The Beehive Cluster over the Great Herdsman, Glencoe.
Scotland's most famous mountain - Buachaille Etive Mòr is iconic for a reason. Viewed from the A82 road on the way past it looks incredible, and even more so if summited - with amazing views over the flat, vast Rannoch Moor that lies off to the East.
The Beehive Cluster is an open star cluster in the constellation Cancer. One of the nearest open clusters to Earth, it contains a larger population of stars than other nearby bright open clusters holding around 1,000 stars. Under dark skies, the Beehive Cluster looks like a small nebulous object to the naked eye, (a little fuzzy patch of light) and has been known since ancient times. It was among the first objects that Galileo studied with his telescope.
This looks quite beautiful and serene but I was well aware how dangerous the scene was. At this area there is a huge bog which had partially frozen in areas as the temperature dipped to a cool minus 7 celsius. In the pitch black with my feet sliding about next to water and rocks is always something that makes you work much slower and deliberately.

s/o to my 11th great-grandfather Paul who was a herdsman in Thuringia, and whose son, grandson, and great-grandson all became Lutheran ministers for the same tiny church in the village of Rottleben (population 630 as of 2011)
#my source says he was a herdsman 'at Norwerk' but I learned 'Norwerk' is an archaic German word for 'villa' and is synonymous with 'Schloss#the fact they didn't feel the need to specify WHICH villa or schloss makes me think it was the main one#the Schloss at Rudolstadt is too young to be the one he worked for BUT#it was built over a Renaissance complex that burned down in 1735#so that could be it#anyways props to him for getting his boys those good good educations and equipping them to rise above his station#unfortunately his great-great-grandson went to Zweibrucken where he met some Swiss who turned him Mennonite :/#and then HIS son became Amish rip#wait a few generations and your progeny will return to their Lutheran roots Paul. we appreciate you.#we're Presbyterian now but you don't know what that is. I'll tell you when I see you#genealogy adventures#x

Miniature dog and khait effigies for a Wardi funeral. These are clay figurines that have been painted and decorated with great care by a skilled artist. Both include real hairs from the individual animals they have been modeled after. The dog is collared, showing that it is a loyal pet rather than a lowly feral scrounger. The khait is fully bridled and ready to carry the deceased in their journey.
---
It is believed that the souls of the deceased, once freed of their bodies, undergo a month-long journey to reach rebirth in the lunar lands. This journey is full of perils. It begins in the realm of the earth where the soul is naked and vulnerable and traveling through complete darkness. Evil spirits dwell within this realm and may try to capture the soul or lead them astray, and the way is twisting and obscured in shadows. Even after escaping this darkness, the soul still must travel an arduous and winding path through the realm of the sky in order to reach their destination.
A khait and a dog are traditionally offered as funerary goods (in addition to food, water, wine, clothing, weapons, and other needs) to assist the soul in their travels- the khait will ease their passage in their long journey and carry them swiftly, and the dog will navigate through earthly darkness and dense cloud by scent, and protect the soul from harm.
Ideally, one of the deceased's own living khait and hunting/guard dogs will be killed at the funeral (typically the most beloved of their animals, as who would be better company than that?) so that they can have familiar and loyal helpers in their lonely journey. However, there are tremendous class barriers to ownership and disposability of a khait, and well-bred working dogs (while significantly more accessible) aren't ubiquitously available, and many people do not consider captured feral dogs to be a worthy replacement. As such, funerals with full animal offerings tend to be limited to higher status individuals.
Everyday people still need protection on their journeys, and animal effigies can be appropriate replacements for the real thing. These effigies are usually designed with great specificity to represent known individual animals that have already died (often including the animal's actual hair, as seen here). The soul of the represented animal will recognize the effigy as its body, and can be called into the icon so that it may accompany the deceased. These effigies (along with any other necessary grave goods) will be placed onto the pyre and burned along with the body so that the traveling soul will be sent off with everything they need.
Some folk traditions have semi-legendary local animal spirits who will be represented instead of a personally familiar animal. This often develops around a small community 'sharing' one historically extant animal for their funeral effigies as a matter of practicality, developing a sense of attachment to this animal as an aspect of shared identity, and adding layers of legend to the animal's story with the passage of time.
