Asami sato x firebender reader
I still remember the first time I saw her.
It was during one of my training sessions, when I was still a young firebender trying to master my abilities. As I practiced, I couldn't help but notice her, standing at the back of the room, her long dark hair tied up in a ponytail and a confident aura surrounding her. I was instantly captivated by her beauty and strength.
Asami Sato, the heiress of Future Industries, was well known among the benders community. Her business empire was built on groundbreaking technology and innovation, and she was also an accomplished non-bender martial artist. Her reputation preceded her, and many firebenders admired her from afar.
But I was not content with merely admiring her from a distance. I wanted to get to know her, to be a part of her world. And so, I mustered up all my courage and approached her after the training session.
To my surprise, not only did she reciprocate my interest, but she also offered to help me improve my firebending skills. Asami could see the potential in me, and she was more than willing to mentor me.
With her guidance, my skills as a firebender improved tremendously. I was able to control and manipulate flames with ease, creating intricate shapes and patterns with my fire. Asami was patient and understanding, never once losing her cool even when I struggled with a particular technique.
As we spent more time together, we grew closer. We shared stories and experiences, and I learned that Asami was more than just a powerful businesswoman. She had a kind heart and a fierce determination to make the world a better place.
I found myself falling deeper in love with her with each passing day. Her strength and grace were irresistible, and I felt grateful to have her by my side.
But we both knew that our love was forbidden. As a firebender, I was expected to marry within my own kind. And Asami, being the heiress of Future Industries, was constantly watched and scrutinized by her father and the public.
However, our love was stronger than any societal expectations. We decided to keep our relationship a secret, knowing that the consequences could be dire if anyone found out.
Despite the risks, we were happy. We sneaked away to spend time together whenever we could, whether it was on a rooftop under the stars or in a secluded area of the city. Asami even started to join me during my training sessions, bringing along her latest invention to assist me in my training.
Our love blossomed, and I felt like I was living in a dream. But as they say, all good things must come to an end.
One day, while we were enjoying a peaceful moment in a garden, we were ambushed by a group of firebenders who were against any kind of relationship between a firebender and a non-bender. Asami and I fought against them, our bending skills meshing together perfectly as we defended ourselves.
But it was no use. They outnumbered us, and just when I thought the end was near, Asami stepped in front of me, using her martial arts skills to fend off our attackers. However, in the chaos of the battle, she sustained a severe injury, and I was too preoccupied with protecting her to notice.
When the attackers were finally defeated, I rushed to Asami's side, my heart sinking as I saw the blood seeping through her clothes. With tears in my eyes, I tried to heal her injuries with my firebending, but it was no use. Her injuries were too severe, and she needed medical attention immediately.
Without hesitation, I scooped her up in my arms and rushed her to the nearest hospital. As her life hung in the balance, I prayed to the spirits, begging them to spare her life. I couldn't imagine a world without Asami by my side.
After what seemed like an eternity, she finally regained consciousness. She looked at me with a weak smile, and I knew at that moment that she was going to be okay.
Asami's father, Hiroshi Sato, arrived at the hospital soon after. He was shocked and angry to find out about our forbidden love, but as he saw the love and care I had for his daughter, his heart softened. He gave us his blessing and even offered to help us keep our relationship a secret.
From that day on, Asami and I were no longer just two people in love. We were a team, facing any challenges that came our way, together.
Asami and I eventually got married, and we continued to train and support each other in our respective abilities. Together, we used our skills and resources to make a difference in the world, just like we always dreamed of.
Looking back now, I realize that our love was the catalyst for great change. Our love had the power to overcome any boundaries and obstacles, setting an example for others to follow.
And as I stand here, beside my wife Asami, I couldn't be more grateful for our love that started in a training room. It was a love that transformed not only our lives, but the world around us.

In the middle of the night, with only the wind catching in her hair as she drove her Satomobile, Asami lazily turned around the corners of Republic City's streets, stopping at the traffic lights even when no one was in sight.
The radio was turned off - as it always was, she never did bother to put it on - and with one arm propped up on the window supporting her head, the other tapped nonchalantly against the steering wheel.
Nightmares had overwhelmed her yet again as she lay to sleep, and her dreams alluded her for something more sinister and foreboding. She missed being able to catch a proper shut eye, but ever since the events at that hangar with Bolin and General Iroh, ever since she's confronted her father, who had tried to kill her, Asami was plagued by the same recurrent images.
