went 'oh okay, you're an authority figure and i know you so i'll take your word for it :)'
i think about how that authority figure barely remembered she died or even existed, and thought the idea that she could be murdered or should be grieved at all was an odd little thought her quirky dad was self-harming by making such a big deal out of. i think about the fact that these people preen about their ~vigorous intellectual debates~ and ~constructive free exchange of ideas about society,~ and yet after untold thousands of years this idea is such an utterly unthinkable fringe position that supposedly no one has ever heard of it.
(no shade on hythlodaeus enjoyers but holy shit i do NOT like this man, and this is one of the biggest reasons why. jesus fucking christ.)
like i'm sorry but no amount of pretty parks and sharing and being polite and paying lip service to responsible creation, and speaking nicely to children (sometimes) and meaning well (sometimes), and just generally not being a bunch of malicious mustache-twirling cartoon villains, changes the fact that amaurot was a society of cruel evil selfish bastards who had the power to treat the world like their personal toybox and get away with it. and who are also strongly implied to have been colonizers long before the final days, no less. and it horrifies me how it sails over so many people's heads that the entire point of the Nicey Nice Everyone Shares and Gets Along and is Happy is that it's absolutely fucking terrifying how effective they clearly were at stifling any meaningful accountability, opposition, or reform.
(don't get me started on the take i keep seeing everywhere that the amaurotines are analogous to real-life indigenous genocide victims, oh my god do NOT get me started, jesus wept)
like. this isn't just annoyance over incorrect or kind of insensitive takes. the vast majority of the time when i see people try to defend the ancients, they say with their whole chests a mountain of absolutely horrible things--implied or mask off--about real life issues, and seeing things like this reduced down to 'having a few little problems, but really what society doesn't' is just. upsetting. it is really upsetting and i wish it was not such a constant, and that i could find more people actually talking about the nature of amaurot's fuckery without at best getting immediately derailed into SO YOU'RE SAYING THEY SHOULD ALL BE DRAGGED OUT AND SHOT IN THE STREET, IS THAT IT
all this is to say: setting aside any wider-scale events, it boggles my fucking mind that just for that passage alone the fandom as a whole wouldn't cheer hermes on if he started setting people in his vicinity on fire lmao

Anyhow, about a year ago I made a new friend, Eleanor. She started telling me that what Dale was doing was abuse, even though he had never punched me or injured me, and that I hadn’t done anything to deserve it. At first I thought she was exaggerating, because I’ve known women that got it so much worse than me. And Dale can be really sweet and supportive when you least expect it. We’ve had a lot of good times, believe it or not. Anyhow, Eleanor kind of opened my eyes up. So I started standing up to Dale about how he talks to me, and told him I was thinking of moving out for a while. And what’s happened is that he’s gone nuts. I swear, something has happened to him. He’s backhanded me twice in the last eight months, and another time he threw me over a chair and my back went out. So I finally moved out. For now I’m not planning to get back with him, but I guess it depends partly on what he does in the abuser program.

Archaeologists Discover Secret Tunnel Inside Great Pyramid of Giza
Perhaps it could lead to a real-life Chamber of Secrets.
A 30-foot-long hidden corridor was discovered by scientists Thursday near the main entrance of the 4,500-year-old Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, Reuters reported.
The pyramid — considered the last of the seven wonders of the world still standing — has been undergoing regular searches using infrared and cosmic-ray imaging since 2015 as a part of the Scan Pyramids project.
Officials said the newly unearthed hallway could lead to more knowledge about the structure.
“We’re going to continue our scanning so we will see what we can do … to figure out what we can find out beneath it, or just by the end of this corridor,” said Mostafa Waziri, head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities.
The Great Pyramid was constructed as a monumental tomb around 2560 BC during the reign of the Pharaoh Khufu, or Cheops. Built to 479 feet, it now stands at 139 meters and was the tallest structure made by humans until the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 1889.
Five rooms atop the Pharaoh Khufu burial chamber in another part of the pyramid are also thought to have been built to redistribute the weight of the massive structure, according to Nature journal.
It is also possible the pharaoh had more than one burial chamber, Waziri added.
Waziri also revealed that the corridor could be used to help balance the weight or contain a secret chamber within the structure.
The Great Pyramids were built in 2560 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu (reign circa 2551 b.c. to 2528 b.c.) and stood at a whopping 479 feet — the tallest man-made structure until the Eiffel Tower in 1889.
This secret passage is not the first thing to be discovered within the structure. In 2022, scientists released a study that showed two “mysterious voids” within the pyramid from a 2017 scan.
“We plan to field a telescope system that has upwards of 100 times the sensitivity of the equipment that has recently been used at the Great Pyramid,” wrote the researchers.
“Since the detectors that are proposed are very large, they cannot be placed inside the pyramid, therefore our approach is to put them outside and move them along the base.”
“In this way, we can collect muons from all angles in order to build up the required data set.”