For example, a very popular legendary guide in the northeastern rural parts of Ephennos is Chisnops-Inreña (which very closely translates to 'Orange Son Of A Bitch'), a legendary livestock guardian dog. The animal was said to have been the biggest, meanest, ugliest motherfucker around, but was an unshakably loyal and fierce guardian, as noble as a dog (not the noblest of animals by any means) can possibly be. He is said to have fought off everything from jackals to lions to cattle thieves in his day, and died protecting his herdsman master from an infamous man-eating king hyena, only succumbing to his own wounds when the great beast lay dead. His spirit was later used as a guide in his master's funeral, and local legend states that the same spirit has been seen following herdsmen and their cattle ever since, as not even death could keep him from his duties. Such a dog would make an excellent guide and protector in the journey to the afterlife, and effigies of him are favored in the funerals of northeastern Ephenni pastoralists.
A lovingly crafted Orange Son Of A Bitch
#Partly a rehash of prev post BUT WITH PICS!!!!!!!#chisnops more literally means 'bitch-born'. The word 'bitch' doesn't have the same breadth of connotations as in english#and pretty directly means 'female dog' but calling someone 'chisnops' is functionally Very close to 'son of a bitch'#Inrenna is a color word for orange. Most of the western Wardi dialects pronounce double N syllables like ñ (in- /rey/ - nya)#while others will enunciate like 'in- /reyn/- nah'. Spelled it inreña here to indicate Ephenni dialect

An American Prayer
Do you know the warm progress under the stars?
Do you know we exist?
Have you forgotten the keys to the kingdom?
Have you been born yet and are you alive?
Let's reinvent the Gods, all the myths of the ages
Celebrate symbols from deep elder forests
Have you forgotten the lessons of the ancient war?
We need great golden copulations
Fathers are cackling in trees of the forest
Our mother is dead in the sea
Do you know we are being led to slaughters by placid admirals
And the fats slow generals are getting obscene on young blood
Do you know we are ruled by TV?
The moon is dry blood beast
Guerrilla bands are rolling numbers
In the next block of green vine
Amassing for warfare on
Innocent herdsman who are just dying
Oh, great creator of being grant us one more hour
To perform our art and perfect our lives
Moths and atheists are doubly divine and dying
We live, we die, and death not ends it
Journey we more into the nightmare
Cling to life, our passioned flower
Cling to cunts and cocks of despair
We got our final vision by clap
Columbus's groin got filled with green death
I touched her thigh and death smiled
We have assembled inside this ancient and insane theatre
To propagate our lust for life
And flee the swarming wisdom of the streets
The barns are stormed
The windows kept and only one of all the rest
To dance and save us with the divine mockery of words
Music inflames temperament
When the true King's murderers are allowed to roam free
A thousand magicians arise in the land
Where are the feasts were promised?
Where is the wine?
The new wine, dying on the vine

Arcturus Talon Abraxas
Arcturus is the fourth brightest star in the sky: only Sirius, Canopus and Alpha Centauri outshine this orange giant. It is a variable star in the last stages of its life.
Arcturus takes its name from its nearness to the sky Bears, Big and Little Bears, Ursa Major, and Ursa Minor. From Arktouros or Arctophilax, "the Bear Guard" and also called "the Bear Watcher". The "Herdsman", or "driver of oxen" are other titles. Arcturus is the brightest star in the constellation of Bootes the Herdsman so it is also called Alpha Bootis. The pattern of stars in this constellation forms the shape of a kite or an ice cream cone; seeing a Herdsman driving the bears around the sky.
Arcturus is believed to be one of the first stars named by ancient observers. It is translated as "Guardian of the Bear" and is a name that was once used for the entire constellation of Bootes. It is easily found by noting that the curve of the handle of the Big Dipper is part of a circle - an arc - and we can just "follow the arc to Arcturus."
Arcturus is a giant with a diameter about 18 times our Sun's and four times as much mass. Its surface temperature is about 1500 degrees lower than Sun's but its much greater surface area results in an outpouring of energy at a rate making it 105 times as luminous as Sun.
Recent observations by the European Space Agency's Hipparcos Space Astrometry Mission have revised Arcturus's distance to 36.7 light years from us.
Arcturus has the largest "proper motion" -- motion across the sky -- of any of the bright stars except Alpha Centauri, the nearest star to our solar system. In 100 years Arcturus moves across the sky a distance equal to about half the width of your little finger held at arm's length.