Hiroshi Sato looked over her in his mechatank, ready to deliver the final blow. Asami had been helpless then were it not for Bo taking charge and bending the earth to shield her. The scars from the glass shattering against her skin were long healed, Korra had made it a point to do so, perhaps in a bid to apologize for all that had transpired. After all, it was the Avatar who had taken the heiress's boyfriend from her, the Avatar who had exposed both her and her father as Equalists.
Though she had been acquitted seeing what she'd done to help the Team and with the press ever in the dark as to Asami's original allegiance, the young woman was given an inkling of freedom to roam about. She knew without a doubt that Chief Beifong would be watching her every move, waiting for Asami to slip up. She wouldn't give her the satisfaction, not much out remorse as to her scheming - though Asami did regret her actions - but rather out of spite.
The others had gone back to their routine, pro-bending matches carrying on, trainings at Air Temple Island, catching up with one another, but the invitation, though extended to Asami, felt more of an obligation than genuine interest.
The light turned green, but Asami lingered a while longer before setting her foot down on the pedal. Her breathing was shallow and constricted, and each attempt to take in a deeper one proved painful. Without even knowing where she was heading, Asami found herself parking at the docks.
The water over Yue Bay glimmered under the moonlight, a canvas of darkness reflecting the pale hue of the stars above. Asami sat on the hood of the car, arms crossed over her chest as she let her head drop between her shoudlers. She could not stand glancing up at the heavens, for fear that her memories - the good ones that were not tainted by hatred and anguish - overwhelmed her. How many times had she spent the late hours of the night stargazing with her parents? Yasuko had taught her much about the stars, but with each attempt to remember the names of the constellations, they seemed to slip further away from her. A stray tear trickled down her cheek, hot and unwelcomed, but Asami did not brush it away. Better let it out now in the stillness of the night than dwell over her emotions tomorrow as she tried to salvage whatever was left of Future Industries.
A shuddering breath escaped her, a sinking feeling settling deep in her heart, and for once, Asami wished her dad had actually killed her. At least he would have spared her the pain of having to go at it alone.
She sat at the edge of the bay and pulled her legs close to herself as she set her chin upon her knees. Everything felt heavy, the weight of it all threatening to drown her in a pit of despair, and for once, Asami could not see a way out of this. A yawn escaped her. It was time to head back home. Yueng, her steadfast butler, would be worried about her anyway, and Asami hated worrying him. In the wake of the scandal, her staff had all but left the Mansion, but Yueng had stayed, had taken Asami in his arms even though he rarely ever showed emotions, and let her cry on his shoulder. Perhaps she wasn't as alone as she thought she was, but the very thought of burdening Yueng with her petty nightmares did not sit right with her.
The streets were as quiet as ever as she made her way back, did not fail to notice the Satocycle following her along the city's streets per Beifong's orders. She sort of wished the officer would have sat down with her on the docks. Perhaps they'd get to one another, maybe be...friendly. But then, no.
Asami Sato had long been alone, and alone she would remain until all of her sins were atoned for. If it took an eternity, then so be it. She'd make things right again somehow. Somehow.
When she set her head against her pillow, much to comfortable, she noticed, Asami drifted into a dreamless sleep. The nightmares would come back to taunt her sooner rather than later, but for now, she was content to simply roam in the void of her mind.

Quiet Nights Chapter 1
A/N: This is the first Korrasami fanfiction that I have written in nine or 10 years, so my writing skills are rusty. Please be gentle and enjoy! -------
Republic City always felt like a different place during the winter months. Illuminated by the spirit portal, the city came to life as festive music wafted lazily over the low buzzing of voices that came from crowds of families shopping for the Winter Solstice celebrations. Asami Sato could hear the bustle of Republic City all the way from Air Temple Island where she was staying with Korra, Mako and Bolin after Tenzin had very graciously offered to let them stay for the holidays. They all agreed excitedly. It had been a few months since Team Avatar had all been together. Their return to Republic City after the Gaoling crises in the Earth Kingdom had Team Avatar swiftly fall back into their own separate work routines. Korra was always off handling her Avatar duties, Asami worked tirelessly alongside President Moon and Bolin on the new infrastructure plan she and former President Raiko had started on, and poor Mako was being crushed with a metalbending fist and endless loads of paperwork at the police force. They did see each other occasionally, but their time together was so infrequent that it felt like it hardly mattered. However, there was one reprieve. Despite the amount of work each member of Team Avatar had, the world