There is no better analysis of Trump's motivation than Fintan O’Toole’s essay in The New York Review of Books, The Ultimate Deal:

"Secrets are a kind of currency. They can be hoarded, but if kept for too long they lose their value. Like all currencies, they must, sooner or later, be used in a transaction—sold to the highest bidder or bartered as a favor for which another favor will be returned. To see the full scale of Donald Trump’s betrayal of his country, it is necessary to start with this reality. He kept intelligence documents because, at some point, those secrets could be used in a transaction. What he was stockpiling were the materials of treason. He may not have known how and when he would cash in this currency, but there can be little doubt that he was determined to retain the ability to do just that."

Another thought: Trump also collects trophies. Clearly, he considered these documents to be trophies of his inside information and status level.

Trump collected two things throughout his life: bargaining chips and status symbols (trophies). Status symbols are worthless without display. Thus, Trump displayed them on occasion to people without clearance. We know of a few. I bet there were many more.

These documents were status symbols and bargaining chips and potential get-out-of-financial-ruin cards...if sold to the highest bidder. The fact that an alarming rate of intelligence agents were killed or exposed in 2021 combined with the Saudi 2 billion dollar investment into Jared Kushner post Trump presidency ties motive together. Trump runs a shell game, constantly distracting the public while he commits treason for personal gain.

The Panic! At The Disco story is wild tbh. Image being like. 19-- idk how old they were -- all of this information is going to be the vague memory of what I learned in the late 2010s with just a few details I've learned recently wikipedia check: holy fuck they were all in high school. Anyways you're barely an adult and you make a band with your friend but you need a bassist, so you start auditioning bassists okay I did check the wikipedia page Urie was on guitar through being a classmate of the third member. And this guy happens to be crazy good at singing so he instantly replaces the guy who is the main creative force of the band on vocals. And then he grows up to be evil. (Or maybe just unfairly demonized for small wrongs???)

But before that happens you have to get another bassist. (For some reason I was dead convinced the lore was Urie auditioned on bass :P) On your first tour, opening for another band meant to hit it big that's doomed to be a band meant to fall apart, your band blows up. You're the biggest thing in the scene; you're driving the scene. The creator is acting gay with the future-evil guy. Original members are slowly leaving. The creator is replaced in the gay dynamic with a bassist from the greatest indie rock band of this era that never signed to a label.

And when the dust settles, the kid who was the last addition to the original lineup is the only member of the band, and he's the biggest diva this town has ever seen. The last things he did of note were collaborate with Taylor Swift and sing the credits on the sequel to the most popular modern Disney film. After that internet turns on him and Panic!'s final album 3 years later is barely remarked upon. What. a. ride.