At its distance of nearly 37 light years, this motion, when combined with its motion along our line of sight measured spectroscopically using the Doppler shift, yields a space velocity of about 76 miles per second with respect to our Sun. Most stars in our vicinity are moving relatively slowly with respect to Sol because of our common motion carrying us around the center of the Milky Way galaxy every 250 million years. Arcturus is in an elongated orbit around the Galaxy's center that carries it out into the Galaxy's halo.
It was formed in the halo of the Milky Way and is an interloper in our neighborhood. It has been visible to the naked eye for only about half a million years. It will be a little closer in a few thousand years, but then will recede from our view in another half million years as it continues its journey on a different orbital path.
Arcturus's great brilliance makes it possible to obtain very detailed spectra and to determine its chemical composition. Arcturus is deficient in elements such as silicon, aluminum, and iron which are formed in stars. It contains only about a fifth as much of these elements as Sun. These elements are formed inside stars, mixed into the interstellar medium as stars explode, and incorporated into subsequent generations of stars.
This chemical composition reinforces our identification of Arcturus as a member of the galactic halo. It was formed about 10 billion years ago, in a generation of star formation prior to that in which our Sun was formed, before the interstellar medium could be enriched in elements such as silicon and iron. Arcturus, about twice as old as Earth and the solar system, is the oldest thing most of us have ever seen, and is the oldest object easily visible to the naked eye.
The constellation Bootes has the shape of a kite with the bright star Arcturus at the point of the kite where the tail is attached.
Arcturus is a red supergiant star and the fourth brightest star in the whole sky.
It is visible from the northern hemisphere in the evening from about March early summer. Red-supergiant stars are precursors to super-novae, neutron stars, and black holes (so it is believed). It is approximately thirty-six light years from Earth.
According to E W Bullinger (The Witness of the Stars ), a biblical interpreter of the constellations, the ancient Egyptians called Bootes Smat, which means 'one who rules, subdues, and governs'. They also called him Bau , which means also 'the coming one'.
It was famous with the seamen of early days and as a calender sign regulated their annual festival by its movements in relation to the sun. But its influence always was dreaded, as is seen in Aratos writings. Its acronycal rising (the latest rising visible at sunset) fixed the date of the husbandmen's Lustratio frugum; and allusions were made to its character as unfavorably affecting the farmer's work; "When moist Arcturus clouds the sky". Other contemporary authors confirmed this stormy reputation, while all classical calendar's gave the dates of its risings and settings.
An Egyptian astronomical calendar of the 15th century BC, associates it with the star Antares in the immense sky figure Menat; and Lockyer claims it as one of the objects of worship in Nile temples, as it was in the temple of Venus at Ancona in Italy.
In India it was the 13th nakshatra, Svati, "the Good Goer", or perhaps "Sword", but figured as a Coral Bead, Gem, or Pearl; and known there also as Nishtya, "Outcast", possibly from its remote northern situation far outside of the zodiac, whence, from its brilliancy, it was taken to complete the series of Hindu asterisms.
The Arabs knew Arcturus as Al Simak al Ramih *, sometimes translated the "Leg of the Lance-bearer", and again, perhaps more correctly, the "Lofty Lance-bearer".
Another Arabic name; Al Haris al Sama, the "Keeper of Heaven," perhaps came from the star's early visibility in the twilight owing to its great northern declination, as though on the lookout for the safety and proper deportment of his lesser stellar companions, and so "Patriarch Mentor of the Train." This subsequently became Al Haris al Simak, "the Keeper of Simak", probably referring to Spica, "the Unarmed One".
From the Arabic title came various forms: Al Bamec, Aramec, Aremeah, Ascimec, Azimech, and Azimeth, Somech haramach, Aramakh, Kheturus.
Al Biruni mentioned Arcturus as the Second Calf of the Lion, the early Asad (Lion) in early Arabian astronomy; Spica being the First Calf.
The Greeks had a word meaning "Javelin-bearer", while Bayer had Gladius, Kolanza, and Pugio, all applied to Arcturus, which probably marked in some early drawing the "Sword", "Lance", or "Dagger" in the Hunter's (Orion) hand. Similarly it took the title Alkameluz of the whole constellation.
It has been identified with the Chaldaeans' Papsukal, "the Guardian Messenger", the divinity of their 10th month Tibitu.
On the Euphrates it was the Shepherd of the Heavenly Flock, or the Shepherd of the Life of Heaven, undoubtedly the Sib-zi-anna of the inscriptions; the star eta (Mufrid) being often included in this, and thus making one of the several pairs of Euphratean Twin Stars.