seemed to quiet down at last. Asami took advantage of the momentary peace and felt grateful to finally not have to worry about some diabolical mad person trying to murder her girlfriend. She really did hate that. Dense and heavy clouds hung low in the night sky as snow fell silently, gently dusting the ground. Asami always loved when it snowed in Republic City. The festivities reminded her of her childhood. Memories of playing in the snow with her mother and father when she was a girl flooded the young woman’s mind as she smiled softly, fondly remembering the sound of her mother’s laughter and how warm it made her feel. It was one of the last memories she had of her mother before the Agni Kai Triads attack. Asami felt something warm on her face. Pressing her hand softly to her cheek, she slowly wiped away the tears that had left streaks on her alabaster skin. She didn’t realize that she had begun to cry. Asami knew she was extremely fortunate in a lot of ways. Transitioning from heiress to the sole proprietor and CEO of Future Industries after her father’s-- the late Hiroshi Sato-- fall from grace was no small feat, but she was now one of the wealthiest people in Republic City. Asami felt blessed that she got to use her company’s wealth to help create Republic City’s new infrastructure and give back to the people, but she lost so much in exchange. Asami gazed outside of the octagonal shaped window longingly. She missed her parents so much, but sometimes felt like she didn’t have a right to mourn them. After all, Mako and Bolin had lost their parents the same way Asami had lost her mother. However, unlike Asami, the boys ended up on the streets, homeless and alone. How could she possibly mourn the loss of her mother when she knew that she grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth? Asami sighed heavily and moved over towards the queen size bed. Comparing herself to her friends was never helpful, but she couldn’t help it sometimes. The raven-haired woman took a few deep breaths as she tried desperately to bring herself back from her intrusive thoughts. She suddenly felt extremely grateful for Tenzin and his family. When Asami first found out that her father was making weapons and artillery for the Equalists, they welcomed her, Mako and Bolin to Air Temple Island, essentially adopting the trio into their family. If Korra hadn’t asked Tenzin if they could stay at Air Temple Island back then, Asami might have lost everything. The thought of her being alone in the Sato Estate at the time was enough to send the poor woman over the edge. Tears welled up in her eyes. After years of pushing her grief aside, Asami finally broke down, sobbing. She wanted to feel like the laughing child that existed in her memories, but all she felt was the weight of her own heart, heavy with grief. Once the wave of
emotion subsided, Asami took yet another deep breath before getting under the covers. She hadn’t seen Korra much that day, but she decided not to wait for the Avatar as she laid down to sleep. As much as Asami needed her girlfriend right now, she was kind of glad that she didn’t see her crying. She didn’t want to worry her. ‘She’ll come to bed when she is ready.’ Asami thought as she yawned and closed her eyes, quickly drifting to sleep, exhausted from crying. All she wanted was to feel Korra’s strong arms wrapped around her and couldn’t wait to wake up to feel Korra’s body next to hers.

@bitofthisandthat
It was her: ASAMI SATO. Korra recognized her from the front page of the Republic City Times. Street vendors yelling something about how she created some solar-powered whatever –– It was just a prototype of some something-or-another that Korra really didn’t care about, but it had Republic City in a tizzy. Firebenders had been harnessing energy from the sun for hundreds of years, but she guessed none of that mattered now that a non-bender had figured out how to do it, like it was some novel concept. HARD EYE-ROLL.
Whatever. It meant Miss Sato had money, power, and resources at her disposal. And that’s what Korra cared about.
She crossed the dimly bar, what light was present reflecting off the ornate golden detailing. It screamed I come from money and Korra knew she did not belong. But she had to play the game if she wanted to get ahead. There was nothing else waiting on her –– The streets grew cold, night after night, and bouncing around from stranger to stranger grew less and less appealing.
And maybe she was crazy. Asami would take one look at Korra and turn her back on her. And Korra wouldn’t blame her. She had everything.
But still, Korra sat down at the empty stool next to Asami, quickly ordering a double shot of whiskey. What was the heiress to Future Industries doing alone at a place like this? Maybe she didn’t have everything. Either way, Korra, playing dumb, did a double-take as if she just noticed WHO she was beside.
“Wait, you’re Asami Sato, aren’t you? Wow, I’m such an idiot, was this seat saved?”

Korrasami Month 2018 - The Race
Once upon a time, Atalanta was a powerful huntress that had made a vow to never marry. Surrendering to her father insistence, she offered to marry anyone who could outrun her—but those whom she overtook she speared. In one race Hippomenes was given three of the golden apples of the Hesperides by the goddess Aphrodite; when he dropped them, Atalanta stopped to pick them up and so lost the race.