Another title was Audiens, which seems unintelligible unless the word be a misprint for Audens, the "Bold One".
With others it was Arturig and Ariture, or the Carlwaynesterre from the early confusion in applying the title Arcturus to Charles' Wain as well as to Bootes and its lucida.
Bootes is the cultivator or Ploughman who drives the Bears, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor around the Pole Star, Polaris. The bears, tied to the Polar Axis, are pulling a plough behind them, tilling the heavenly fields "in order that the rotations of the heavens should never cease".
Manilius 1st century AD writes "they will be kings under kings and ministers of state, and be charged with the guardianship of the people, custodianship of great houses and treasures, who confine their business to the care of another's home so that the wealth of monarchs and temple finances will be in their keeping".
Any type of occupation that requires planning is influenced by Bootes. These people are the driving force behind government and large corporations. They are the planners and designers, the movers and shakers, who "make the world go round". Bootes symbolizes the elder, the sage, the wise old man who is interested in principles and underlying causes, theories, ideologies, and how the past effects the future. (Conservative) politicians, economists, draftsmen, architects, designers of all kinds.

I initially thought I was experiencing the Mandela Effect because I always believed that Argus has one thousand eyes, whereas lots of sites reffer to him as the "hundred-eyed giant".
So I did a quick search on the Internet and... apparently even the ancient poets couldn't agree on how many eyes does this guy have.
Here there are mentioned only four eyes:
Hesiod or Cercops of Miletus, Aegimius Frag 5 : "And [Hera] set a watcher upon her [Io], great and strong Argos, who with four eyes looks every way. And the goddess stirred in him unwearying strength: sleep never fell upon his eyes; but he kept sure watch always."
Aeschylus didn't even bother to write a number and described him as "myriad-eyed":
Aeschylus, Prometheus Bound 566 ff (trans. Weir Smyth) (Greek tragedy C5th B.C.) : "Io : Oh, oh! Aah! Aah! A gad-fly (oistros), phantom (eidôlon) of earth-born (gêgenês) Argos is stinging me again! Keep him away, O Earth! I am fearful when I behold that myriad-eyed herdsman. He travels onward with his crafty gaze upon me; not even in death does the earth conceal him, but passing from the shades he hounds me, the forlorn one, and drives me famished along the sands of the seashore."
Pseudo-Apollodorus simply said that he has eyes all over his body:
Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca 2. 4 ff (trans. Aldrich) (Greek mythographer C2nd A.D.) : "The son of Ekbasos (Ecbasus) [son of Argos, son of Zeus and Niobe,] was Agenor, and his son was Argos surnamed Panoptes. This man had eyes all over his body. He was extremely powerful, and killed the bull that raged through Arkadia (Arcadia) whose hide he used as a cloak."
Finally, Ovid describes him as having one hundred eyes:
Ovid, Metamorphoses 1. 624 ff (trans. Melville) (Roman epic C1st B.C. to C1st A.D.) : "The goddess won her rival, but distrust lingered and still she feared her husband's tricks, till, for safe-keeping, she had given the cow to Arestorides (Son of Arestor)--Argus of the hundred eyes, all watching and on duty round his head, save two which took in turn their sleep and rest.
Finally, according to Statius he has one thousand eyes:
Statius, Silvae 5.4.1 (trans. Mozley) (Roman elegy C1st A.D) : "The thousand eyes of sacred Argus, which he kept but in alternate watchfulness, nor even waked in all his frame at once."

The Bootes Contradiction ~ 25 Sep 2024
The Bootes Contradiction ~ 25 Sep 2024, Philip Sedgwick
Before diving in, a Vimeo recording (1 hr. 32 min) of the interview with Sasha Ravich during the AstroMajic event is now available. This is a limited time offer. The video will only be available for viewing through 8 November. For the price of an afternoon matinee, you can tune in to hear the source story of Galactic Astrology, what can be perceived with Galactic phenomena and more. Here’s the link to order the interview and other galactic products and consultations. And now, onto the post.
On or about 09 October, the Sun passes the degree of the Bootes Void (estimated for 2025, 16 Libra 40 / 57 N 50). On or about 10 October, the Sun to Bootes Supercluster (estimated for 2025 18 Li 09 / 34 N 53).
This is more than a fine kettle of fish; this is a most curious contradiction. First, a few background details for perspective. In space there exist eighteen defined superclusters. A supercluster is a collection of galaxies and stars gravitationally compressed into a small region of space. These are spaces of incredible object density. In space there are also three (possibly more, depending upon source material) defined void regions in space. These are areas in which objects appear not so much, thus a void.
Curiously, when projected on the ecliptic the Bootes Void and the Bootes Supercluster coexist in virtual conjunction separated by about a degree and a half of longitude. Looking vertically relative to ecliptic, the void stands about thirteen degrees above the supercluster. This is most fascinating. Two objects seemingly portraying opposite sides of the Bootes nature share virtually the same place on the ecliptic.
Any individual with a connection to the Bootes Void simultaneously enjoys a connection with the Bootes Supercluster.
To personify one of the maladies of Libra, one must make a decision which entity one wishes to portray and when. Or must they? Can a person have it both ways?
A bit about Bootes in clustering the myths together. In ancient lore Bootes was a herdsman (a goddess according to the Egyptians) with an ingenious streak. Bootes is credited with inventing the plough (plow). This creation won great favor with the goddess of agriculture, Ceres, and earned him a place in the heavens upon his death. His agricultural chops also won favor with Dionysus, keeper of the sacred wine, for obvious reasons. Also, Bootes kept the pole stars in check, as part of his flock - a Libran balancing act requiring great attention.
Within Bootes’ nature there is fertility, ingenuity, an ability to arbitrate the position of opposing entities and skill at keeping the flock together. With little imagination, these attributes certainly translate to useable talents that can be applied in the real world or online (implying only a more etheric, nebulous quality to all things done in the realm of cyber).
This fosters the question, should one choose to portray the demonstrated skill sets of Bootes in life, or would slipping into the void be a better option? Is there a more correct option? Perhaps this is like one who cultivates great knowledge that may help the world, and chooses to sit on a mountain top meditating and praying for the world to evolve. Perhaps this is like one who cultivates great knowledge that may help the world and chooses to get in the thick of it with all the people of the world and work in the trenches to ensure a positive outcome for the planet.
A few considerations deserve percolation while deciding which option best suits ones dharmic disposition.
For diving into the void:
Ensure that there is no embarrassment, false humility or imposter syndrome impacting the choice. Know that ones potency is felt with equal intensity while in the void. Recognize the sensation of ghosting felt by others in your absence. Create mitigation communication to abate the disruption caused by this effect. Agree to use ones non physical presence in all known impactful matters. Cultivate a clear intentional focus for life objectives and influence. Master instantaneous, at-a-distance energy transfer methods.
For utilizing the assets of a supercluster
Check that one has no agenda of creating favor or influence as a result of ones talents. Function from the standpoint that when the world becomes a better place because of ones action, life in the world is more palatable and less stressful. Use no gravitational or cosmic influence with the agenda of personal gain... realizing that a betterment of one life likely results from so doing... it’s simply not the intention behind the action. Decide to become a master in perceiving interpersonal energy dynamics and reporting those intricacies to those struggling to maintain personal independence or those mired within the influence of another.
Soon, the Sun transits the Bootes degrees, applying unapologetic attention to the Bootes effect. Will a person choose engagement or withdrawal, or perhaps they feel differing urges at different times? The Sun should ensure that all urges are clear, and hopefully, promptly engaged.
Regardless of the mode of life involvement chosen, recognize engagement, direct or indirect, is in progress. Establish personal energetic intention to support either mode and engage fully and without reservation or hesitation. If the mode of engagement selected presents a radical change of life operational dynamics, consider informing those in your personal sphere of your decision. This ensures that no unwanted energy threads get directed toward you, regardless of your engagement or disengagement.
Is there a convergence zone in which both polarities can exist much like the pole stars Bootes oversaw? Can one change modes of operation over the course of a solar transit? Perhaps. Keep in mind that these degrees of Libra possess extreme drawing power... a.k.a. charisma and charm of the highest order. Once a person taps into the gravity of these degrees, others will be inexplicably captivated by their words, thoughts and actions... and they will not take kindly to being dismissed once engaged.
Is this contradiction Hamlet personified? To be or not to be...? Perhaps the reframe states: To Bootes or not to Bootes... that is the question.
More soon.
There’s nothing like the time of Libra for a cosmic reality check with the transits to create alignment with what one wants to accomplish and how others perceive accomplishment efforts. Whether a half-hour, full-blown session or sequence of sessions, the transits and discovery of galactic intricacies assist the cause. For those wanting to pose a question or two, that’s an option. So is ordering a Galactic Report or diving into the Galactic Trilogy.