Jinora closed the ancient book she was examining and sighed. After putting it back on the shelf, she pondered where to look for reading material next. Republic City Public Library had seriously taken its toll after Kuvira's attack, and to make things worse, becoming the hiding spot for a particularly vicious gang of firebending crooks reduced the amount of salvageable books and scrolls to less of a hundred.
The young master airbender looked outside through the newly-restored windows. If only they could access to all the knowledge they had in Wan Shi Tong's library... They wouldn't even need to bring the originals with them, maybe just... copy them? In some format that was not so flammable, if possible? She made a mental note to talk with Asami about that, she would probably figure out a way to manage it.
But until then, maybe visiting Wan Shi Tong's library was enough. Maybe the librarian would allow them just browsing the material. After all, the Unalaq debacle had happened years ago. And yet, she was reluctant to try. But she glanced the single shelf with all the remaining reading material they had. It was time to at least try.
She sat cross legged on the floor. The library was empty and the restoration works had managed to turn it back to its silent state. It was a good place to meditate. Better than home, even, without Ikki and Meelo interruptions. She concentrated, and in the blink of an eye there she was, in the middle of her favourite place of the spirit's world. Some knowledge-seeking foxes were startled by her apparition, but they went back to their business, and Wan Shi Tong was nowhere to be seen. Well... maybe she could just take a look to some of the books there, before she faced the scary owl spirit.
She looked around. The aisle where she had appeared was as good place as any to begin her search. The banner at the head of the aisle read "Greek mythology". Uh-huh, whatever that is, let's find out - she thought. She took a beautifully decorated volume that called her attention, it had really detailed illustrations of people - nude people in some cases, she realized, blushing - with strange-looking robes, nothing like she had seen on any of the Four Nations styles. Also, the animals, or spirits, were different to what she was used to. "Maybe 'greek' means 'fantasy'" she muttered to herself. She opened at a random page and began reading. "In Greek mythology Atalanta was an Arcadian heroine-"
***
"I don't care what you want, father! Just because you want a heir for Future Industries, it doesn't mean you get to decide who I marry with!"
Asami stormed off her father's office slamming the door. She was sick of it, of all the self-absorbed, full-of-themselves suitors pursuing her day and night. Sometimes it was charming, granted, but very soon, every time, she discovered that they weren't interested on how she was but what she was, a heiress. And she wasn't just that! Not to boast, but she was a brilliant engineer, a more-than-capable fighter and an excellent driver and...
"That's it!" She stopped on her tracks and went back to Hiroshi's Sato office. She opened without knocking only to find her father lost in thought.
"I'll marry... whoever beats me in the racetrack." Hiroshi's brow arched, he didn't expect that. "But if I win, you have to make those candidates of yours to stop pursuing me, and you will not ever attempt to force me into any marriage". Asami crossed her arms awaiting a response.
Hiroshi pondered for a moment. Yes, she was her best satomobiles tester, but that didn't mean she was the best driver in the world. He was starting to feel desperate with his attempts to secure his legacy, and the look in Asami's eyes made her think this was no bluff but an ultimatum.
"Very well, it will be as you wish" Asami dropped her arms as she wasn't expecting her father to agree so quickly. "But this will require some time to prepare... " He looked at the calendar in his desktop and browsed through its pages "It will be in three months from today."
Asami nodded, and started planning her practice schedule. Three months was more than enough to achieve perfection. There was no way she was going to lose this. There was just too much at stake.
***
"You won't believe what Huan just told me!" Opal announced stepping into the training grounds of the Air Temple Island. Bolin and Korra stopped their training session and looked at her. "My brother Wei is entering the road race to opt to Asami Sato's hand!" Bolin and Korra remained silent and exchanged an amused look. "What?" Opal exclaimed, throwing suspicious glances to both of them.
Korra shrugged and said nonchalantly "Nothing! I just thought Wei of all people wouldn't be so interested in... *ahem* ... plus isn't he a bit young for marrying?" Bolin sniggered beside her, not really helping the Avatar to get out of trouble.
Opal decided it wasn't worth to feel offended, in fact she had thought very much the same when receiving the news. "Well, it seems like Mr. Sato is trying to establish some sort of industrial empire, so he has been contacting most of the big families throughout all four nations searching for a *worthy* heir for his daughter, and that includes my own one. But apparently there is a catch, and it's that she has only agreed to marry if she is beaten in a road race. And according to this article it will take place in less than three months" She showed the newspaper in her hand to her boyfriend and Korra. Korra held the article but couldn't tear her eyes from the picture of the Future Industries heiress even if Opal continued with her explanations "But you're right, and I just think this is a last resort kind of thing for Mom trying to marry off Wei..." Opal finished sheepishly. Her mother seemed to be very open in other aspects of life, but when it came to her children she was adamant to let them live their lives freely. "Well, I'll leave you to it, sorry I interrupted your training!" and with a swift of air she flew out towards the air bisons barn.