MOZART & HIS COUSIN " MARIANNE " / " BASLE "
( An Enthralling Tale by WA Mozart )
* Maria Anna Thekla Mozart ( 1758 - 1841 ) - photo 2: self-portrait in pencil from 1777 or 1778/ Mozart Museum, Salzburg - called " Marianne " known as " Basle " ( " little cousin " ) was the cousin of WA Mozart.
* Photo 1: Mozart gave the portrait to his 18-year-old cousin Maria Anna Thekla Mozart, with whom he had a fleeting affair, probably his first. Thought to be worn as a locket, the 4cm image was painted by an anonymous artist in 1777 and is referred to a number of times in a series of nine letters written by the composer to his cousin during their short attachment – displaying his usual ‘scatological humour’.
( Between 11 Oct. and 26 Oct. 1777, 19-year-old Marianne met the 21-year-old Wolfgang in Augsburg. The young people developed a close, probably intimate relationship ).
* This story was originally told by Mozart in a letter to his cousin, Maria Anna Thekla Mozart, on 28th February 1778. She is the very same cousin who was the recipient of the infamous Bäsle-Briefe, letters hidden and censored for their scandalous content.
“Now I must tell you something before I close because I have to stop soon, for I am in a hurry, as I have absolutely nothing to do right now; and then, too, because I have no more space left, as you can see, I am just about out of paper; besides I’m tired, my fingers are aching from writing so much, and, finally, I wouldn’t know, even if I had more room to write, what else I could tell you? except perhaps the story that I’m going to tell. So listen!
It didn’t happen so very long ago, and it happened here somewhere out in the country; it created a big stir because it’s almost unbelievable. Nobody knows, just between you and me, how this thing will end. So then, to make a long story short, it happened about 4 hours from here, I don’t remember the name of the place–it was a village or something like that; at any rate, it doesn’t really matter whether it was Tribsterill, where the shit runs into the sea, or Burmesquick, where they make the crooked assholes; in other words, it was some kind of a place.
Well, then, there was once a herdsman or shepherd who was already quite old but looked still rugged and strong; he was unmarried and well off, and he enjoyed life. Oh yes, there’s one more thing I must tell you before I go on with my story: the sound of his voice was terrifying, people always got scared when they heard him speak. Well now, to be brief, you should know further that he had a dog called Bellot; it was a very beautiful, big dog, white with black spots. So, one day, the man came wandering along with his sheep, he had about 11 thousand, and he was carrying in his hand a stick that was decorated with a beautiful rose-colored ribbon. He never went anywhere without his stick; it had become a habit with him; but let’s continue: after he had walked a good hour, he got tired and sat down by a river. At last, he fell asleep, and he dreamed he had lost his sheep; in his fright he woke up and to his great joy he saw that his sheep were all there; finally, he got up and went on his way, but he didn’t get very far, for scarcely half an hour and gone by when he came to a bridge that was very long and had railings on both sides, so no one would fall off; well now, he looked at his flock and because he had to cross over, he began to usher his 11 thousand sheep across the bridge.
Now will you please be so kind and wait until the 11 thousand sheep are on the other side, then I will finish my story. I told you beforehand that no one knows how this thing will end. I do hope, however, before I write again, the sheep will all have crossed the bridge; if not, it really doesn’t matter much; as far as I am concerned, they could have all stayed on this side; at any rate, you’ll have to be satisfied with what I know and what I told you; it’s better I stop here rather than add to the story by making things up. In that case you might doubt the whole shistory as it is now–you probably don’t believe half of it, anyway.”
Thank you FB @ Lisa Mirren

Blood Rite–Sleeping King
So in my wild hunt post I theorized that Fionn was not dead but rather he is sleeping because in actual myths he is.
According to the most popular account of Fionn's death, he is not dead at all, rather, he sleeps in a cave, surrounded by the Fianna. One day he will awake and defend Ireland in the hour of her greatest need. In one account, it is said that he will arise when the Dord Fiann, the hunting horn of the Fianna, is sounded three times, and he will be as strong and as well as he ever was.
it is connected with "sleeping king under a mountain" myth.
The king asleep in mountain (D 1960.2 in Stith Thompson's motif index system)[1] is a prominent folklore trope found in many folktales and legends. Thompson termed it as the Kyffhäuser type.[
I thought it would be Ramiel bc in acosf we have eris saying "we didnt look under ramiel"
Eris gave him a mocking smile, but continued, “Unsurprisingly, the Illyrians were never curious enough to see what secrets lie beneath Ramiel. If it, too, was carved up like the others by ancient hands.”
Lets go to the actual theory...
Blood rite and why it happens?
In these sleeping king under a mountain myths there is this info...
In the Brothers Grimm version, the hero speaks with the herdsman. Their conversation typically involves the hero asking, "Do the eagles (or ravens) still circle the mountaintop?" The herdsman, or a mysterious voice, replies, "Yes, they still circle the mountaintop." "Then begone! My time has not yet come."
Another one
Enchanted by a mysterious spell, the old Kaiser Frederick I. Barbarossa was transported to an underground palace in the Kyffhäuser Mountains where he is still in a deep sleep sitting on an ivory chair at a large round marble table, with his head resting in his hands. His red beard glows like embers and has grown right through the table down to its feet and almost all the way around it. Every hundred years the Kaiser wakes from his deep sleep, moves his head and blinks to summon his faithful gnome Alberich. He asks Alberich to climb up to the outside of the mountain to see if the ravens are still squawking and flying around it. If they are, great sadness overcomes the Kaiser and he murmurs into his beard that he must wait yet another hundred years before he can return to the outside to bring unity and peace to the world. Sighing, he closes his eyes again and sleeps for another hundred years. Only when his beard has grown all the way around the round marble table will his waiting come to an end because at this point, a proud eagle will sweep up into the air, frighten the ravens away, the Kaiser and his faithful followers will awake from the spell, climb up and out into his worldly palace and restore order everywhere.
So...
if ravens are still flying= back to sleep
if ravens are not there= wake up and bring unity to land
Illyrians...Ramiel? Are they the ravens? So what if blood rite is that time when he "wakes up" to check? Thats why illyrians get magic that time? Why blood rite happens at all is because of this?
That's all 🫡🫡

All The Colors Of Love
(For Holi Festival 2024)
In a time long ago, there dwelled a king whose power and grace were matched only by his cruelty. He ruled his lands with a jealous heart, ever wary of anyone or anything that could threaten his reign.
The story begins with him, but it is not about him.
Guided by the advice of his court soothsayer, the king believed that the child of his own sister would one day grow up to slay him and usurp his throne. When his sister fell in love with a neighboring chief, he had them both held under guard, ready to kill their child as soon as it was born.
However, by luck and by her own cunning, his sister managed to save her child’s life. He was delivered in a thunderstorm that caused a flood in the surrounding country, keeping the king from snatching the infant to kill.
The child’s father, holding the baby over his head, waded out into the storm. The waters seemed to part for him, as if the divinities themselves were watching over their plight. He waded until he came to the home of a simple animal herder, where he arranged for the child to be hidden until his destiny could be realized.
Though the child was the son of a princess and a great chief, he was raised in the humble life of a herdsman. He was called Madhav - ‘honey’ - for his sweet nature as a child and grew up playing with the children of the countryside, the sons and daughters of other herders and milkmaids.
The early years of his life were idyllic; spent wandering the countryside looking after his herd, playing the flute and getting into mischief. And as he grew older, his playfulness turned into flirtatiousness behind it. He was popular among the girls of the village, the milkmaids and herders' daughters, always chasing one or another of them.
And not an idle pursuit, for he truly loved each of them, and they loved him in return.
Until there came a day that would change his life forever.
Madhav was wandering in the forest, playing the flute, when he came across a procession of riders and carts bound for a nearby shrine. Immediately, he stood to watch it pass, half-hidden from the road.
And amidst the pilgrims and guards, he saw the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Madhav's heart skipped a beat as he caught sight of her. Her grace, her elegance, her sheer aura of nobility lingered with him, like a haunting melody that refused to fade.
Then, as if drawn by his attention, she turned her head to look straight at him.
It was as if time itself had paused, and all he could see was her ethereal beauty. And as she gazed back at him, sensing his presence in his hiding place, her eyes reflected the feelings that stirred within his own heart back at him.
In that moment, he fell deeply and powerfully in love with her, and could tell that she too, had fallen in love with him with but a glance. He vowed to learn more about her so he could truly win her heart entire.
He went to her to learn her name - Radhika. She was the daughter of a neighboring village chief, visiting the shrine to give devotion before returning to her marriage and her home. Madhav, though disheartened to learn she was promised to another, was resolute in his admiration.