Bolin noticed Korra was still transfixed with the newspaper article. He waved his hand in front of Korra's eyes to break the spell, but she seemed lost in thought. Then Korra raised her eyes from the article and muttered "Bolin, I think I'm in love". Bolin looked surprised to his friend, looked at the dark beauty picture in the newspaper and back to his friend. He started jumping up and down and screamed "OOOOHHHH!! This is so goophhhh mmhhh!!" Korra muffled his mouth bending a chunk of earth to silent him while shushing her excited buddy. Bolin tried to look outraged while he spitted the soil out, but he couldn't help to be happy for her. He stopped moving and putting his hand in Korra's shoulder he whispered "Okay, but you know we need a plan, right?". Korra grinned, noticing he supported her, no questions asked, and then she leaned into him, murmuring in a conspiracy tone "I think I have a solution that will work out just fine for Wei... and for me".
***
"The answer is no." Beifong's answer was curt, and she went back to her paperwork.
Bolin looked exasperated and tried to elaborate "But... but... How can you say no? It's a noble cause! Love! Young Love!” Bolin looked at his brother for help. The Chief of Police was actively trying to ignore them but they needed her, if they wanted to have a chance in all this craziness. Mako sighed and tried a different angle. "Chief, I agree all this... is nonsense,” Bolin frowned “but think about your nephew. He's being forced to compete for something he doesn't even want! I can't believe you agree with that".
Lin stopped writing and held the bridge of her nose. The two brothers looked at her expectantly. "All right, I'll do it! But only because you two nosy punks won't leave me alone!" Lin looked up to them, they were smiling and Bolin was tempted to initiate a hug, but realised it wasn't a good idea. The chief dismissed both with her hand, and they complied quickly before she changed her mind.
Wei had already agreed to their plan in the phone. He would train his driving skills back in Zaofu to avoid suspicion, but once in Republic City for the race event, Korra and he would swap, leaving her compete in his place. Having Chief Beifong onboard granted they wouldn't have any issue infiltrating the race, and more importantly, she would be a perfect coach for Korra's driving lessons. Everything was going very, very well.
***
"Brake! BRAAAKEEE!!!" Metal squeaked when bent to pull the satomobile to a stop. Korra, with her knuckles almost white on the wheel, pouted. Lin grunted, and tried to compose herself. She turned to the back of the satomobile to find Mako and Bolin, all color drained out of their faces. "This is not working, kids" the Chief of Police said without emotion. "And at this point I'm not allowing her in a car, much less in the middle of a car race! She is a hazard for anyone in her way!"
Mako ignored the Avatar indignant cry and offered "Maybe if she isn't driving?" His audience turned to him, waiting for an explanation. "I know Varrick has been working on some kind of autonomous mechanism for satomobiles, he has been blabbering about it for weeks in the press. Maybe he could put one of those in Korra's satomobile, and at least she would be less... dangerous?" Korra huffed again, but again she was ignored. The date for the race was only a few days away, and it was a fact that Korra's advances driving were mostly non-existant. For an Avatar who had managed to bend four elements, it was astounding how incapable she was to manage mechanical devices.
Bolin nodded "That might work, I'll talk to Varrick later. He owes me some favors from the times we were together in the movers business, so I think I can bring him onboard." He was getting excited again, and that made Korra abandon her pouting face, but Lin just shook her head. "If that works, that would solve the fact that Korra doesn't run anyone over - which frankly, would make my life much easier - but we also need Asami to lose, and she is a really accomplished driver. And I don't think we can tamper with Asami's car, they would find out about any attempt to sabotage."
Mako nodded in agreement, "Then we need to distract her. But how?"
***
"Raava, I need your help" Korra's inner voice murmured during her meditation.
The light spirit made her presence known to the Avatar, and prompted her to make her request. "Avatar Korra... What is bothering you?..."
Korra gulped. "I need to know about a human, Asami Sato... " Korra fiddled with her hands, suddenly thinking this was not such a good idea. "I need to know her weak spots... but it's for a good cause!" Korra extended her hands, trying to justify herself. The light spirit made something similar to a sigh sound, their connection had made clear what kind of good cause was pressing the Avatar to ask for her help.
"She is a builder, but she is no bender. She needs tools..." the spirit voice was getting weaker, but before disappearing Raava imprinted an image in her mind. It was a workshop... a Future Industries workshop... and inside there was a cabinet containing a box... a toolbox marked with an anagram "A.S.". And as quickly as it came, the image disappeared from Korra's mind.
Korra woke up from her meditation. She was back in her room and Mako and Bolin were looking at her with expectation. Korra cocked her head. "I'm gonna be needing... tools?"
***
Mako didn't feel proud. He was a cop, he was supposed to catch trespassers, not become one of them. And yet here he was, holding a cloth with a wrench, a screwdriver and a hammer belonging to Asami Sato. He handed the evidence to the Avatar, embarrassed. Korra opened the package, examined its content and hugged her friend. She knew the effort he had made to break the rules for her.
The race day had arrived. Varrick had done a good job automatising the car. They had a trial the day before and it worked seamlessly. They had even managed to make a decent mark, with Chief Beifong driving remotely. Korra put on her helmet and pulled the zipper of the overalls Wei had just taken off. Together with the scarf and gloves, nobody would notice the deceit.
She hugged a last time her two friends and a very relieved Wei, and left the locker room for the starting grid. There were six other participants, but she had sneaked into their practice and she knew they weren't rivals to her - thanks to Varrick's device, that is. Korra took the seat of her satomobile, nodded towards Chief Beifong who was half hidden in a secluded box seat, and got ready to start.
Asami Sato was the last participant to reach her car. She flipped her long, raven black hair before fitting her googles, and looked back to her competition. She smiled smugly, and sat down in her seat.
All engines roared, ready to start. Ikki held a chequered flag by its pole, and upon Hiroshi Sato nod, she waved it down, with Meelo merrily floating in a small hurricane made by himself at her side.
The satomobiles sped up, wheels rotating at a burnout before shooting off. After just a few seconds, Asami Sato red roadster was clearly in advantage of all her suitors, with Korra's silver roadster following closely.
Asami sight was focused on the track, but her peripheral vision caught a glint of something shiny in that next opponent. She frowned when she recognised one of the hammers of her personal toolbox. The other driver threw it aside to the road margin. The distraction made her slow down, allowing her adversary to take the lead.
Korra was ecstatic, the plan was working! She laughed, exhilarated, until she noticed Asami's roadster was again at her level. Korra frowned, and got ready to use her second "secret weapon". She took the screwdriver, and purposedly wiggled it for the engineer to see. Asami was alternating looks to the road and to her opponent now, and Korra smiled at the heiress gaping mouth when she realized Korra had another tool of hers in her power.
Again, Korra threw the screwdriver to the road margin, allowing herself to mouth "Oops!", very much to Asami's anger. The engineer had slowed down again, but the rage towards this... this... dirty... Beifong scumbag... made her regain her focus and push to the metal. She managed to get matched again. There was absolutely no way she was going to let herself lose to some cheater.
Korra made a long face, but she still had her last ace up the sleeve. The wrench she had in her hand looked the same quality than the other tools, but much more worn away, probably a favourite for the engineer. Again she made sure Asami was looking at her, and shook it in front of the heiress eyes.
Asami couldn't believe it. "No, not Wrenchie, how do you DARE!" She was so dumbfounded she didn't realize until she saw the other car's rear plate that she had given up so much advantage. From behind, she could see how her nemesis threw her dearest tool to the side of the road. She was fueled by her fury and hit the gas as much as she could.
Korra winced. What she saw in the rear mirror was a very VERY angered Asami speeding up. Well, she would really have to make amends afterwards. She crossed her fingers and prayed that Chief Beifong floored it as much as she could. The finish line was closing, and Asami's roadster was still a little behind. "Come on... come on..." Korra was muttering to herself now, and then, all she could see was a the chequered flag waving again, and a red blur passing her after the line. She had won. Unbelievable.
"Wooohooo!!" She cheered and threw her right arm to the air, trying to maintain her cover. When the satomobile stopped, she jumped out of her seat and started to bounce up and down.
Asami Sato was making a beeline towards her. Maybe she was no firebender, but Korra could feel fire glowing from her green eyes. She was even more beautiful in person, Korra thought. "You cheater! How did you get hold of my tools! How do you d..." Asami seemed to lose her train of thought when Korra took her helmet off. The Avatar tried her best smile, and it seemed to be working.