Though he thought also of his status as a lowly herder in contrast to hers, the darkness of his skin marked by the sun next to her - fair as moonlight. As time passed, he began to doubt that he may be able to win her affection, or that he was even worthy of it to begin with.
He went to his mother with his doubts. And, like mothers often can, she knew what to say to her son to try to assuage him. Though she had raised him as her own child, she revealed to him then his true origins - how he had been hidden from his cruel uncle in their village to spare his life.
This was no comfort to Madhav’s heart, for as he looked ahead, it was as though he could see a greater destiny unfolding before him. Greater than the simple stirrings of the heart - something ordained by the providence of the divinities. There would come a day he would need to confront his uncle and slay him. It would take him from everything he had known, and part him from his beloved Radhika.
As for his second moment of hesitation, his mother only smiled. She suggested: ‘if it is the difference in your colors that troubles you, why not paint your beloved in any color you care to.’
Meanwhile, Radhika also vowed to learn more of this man with whom she felt nothing but great affection. Though, as she moved about the village, all she heard of Madhav was of his sweet and mirthful nature. And more, of his affections for every milkmaid and herding woman that they seemed to share with him.
Her heart was then struck by jealousy and anger. Her mind filled with doubts of her own. To her mind, it seemed only that her feelings were not reciprocated with the same devotion. That she was to be somehow diminished, perhaps unworthy in her own way.
She vowed to confront Madhav about it one night when they were due to meet. And when the night arrived, she dressed herself in fine robes of white. With her pale face floating above like the light of the moon, she shone like a divine being herself.
She met him in the forest where they had first laid eyes on each other and confronted him about his behavior. And he laughed to hear it, though not out of malice or any unkindness, but simple amusement.
And he explained to her that though he loved and was beloved of many, she held the highest place in his own affections, and that there was no other who could compete with it.
On hearing the words from his lips, Radhika’s heart was lightened again, though only somewhat. They both knew that circumstances would not permit them to marry and truly be together, despite their great and enduring love for the other. She would need to return to her life one day, and he to the great destiny laid out before him before his birth.
But that night, they were together, and the challenges to their love they would need to overcome were as far away as the stars overhead. And they danced together, there in the forest, and put it out of their minds.
And Madhav, remembering his mother’s advice, took colored gulal to smear across the face of his beloved, painting her features and her white clothing in all the colors he liked, as a symbol of their love for each other. And she reached for him in return, to mark his face and clothes by her own hands.
And they vowed that, whatever was to come, they would remain devoted to each other. And the obstacles of the future would be those that they would face together, with exuberance.
As life is meant to be lived.

rasha armazi was born in a small mountain village. her mother was the village herbalist; her father, a herdsman from the great salt desert to the east. they lived quietly, simply, as villagers often do. each day the same as the last. until a pack of bandits assaulted the village and killed her parents when she was 17.
it would have been easy to give up hope; to quietly accept the harsh reality of life and do her best to move on. but rasha chose revenge. she took up her father's hunting bow and sought the bandits out, picking them off one at a time. and when there were none remaining, she left the village without looking back.
for years, she plied her trade as a sellsword; traveling, fighting, leaving behind everything that made her who she was. wolf-killer, they called her. wolfin.
but after a time, something in her changed. her senses became sharper; the strength in her muscles was no longer human. she began experiencing blackouts, lapses in memory, intense fevers, and restlessness. the palms of her hands itched and burned with a white-hot fire she could barely control. she was becoming something else. something more than human. an ancient divine bloodline, one of her father's, had awakened in her.
for years she wandered, slowly shifting from mortal to immortal. from woman to demigod. she did her best to ignore the changes as they came. did her best to learn control over her strange new abilities. her grip on her own humanity, however, was starting to slip away.
finally, she could no longer ignore what was happening. the strange whispers in the back of her mind, the power flowing through her. she journeyed high into wild mountains, seeking out the oracle of the mountain god. it spoke of a journey east; of hot, dry winds and an altar waiting for a sacrifice.
her sacrifice.
venturing into the salt flats and empty desert of her father's people, she eventually found her way to the crumbling altar the oracle had spoken of. built in ancient times to honor the god of the sun, rain, and blood. a sword was there, waiting. and after driving it through her gut, she plummeted into darkness.
the ascension took a year. a year enduring her own death, a year drifting through the endless black with other spirits of the dead, a year of trials and battles beyond the mortal plane.
and then, a new god returned to the world.
armazi, god of the sun.