"You are not Wei Beifong" Asami stated puzzled. And then something made click in her head. "You're the Avatar. You're the Avatar!" This outcome was not bad after all. Asami licked her lips, smiled and flipped back her hair. "But you really are a cheater, don't think I'm forgiving you so easily"
"So... I guess me winning means we're engaged now?" asked Korra with a goofy grin plastered in her face. Asami laughed and, knowing her father was approaching them, she took the Avatar's face with her hands and kissed her.
"What do you think you're doing?"

That wasn't Hiroshi Sato's voice. Jinora blinked twice, before recognising her surroundings, and Wan Shi Tong voice. She gasped, and closed the book she had fallen asleep upon. She smiled awkwardly and raised to her feet. Wan Shi Tong was in front of her, extending his wings to make himself more frightening. Bowing, she tried to calm herself, and appeal to the owl spirit knowledge hunger. "Honorable Wan Shi Tong, do you know how satomobiles work?"
Atalanta's myths are told, among others, in Ovid's "Metamorphoses". It's actually quite a cool character, one of the toughest chicks of the Greek Mythology :)
I'm not sure if it is a canon divergence... but dreams sometimes diverge from reality, so...
Comments, edits, suggestions... are very welcome. I hope you enjoy it!

korrasami summer exchange → @edenthoang
She approached the table, and Asami looked up, shockingly bright green eyes and long lashes languidly blinking at her.
“Well, hello darling,” she said, leaning forward in her seat, red lips curving into a smile. “What’s your name?”
Nervously, Korra smoothed down the fabric of her black suit, took a deep breath, pushed her shoulders back, and strolled into the Fire Club like she had every right to be there.
The patrons shot her curious looks, but she kept her eyes straight ahead. She was here for one reason only, and nothing could shake her from her goal.
“Name?” The bouncer guarding the club’s private room was almost as wide as the door itself, and towered over her, but she refused to back down.
“Korra,” she said. “I’m on the list to see Miss Sato.”
His eyes still on her, the bouncer flipped through his paper to check. “So you are,” he said, and shot her a glare. Korra wondered if he was hoping he’d be able to throw her out. “Right this way.”
He pushed open the door, and she stepped inside. The room was illuminated by dozens of candles, casting shadows on the wealthy who’s who of Republic City who frequented the club. They sat at their own tables and had their own conversations, but they were like planets, orbiting around the sun that was the woman in the centre of the room.
Asami Sato, Korra thought with clenched fists. Heiress, industrialist, CEO of Future Industries at only eighteen years old, she might have been the most famous woman in Republic City. Unfortunately for her, Korra had uncovered considerable ties between her company and the Republic City mob. Hopefully by the end of the night, she’d have enough evidence to put her firmly behind bars.
She approached the table, and Asami looked up, shockingly bright green eyes and long lashes languidly blinking at her.
“Well, hello darling,” she said, leaning forward in her seat, red lips curving into a smile. “What’s your name?”
“Korra,” she answered, fighting against the heat rising in her cheeks. “We’ve got a meeting scheduled.”
“Do we?” Asami smirked, but before Korra could argue, she waved away the rest of her guests. “Sit down, honey. I don’t have all night.”
Reluctantly, Korra obeyed, determined not to let this woman fluster her any more.
“You’re the detective, aren’t you?” Asami continued, examining her fingernails. “Youngest ever, and a woman to boot, even if you don’t dress like one.”
“You’ve figured me out,” Korra shrugged, eyes catching on the way Asami’s black hair spilled over her shoulder. Mentally, she shook herself. Concentrate!
Asami chuckled. “And what do you know about me?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Korra said, spreading her hands. “Daughter of Hiroshi Sato, inherited his company at eighteen, one of the richest women in the world, but . . .” she trailed off.
“Oh?” Asami leaned forward, delight writ clear on her face. “But?”
Korra copied her, leaning closer until her lips were just a breath away from her ear. “But I hear Miss Sato’s involved in some shady business. Some say she’s even in deep with the mob.”
For a split second, Asami froze. She was shocked, clearly, and Korra allowed herself a tiny smirk.
“Who told you that, hmm?” Asami asked. Her mask was back in place, but Korra could tell she was shaken. “It’s a serious accusation.”
“Don’t worry,” she said, sitting back in her chair. “I’m not the type to throw around rumours. But I’ve got proof.” Now here was the dangerous part-if she shared too much, she’d become a target. It was a fine line, between teasing Asami with how much she knew to learn more, or just giving up all her secrets.
But Asami only laughed. “Oh, darling, I wouldn’t count on that. A girl has her ways, you know.”
And just like that, back to square one.
A waiter offered her a drink, and she took it, sipping slowly under the weight of Asami’s gaze. She reminded herself to focus, again. All her hard work leading up to the night would be worth nothing if she didn’t succeed now.
“Like when the key witness in the Amon case just . . . disappeared?” Korra asked nonchalantly. Of course she didn’t expect Asami to start confessing to her crimes in front of her, but she wanted to rattle her, just enough for one tiny slip-up or mistake.
“A girl’s gotta have her secrets,” she smiled mysteriously, and took a sip of her champagne.
Korra pressed further. “But you do have them, don’t you?”
But now Asami just looked annoyed. She leaned forward again, almost conspiratorially. “Look, darling, I know what you’re trying to do here. You’re on some righteous crusade, ready to save the day. But you’re going to get yourself in trouble if you keep going down this road.”
“Why tell me this?” Korra whispered, unsure under the full strength of Asami’s gaze.
Asami smiled sadly. “I like you, Korra. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Korra was silent, stunned by her reveal. Asami . . . liked her? She didn’t want her to get hurt? It was hard to reconcile what she had said with the powerful, uncaring mob boss she had imagined.
“I think we’re done here, darling,” Asami said, not unkindly. She pressed something into Korra’s hand, and quickly turned away, appearing entirely disinterested.
Korra stood up, fingers clenched tight around whatever Asami had given her. She backed away from the table and didn’t stop until she was outside of the club, the cold night air whipping through her hair and cooling her cheeks.
She unfolded her hand, revealing a tiny slip of paper resting in her palm. Written on it, in delicate handwriting, was a short street address, somewhere in the Dragon Flats.
Korra clutched the paper to her chest, and exhaled slowly. She should bring it to Beifong, let her deal with it. That would be the right thing to do, wouldn’t it?
But childishly, selfishly, she wanted to see Asami again. She wanted to be near her and talk to her, to feel the thrill of the chase as they traded secrets.
Korra breathed out slowly, watching her breath fog in the air, and made a decision. The paper clutched in her hands, she strode purposefully down the cobblestone street and into the night.

In the Final Rose universe, where the Korra and her friend exist, what is their semblance? We know what korra semblance is, but what about the rest of team KABM. And how you pronounce KABM anyway? Does Asami still the heiress of Future Industry in this AU or the company doesn't exist?
Asami’s Semblance has not yet been fully revealed although it is generally described as a machine/technology-enhancement Semblance with a number of secondary effects (e.g., intuitive grasp for operating machinery and technology). Mako and Bolin have Semblances that allow them to control fire and earth to some extent.
KABM would be pronounced as ‘kaboom’.
Future Industries does exist, but it is a much smaller and less powerful company. Under Asami’s leadership, it grows larger and carves out a niche in developing modular vehicles and other machinery. It truly comes into its own as civilisation expands into space, and Sato Industries (also known as Future Industries) becomes the most powerful company in the Federation of Free Worlds.
Following the collapse of the Federation of Free Worlds and the eventual union of the various galactic factions into the Grand Empire Alliance (GEA), Sato Industries works alongside Dia Technologies and the Schnee Corporation as one of the premier industrial and technological forces in the GEA.
As an aside, Asami is widely considered to be one of the foremost minds of the Age of Heroes, and the Dia-Farron consider the House of Sato to be close allies since Asami spent several years studying under Vanille (i.e., serving as one of her minions at the lab), and Asami’s own memoirs speak very fondly of her time there and of the help Vanille gave her in expanding her own business interests. It is not at all uncommon for members of the House of Sato to spend several years studying with the Dia-Farron, in much the same way that many of Diana’s descendants do.

@cosmicstrength asked: “ don’t ever let anyone make you doubt your worth. ” (korra @ asami!)
“I tend not to most days.” It had been harder when the betrayal of her father was still fresh but having everyone else in her life had made things a little bit better. “The same goes for you Korra.”

Asami Sato Headcanons
Asami can be a bit of a picky eater as such when she goes out to eat she tends to pick what she’s already had before or lets someone who knows her pretty well pick for her.
When working on projects she has instructions for she reads directions and attempts to follow them, but often she looks and see flaws and ends up doing her own thing.
Asami’s father got rid of most of her mothers things so she has very little that connects her to her mother whom she barely remembers. It’s the main reason she decided to wear her hair so similarly to her mothers
Asami has a set of burns on her calf from the attack on the estate which killed her mother, that is why she typically wears longer dresses and boots that go up higher in order to hide the burns
Asami knew her father loved her but she often was pressured to appear the perfect woman. Before he had been exposed as an equilist she wasn’t allowed to be open about her sexuality
